I hate to write negative reviews but this place was atrocious. Tried it once and you could not pay me enough to return. The food was not good. Dishes lacked seasoning and just about everything was smothered in or served with ranch dressing. My family ended up leaving most of the food on their plates when normally we consume everything we order. The front house staff tried their best, and most were pleasant, but this place was sinking fast and you knew they were aware. There were flies buzzing around, dirty floor, seats and tables, old crusty food left on the bottom of one of our plates... I mean, just an awful place to eat all around. Very poorly managed. It's sad to see a restaurant fail but honestly I'm glad this one is now permanently closed. read more

This would be a great place to start a restaurant. It use to be ok but after walking out for the second time in two weeks I can only feel the there's a severe management problem. Service is terrible right from the time you walk in the door, when you finally get seated and finally someone comes and takes your order, brings your drink you have 20 minutes invested. After another 20 minutes a waitress asks if you want a refill, 10 minutes later you get the refill. The waitress disappears and still no food so with an hour spent, no food in sight we left. Second time, a sign now says seat yourself, we did, waited 10 minutes before a waitress showed up, took a drink order, water, 10 more minutes go by she comes back and we ask about their fish fry that they only have on Fridays, this is Friday. Waitress says she will have to check and goes to the kitchen. We wait but decide if we have another problem we will just leave. She comes back and says " a fish fry will take one hour "!!! We said we are going to leave, she seemed relieved. We had a $25 gift card so not wanting to ever come back we gave it to a couple who were waiting for their food and celebrating a birthday. Have had bad experiences each time we've gone. We went the first month they opened and the waitress had no idea what was going on. Also was charged absurd amount for a side of ranch we didn't order. Then the last time we ordered to go and received a clump of soggy breading and a pile of pickles being passed as fried pickles. read more

Horrible experience on Sunday, March 16. We were a party of six, three adults and three children. All six of us ordered lunch special Seemed like only one person was working and had to be the hostess, waitress, bartender, cook, and apparently dog sitter. Started out with the Coke machine being broken, then had to wait 43 minutes for a burger. Got the bill and a "large group" 20% tip was added to the check. There were only two other people in the restaurant the entire time we were there., and a dog barking from the kitchen. I would be surprised if this place is open more than a few weeks. Such a shame as it was a beautiful remodel. read more

Menu options are awesome, food was great and atmosphere with the steampunk feel is cool. We sat outside on the patio and had an app (avocado mozzarella) it was a bit salty so ask for less salt. The jalapeño honey chicken sandwich was great! Not too spicy. read more

I feel bad writing a bad review. The waitress was wonderful. However, the food was not. It was absolutely freezing in the restaurant. Apparently, the owner is from Florida, but you would never know it. The waitress even said it's always cold. It made it very uncomfortable for eating. I had a salad that I could have made better at home. I swear they took lettuce from the grocery store,dumped it in a bowl, and through some cranberries and bland chicken with absolutely no flavor in it. The tacos were the worst tacos we have ever tasted. They also had no taste, and I would have sworn they were from a box and heated up. I will say the nachos were pretty good. I think the restaurant has potential. It's a nice atmosphere but again it was so cold that we could not even enjoy our food. On top Of having a horrible meal our bill was $100. read more

what a pleasant surprise to run into a new bar & restaurant in Saukville -- an awesome addition to a rather quiet area. we stopped in to find only a couple of tables full in the restaurant on a Saturday night. we were thrilled at the live music outside (that they apparently have Friday & Saturdays). we took a spot at the bar wanting a drink & maybe a bite to eat. the cocktail menu has a number of specialty items (with no prices on them though...which was odd). my fiancé enjoyed his tequila blackberry drink. bartender was friendly & attentive. the menu was big & fill of really great options! we split a chicken sandwich & parm garlic fries & their awesome homemade ranch. food was good, but the prices were much higher than I would expect in the area. worth a try! read more

