Food is amazing and the service was great! Try their clam chowder and lobster roll!!!

Stopped by for my birthday and ended up jus sharing a meal. got the combo plate, fish was cooked perfect, scallops and clams was a bit over done. The shrimp for the most part was under cooked. Not sure if they are cooked individually or combined. Staff was fantastic and very prompt and friendly. Overall, great place to stop by for a meal. read more

Was a great night for seafood so went to the lobster boat sat outside. Had a cold beer the service was excellent and fast got a lazy man's lobster and it came with fries hot butter and let me tell you it was delicious also had the clambake lobster with steamer's they were excellent everything was great. read more

I attempted to address my disappointment to the person who was listed as manager of this restaurant and avoid a public post on YELP, but received no response. Maybe there's another manager, or maybe an owner will see this. Below, I've attached the text of my email. Dear Mr. Wiles-Haffner, Rather than posting my disappointment on Yelp, I decided to address this issue with management directly. I didn't want to discuss this with the manager on duty at the time, but feel like someone higher up the chain should be aware of this feedback and use it as a training issue. On June13, 2026, I had a craving for fried clams. My wife and I usually drive from Londonderry to your Litchfield restaurant when we want seafood, but decided to stay closer to home and stop in the new Fish and Chix restaurant a mile from our house. After my wife ordered, I ordered the equivalent of your seafood platter and I was told that they were all out of clams. We cancelled my wife's order and I went outside to call your restaurant and ask if you had whole belly clams. The person answering said that they did, and I said we'll be right over! At The Litchfield location when asked for our order, I asked our server if I was going to be getting whole belly clams in my seafood platter. She confirmed that, and I explained to her that one time at your restaurant, I ordered a seafood platter and was served a fisherman's platter with clam strips instead so I wanted to be certain I'd be getting whole clams. She again confirmed that they had whole belly clams and that was what I'd be getting. When our food arrived, our server said they just ran out of clams so they gave me extra of everything else. I was in disbelief as I explained that I called before coming and left another restaurant specifically because I was told that they had clams, both on the phone, and by her! Our server told me that she just found out when they completed my order, minus the clams. She even said that she knew they were running low. Here's my issue: If the whole clams were running low, the person who answered the phone maybe should have known that, and if I had been informed, I wouldn't have taken a chance but rather would have stayed at the first restaurant. Next, if the server knew, which she said she did, she didn't mention it to me until afterwards, and most importantly, if the kitchen knew that they didn't have enough whole belly clams to complete my order, they should have told the server so she could have given me the option of ordering something else. I really wanted the clams, not only clams, but that was the main reason I went there. I understand that food runs out on occasion in your business, but the customer shouldn't be surprised with a plate of food that's missing something that he ordered. (Especially when it's the main reason he chose to dine there.) I have to mention that the server was apologetic and did nothing wrong. She was caught off guard as well, and I think a little embarrassed or maybe upset that the kitchen staff put her on the spot like that. The manager on duty was kind enough to reduce my bill to offset my disappointment, which was only right, I believe. I hope the on-duty manager spoke to the kitchen staff about communicating with servers when they are out of food and if the manager that night was aware of, or directed them to just give me more of the other items without giving me the choice, then I think that is something that you should be aware of. I still may go to The Lobster Boat in the future, as the food and service are both good, but the past two out of three times I've eaten there, I have been surprised and disappointed by not receiving what I ordered when my food arrived. I hope you will do me the courtesy of at least acknowledging receipt of this email. read more

My mom wanted seafood so I took her here. The seafood was excellent. I would have given it a five star if it wasn't for how long we waited for our food. People who came in after us got their food before us. It took so long that people on either side of us started joking about us not getting any food. Also you have to be aware that the fisherman's platter would come with small shrimp and Bay scallops. You have to ask for the large shrimp and the sea scallops. It will be an extra charge. read more

Nice small local spot. They have lunch specials that I took advantage of. Got a lobster roll warm with butter and it came with a clam chowder and I upgraded to onion rings. All really good, worth every penny. Good value. Customer service was also really good. read more

Last week we had a party of 8 show up at 5:50 and we had a little wait until they could put together a few tables to accommodate us. It was well worth the wait, the lobster rolls were perfect. We ordered all sorts of different meals and everyone left very happy. The staff are friendly and efficient, our diverse meals came out together so the kitchen timing was right on. read more

