Two of the best beers with some seafood boils

I recently visited The Twisted Crab restaurant. It was a pleasant experience, I have dined at this place a couple times and this time was the best. Thanks to Ericka, she was super nice and friendly couldn't ask for a better sever my self.

Stopped in Twisted crab while my car was charging. I was hungry but did not want to get my hands dirty so I ordered lemon pepper wings with Cajun fries. It took a little while to come out but it came out fresh and was tasty. That's all I can hope for when hungry. Twisted does have one of the best seafood boil sauces. I will be back to get my hands dirty soon.

My sister and I decided to stop here while doing our Christmas shopping. The place was quite empty, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. I was excited to get in just as the happy hour menu was being served, but my excitement quickly faded when I realized that the four-dollar shot was only about the size of my thumb. I ordered the honey wings from the happy hour menu as well, but I definitely won't be returning to drink.

This was my first time visiting this spot, and I was surprised that the Twisted Crab had food choices which made my heart happy. This spot looked nothing that I had imagined. I was always adamant about going to any of these lil "crab" spots which were not known seafood restaurants, however I was very pleased with the vibe, location, and service.

I wasn't a fan of The Twisted Crab. The experience overall was poor from the customer service, quality of food and ambiance. They had great choices in music selection but it wasn't enough to keep me. Initially, I was at the bar for a while before anyone came over for a greeting and this employee was on break but did come over to assist. Between this staff member and the actual bartender, both were engaged in phone conversations with AirPods in. So with that observation, it made for shot and abrupt responses, being rushed through options and just not welcoming. There was a bit of upset when I shared (at the start of my visit) that I didn't want an alcohol beverage because I was unsure. I got the wings, which weren't bad but I've experienced better. The engagement in selection between HH vs. a regular order of wings was unclear and short. I ate a few wings and decided to get the rest to-go.

Fri., 8/30/24: Pretty quiet for happy hour but it IS a holiday weekend. Our server was awesome ... personality and respect go a loonnnggg way in my book. GOOD JOB Mario! I ordered the fried oyster basket. Pretty decent. Others ordered wings and fried shrimp baskets and had no complaints. This is not my first time here (just my first time reviewing on Yelp). Sooo many of these crab boil places have popped up in recent years but the food and ambience are pretty much identical. Some may have a bigger bar, more televisions, yada, yada but the budget friendly, casual, dine-in versus carry-out vibe is pretty much all the same. (Including MY favorite spot, Crafty Crab, in Clinton.) I will return to The Twisted Crab and if you are looking for quick and casual, in the Bowie area, you should also stop in and tell them you saw it on Yelp.

My family and came in for the Wednesday special T1 was $19.99 normally $31.95. We got happy hour drinks and appetizers before the T1 and were good and full! Our waitress Dominique was good we'd come back again.

I enjoyed my food and drinks. I judge crab boils by the sauce. The twisted sauce here was delicious. Our waitress did a great job and she was very attentive. Would dine again. Setting pretty standard for a crab place with the leather seats and ship themes I was surprised that they do not allow writing on the wall or hang photos as I have seen this at similar establishments . I like that it's neat. They do start shutting down 30 minutes before closing so having tables and chairs moved and put away while I dined was unexpected.

Everything, the food the atmosphere . It was a great experience for going the first time. An hour and a half drive. Well worth it.

It's a crab bag place like the rest of the crab bag places. The service was ok....the bags were the same as everywhere else. Nothing stuck out for me. I wish that the owners and marketing managers of some of these new restaurants would come up with something that makes them unique. The drinks were good...and it's in the perfect spot to stop in after you've been shopping at Bowie Towne Center. Besides that...It is EXACTLY like ANY OTHER place that sells seafood in a bag.

The food was so good! I ended up taking some home and reheating it, it was still so good!!! I love the mixed blend of seasonings. I ordered the medium but I should've gotten the spicy.. as the medium was much of a kick (or the kick that i was looking for) I came here early in the day and it was pretty cool. It's something about seafood spots and their music choice..it's always GOOD. I love old school R&B and that's what they were playing. The service was good and the waiter was pretty nice. I would definitely return!

Twisted Crab is a new addition to the Bowie Town Center. The space is large and bright, with plenty of booth seating perfect for large groups. The server that we had was really friendly. It should be noted that they do not currently have their bar license (even though they have cocktails listed on the menu), but they anticipate getting it within the next couple of weeks. The menu says they have happy hour every day, even on Sundays, so that will be nice to see once they get that situated. I ordered the T1 special, which includes snow crab, sausage, shrimp, and potatoes and corn. It's a pretty good value and very filling for one person. I got it in the Cajun sauce, spicy. The spice levels are pretty accurate, so if you like some heat on your seafood, you're in the right place. I liked the flavor of the Cajun seasoning, but it was a bit too oily for me. The half and half I ordered was delicious, and I like that the drinks include free refills. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, and am sure I'll be back regularly, especially to check out the happy hour.

Jerry's Seafood is located in Bowie near the Bowie Town Center and there was ample parking. We came in and were shown to our table. The ambiance was minimalistic Cap Cod vibes with wood beam walls with touches of nautical items (ship wheels and pictures of tin-canned oyster containers). Our server, Eddie, was excellent. He was engaging, informative, and just had a wonderful vibe throughout our dining experience. He started us off with a basket of rolls: hot and fresh with softened butter. Our meal was starting off just as we'd hope. We started with the fresh crab dip which was rich and creamy topped with jumbo lump crab, chives and a touch of Old Bay served hot with a sliced baguette. This was my first time experiencing a crab dip so LIGHT and creamy. The Old Bay was not overwhelming, just the perfect compliment to the fresh, sweet jumbo lump crab. The baguettes were more than enough and were crisp on one side and soft on the other. This dip was exceptional. Next was our entree, the crab bomb was served with two sides ( we got the seasoned wedges and stewed tomatoes). The stewed tomatoes were fresh with a sweetness that brought back memories. The wedges were perfect: pillowy soft inside with a crisp seasoned coating. Now the crab bomb....this was exceptional: 10 ounces of all lump crab, baked to perfection; no need for additional seasonings or even a sauce; maybe a squeeze of fresh lemon. It was so sweet and delicate; one of the best I have had in a while. We also got a Mariner's Platter to go: a six ounce crab cake, flounder, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fried oysters, and fries scallops with two sides ( we chose two garden salads). The platter was a bit skimpy for $63 and it was just okay for us; the scallops were not edible AT ALL: they had a metallic taste that was present on the first bite, that was disappointing (this dropped our score from a 5 to 4 stars). The salads were fresh and we got the honey/lemon dressing. That dressing was SO good! I usually don't go for creamy dressing like this, BUT this dressing was so unexpectedly good! All in all, a great meal that I will drive to Bowie again for with no hesitation (except for the Mariner's Platter).
