I have to first say I enjoy this place. I love their shrimp basket with french fries their cocktail sauce and they're Yum Yum sauce. It was delicious. It was divine the service. The waitress we had was amazing. I can't remember her name, but she had lime green nails and she was amazing. I love her so much. She made sure that we were taken care of and she gave us boxes cause I didn't finish my food. I was there with a friend. We had good conversation. She made me a mango lemonade without the lemon in it. Praise God cause I don't like lemon in my drinks. The ambience was good. We got there at around 1:30 PM. It wasn't too crowded yet which was beautiful but as soon as we left, of course they turned up the music just a little louder. We stayed for maybe an hour and a half maybe almost 2 hours. They had great songs on the radio, but it wasn't so loud when we couldn't hear each other talking, like I said when we left the music, I turned up just a little bit, but it was a great great food. Great service from start to finish and my friend. He left her a great tip because she was that amazing. I loved her green nails. They were beautiful so I will be returning well. I returned a lot, but I never eaten on the inside. I've always gotten my orders to go. Time I ate on the inside and it was wonderful and it was clean very clean super clean it smelt like clean and yummy food when I walk in the door she didn't offer us any specials cause we knew exactly what we wanted my friend got the hot honey wings. They were pretty good. They were too spicy for me so he shared one with me, but they were delicious but my shrimp and french fry and I got hush puppies with honey. Everything was TWISTED about my experience here. The seafood boil was mediocre, even using the twisted special sauce. The prices were high. The service (front desk) was okay. She was sweet, but the manager was very nasty and not flexible. They don't do ANY substitutions. I wanted to sub a starch for a starch and vegetable for a vegetable. NOPE! They were very unreasonable, and the manager's tone was nasty. The only decent part of this experience was the decor. It was fitting for the type of restaurant and the bathroom was clean. My server Mika was the only person working when i stepped in. It wasn't that busy but it was busy enough for me to know she was working her butt OFF !! My drinks (she made) and food (she brought) came fast and I noticed she was also responsible for resetting tables. Stopped in Twisted crab while my car was charging. I was hungry but did not want to get my hands dirty so I ordered lemon pepper wings with Cajun fries. I wasn't a fan of The Twisted Crab. The experience overall was poor from the customer service, quality of food and ambiance. They had great choices in music selection but it wasn't enough to keep me. Initially, I was at the bar for a while before anyone came over for a greeting and this employee was on break but did come over to assist. Between this staff member and the actual bartender, both were engaged in phone conversations with AirPods in. So with that observation, it made for shot and abrupt responses, being rushed through options and just not welcoming. There was a bit of upset when I shared (at the start of my visit) that I didn't want an alcohol beverage because I was unsure. I got the wings, which weren't bad but I've experienced better. I absolutely love The Twisted Crab. I come here about once a week and always order the same thing in my seafood boil: 1/2 pound of shrimp (no head), 1/2 pound of mussels 1/2 pound of snow crab legs with garlic butter and Old Bay. Simple and perfect every time. The crab cakes are also really good. They're not traditional lump crab cakes, but they still hit the spot. I was with a small group in the Bowie area on a Saturday afternoon around 5- we decided to stop by for a drink and a quick bite. Overall, the restaurant was pretty empty but the bar was packed; there was no host at the welcome stand so we let ourselves in to find the bar. This spot has the potential to be a new go-to Bowie spot for me. The regular drink prices are really great - well drinks are $6, nicer cocktails are $7-10. Their happy hour drink specials (Mon - Thurs 3-6p and all day Sunday) are really great! There are only 3 small-ish TV's over the bar but I'm sure they'd still work for a gameday....especially with all day Sunday deals! We got well whiskey/gin drinks and a margarita; everything was solidly strong and tasty. Their food menu looks great, a typical variety of fried and steamed seafood options. We were just there for quick bites so we got the fried shrimp basket with shrimp for $13. The food was hot and crispy; the shrimp was well seasoned. I'd get the same thing the next time I return. Two areas of improvement: One, the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible - I found myself raising my voice to talk to the folks I was there with. I think this is because the space is essentially one large dining room with no separators or walls; everyone's noise seemed to collide with each others. Two, the service at the bar was a little slow - I'm giving the benefit of the doubt because the bar was crowded for most of the afternoon, but we found ourselves waiting for attention for longer than usual a couple of times. Overall, I'm glad I tried this spot - I definitely plan on returning to enjoy those great happy hour deals and fried shrimp. read more

