In a nutshell Providence Water Heaters is excellent. To replace our existing 15 year old gas tank water heater with an electric heat pump water heater and move the location from an external closet to the garage: Anthony came out, evaluated, saw what needed to be done and the next day gave us a quote. He has also taken care of the local (PG&E) and State Environmental incentives/rebates and will also take care of the inspection. Since we required an electrical 240 volt connection prior to installing, he recommended an excellent electrician, whom we have since used on other projects. On the day of the installation he came out with a crew of two more. I never had qualms of about asking the crew questions while they were working, to which they were helpful. Anthony and his crew at Providence Water Heaters installed a tankless water heater for me about 6 months ago, to replace our old hot water tank that was inefficient and leaking. They showed up on time, worked through an issue that came up, and had the tankless unit up and running by the afternoon. They did an excellent A+ installation using high quality copper connectors designed to last and it looks very nice and tidy. The plumbing is setup for easy maintenance connections. They returned a couple of times to add an accessory and adjust the drain connection. I had already paid for the job, and they still returned in a timely manner, arrived on-time, and completed the work in less than an hour, and it was good work. They also made minimal cuts into the drywall, which were easy to patch. This is EXCELLENT Customer Service. Our Navien tankless water was acting up on a Sunday night. I didn't know what to do so I called our rooter plumber for a referral. He recommended that I call Anthony at Providence Water Heaters. Outstanding provider. We had a water heater failure at a very awkward moment. We called Providence, as well as two other companies. Anthony came over the same day, and gave us the most thorough and analytical advice of all the suppliers we saw (one of them we knew and trusted already). Because of Anthony's high quality analysis of our problem, we actually changed the specs of what we wanted to do. We ended up going with a significantly cheaper solution than we had originally planned for, on his recommendation, for reliability and longevity reasons. Anthony came back the next day for installation. He completed it quickly and efficiently. The location of the install is awkward and tight, certainly not ideal. Yet his setup was much cleaner and better laid out than the previous setup had been---as an engineer, I particularly appreciate that. Anthony also gave us additional tips, about sealing the location and monitoring it, that had not been mentioned by anyone. As for cost, while Providence was not the lowest bid, it was definitely not a very high one (comparatively), and I feel it provided the best value. I trust their advice and their services. I replaced our 30 year old tanked water heater with a new instant water heater. Unfortunately the unit was functioning intermittently. As it was within 1 year manufacturer's warranty, I reached out to the plumber who installed it. The original plumber who installed my instant water heater got bought out by another outfit and they said they wouldn't work on the unit. Bummer. I reached out to Providence Water Heaters as they were listed as one of the manufacturer's certified installer in our area. Anthony communicated with me promptly and stated that they can send out a tech to review the condition to see whether a warranty would cover it. I sent him some installed pictures and serial numbers. Based on this, he thought that it was a known issue which will most likely get covered. He did also point out a couple of issues by the previous installer and provided a quote. I declined and he was very professional in accepting the decision and allowing the warranty repair to proceed without any added work. Additionally the tech discovered another issue that was generating excessive noise. They followed up with another warranty call and returned to replace the defective part once it was available. Great company to work with! I emailed Anthony on a Saturday with a dead water heater issue in our rental condo in Walnut Creek. He called back that day. Seriously?? Who works on Saturdays except small businesses that focus on customers. He replaced the water heater on Monday morning at 8:00. He offered to replace it Sunday but hinted that he preferred to get a better quality water heater Monday first thing instead of the crappy big box store brands that would be available to him. This review is much delayed. I meant to write this right after my experience, which was in February. Anthony was very responsive to an emergency situation and I was so lucky to have found him. The water heater at my rental in Moraga flooded out the garage and my tenant called me in a panic when she went downstairs in the morning. I didn't know what to do so I just started calling water heater repair services in the area, going through the list on Yelp. No one was available on such short notice, even though their ads suggested they could handle emergencies. I was desperate so just kept calling. Finally I reached Anthony and he made arrangements so that he could get over to Moraga within a few hours. I met him there and he was able to diagnose the issue and replace the water heater right then. The water heater was much older than I remembered, so this was definitely the only way to go.