Pretty cool place.. They are working the kinks out as they are new. But when it comes to the food it is excellent. The brushetta is top tier. The staff is very good. My only feedback would be on the Philly cheesesteak would be more cheese, this is Wisconsin!! I will be back to try more things on the menu. Food was good but the service was terrible. Ordered drinks and an appetizer when we sat down. After the drinks arrived, we ordered our meal. About 10 minutes go by and our drinks are empty. Server walks past the table about 6 times and never even a look. So I went to the bar and refilled our drink order. Bartender was friendly and made good drinks. Still after some more time my wife asks the server after flagging her down, about the status of the appetizer to which we were told "I'll go check" and returns with our order stating there was a "mix up" in the kitchen. I believe that translates to "I never put the order in" $85 later we left extremely disappointed and had hope that this would be the one to stick in that location, seems like a continuation of the last two. Two weeks ago I had dinner here and ordered pot roast. It was extraordinary. The beef was really savory and had a complex flavor and a lot of sauce. It was served on top of mashed potatoes - also good - and asparagus that was tender and well made. Went back tonight and the pot roast was totally different. Something I could have gotten at Kwik Trip. Didn't have that savory flavor and sauce - and probably 1/3 less of it. The only sauce was gravy on top of the potatoes that was a basic beef gravy that could have come out of a jar. And the asparagus was 1/2 inedible - either the stalks were woody and white or stringy and thin. This was a real head scratcher. Even if it was a different chef I can't believe that it was the same dish. I'm really thinking twice if I want to take a chance and go back again. And I'm embarrassed that I raved about it to so many friends the first time. read more

Rainy night, and we just wanted to get a quick dinner but were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the server was excellent and so pleasant. We ordered the flatbread pizza and the meatloaf. The flatbread pizza was good, with generous pepperoni, cut into four triangular pieces. The meatloaf dinner was awesome. The meatloaf had a tasty vinegary bbq sauce; the garlic mashed were delicious and buttery, and the broccoli was grilled to perfection. For dessert, the baked chocolate chip cookie was hot from the oven and topped with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate syrup. The dining room is so cool with steampunk lighting and decor, and the music is pleasant. They have a welcoming bar, and a party room as well as an outdoor patio for the warmer months. Because it's October, the whole restaurant is decorated with Halloween displays. We had a great time, and will make regular visits to MJ's. What a great addition to Saukville! read more

This place is never worth the price. I got the Jalapeno Honey Chicken sandwich and it tasted like the oil the chicken was fried in was old and there were no jalapenos on my sandwich. All my experiences have been bad here, I only tried it again because I had gotten a gift card from there. read more

My first time dining for the most part was a very good experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious however the portion of meatloaf was extremely small. Just one very thin piece and I ordered it with mashed potatoes w/gravy which most of that was cold. Maybe I was just there on an "Off" evening. Considering the price of the meatloaf dinner, I would have thought the portion would have been a bit more (2 pieces) or 1 larger piece. Overall the food is tasty and I would go again but maybe will order something different. read more

went there a couple weeks ago, forgot to write a review earlier but as someone who has a gluten sensitivity, it's refreshing to see so many gluten free options, the blond server I had really knew her stuff and was very helpful when asking about gluten free substitutes. The gf buns are not crumbly which is so surprising to see, and the fries were some of the best i've had. We gave it another try about two months after ourlast visit. I had a hamburger. It was good and juicy although it tasted a little fishy. My wife took a bit and thought so too. We wondered how that could be but maybe they grilled the burger on the flat top right after they grilled some fish on it. My wife ordered the meat loaf. It was HUGE, either one big piece of two pieces. She took more than half of it home and will be eating it for awhile. I saw below another review complaining about how small her meatloaf wass, which tells me consistency continues to perhaps be an issue. Our waitress did not know the wine list when my wife tried to order a house Cabernet. She eventually got it though with no problem. the two of us sat at a table for four but the wiatress did not remove the other two place settings. That and the lack of knowledge of the drink menu (which still needs work, imho) indicates a lack of training is still a problem. And this waitress was not new but was there when we visited two months before. The food and drinks are generally good. I am rooting for this place to be successful. read more