I ordered the fried oyster basket. Pretty decent. Others ordered wings and fried shrimp baskets and had no complaints. This is not my first time here (just my first time reviewing on Yelp). Sooo many of these crab boil places have popped up in recent years but the food and ambience are pretty much identical. Some may have a bigger bar, more televisions, yada, yada but the budget friendly, casual, dine-in versus carry-out vibe is pretty much all the same. (Including MY favorite spot, Crafty Crab, in Clinton.) My daughter and I wanted to give this place a try so we did, yesterday. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, even through there were plenty of empty tables. I didnt realize they had a bar until we were seated. You would think the hosts would have suggested we have a seat at the bar so we could order drinks while we wait, but they didnt. Anyway, there was a festival outside so we walked around until we got the call that our table was ready. When our food arrived, I asked for gloves and the waitress said they ran out. She saw the disappointment on our faces, and said she would check in the back to look around. She returned with some gloves (fully exposed in her bare hands). The gloves looked like the kind they use to wear when wiping the tables. I dont see why the manager couldn't take the 4 min walk to the Dollar Tree to get boxes of gloves for the day. The food was like any other crab joint but the drinks were awful. I couldn't taste the alcohol. Later that night, my daughter and I got food poison probably due to the exposed gloves. I ordered the medium but I should've gotten the spicy.. as the medium was much of a kick (or the kick that i was looking for) I came here early in the day and it was pretty cool. Twisted Crab is a new addition to the Bowie Town Center. The space is large and bright, with plenty of booth seating perfect for large groups. The server that we had was really friendly. It should be noted that they do not currently have their bar license (even though they have cocktails listed on the menu), but they anticipate getting it within the next couple of weeks. The menu says they have happy hour every day, even on Sundays, so that will be nice to see once they get that situated. I ordered the T1 special, which includes snow crab, sausage, shrimp, and potatoes and corn. It's a pretty good value and very filling for one person. I got it in the Cajun sauce, spicy. The spice levels are pretty accurate, so if you like some heat on your seafood, you're in the right place. I liked the flavor of the Cajun seasoning, but it was a bit too oily for me. The half and half I ordered was delicious, and I like that the drinks include free refills. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, and am sure I'll be back regularly, especially to check out the happy hour. read more

In full transparency my husband is a fan of seafood boil not me. Theres too much work & mess to eat the seafood. That being said my husband wanted to go to Twisted Crab since we were walking around Bowie Town center. The staff was very professional & the place was clean including the bathroom. The seafood was meatier than H&R. The issue were the customers. It was gheeeetttttooooo. I think it's kinda unfair to review a business before they have had a chance to complete their soft opening and obtain certain things like a liquor license to boost your experience. Nonetheless I've already patronized the Twister Crab twice since they opened. The first occasion was a sit down experience....do note that this restaurant hasn't been opened long so the bar is not fully set up nor are their any TVS for you to watch...lucky me that I don't mind not having TVs...it forces you to communicate and I'm all for it. The menu is decently large compared to other crab places but what shocked me the most was the ability to order naked or breaded wings....I was shocked lol...it's the little things for me. I tried the Cajun breaded wings on one occasion and old bay naked wings on another...I will say that my wings were better in person than taking them home. Others in my party tried the seafood steam platters and were pleased but not thrilled. So you ask why the four stars...well it's a pending ongoing review. I plan to return once the place is fully operational which may cause an update...but on my first visit my meal was fire....I'm not gonna lie...those wings fresh out the grease hit a little different. They were so good I'm ashamed to admit I order more the next day lol. Welp.. that didnt last long. Third time was not the charm. I went back after a good experience here and it was still decent. Today.. absolutely not. What i liked about the sauce is gone- it's completely watered down and watery. My broccoli looked a little old. My drink had not a hint of alcohol in it, i had to get an extra shot half way through it cuz otherwise why am i drinking a $10 icee? The wings were fried expertly but i couldnt taste any lemon pepper- could see it but couldnt taste it. Im mad i didnt just drive to DC like i planned on doing to Hot n Juicy. Newly opened (Jan 1, 2023) in Bowie Town Center. Staff was friendly upon entering, and the place has a Very nice ambience. Everything was new and clean. I had Tenishia as my waitress. She was attentive and had great customer service. The food was good, and the prices fair! A little on the drier side, so you may need to ask for extra sauce, but everything still tasted fresh and the spice levels were accurate (i got medium). Also, Excellent music selection. Can't wait to try this place again when the bar is open (estimated another couple weeks). Great addition to the area. Will def be back when I'm back in town! read more

The menu was a bit all over the place but I ordered the headless shrimp that came with clams, mussels, corn and potatoes. Their drink straws are paper but the worst I've ever experienced. The waitress lacked in customer service. We'd ask a question and she would answer with her back to us walking away but then forget to bring qhat we asked for... 3.5 stars if we are being honest but boohoo get in here! Somebody in the back with fat on the back of their arms frying up that catfish like it's fried chicken from popeyes. 5/5 easily, the customer service in terms of being greeted as soon as you sit is hit or miss, but once you get a server omg the food is literally the best. The drinks are always good. The music great. I have gone there now maybe 7 times in the last 3 months because I'm hooked lol. I usually get a pound of shrimp and crab legs and it comes with the corn and potatoes i get twisted sauce and hot.....:... i highly highly recommend. Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant. The service was good and the food came out in a timely manner. I will say I wasn't overly impressed by the Twisted Sauce but was just okay. I do appreciate that they have broccoli although I do think its a little overpriced to serve it by the pound like seafood. The drink I had was also good and decently priced. The décor in the restaurant is very pretty its bright and colorful and a nice addition to have the different fish hanging from the ceiling and the big crab and lobster on the wall. We had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, another 20 minutes to get our drinks, only for my glass to have a very visible lipstick print on it, and another 30 minutes for our appetizer of wings to come out.
