I ordered a dozen male crabs over the phone and they said it would be ready in 25 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, my steamed crabs were ready. We ordered a dozen large crabs and hush puppies and they were good! The crabs were a good size, meaty, and tasty. And we called ahead for takeout since it took about 30min to prepare. I stopped by looking for crabs to eat. I had originally called the order in at 7:48pm and when I arrived my order wasn't ready for 1/2 dz medium crabs. Anyway, it was DD's birthday and she wanted steamed crab. So my SIL cooked up some stuff at home and drove over... only to discover his mistake: he should have called ahead! This is not a place that has big tubs of already steamed crabs, I guess - he had to wait 30 minutes. So he brought home a dozen and I'm not sure how they are sized, but they seemed a bit small to me. Of course, what do I know? Definitely flavorful meat, although to me a little Old Bay goes a long, long way. So it was borderline. I can say that the meat was cooked just right, not mushy. Crab Galley is a hidden gem that a frequent for crab legs, calm strips, calamari and their fish sandwiches. They have one size for their calamari and clam strips which are more than enough to share with you and one other. I would recommend calling ahead as they cook everything to order and unless you're out running errands in the area, the wait can get to you. There's space to wait in the restaurant but it's standing room only and it would be better to just stay in your car after you order. They do sell frozen seafood by the pound if interested. The staff are very friendly and accommodated with helping us select a fish option for dinner the other night. Although a smaller restaurant, don't count them out. read more

What a find! A totally unassuming little shack attached to a dry cleaner, but don't be deceived. They've set up a tent outside where you order, no place to sit or dine in so make sure you have an alternate consumption location. I stopped in to grab a crabcake sandwich, and it was fantastic. Zero filler in the crabcake and reasonably priced. While waiting by the tent, I saw that they had a fish fry special. Totally miss Wisconsin Friday Fish Fry's while I'm out in Maryland, so decided to try it out on a Friday. I did their smallest quantity of five fillets. It's kind of like a chef's special - each fillet was different and you didn't now what you were going to get. The fish fry was awesome, and I was surprised at how fantastic the french fries were! If you blinked driving on piney orchard you would probably miss this place, but while its not the total package it has alot of good attributes. The seafood platters are packed with alot of really good seafood. To my surprise this wasn't just your typical carry out seafood. Therw was nothing that came off over breaded, or oily. Which is typically the case in my experience with items such as scallops, and oysters (2 of my favorites) My only complaint is that they dont really have a set amount for whats supposed to be in the box, and when the guy said there would be X amount of items, he was way off from what we actually got. He said 2-3 pieces of fish we got 1, he said 4-5 shrimp we got about 7. Another issue came when we ordered 1lb of crab legs, and were charged more then advertised because the guy said the cluster was heavier then expected. Which didnt make since because we got 2 clusters, and neither of them had all the legs on them. Outside of that, they weren't all that good, and I doubt we'll order them again. I got a bushel of their "regular" sized female crabs and the sizes of them looked like little children. I mean, some of them looked tiny. The guy there said they base their crabs on weight, not size. He wasn't lying. BUT!!! They filled the whole box up to the MAX. There must have been 10 dozen or so crabs inside. Also, almost every crab had eggs/roe inside YESSSS! Even the tiny ones had some meat to em. Most of the crabs that looked small, had some weight to them. A few minor issues; a few weren't fresh and a few others had little to no meat. This little gem of a place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's the definition of don't judge a book by its cover. Crab cakes were huge and delicious. The same was the case for Saturday May 25th.... we paid $69 for one dozen large male crabs. 6 were appropriately sized and decent. 6 were mushy and soggy to the point of inedibility. Do I feel like driving back to have this corrected 3-4 times, back to back? No! Most especially not when I have witnessed their employees arguing with paying customers and can't be bothered with such absurdities. read more

I ordered the 6inch crab cake sub to go. I had about a 20 minute drive before I got home. My sub was room temperature and still delicious. The bread was soft, my toppings were fresh and the sub was stuffed with crabcake. 4 stars because the crabcake tasted a bit salty but that could have been my own palette. I am always skeptical of Crab places when it comes to giving you the size you paid for. Nothing like ordering Jumbo males and getting Medium females which is a huge price difference! I even took it upon myself to order steamed shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp were ok, could have been throughly deveined. The oyster were spot on and the crab were perfect. The guy at the register showed me the smallest crab of the Large Males that I ordered because once I got home I realized he did indeed show me the baby of the bunch! I called another seafood place and asked them for their price on large males and they were $30 more for what I was ordering here. Ok I did not get crabs when I went there. Maybe I should have started this review with a different opener. Oh well. The amount of food you get for the price is excellent when compared to others in this area. I got the Captain Adam Combo and the picture speaks for itself. This is a definite place frequented by locals and the guy at the register knew everyone's name who came in. All were regular patrons as I asked about a few of the other items. In fact I got a free sample of their shrimp salad and that will be on my list to try next. The food was good and the hush puppies were very tasty. Let me start by saying that the shrimp special for $18.99 is great! It's a big container of shrimp which is well seasoned and comes with a cocktail sauce that is well balanced and not too strong on the horse radish (I usually don't like cocktail sauce when it has too much horse radish). The flavor of the shrimp was excellent. There are however a few reasons for only 3 stars 1) they take a very long time - my suggestion is to call ahead of time so they have your order ready 2) the gentleman serving at the stand was very difficult to communicate with. He didn't really use full sentences and did not project his voice in a manner that we could understand 3) there are shucked oyster shells on the ground right by the entrance of the stand and it is not appealing to the eye (they should really clean these up) 4) parking lot is very full and you have to stand outside for a while to get serviced (it was super hot and there was a car somehow parked right in the middle of the parking lot). They should organize where you stand and where people park. These all sound like a lot of negative things, but the 3 stars go straight to the shrimp; it was some of the best shrimp we have had. We will return sometime soon and will provide an updated review (hopefully with some pictures) Just as mentioned, I returned to the Crab Galley and I am keeping the 3 stars. The place opens at 11am on Sunday; my brother called multiple times to make an order with no response. We still decided to go there and see if the place was open- it was. We asked what was happening to the phones and we were told they were too busy so they did not answer. There is no food ready to go so we ordered the shrimp special again (100 shrimp instead of 50) and a shrimp salad. The food did not disappoint; I can tell why they are so busy. The steamed shrimp and the salad were well seasoned and the shrimp is cooked at the appropriate temperature (not overcooked). However I think they may be losing customers by not answering the phone. I really like the food and wish I could give them a better rating, but they should really consider getting more staff or figuring out a system to be more efficient. read more

A good spot for take out! This place is so to t that you'll miss it if you sneeze. Its so tiny that you might have to wait outside in your car for your order. Depending on the weather, this might not be a problem. We were helped by a young man who might have been waiting on the counter as a repeat summer job. He was knowledgeable and very friendly with great recommendations. We ordered jumbo crab cakes, large steamed shrimp, 1/2 dozen oysters on the 1/2 shell, 2 lbs of king crab legs, and a lb of lump crab meat. Everything was excellent! When we got our food home I ate the oysters while waiting for my family members to arrive. Let me tell you these little beauties were as wonderful as any of the ones I had in The Big Easy last week! Great size and flavor! When my cousin arrived, We stuffed ourselves on the crab cakes- fantastic,light and perfectly seasoned. Then we turned to the steamed shrimp-- they were so,so good. A little later I used the crab meat and made crab enchiladas. The crab meat was so fresh and sweet that these enchiladas were arguably the best ever with freshly made mango salsa and guacamole.
