In September 2021 Local Garage Doors replaced the wooden door on our garage with a metal one. The technician advised that we needed new tracks for the new door to work properly so we agreed for him to do that. In December 2024 the door LGD had installed stopped working. Their technician Tim repaired it and informed us that the problem was that the springs which had not been replaced in September 2021 were much too large for the metal door we had installed then. So we agreed to replace the large springs for smaller, correct ones. It resumed working and was quieter as well. In May 2025 the door stopped working when one of the wheels fell off the track. One of the door panels was bent but Eli, who is a supervisor, repaired the panel and replaced the wheel. He informed me that the technician had installed the WRONG springs in December. He told me that the technician had been fired because of shoddy work like that. He told me that the December springs would put undue stress on the motor. He advised me to put in other even smaller springs which would help the door open more quietly and preserve the life of the motor. I paid Eli $1241 without receiving a copy of the invoice because I was in a hurry to leave to get my granddaughter at school. The next day I requested the invoice and saw that the newer, lighter springs cost $566. I asked LGD for a refund because these springs were a CORRECTION for a mistake their technician had made in December. They refused saying that Eli told me and them that the newer springs were an upgrade. He LIED to his boss! Chase Bank refused to support my dispute over the $566. Admittedly, I should not have paid the $1241 without examining the invoice beforehand. And I should have insisted that Eli remove the newer lighter springs if I objected to being charged for them. But LGD did shoddy work two times and then refused to take responsibility for it. I will not use them again. How long will it be before the door breaks down again? I would rate them as ZERO stars if I could. I would caution anyone against using them. read more

In February 2023, one of their technicians installed my new garage door opener. However, it was done incorrectly from the start--screws that were supposed to secure the unit to the wooden frame didn't even penetrate the drywall, leaving the entire railing system barely attached. Unsurprisingly, 18 months later, the system came off the wall. Frankly, I'm surprised it lasted that long. To make matters worse, I couldn't find the safety pin that was supposed to hold the rail to the wall bracket, leading me to wonder if it was ever installed in the first place. I ended up replacing it myself with a part from Home Depot. When I called the company to report the issue, they informed me that their installation/labor warranty only covers 30 days. A technician came out but refused to acknowledge that the original work was done incorrectly. Instead, they offered a 20% discount on the $250 charge to fix the issue. I was further insulted when the office manager accused me of tampering with the system simply because I had to troubleshoot the problem myself just to get my garage door closed. Ultimately, they charged me $150 to replace the original screws with two longer ones--an incredibly simple fix that took about 10 minutes and cost them maybe $2 in materials. This was for a job that was done improperly in the first place. I trusted them to do the work right the first time, and now I feel taken advantage of. When I asked for the owner, Tyler, to discuss my frustration, the office staff was evasive and gave no clear answers about whether he would call me back. What kind of business owner isn't available to address customer concerns? It's clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for this company. At this point, I've lost all trust in them and will not be supporting their business any longer. I strongly advise others to avoid them. They may present themselves as a 5-star company, but the reality is they cut corners and refuse to stand behind their work when it's done poorly. If you choose to work with them, inspect their work carefully--if you wait too long, they'll leave you stuck with the consequences. Brandon arrived on time and got right to work. I had not had my garage door operating system inspected in many years and I was getting an occasional squeaky sound. After lubricating all roll up hinges he determined that some rollers in the track were not rolling but being dragged along the track. Besides making noise the extra strain on the motor was not good. Brandon recommend we change the 10 wheels with new one that had ball bearings. The change took about 20 minutes and what an unbelievable difference that made on the smooth operation of the garage door. It opens and closes much better with minimal noise. They installed new track, motor and door and 2 days later the door started making noises. then 3 days later the door came off the track and bent the track and the door. we immediately called and they couldn't come out until the next day. I could not have my door wide open all night. my son helped us (my husband and I) to close the door and as the door was coming back down, the top of the door fell right on my son's head and cut up my husbands arm. they did NOT care about this and then came to fix the door only to leave it making loud noises at it opens. Great service for $500 per hour! To be clear, $500 was what the tech told us was their fee for re-spooling the cable and rebalancing our garage door. But he did immediately tell us they had $100 off special going! So for $400, the tech spent just under an hour fixing our one-car, aluminum, garage door cable. As a seasoned contractor running my own business for 25 years, I do understand the cost of office, travel, overhead, etc. And certainly this business did a good job of notifying us of the tech's arrival time on their fancy app for which he was quite prompt. But the reason we scheduled the appointment in the first place, after describing the problem on the phone, was based on their office staff telling us the average "service call" was $100 (combined with positive yelp reviews), leading us to believe this simple repair would fall into that category. With that understanding, we scheduled our appointment around 10:00 am on a Friday. Fast forward to 4:00 pm on a Friday afternoon, with a garage door that will not close, the tech showed up and immediately told us it's a $500 repair, and they would generously knock off $100. With our hands tied at that point, we were stuck with them. The tech did a good job of re-spooling the wire and rebalancing the door, etc,. as well as spraying WD-40 on the track. He was competent and courteous for the most part (although he could stand to drop the word "boss" from his vocabulary). So while I would definitely say that they can fix your problem door, be aware that it may cost 4x what they imply on the phone. If it ends up being a fix that's worth $400 to $500 an hour to you, then I think you'll be very satisfied. read more

Here is an update to my review. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business. I was even going to call them for another bigger job. It is unfortunate because it impacts their very friendly Techs that actually come face to face with customers. But their back office crew, lost for words. Almost useless. They will promise you the moon and the sun just to close the deal. They will tell you out the door price but will not mention the tax. That is why customers is asking out the door price. Anyway, my concern is about the coupon. You can buy a $100 coupon for the price of $50. Good deal. I used it during the install and the payment on their mobile app processed it. Here comes the issue, 1 week after they kept asking for the coupon code. How did the system process the payment if the coupon was not valid? Here is where my problem is; I actually do not mind about the coupon. It is a small amount. The issue I have is the backoffice "PAT" who keeps emailing and texting is not even apologetic for the problem they had with processing. The customer used it and trusted in good faith that it worked. At least be apologetic and be nice to the customer. Instead, they say it is now our responsibility to look for the coupon code otherwise we have to pay the delta. Pat - the amount is not even worth the time we are spending on this. To the owner - please train your back office because it hurts the image of your field techs. I was concerned about the price and I had another quote for $450. I did some research on the cost of the springs the previous day and the ones that I needed were available for $140 on Amazon, meaning the the job would have cost ~$410. It takes roughly 30-45 min to install. I thought it was too much. I shared this info with the person and he reduced the price to $425. I accepted it. The work was done well and fast, maybe in 40 min. The garage was also inspected. I would have given a higher rating if the price was set since the beginning (another company gave the quote via phone). I do not like negotiating the price. read more
