Jerry's Seafood is located in Bowie near the Bowie Town Center and there was ample parking. We came in and were shown to our table. The ambiance was minimalistic Cap Cod vibes with wood beam walls with touches of nautical items (ship wheels and pictures of tin-canned oyster containers). Our server, Eddie, was excellent. He was engaging, informative, and just had a wonderful vibe throughout our dining experience. He started us off with a basket of rolls: hot and fresh with softened butter. Our meal was starting off just as we'd hope. We started with the fresh crab dip which was rich and creamy topped with jumbo lump crab, chives and a touch of Old Bay served hot with a sliced baguette. This was my first time experiencing a crab dip so LIGHT and creamy. The Old Bay was not overwhelming, just the perfect compliment to the fresh, sweet jumbo lump crab. The baguettes were more than enough and were crisp on one side and soft on the other. This dip was exceptional. Next was our entree, the crab bomb was served with two sides ( we got the seasoned wedges and stewed tomatoes). The stewed tomatoes were fresh with a sweetness that brought back memories. The wedges were perfect: pillowy soft inside with a crisp seasoned coating. Now the crab bomb....this was exceptional: 10 ounces of all lump crab, baked to perfection; no need for additional seasonings or even a sauce; maybe a squeeze of fresh lemon. It was so sweet and delicate; one of the best I have had in a while. We also got a Mariner's Platter to go: a six ounce crab cake, flounder, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fried oysters, and fries scallops with two sides ( we chose two garden salads). The platter was a bit skimpy for $63 and it was just okay for us; the scallops were not edible AT ALL: they had a metallic taste that was present on the first bite, that was disappointing (this dropped our score from a 5 to 4 stars). The salads were fresh and we got the honey/lemon dressing. That dressing was SO good! I usually don't go for creamy dressing like this, BUT this dressing was so unexpectedly good! All in all, a great meal that I will drive to Bowie again for with no hesitation (except for the Mariner's Platter).

Dining area & restrooms are bright, clean and inviting. My brother ordered fried fish with a chicken wing,, cabbage and sweet potatoes. He loved the fish & chicken- well seasoned without feeling your blood pressure rise as you indulged- LOL. The sides were good. I did the smothered porkchops - WOW, best that I have had - really enjoyed the main entrée and my sides (greens, black-eye peas). Both meals came with cornbread (another option was a biscuit). I have to say the food, the Staff and the establishment has been my best taste of southern cooking in the DMV area. I ordered chicken wings (6) to go for wife & I to enjoy later. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back - The smothered chops are calling me already. Lunch for two with a take home order of wings & 2 deserts plus tip was around $100.

The fish (catfish and croaker) always tastes like it's been fried in grease that needs changing. There's no flavor profile in the food which is weird for a soul-food restaurant. The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back. I paid $65 for fried catfish with two sides, fried croaker with two sides, a cookie and two drinks---and sadly, the only thing that was sort of worth it was the cornbread, but it tastes like it has coconut in it. I hate coconut.

Have you ever felt like the world is conspiring against you? Like it doesn't want you to be happy?…read moreFor instance, why is this establishment so far from my house? Why is the sauce so good? Flavorful and buttery without the heavy garlic. Try the Lemon Pepper/Cajun blend. Why is the seafood so fresh? No fishy taste. Why are the hush puppies little balls of happiness? Soft in the middle with a firm bite. Why was the strawberry lemonade so refreshing? It wasn't even house made, yet it tasted amazing. The space itself has somewhat dim lighting with a large bar, perfect for drinks and seafood boils. Or seafood baskets. Or wings. Or various other appetizers. Parking is plentiful and TVs are placed strategically throughout. They also have a 90-minute AYCE special. I wasn't feeling adventurous and the entire table needs to partake, but it's worth it if you have a huge appetite. The table across from us ordered shooters but we wanted to save room for the boil :D Would I return? Absolutely. 100%. Worth every single penny, and the waitress also made sure that we were comfortable. The Pick 3 for $39.99 is an excellent deal. ***This also looks like a place that stalkers would NOT be welcome. Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The waitress we had was amazing. I can't remember her name, but she had lime green nails and she was amazing. I love her so much. She made sure that we were taken care of and she gave us boxes cause I didn't finish my food. I was there with a friend. We had good conversation. She made me a mango lemonade without the lemon in it. Praise God cause I don't like lemon in my drinks. The ambience was good. We got there at around 1:30 PM. It wasn't too crowded yet which was beautiful but as soon as we left, of course they turned up the music just a little louder. We stayed for maybe an hour and a half maybe almost 2 hours. They had great songs on the radio, but it wasn't so loud when we couldn't hear each other talking, like I said when we left the music, I turned up just a little bit, but it was a great great food. Great service from start to finish and my friend. He left her a great tip because she was that amazing. I loved her green nails. They were beautiful so I will be returning well.
