It's kind of hilarious that I've actually mistaken this place for another place. I had to double take to make sure it was the right one because I remembered it being somewhere else. But I was glad I came to this place. Love the atmosphere. It was energetic, a bit loud, and has a cooled retro night bar with neon signs. The alcohol display behind the bar was a spectacular view/design. It's high, making it looking pretty against the dim backdrop. We ordered four dishes, Dan Dan Mian, sichuan eggplant, chili wonton, and duck bao. The Dan Dan was unique. I didn't expect it to be spicy like all the other ones I've tried. But it was amazing! I went there to order take out. They take your order on the curb, and then there's a take out window for window. It only took about 10 minutes which was nice. Parking was easy with plenty of metered parking out front. The Dan Dan Mian had interesting thick wavy noodles, almost like lasagne noodles sliced up. The sauce was unique yet good. The chili wontons were just okay, and probably not the best for take out as it got kind of soggy. The standing was surprisingly the Asian Greens. It had garlic and was very flavorful. I've heard good things about Little Fatty and the Accompliace Bar cocktail menu from several people and finally had a chance to check it out. The drinks rotate and I was bummed that I didn't get a chance to try the Ube martini. I got the All Betts are off which is made is guava infused mazcal and it was pretty strong. The smokiness from the mazcal and a hint of fruit gave this drink a unique taste. I will definitely order it again. I also had the bad bunny, I expected it to be slightly sweet from the orange and carrot foam but it was also made with mazcal, and the smokiness took over. Still good, but not what I was expecting. Another person got the Big Strawbowski and she said it was really thick, it had brandy in it and said it tasted like a dessert cocktail. She also had the Fast Car which was mostly ice. She seemed to like it. Apps: the crispy wontons were cooked perfectly. Had a good favor and one of my favorite dish of the night. The squid Ink Xiao long baos were ok, but we let it sit a little too long and it was cold and chewy by the time we actually ate it. So the flavors were ok, it didn't really stand out to me. Mains: the garlic noodles dish did not taste like garlic noodles. I honestly didn't even taste the garlic, but maybe because as a garlic lover, I over use garlic in every thing haha. The orange chicken was also decent, it was light, perfectly sticky and tasty. The walnut shrimp was also decent, well battered and had a nice flavor. Our server was very nice and answered all the questions we had, me from inquiring about the drinks to my friend's dietary restrictions. I stopped by with a friend on a weekday for dinner and we made a reservation ahead of time, although it seemed there were plenty of reservation slots available. Ambiance is stylish and dim inside, and it started to get quite loud inside. Service was attentive throughout our meal. What we tried: - Beef roll ($22) - with scallion pancake wrapped around wagyu beef, chili mayo, served with a side of beef broth. I loved this one, every bite was a burst of flavors and textures and the combination was so tasty! - Squid ink Xiao long bao ($18) - shrimp and pork dumplings, these were good but pretty standard compared to other XLB I've had - 3 cup chicken ($21) - made with garlic, ginger, green onion, Thai basil, dried chili. The chicken was so tender and the dish super garlicky which I loved. Goes well with rice, but is a bit on the salty side - XO fatty noodles ($20) - rolled chow fun with bean sprouts, garlic chives, and XO sauce. For parties of 8 and larger, there is a minimum spend of $75 per person prior to tax & gratuity. No-show fee = $15 per person. [Experience]: The receptionist greeted our party just outside of the restaurant and checked us in. Outdoor tables were available, but our party opted for indoor seating. The lighting was dim with a romantic and casual dinner vibe. At the end of the meal, the staff offered our table hot towels to clean our hands. The dough was a bit thick and the flavor was just alright. XO Fatty Noodles (rolled rice noodles, XO sauce, bean sprouts, garlic chives, fried shallots - $22.00): The noodles tasted slightly salty. I couldn't tell whether I had sliced pork belly or flat noodles in the dim lighting and it turned out to be thick slices of flat noodles. Orange Chicken (orange soy-based sauce, dried chilies, orange zest - $22.00): Super crispy orange chicken, but it was crunchy type of crispy and tasted a bit dry. Walnut Shrimp (mayo, candied walnuts, sesame seeds, red cabbage - $25.00): his dish came with lettuce and looked really nice. The flavor was solid and it tasted very healthy. *** Personally it was an overpriced experience for mediocre Asian fusion food. The food is decent but don't expect authentic Taiwanese food here. It's more a fusion spot where people come for the vibes. It's mostly dark inside and does feel nice. However the food was less savory and or spicy to the original flavors you may expect. The chili oil wontons were decent but did not carry the authentic spicy taste. The eggplant was okay but not stand out. The squid ink XLB was pretty good though. I also had the mango sticky rice which was decent. What a pleasant surprise the moment you walk in! The ambiance was cozy and clean. I love the decor and set up and color choices of everything there. We had Stacy as our server and she was amazing. 