Yes, be prepared for the prices. A lot of the menu is listed as market price, and you may have a little "ooh!" moment when you see the bill . But the quality absolutely matched the price. This was the kind of food that makes you want to go back in the kitchen and slap the chef -- respectfully, of course! We started with the complimentary sourdough bread, followed by the Cream of Crab Soup, which was hands down one of the best I've ever had. Creamy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. The Crab Dip was phenomenal too. You could actually TASTE the crab instead of a bunch of filler. Hubby and I both went for the famous Crab Bombs. I had the Baby Bomb with shrimp, and it was more than enough food. Hubby had the full Crab Bomb, and we both ended up leaving with doggy bags. The crab cakes were packed with REAL crab and NO FILLER, which we absolutely appreciated. Even the coleslaw tasted homemade from scratch, and as an Old Bay lover, I appreciated having Old Bay right on the table so I could add a little extra seasoning. My only warning: come prepared for the price. It is definitely on the expensive side, but we didn't mind paying for it because the portions were generous and the seafood quality was excellent. The fish (catfish and croaker) always tastes like it's been fried in grease that needs changing. There's no flavor profile in the food which is weird for a soul-food restaurant. The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back. I paid $65 for fried catfish with two sides, fried croaker with two sides, a cookie and two drinks---and sadly, the only thing that was sort of worth it was the cornbread, but it tastes like it has coconut in it. I hate coconut. The item that was the most flavorful for me was the black eyed peas/hoppin John (minus the big pieces of fatty meat in them).

I was intrigued by the reviews on the Cave Monster crabs ( even though I wanted something a little less daunting to enjoy my Friday evening ) I settled on the Jumbo crabs, 30pc large shrimps, crab dip ( that I could warm up at home ) and this pineapple drink concoction that ended up changing my entire perspective on what a fruit drink should taste like. The jumbo crabs were meaty and had the right amount of juiciness to them ( A- for sure ) the shrimps had that firm texture, with a cool amount of seasoning ( B+ all day ) and the pineapple juice was everything and then more... oh my, I'll go back weekly just to taste this amazing creation ( and eating the actual fruit after I finished the drink was WOW !! ) If you haven't already you have to give this juice a try ( A+++ and more !!! ) The Crab Galley is definitely my go to for my crab cravings to close out the summer...and next weekend I'm going to give the Cave Monster a try !!!!

What I found interesting was stopping at Safeway in route home, they had some king crabs on sale and so I also grabbed a few of those and shrimps as well just to compare...& it was half the price of what I spent. Anyhoo-the crabs and shrimps were pretty good! And the hush puppies I thought were a bit over cooked. My shrimp salad I ended up returning. When i opened it, the smell was terrible! Very fishy.