First time in 5 years of going the food was not good. And the waitress was not much. She never came to ask if everything was okay, never asked if we wanted refills on drinks. Fried clams were soo. over cooked, they were crunchy.CRUNCHY. OMG. I could not eat them. I should have sent them back but I just can't do that. read more

We went yesterday. The onion nuggets and dipping sauce were the best thing we had! My husband got the shrimp and bay scallops. They were very light colored, not browned at all and were soggy. He did get a lot of them on his plate compared to what I got but, they weren't cooked enough. I asked and was told by the waitress that the clams would have small to medium bellies. Great! Just the way I like them! I ordered a 2-way combo with clams and sea scallops. When my meal arrived I was shocked to see what I got for $33.50 There were 6 medium scallops, and 6 clams with HUGE bellies! The scallops were delicious but the clams were very soggy. I brought this to my waitress' attention. She was very nice and removed the meal from our bill. I asked her if this was the "large" plate because that was what I ordered. She said it was! Well, what is on the small plate? 3 of each? Yikes! Seriously though. $33.50 for 6 scallops and 6 clams? We used to go to the Lobster Boat in Exeter before it closed. I always got the same thing....clams and scallops. There was always a large amount of both! They were cooked to perfection too! We were heartbroken when they closed. I had a fried scallop, haddock and shrimp plate with onion rings and my grandson had a baked scallop and haddock plate. The food was very good, the fried food had a light batter and both were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean and cozy feeling. They have a variety of choices on their menu in addition to the fried, baked and steamed seafood options, they had hamburgers, sirloin tips and more. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Visiting relatives in New Hampshire, I was wanting some fried clams for dinner. I was taken to the Lobsrer Boat restaurant, and wow! What great food and GREAT service from Sophia! She is the best! Not to mention the clam strips and onion rings were the best ever too! I'm just sorry we only went here once, the night before leaving New Hampshire! I hope to come back in the near future (I live in California) and try some of their other delicious food! Oh ya, the blueberry pie and ice cream for dessert was the bomb! Take out. Portion size wasn't what I expected. I know seafood has gotten ridiculously expensive but 5 scallop and 5 shrimps sauted in butter for $27?? Hardly worth the price really. The broccoli side well cooked but the portion small. Broccoli is cheaper so why not be a little more generous? I will say the seafood was nicely prepared. My sister's lobster was a little overbaked and her portion smaller but overall the quality of the seafood and sides was good. Great cook. Knows how to prepare seafood. Prices are sign of the times I think. I'll need to skip and cook at home. read more

I've heard good things so I decided to check it out. It met those expectations! They have nice patio seating (music was a little loud but when Elton John is playing it's all good by me!) The food was delicious. I ordered a grill chicken that MELTED in my mouth! French Fries were decent. Good portions for the price. Very accommodating in service and friendly staff. My party did mention to next time try the "bay" scallops Vs the HUGE Sea Scallops but otherwise it was very good. Sidenote: Two Unisex bathrooms! Had lunch with 2 friends at the Lobster Boat Restaurant today. Two of us ordered Haddock & Scallops from the lunch menu. The fish is seasoned with cracker crumbs and baked. It comes with a small but delicious side of cole slaw. I chose Rice Pilaf for my other side & my friend chose a baked potato. It comes with tartar sauce. We really enjoyed our meals. They were just the right size for lunch and we didn't leave a speck on our plates. My other friend ordered the Medley from the dinner menu. It came with generous portions of lobster, shrimp & sea scallops. Her side was mashed potatoes. She said the meal was good except for the lobster which was kind of chewy. She brought half of it home and got a bowl of chowder to go, as well. I had a Fiddlehead IPA & my friends each had a glass of wine. Our server, Darlene, was friendly and professional. Wow! We found a great place to eat lobster in New Hampshire! We wanted seafood, and we got it! We called up the restaurant to make sure they take a reservation, just in case. The girl who took our reservation was Meghan. We arrived, and we asked for Meghan. Surprise surprise, our waitress was Meghan, the one who reserved our table, perfect! We ordered lazy lobster, fried clam belly, lobster corn chowder soup, and salad. I like them all! I liked lazy lobster the most. It wasn't a lot but enough to fill me up. The lobster corn chowder was great too. Clam belly didn't disappoint either but I liked the one in Cape Cod better. Order lazy lobster! That's the best! The restaurant is quite big, enough to accommodate social distancing crowd. We enjoyed our dinner, and the service was excellent too. Thank you! read more
