Actually so mad that I didn't try Lobster & Beer in Palms earlier. Great happy hour menu. The lobster tacos and quesadilla had the perfect ratio of meat to fixings. I enjoyed the coconut shrimp as well - would probably skip the calamari fries next time just because I don't like it in fry format lol. Service is also amazing and warm. Connecticut Lobster Roll - Love that warmth of the roll, however, for the price I would've loved to see more lobster packed into it. The lobster sits on the surface a little more than I'd like. Had the best happy hour lunch here!!! Came with a group of friends and ordered a variety of things to share and everything was great no complaints. The barbacoa fries are the best appetizer and we loved the lobster rolls. Happened across this place with a coworker while we were trying to find a place to grab a beer and watch the World Cup. This place was cozy, and the fish and chips were really good! The breading on the fish was light and the chips were crispy and hot, and not greasy--a perfect compliment to my pilsner. The menu was pretty extensive so I went with a staple for my first time there. The staff greeted and thanked everyone that came and went while I was there. Ordered for pickup and it was ready in 10 minutes! There was easy street parking and the server was nice. Clean interior with plenty of seating indoors and outside. Delicious lobster mac and cheese! Sooo cheezyyy, creamy, and perfectly chewy macaroni with a mix of shredded lobster. Very heavy so perfect for sharing. The Connecticut lobster roll came on a buttered toasted roll with pieces of lobster and mayo. A bit small but had fresh lobster and was presented well. What an incredible little hidden gem in Los Angeles! I was driving through coming home from a business trip and needed to cap off my per diem with something tasty. The little Lobster and Beer caught my eye with their all day happy hour--LOBSTER TACOS for UNDER $20?? (they're $13!!) I was cautiously optimistic, so we made a stop. It was NOT too good to be true! We got so muchfrom that happy hour menu and left so happily full of lobster. The happy hour lobster tacos were small but stuffed with fresh, sweet lobster. I'd suggest not using the included salsa to get the full flavor. We also got the coconut shrimp, which were plump and juicy with the right amount of breading. Even the shrimp roll was full of fresh shrimp that was blackened to perfection on a delicious butter toasted roll. I can confirm this place uses GOOD fries, as the tots and fries mix was crispy, salty, amazing. Off the happy hour menu we got the lobster bisque (a little more bisque than lobster but that's how bisque goes) and a salad (why did we get salad?). They were good sides to the main event but nothing worth writing home about. We were tempted by the beer list but with an hour of a drive ahead of us we decided to forgo an accompanying beer, but know that they definitely have you covered if, like me, you enjoy your fried seafood with a cold one. We stumbled on Lobster and Beer in Santa Monica during a day trip to the Pier. It's tiny, tucked into an odd-shaped space with a small outside eating area. The fellow behind the counter was pleasant and helpful, explaining that the difference between a Connecticut Lobster Roll and a Maine Lobster Roll is that one is hot, the other cold. We ordered the Connecticut roll. It came quickly and was almost too pretty to eat, but we did and enjoyed it very much. Then, the counter person came by with a Maine roll, saying they had made an extra roll for someone else's order and offered it to us. We graciously accepted and thoroughly enjoyed it, too. The lobster had no flavor. It came with hot butter, but it needed salt, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning something.... it was plain. Definitely more like a New England flavor(bland).. Not southerners at all. If you like that type of food, then this is a great place for you, but the sandwich was no more than 4 inches , three bites and you're done with very few lobster on it. The fries were frozen, but they came hot with basil sprinkled over it. I'm looking for a place that gives me a bang for my money and the food is amazing. Back again! I came here several times years ago pre-pandemic breakout and I've been dreaming of their lobster grilled cheese + tomato soup combo ever since. Their happy hour is DAILY from 11:30-7pm then 9-10pm and you'll save a few bucks on food and drinks so I recommend. My mom and I came on a weekday late lunch and the place was busy! They offer a large selection of beers and there's several TVs playing sporting events or movies so definitely a fun place to visit! While the aesthetics are more hole-in-the-wall style sports bar than anything else; the food is to die for. Parking in Palms is challenging. There are some free street parking spots available on Motor the block before the restaurant and there are also some free spots on Palms by the school and then onto the small street of the school, located about a block away. Lobster grilled cheese 5/5, this comes w a side of tomato soup that's also incredible and the sourdough bread + grilled cheese with lobster is a winning combo. So glad I came back to have this again. The first time I came here was kind of an odd experience--there were basketball games on the TV screens but they also had a guy walking around singing? He was good but I was confused. If you want the most lobster possible and probably the best bang for your buck, definitely go for the Lobster Roll! The guy who took my order (tall man behind the bar) was so condescending and acted defensive and mad to be working. Both he and waiter treated us rudely. He was arguing with me when I asked if this was where I should place my order, and he looked at me like I was dumb, and told me that I order with him (but the tone was completely patronizing) and when I finished he literally walked away without taking. I had to finish the payment process after he walked away, no thank you, or directions on how to get my order. I witnessed the bartender/cashier act this way with a others guest so it wasn't just us.
