Our garage door opener died on a Sunday morning and we required an immediate replacement. We live in a high crime area and could not afford to leave the garage un-secure while we shopped for a new opener and then had it installed. We chose Oakland Garage Doors -- they also refer to themselves as Green Line -- because they had 6 5-star reviews and they could come to our home that day. I was concerned about the few reviews, but also want to support small businesses. Ed arrived and quoted me a price for the job: $460 for the opener and $199 for labor. $460 for the opener seemed high, but I could wait no longer. Ed's installation was quick and the opener works well. I have learned that the retail price of the opener + chain drive rail assembly = $185 + $65 = $250. I asked Ed to sell me an extra remote, and he quoted me $69, which I declined to pay. I found a universal remote at Home Depot for $30. I emailed this business asking about the price they charged me for the hardware, but they have not responded. I am leaving a 3-star review because they double charged me. I would recommend this company for their workmanship, but not for their price. read more