5/5 for all the drinks we tried. They rotate their menu every now and then so it just sounds like I'll have to come back this way at some point when they do that again! Every flavor was well thought out and very well balanced. The scallion pancakes were delicious! - but Southern China actually doesn't really do that much . The chili wontons were good. But they are different than the ones you'll order at most other Asian places. They use the full soup type of wonton to put in the chili oil/sauce. The squid ink xiao long bao was either not fresh or overcooked. The texture of the wrap was soggy. First bite of my shaking beef was amazing! And then the table next to us asked them for a knife because the meat was tough. I disagreed in my mind until I took my second bite of meat. - and it took me about 5 solid minutes of chewing before I could actually eat it. Also over salted. I think the hainanese chicken was what I am so sad over. Whaaaat happeneddddd? The dip was the best part. First, the chicken was warm. Should be cold.. The chicken was tender but it was more soft than silky so it seemed over cooked rather than slow poached. And it almost tasted like they used curry instead of tumeric - To include on the rice. I thought the rice was fine so I took it to go and fed it to my kid but then he asked me to put soy sauce on it . Sesame balls were good. Smaller than what I'm use to seeing but they have a good portion of it. Enough of the food critic snob that I've become. I would come here again. Mainly for their cocktails. This place has all the elements of a great Taiwanese/Chinese restaurant. We went here based on yelp ratings and it did not disappoint. Food & Drink: We were in a big group so got to try a few items. My favorites were scallion pancakes, beef chow fun, sichuan eggplant, and xo fatty noodles. They have a great selection of cocktails and all are so good. I loved the Apple martini and their old-fashioned. Ambiance: We were seated outside so didn't get much of the indoor seating's flavor. Service: We walked in on a Sunday evening but it was quite busy. The food is tremendous; the drinks are spectacular; the staff and bartenders are even larger than life. Oh, it's a whole vibe at Little Fatty! We were visiting from the east coast, and decided to frequent my west coat brother's favorite watering hole. Boy, did he make a good suggestion! Matt and Jason are his favorite bartenders--and I understand why. They are attentive and even artistic with their cocktail presentations. Jason schooled us on the varying kinds of tequila, and we learned about the purity of true tequila and how it differs from a mezcal. Then, when we switched to bourbon, whiskey, and scotch. Jason introduced us to Adam. Adam was amazing! He knows his browns! We left with a plethora of knowledge about several elusive brands, and we can't wait to find a bottle or two soon as we get home. We could have sat there all night just discussing the levels and intricacies of liquor. The only thing that paled to the cocktail conversations was the food! Simply put, it was spectacular. After a trip to Taiwan, all I craved was Taiwanese food for weeks. Being further from SGV has made options sparse as well. I found Little Fatty and it was helpful in satisfying my Taiwanese food craving for a bit. Items that stood out for me the most were the vegetables, mapo tofu, and the sesame balls. All pretty tasty and good for Taiwanese fusion. Their beef noodle soup and scallion pancakes were fine, but I felt the soup for the BNS was much saltier than it should be, and the scallion pancakes lacked traditional flavors. I also got garlic noodles for fun, and while it was tasty and I probably wouldn't order it again. The service there was fantastic! Everyone was very friendly and the food came out quickly! I think that if you're looking for a yummy bar for drinks as well as more fusion Taiwanese (with more emphasis on the Fusion) this is the place to check out! Pretty good! Some of the dishes were hits, some were okay. Service was great! A little pricey, but also understandable I came with a large group and we ordered a bunch of different dishes. Cucumbers, Scallion Pancake, Beef Rolls, Orange Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Sichuan Eggplant, Wontons, Dan Dan Mian, Beef Chow Fun, Garlic Noodles, and some ice cream for dessert. Standouts: Scallion Pancake (simple, yet delicious), Orange Chicken (done well, crispy, sweet and savory) , Cucumbers (so flavorful, loved these cucumbers), and Sichuan Eggplant (I loved the flavor and I love eggplant, but it was pretty greasy). The dishes that I thought I would enjoy more were the Beef Rolls and the Mapo Tofu. Noodle dishes were solid. Overall, some missed the mark on flavor