I haven't been to Beanies in many years so my husband and I stopped in to have dinner. The menu has a nice story on it about the owners wanting to start and authentic Mexican restaurant which is really sweet but unfortunately the food really didn't live up to it. I ordered from their specials menu and got a shrimp quesadilla that had the texture of something that had been microwaved and went cold very fast. The salsa was very tasty and the margaritas were good. I got a sangria which is advertised as fantastic frozen but wasn't available frozen and was incredibly thick and syrupy on the rocks. The server was really nice but service was very slow considering the ratio of servers to customers. The restaurant is cute but I won't be back for food. read more

My grandchildren would enjoy the $13 margaritas. And I'd share it with them. There was no discernible alcohol or tequila taste. Am a long time community resident. Hadn't been here in 5yrs was not to good then even worse now. Don't waste your time eating here, Tellos is so much better. Had enchilades verde totally no taste, and the salsa is terrible to much cumin or whatever they put in it it's way too yuk. And way overpriced when we got the bill for a single taco, an enchilada plate and a flight of daquiries was 52.00 dollars what a rip. one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Ozaukee county! great ambiance with a classic seating area, bar with swings for seats to sit on and also an outdoor patio area. they have a wide variety of margaritas to choose from (bonus points for them helping me make one a skinny version too ). we were also thrilled to find a bunch of different specials on the Tuesday night we went too -- all you can eat tacos (!!!) and blended margs on special. personal favorite was also their guac -- so fluffy & delicious. our waitress was also very kind and helpful throughout. read more

Came here for taco Tuesday, filled up on the amazing appetizer that comes with all the dips + their delicious chips. Unfortunately, I was only able to eat two tacos, and taco Tuesday is $15.99 for all you can eat. Just plan better than I did :) I also ordered a pina colada smoothie, oh wow this was incredible! I thought the tacos were a bit dry so I would suggest adding some sauce, the green sauce had a great spice to it. While this place is big on the show and service was satisfactory the food just wasn't good. The chips that came upfront with the salsa were not good either were hard as if they came out of a bag. The rice seemed salty or over seasoned somehow. With prices leaning towards the high side this place just isn't good value. Didn't try any drinks. read more

I had a really fun evening with some family when we prebooked one of their winter igloos. Prices varied based off of the drink package chosen but it also included 1.5hr in the igloo, appetizer plate (chips, guacamole, pico, queso) and igloo sanitizing before your visit. We arrived and were seated in our igloo, margarita pitcher waiting, and were pleasantly surprised at how warm it was! They had two space heaters going and it didn't feel chilly at all (outside temp was in the 30s). We were given a modified menu with family size options if we wanted to order any additional food. We ended up ordering the steak and shrimp fajitas and even though the menu said for 4, we had more than enough for 5 adults (with some leftovers). I haven't been to Beanies in years and it surprised me how tasty everything was! I really liked their guacamole, chips and margarita :) Service was great, our waitress gave us her cell number in case we needed anything. She was also checking on us regularly. We spent the majority of our time in there drinking margaritas, chatting and playing one of the provided games (What do you meme). I highly recommend this experience. We all had a blast! read more

We went here for Margaritas day. The special margaritas didn't taste like Tequila. I think you should still put tequila in even if it's a special. F The flights were a cute idea tho. We were visiting our family in the area for the first time and we drove up and found this restaurant. It was national margarita day and so we decided to enjoy. The food was delicious and it was all in a fun atmosphere. They have a piñata that drops down from ceiling for the kids with prizes. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. But what struck my wife and I the most, was how kind and nice the SERVERS were!!! Lots of young ladies and a few young men. And you could see the teamwork...must be a great place to work!! Took a bike ride to Port Washington and decided to have lunch. We were excited to have Mexican with a Margarita before the return peddle and we were thrilled to see a 32 oz Fishbowl Margarita for $20 that we could share. The drinks were brought out first and the Margarita was no larger than a regular from any other restaurant. I asked the waiter if it was in fact a 32 oz and he said yes. The food came (nachos and a guac bowl). I thought the guac was good but the nachos seemed like they were just re-heated - dried out refried beans and cheese on chips. Once we were through with the Margarita we took our 18 oz water bottle and emptied it into our 32 oz Margarita "bowl" and it nearly filled the glass. Although it did taste great, basically it was going to be a 20 oz drink for $20. They did take $5 off the check so the little Margarita ONLY cost $15....argh! Not thinking I'll be back. read more

I'm all about the swings at the bar. I got food here to go and definitely swung as I waited. Stopped here later at night and ready for some tasty food, beanies was just the right place. I got veggie fajitas and a guacamole appetizer. The fajitas and beans and rice were slightly bland but not bad! Overall yummy stuff! They gave us a huge bag of chips, there was 5 of us and we barely made a dent. Everyone enjoyed their food, they also gave us some sort of crispy cinnamon sugar chip thing, I didn't eat it but my brother said it was really good. I wish I could give them zero stars. This was by far the worst service I have ever received in my life. We were there for over an hour and still hadn't gotten our food. We asked countless times and were told that it was being cooked. They just kept telling us that they got a lot of tables so the kitchen is backed up. However, we saw tons of food going outside to the patio. When we spoke to the manager all she could really tell us was that everyone is waiting for their food, and they are backed up. Ordered a take-out. Mediocre at best. Was in the mood for a Strawberry Margarita, ordered one and it totally tasted like SYRUP. It was disgusting. Our waitress was a sweetheart and she was prompt but the food was not great at all...i actually lost my appetite looking at it. I ordered Chimichangas and my husband Enchiladas. My chimi's were made in old oil and when i cut into it, it looked like sloppy joe mix! Mind you, my chimi's were chicken. This seasoning is NOT authentic...it tasted like the Taco Bell taco seasoning mixed with other seasonings. This restaurant is catered to the area with taste and prices! I have been here many times on different occasions for either lunch, dinner, or drinks. I enjoy their specialty cocktails and the margaritas are pretty good. I am a huge fan of Mexican food. The food is good, but I don't feel it's authentic enough. Perhaps I was spoiled living in an area of Milwaukee for so long with authentic Mexican food and taco trucks. But when it comes to Mexican restaurants in the Port/Saukville area, I would choose this place over any other. The service is ok and the prices are pretty reasonable. They also have outdoor seating and swings to sit on at the bar. Just don't have too many margaritas while sitting on the swings! :) read more
