After many reviews I found that this was one of the go to spots so I already knew there we going to be a wait. Parking is a little tight just as a heads up. I tried doing reservations online but I didn't see the option but I know there is a way. I believe I went to the wrong place. Anyway the wait was about 1hr- 1.5 hour. Our server was pretty nice, but we tried the fried deviled eggs. They were ok I wasn't blown away. For entrees I got a burger and my daughter got a grilled cheese. She wasn't the biggest fan of the fries. Apparently they are known for their burgers and it was pretty good. Price was average and nice flavor to it. With all the glowing reviews that this place gets does it really need one more? Probably not- but I'm happy to give it. The service was spot on. Warm engaging wait staff. Knowledgeable but not know it all. Extremely attentive but not hovering. With employees being so hard to come by they have managed to hold onto some great ones. The food was, creative well thought out, well prepared and thoughtful. It was inventive, amazingly executed, and extremely filling. The waiter's recommendations were spot on. We got two appetizers and both were excellent and well-timed. And since the menu is seasonal I won't bore you with both, honestly I think if we had picked any two that we would've been happy. I will bug you with one, the re-created devils eggs were not only imaginative but fantastic. There is no other word for it. I'm not a deviled eggs fan, my husband is, and they hit happy spots for both of us. They were definitely gone before our salads came. Salad came and it was amazing. Definitely could've made that my meal if I had added a protein. My husband got a steak that was cooked to perfection, it was truly medium rare, which 95% of the time comes out as medium but wasn't. And I got a pasta dish that I barely was able to eat because I was so full between the appetizers and the salad. I'm not a light eater, the portions are just that generous. The notable thing about this, is that the pasta was phenomenal as leftovers. How often can you say that? Because they didn't have a hand truck handy, my husband and I split a Key lime pie, which was spot on itself. S. Ambiance was difficult to like, the amount of people waiting made it impossible to move around the entry and foyer. The rooms were very loud and our table was uncomfortable. The benches were so low your plate was too close to your face. The service was nothing spectacular and we had to search for our waitress twice to ask for things. We did not care for the famed fried deviled eggs, they lacked flavor and the fried texture was too oily as if the fryer wasn't hot enough. The farmers burger was spectacular and the egg/garlic combo surprisingly good. The fish and chips were a gigantic portion. The fries were shoestring and our table was split on liking and hating them. The onion rings are so large they are hard to eat, but super fun. The Mediterranean salad was very good and the tomato vinaigrette creative. The hot honey chicken sandwich was very plain (needed toppings). The price was more than the food warranted, but on point with the area. The one to beat! This was my trip favorite restaurant. The ribs were about the best I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes were a little in the thick side, but the bacon jam on top made them stand out, yum-o! I saw that several people mentioned the fried deviled eggs so I gave them a try. Absolutely awesome twist on a traditional favorite, I will definitely order them again. The sweet potato casserole was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. As a burger place that advertises their aged beef, the burgers were quite bland. We had 2 orders of beef burgers and we both agree , the flavor was seriously lacking. And the buns were dense, hard, dry. The beef patty was bland, and barely warm. I reckon it sat somewhere for a little bit before it was assembled. We also had another order of lamb burger, and that too was barely warm and did not carry the open fire flavor. Quite greasy as well. All of us had the fries that came with the burger, and it was the saltiest fries ever. Probably fries that sat in the bottom of the bin and getting rolled around all that salt in the bottom. Fries were also barely warm. I think they precook a whole bunch of these, and then park em, so they could serve them quickly and turn the tables quickly. For a restaurant that has 4.5 stars on yelp, I was expecting food we could actually enjoy. We thankfully had a very nice server on our first and last visit to the Local Goat. The restaurants atmosphere is a darker sports bar vibe. The food my husband and I got was basically inedible. The fries were a rubbery texture and felt like they were warmed up in the microwave. The flavors from the sandwich were odd and displeasing. The onion rings came out to us with less then a minute of ordering them and were dripping with oil. I will never give a review that is not honest what I thought and hopefully this will help others. read more

The food was absolutely amazing .. the best ribs and ribeye we've had in a long time ! Came to visit from Chicago where great steaks are common. Let me tell you this ribeye and these ribs by far exceeded my expectations! Great server as well . It was jus added to the already experience! Reviewing to remember: get the shrimp and lobster biscue soup it's to die for! So good! Added to my fitness pal app and it's about 1100 calories but still worth it. First of all, the food is at the table almost before you order it. Kinda odd but they must have some A.I. thing that can size up a customer and know what they will be ordering. The rings came and they were hot and crispy and tasty.. The burgers came and they were clunkers. The bun was some onion topped exotic thing and it was too small for the burger.... You could not grab it and eat it like a normal burger and I hate eating burgers with the table tools.. The meat looked to be, maybe, a 1/3 pounder and claimed to be locally sourced. I'm sure it was but it had zero flavor.. The fries were a pile of tater boiled in oil.. Lacking in flavor and wimpy; although they were never meant to be crisp.. That said, our server was excellent and constantly asked if everything was tasty. We didn't tell her the obvious but she knew. Poor thing. We left half and hit the road. As a side note, they parked the two of us in a booth for six. The bench was so low I almost asked for a booster seat. I hit he men's room before we left and there was not one, not two, but three empty paper towel holders. Nary a towel to be found. When I go down to Sevierville for vacation, I always make sure I stop here at least once to eat. They have some of the best food in town. This past time I ordered the Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich and hands-down, it's the best I've ever had. If you're in the area, Local Goat would be the first place in mind I would recommend. We came here after church on a Sunday in December. The place was packed. We had a group of 21 so our wait was over an hour. The adults tag teamed sitting at the bar area while waiting. The drinks were good, they finally sat us and all of the food was great too. Everything we ordered was luke warm at best and pretty bland. The French fries on the kids meals were the best thing. So maybe grab a burger and fries instead of the "fancier" dishes. read more

Make sure you call ahead and put your name down before you get there. They allowed us to put our name down as long as we would have the full party there within an hour. They quoted about a 75 minute wait so we were not in any rush to arrive. That was a lot better than waiting in their lobby for that long. We found a 10% off coupon in one of the coupon books that they allowed both couples to us. Everyone liked their food and the onion ring appetizer. My friend and I shared a Jell-O shot flight, that was pretty cool but for the size I couldn't justify the $3/per shot price tag. Our waiter said their food is locally-sourced, which I find to be a lot better than most chain restaurants that use frozen and microwaveable precooked meals. read more