and I found a lot of the dishes to be pretty oily. The ice cream was mid and pretty skippable. It was also December so I ordered their alcoholic hot chocolate. You could either put Chartreuse or Tequila in the hot chocolate, so I opted for Chartreuse since I did NOT want tequila in my dessert drink. I don't think Chartreuse ended up being a good choice for the hot chocolate as it ended up being too herbal for the drink. I didn't think it was the right flavor combinations. Didn't realize this was more of a "bar scene" than it was just a good restaurant. At least on a Saturday night. I say this because we were just looking for a good Chinese restaurant to go to. And the fact that they have hainan chicken and mapo tofu on their menu was enough to get me to drive 30 minutes to the westside for a decent meal. Everything we ordered was great, the hainan chicken & rice, garlic noodles and the bbq pork shank. That pork shank was a last-minute eye hungry impulsive choice. So much so that I didn't notice the $42 price tag. Was it worth it? No. But it was delicious and became leftovers for me! I don't understand the excess in pricing of Hainan chicken at $22 when you can have the finest authentic ones for half the price in Alhambra/San Gabriel. But I understand the markups for hipster spots. But is it justifiable? Not so sure. The pork shank is gorgeous and shareable. And it was delicious! The 4 stars is for the excellent service. There was no way we were going to be seated at 7:45pm on a Saturday night without a reservation. But they suggested the bar and we were seated right away. A typical negative for me is parking, and it's street meter parking only, unless you want to pay the much higher parking rates in the post office's public parking lot across the street, which would've been 11 bucks that I'd rather pay to a valet. I grew up in this neighborhood, and it's nice to see places like this here now. it's clearly a popular place because of the long lineup waiting to be seated. If you're looking for a place with a bar, good food and loud ambiance, this is your place. But if you're looking to just have a good meal at a good Chinese restaurant, maybe don't go here to take up bar space for others who just wanna have a drink, a date, or a celebration. It's that type of place, Otherwise, they have a takeout window. The walnut shrimp was pretty good, though it was served on a large bed of red cabbage that didn't really add anything to the dish. The Dan Dan noodles were my least favorite--they were very heavy, lacked the bold spice and depth of flavor I was expecting, and the sauce reminded me more of a Ragu-style meat sauce than a traditional Dan Dan noodle. That said, I know this place is also known for its cocktails, so it's possible that pairing the food with drinks would make for a better overall experience. read more

We flew into LAX and didn't really feel like messing with the traffic so we decided to go have dinner. My son wanted Chinese so I randomly pick this place based off of the reviews. The restaurant was busy when it came to reservations so the hostess was able to fit us in, but gave us a warning that we would only have about an hour and a half, which was totally fine because we didn't plan to spend all night there. Just wanted to eat and get out. The hostess was really sweet and accommodating, so we were just grateful that we were able to get in and eat. I cannot remember everything we got, but the picture is pretty spot on on most things. The food was so good chefs kiss! Everything that we ordered was fresh and hot. The waitress was very nice and was accommodating when it came to, describing all the sauces and the food, if we lived closer, this restaurant would see me here every weekend! The restaurant itself is a good size. The vibe is a very trendy looks like a great place to maybe be a first date. Unfortunately, we didn't get anything to drink alcohol wise, but all of the drinks look so good. I cannot believe I haven't been here before now! As a local, I tend to get complacent with the usuals around the neighborhood, but last night I decided to pop in here, grab a bite before a concert. I am so glad that I did Food: let's just start with this pork shank, so tender, flavorful, and just plain unbelievably delicious Chicken fried rice, I would eat this as a full meal Green bean, sautéed and mushrooms chopped finally so it seems like you're eating green beans and chicken. Again, so flavorful, fresh and delicious. The ladies behind the bar, making drinks are very pleasant and know exactly what they're doing. Although this place looks incredibly tiny from the outside, we didn't have to wait and it was really nice eating at the bar. Next time a reservation will be made as I would like to sit in a comfy booth and take some time and discover more of the dishes and the different drinks, like one of the 20 or so Japanese whiskeys that they have behind the bar. I can't say enough great things about little fatty. You're missing out if you don't come here. We ordered the cucumber as an app, the beef chow fun, the chicken fried rice, and Asian greens. All of it was lit. Book choy was too good. