    Blueberry pancake
    Keith F.

This is definitely a local type restaurant. On my visit several people greeted each other by name. When you come in it says to seat yourself so we did. No server came so I went to the bar area for menus. There are a lot of options for their biscuits and sides. Most of them are meat options. The biscuits are very popular I had an enormous blueberry pancake that was really good. The edges were crispy and the rest was fluffy. It was loaded with blueberries! The syrup was not the best. I also had a cheese omelette with wheat toast. It was fine. Not too greasy which I appreciated. The price is fair for what you get. The service was friendlier as the meal went on. I will come back for sure.

A very simple down home country restaurant. I love family owned and operated businesses. You get to talk directly to the owner asked questions and get the straight scoop. First time here and it was very enjoyable. The service was very efficient. Quick accurate and delicious. Excellent pricing on all the menu items. I just had bacon eggs and hash browns. The bacon had some crunch which I like. Sloppy bacon is not for me. Lol. Real shredded hash browns were done right. Crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. A very good first time experience. Now I'll have to try the omelette and grits next time.

A cute little mom and pop shop. All homemade food and new desserts each day. The staff is super friendly and the service is great. They made us laugh and talked to us for a while. We will be back

Very cute place! Came here after son's basketball game. Pleasant service & the food is really good & generous portions. We thought the coffee cups were unique & ironic so I ordered the veggie omelette didn't scare hubs he got the Country Ham & Eggs & he loved it. Happy dining!

I loved the sweet savory combo. For mains, I ordered the veggie plate with Mac and cheese, cauliflower, collard greens, and mushrooms. Mac and cheese was solid, not incredible (I thought it would be cheesier given it's called cheese&mac). Still tasty and would probably order again. The cauliflower was phenomenal- slightly sweet, the perfect balance of acid, delicious. Collard greens were fine and so were the mushrooms. I also tried the cabbage, sweet potato, coleslaw, and Brussels. I love the caramelized skins of the sweet potato. I liked that the coleslaw was light on the mayo. We ended our meal with the Coca Cola cake. The Coke flavor is very subtle aftertaste which is probably for the best. I feel like the frosting was too thick, but really enjoyed the cake. It has a denser fudgier texture (almost brownie like) and is very moist. Overall, I would return. You must try the cauliflower, biscuits, and Coca Cola cake!!

We went to the bar first for drinks and the happy hour specials ending at 6pm. The waitress was nice, and the guys were super talkative when they knew we were Dolphins fans, and the guy shucking oysters was focused but still laughed at jokes or conversations. The cucumber cocktail was great and refreshing, the $2 beer special is unbeatable. We got a table fast when we were ready to eat with the group and the server was fun and engaged. We had multiple rounds of oysters (which were good sized Gulf oysters), fish dip, shrimp cocktail, and wings. The star of the show was my plate, their soft shell crab plate. You don't see it on anyone's menu often so I had to get it. It was juicy and the crabs were really good sized, I was full. The inside is cute, very clean Florida bar style. We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. But when I saw the revolting detritus piled in the corner, it was obvious the dirtiness of the bathroom was due to staff neglect over an extended period.

They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

We stopped by for lunch and were really impressed with the quality of the food and the great customer service we received. We started our meal with the crab dip and hush puppies and it was a great start to our meal. Everything arrived warm and fresh and delicious and great for sharing. For our entree we ordered the special pasta of the day which was a pesto sauce pasta with chicken and the shrimp and grits. Two completely different types of dishes and both were absolutely FANTASTIC! The pesto sauce of the pasta dish was one of the best pesto sauces we have had in a really long time. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp and grits was just perfection the very best grits I've also had in a long time. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was so full of flavor. Truly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Best part - the restaurant was so affordable (especially for a seafood restaurant) which we loved as well. We have dined at many expensive seafood restaurants over the years and most are simply overpriced and the food is usually ok but not wow by any means. I can truly say the food at this restaurant was WOW, and at a great price point. The shrimp and grits was only $17 for a large plate of delicious food it was 100% worth it and more. Service was great as well, everyone was very friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations for dishes to try. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we have had in some time. First good sign: the bartender had classic bartender energy. Easy to talk to and good at what he does. Looking at the menu, I immediately noticed some French touches, including escargot, which you almost never see around here. I had to try it. It wasn't the best escargot I've ever had, but when a place in Canton is putting it on the menu, you give them credit for the effort. The real reason I came in was the oysters. I'm a big Roberto's in downtown Woodstock fan, which I consider the oyster mecca of the area. So I was curious if Canton had anything comparable. To their credit, Going Coastal actually does oysters properly. Not just the usual generic stuff. They had Murder Points, which tells me someone in the kitchen cares about quality and sourcing. I also ordered a piece of fish. They cook it to order and let you choose how you want it prepared. Some people want the chef's call, others like control. Either way, the execution was solid and the flavors worked. Bottom line: this is a good seafood spot. The best seafood option in Canton.
