We decided to check this place out because some friends recommended it and there was a good band playing that night. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place: the views out to the water and the huge outdoor seating area were amazing. We started our dining with a couple of appetizers: we got the bang bang shrimp, and the crab dip. Both were very good. For my entrée, I had the shrimp scampi. Giving this a 2. My wife and I went to Local on the Water and were seated quickly on a busy night. It took around 10 minutes for anybody to recognize us at the table - but the waitress had been there the whole time. She legit put her head down and walked past us several times before acknowledging us. Also - the facility charge that was added, while cheap, is a complete scam, and quite honestly should be illegal. The real bummer is that my dinner was really good. With food that good and a such a great atmosphere I would have given this a four - but the service has to step up and that fee is ridiculous. read more

Caught a concert at Local On The Water a few weeks back - great outside venue for a (smallish) show. Get there early for the good seats / tables. Good music with room for people to dance. The food was Ok. The server(s) were nice enough, but they needed a *lot* more of them; they were overwhelmed. LotW needs to increase staffing on busy nights. read more

Things started out rough. We waited 30 minutes before being greeted at our table. And this was only because we called the waitress to the table. She went to every table (4 other tables in a circle around us). The manager was called and she was amazing. Sat and listened to our complaint. Then moved us to another section. This is a dog friendly restaurant, so we also had our fur baby with us. When we moved and received proper service, the experience was much better. The food was good and the live band really made the experience worth it. What started out as a poor review turned into a stellar experience. slow. slow. slow for our server to make an initial appearance, so we ordered first drinks and our food when she finally showed up. 15 minutes later, nothing. no drinks. no appetizers. Blamed it on the "kitchen bartender" being swamped. The bartender at the bar we were seated adjacent to would only serve those that seated at his bar. Our server realized the delay and voluntarily got a manager. No apology. Excuse was everybody showed up at the same time. Yo, that what happens at 6:00 pm every day when you have a restaurant. Local on the Water is a great restaurant with great water views! We went on a busy Friday night (of Labor Day weekend) and had to wait a little less than an hour for a table, but were able to grab drinks from the bar and enjoy the water views. We were seated inside but the restaurant is open air so it still felt like we were outside. There was live music which is great but makes for a very loud environment, so maybe not the place if you want to have conversation with your meal. We split the brisket nachos as an appetizer and they were delicious, the brisket tender and flavorful and the queso so good. That was probably enough for the three of us, but we each also got something else! I got the hot honey chicken sandwich which was delicious. Others in my party got the bang bang shrimp and chicken avocado bacon sandwich, both with great reviews. Food was delicious, would return! read more

The wait staff is so nice and the location is great. Got two beers and ice tea! No music. Had to pay a 3percent facility fee. Not a credit card fee. You have to pay 3 percent for the view, atmosphere and amenities. Lots of waterfront restaurants do not charge. Market better just increase prices rather than pay a ridiculous fee! read more

Once we found our table, we sat down, and our server greeted us right away. Her name was Jessica and she was very pleasant. We started with 3 waters, and my Mom and I had a titos with sprite. Bonded with her over getting carded because we look young, but am of age. Took a while to look over the menu, and they have mostly bar food, which is fine. They have lots of choices of sandwiches. Before long, we knew what we wanted: I ordered the Chicken avacado Bacon sandwich, Grilled, and with french fries. Both my mom and aunt decided on the brisket tacos with a salad. my mom ordered the pico on the side. The food came out and everything was correct. Jessica made sure to check on us constantly to make sure we were okay, and we were. i enjoyed my chicken sandwich- which was a little sloppy, but delicious! We all ate our food. We then asked for our check, paid with a credit card, and left a cash tip. We will definitely come back again, and perhaps when there is live music going on as well! read more

We started off waiting a little while for our server but Tina showed up and our expierence was off and running. Tina seemed a little busy but she was super friendly and apologized for the wait (maybe 5 minutes) I have waited longer. We ordered some of their signature cocktails and they were good. The Orange Crush had the wrong ice but still well-made. My wife's Blueberry Pineapple Tequila Sour was great! Our appetizer reached our table in record time! Holy smokes, the crab dip with tortilla chips was hot and tasted amazing. Shortly after our entrees arrived and again, they were great. My wife had the Mahi Shrimp Luau was great. I never had butternut squash with grilled veggies but it was nice. I had the Mahi-Mahi tacos and boy were they perfect. I am not sure why this place only has 3 stars but it must be due to the outdoor seating in the summer. Our visit was low 80's and the sun was going down which made it even better. Anytime a server is there to refill my glass without flagging them down, tip goes up 5 %. There were lots of areas for families of all ages. The live band was excellent ... a little loud. We were toward the back of the restaurant from the stage and 3 of our Apple watches went off to tell us that the noise level was exceeding 90 decibels and could cause damage. What a COOL hidden gem!! The place is so welcoming and inviting! We chose to eat outside to enjoy the fresh air and the views! We watched boats go by and of course, people watched! Our server was Dalton and he was able to make so honest recommendations for us! We took his advice and ordered the margarita flatbread and truffle fries with Parmesan cheese! After he brought us our drinks- just water, he was kind enough to take our picture and tell us a little about himself. It's so nice to hear a young college person able to interact with adults! So the truffle fries could've used a little more crisping for my taste, but they certainly were tasty! The flatbread was so so good. Mozzarella, sliced tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic was on point!! I can't wait to go in the evening to listen to their live music!!