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us. Service - our server was awesome. From greeting to end, he was the right amount of attentive and was super helpful with suggestions. Everyone from the food runner to the busser, they were all so nice. From getting us chili paste or to go containers, customer service was on point. Parking - love love that are a few parking spaces right out front. They're metered. But after 8pm it was free so perfect for us. It's a good blend of Taiwanese and Asian fusion flavor. I wouldn't say it's authentic Taiwanese flavor, but it's good tasting Asian fusion. I especially liked their take on the BBQ pork with buns. I wanted to try this place because I saw the name while scrolling on Yelp and thought it was so funny! We walked in on a Thursday night and were seated after a 10 minute wait. They have a "Fatty Mart" around the corner to kill time at. My friend had the "Fatty Folds" scallion pancake wrap halfway down his throat when we received a text that our table was ready at Little Fatty. The inside of Little Fatty was dark and moody, lit only by the glow of the looming bar. I entertained this atmosphere by ordering a cocktail. I had the Scotch Thai Tea. Boozy, creamy, and delicious. Stronger than I expected.  Our server was nice. In lieu of bread, we were served complimentary sesame rice crackers with sweet chili sauce. My friends didn't like the sauce, but I did.  The meal started strong. The beef roll appetizer was very good. The scallion pancake pastry was flaky. When dipped in broth, the beef roll was juicy and succulent. It tends to fall apart a bit, but we didn't mind. The Chinese BBQ Pork was definitely the star though. The meat was tender and sweet. The accompaniments were perfect. I loved the presentation of the entire shank on a tray with a carving knife - very rustic and chic.  Unfortunately, a couple of dishes fell flat for me. I thought the garlic noodles were bland. I also thought the Hainan chicken was lackluster. The chicken was fine, but anyone familiar with Hainanese chicken rice knows that the rice is the centerpiece of this dish. The rice, in contrast to the chicken, felt a bit too dry and was not infused with the amount of flavor I would've expected. I noticed that the meat dishes at Little Fatty tended to shine whereas noodle and rice dishes left something to be desired. My friends mentioned that they had been previously unimpressed by the XO Fatty Noodles they got through delivery. I would suggest the kitchen revisit this section of their menu. I seriously had high hopes for Little Fatty based on all the reviews as well as how long I wanted to try it - ever since it had opened! This is another long overdue review, but when I went with my friend, we had the orange chicken as well as an eggplant dish. The orange chicken was good enough to get the job done, but the eggplant dish was really heavy on sweet sauce. Service was rather slow, which was fine since we were just catching up anyway. Some of the food here is amazing, and some of the food here is not. The Chinese barbecue pork is amazing, it is packed with flavor and the skin has a nice crust. I would order this time and time again! The 3 cup chicken is super tender and wild flavored as well however, there's barely any chicken. And the green beans, those are a past for me. They are not made like normal stir fried Asian green beans, instead they seem to be steamed and lacking in flavor. Was very pleased that I was able to get a patio reservation at this Venice local spot. We arrived a little early and the hostess was able to accommodate and even mentioned that we had made it in time to have happy hour drinks! The chill restaurant has really good modern takes on Taiwanese dishes. We started with the beef roll and over ordered for a party of two with 3 cup chicken, fatty noodles and eggplant (with one bowl of rice). We came here on a Saturday night with a 5:15pm reservation - the only time we could get 24 hours in advance! When we arrived, it was pretty empty. There were plenty of available tables, though it seemed like there were no empty seats at the bar. By the time we left around 6:30/6:45pm, the place was packed! Parking was easy for us, but again, it was 5:15pm. We found a street spot right across the street and paid the meter. The menus were available on our phones, which isn't my favorite. But given the dark mood lighting, it made things easier to see. The cocktails were fun and creative; I'd come here just for a drink. But the food!! The food was delicious - I especially loved the garlic noodles. Since it was still happy hour when we arrived, we started with the Fried Chicken Bao from the happy hour menu. Between two of us, we had: - Fried Chicken Bao - Salt n' Pepper Tofu - Orange Chicken - Garlic Noodles The portions were significant - we brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. read more

Busy restaurant, we had a 30 minute wait as a walk in on the weekend. Cool ambiance. Several vegetarian dishes. The eggplant and the ma Po tofu were quite tasty. Both dishes were quite greasy. Definitely worth checking out. read more
