    cheesesteak and fries
    Hajir S.

This spot has some decent sandwiches, and it's nice that everything is quite fresh. Honestly not a bad place to grab a bite locally. However, it's not so great that I'm inclined to go out of my way, and the prices are higher than expected. I got a cheesesteak, but spicy like the voodoo sandwich, and just like the voodoo chicken sandwich it's good, but it's not great. It's spicy, but it's not so spicy that it's voodoo! The fries are good, but there's no beer on draft or anything like that. It's just hard to understand why in Cleveland you're paying $18 for a cheesesteak that costs $12 in NYC at a bodega that's open 24 hours a day...they also need to put more cheese on that cheesesteak Staff was kind, parking was available, and there is ample seating.

Chicken sandwich & Mac & Cheese

Chicken sandwich and Mac & cheese 10/10 highly recommend fresh food and ingredients. New favorite place wish I known about it earlier.

Food was a bit higher priced. They charged me 75 cents for pickles when I'm already paying 14 dollars for a burger... Mac and cheese was bussing I tried the lemonade and it was realllllllllyyy sour I had it water it down a lot. They don't offer refills for any drinks you buy there. Burgers were good but nothing to make me return again. Paid extra for salmon on salad and the salmon was small but flavors were good.

Looking at the menu board, you can see that this is not your standard deli. It's much more than just combinations of sliced meats and cheeses. You can get a gyro, chicken pizza, salmon burger, and sweet potato fries, among many other choices. When I see a restaurant like this, I seriously wish I lived closer. I decided to go with the Cubano. This is not some half assed ham and pickles sandwich. They take perfectly cooked pork and layer it with ham, pickles, and mustard, pressed between French bread. This is seriously the real deal. I have had sandwiches in Florida that were not as good as this. My wife normally shares at least a little bit of her meal with me. She didn't let me have any of her chicken sandwich. Fortunately, we both got fries. They are skin on, and the owner told us that they soak them overnight, which releases the starch and makes them crispier. There were an enormous number of fries, and we both ate all of them. And, that's not all. My wife got a salad with an amazing vinaigrette. And, the soup of the day was a potato soup. Every spoonful was savory, and I wish I had ordered more. We are only in Ohio for three days, and we came here on day two. We are definitely coming here on our last day. UPDATE: we came back on the way home, and I got a salmon burger. Unlike most salmon burgers, which consist of breading that was formed in front of a picture of a salmon, this one has a significant amount of salmon in it. It's served with an excellent tzatziki sauce. I also got a rich, tasty mac & cheese. There are many other things on the menu, and the soup selection rotates daily, so there are plenty of reasons to come back.

I've gone to Local West twice. Today I had the eggplant sandwich, fries, and a blackberry cider. The eggplant was soft but not mushy. The onion tomato herb topping was delicious. I enjoy their bread, the herbs mixed into the nooks and crannies of the bread Lets talk about the music I was there for about 40 minutes( I ate there) I dined to reggae, 90s and 2000s slow and upbeat jams, and even some 70 classics, I should have asked for somebody's Spotify list on the way out cause I'm Extra I will be back soon, I'm gonna try one of the chicken sandwiches .

First place here, cool vibes inside! Burger was great and good amount of fries that were also good. Big menu, would like to try the chicken next! Parking lot right beside made it stress free. You go up to counter and pay then sit and wait for food to be delivered. Not too long of a wait. Not a lot of people dining in but take out seemed busy. Would go again!

    Voodoo Chicken Sandwich

I ordered the Voodoo chicken sandwich and 4 beans side. Great quality ingredients that were made fresh. Everything tasted delicious. I would highly recommend!

DELICIOUS! My dad and I were recommended this place by a friend who said "it wouldn't disappoint" - and he was right!! These were some of the best sandwiches we've ever had! I got the Italian Beef Sandwich - it was good on its own, but when you dipped it in the au jus sauce - no words can describe how good this sandwich was! They also give you a good portion, so you will not leave this place hungry! My dad was craving a Cheesesteak and was so excited to try this one. It was a giant sandwich - filled to the brim with steak, topped with delicious cheese, and cooked to perfection... what more could you ask for? He loved this sandwich and ate every last crumb!! Both of our sandwiches came with hot, crispy fries - the perfect side to a perfect sandwich! We can't wait to come back and try more off of their menu, we heard the burgers are delicious too!

Don't know why they ask how I want my burger if it's gonna come out well anyways. Seems like they use a tasty blend of meat, but ours was overcooked. The owner was a little rude, but the cashier was nice.

This was the Big Breast sandwich with a side of fresh cut fries!

The service was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious! The staff was very friendly and the food was also presented great!

I've been dining at Local West for 8+ years and it is one of my favorite spots to grab a burger. So glad to see that they've been able to survive the pandemic and unfortunate challenges other local restaurants have faced. The service is always quick considering that the food is made to order. During my most recent visit, I ordered the Blacon burger with sweet potato fries and it was satisfying. My only complaint is that the burger was cooked a little bit more than I expected but not to the point where I didn't enjoy it. Local West is a casual spot and I often dine inside or outside on the patio. Would definitely recommend Local West if you're looking for a casual spot with friendly service and great food!

    Cow tippe burger with fries

Passing through Cleveland. Had the cow tippe burger. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, huge patty, awesome bun. Fresh cut fries cooked and seasoned perfectly as well. Great service and cool vibe with a lil reggae in the background and windows all around. Glad I found this place and will return again next time I'm passing through.

$1 À la cart for each lettuce and onion slice is crazy to me!

We shared the loco moski, paprikash sandwich, and a side of bacon wrapped tots (good option if you just want 2 and not the full appetizer). While the bacon wrapped tots are famous from Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, I actually liked the loco moski and paprikash sandwich more. The loco moski is a fun combination between a loco moco but with pierogi, and I like that the peppered gravy wasn't too rich. The paprikash sandwich was also a great combo of chicken, sausage, peppers, cheese, paprikash, on lightly crispy bread. Parking available as free street parking--though you may have to circle to find parking since it's near the Christmas House. Staff were nice and efficient. The place does feel a little tight in terms of space with less lighting, but there's still plenty of seating and what matters to me more is good food. Overall, great place to try local food. Would get the loco moski and paprikash sandwich again.

I wanted to try the pierogi and the Polish boy and the KRAUT and having an extensive beer menu doesn't hurt either. Friendly neighborhood watering hole literally on the corner and basically across the street from the a Christmas story house allowing you to eat within eye sight of the leg lamp. I wanted basically everything from the menu that came vegan (spoiler alert there are tons and tons of things) but gastric space comes at a premium on vacation so we settled on the fried cheese. I was very excited to see the Polish boy (and vegan option no less) I didn't have much of a choice. GF ordered the vegan pierogi platter with vegan kielbasa on a bed of kraut. Firstly the fried cheese was head and shoulders above any mozz sticks or anything of the sort that I have had in memory. The breading is seasoned and crispy and heaven on earth. The cheese is PIPING. Like you will burn yourself if you, like me, have no patience. The accompanying tomato sauce is also steaming. So good. The Polish boy was also in a league of its own. Love that they have a vegan version. What a combo. Probably one of Cleveland's most important community contributions. We ordered the latkes to go and they were orgasmic. What a special place.

Erin was our server and she was amazing, from beginning to end! We would come back just for her, but I know she works limited hours because she's busy being an epic artist! She let my dad tell her dad jokes and when he wanted to meet Leo (because he looks like Fish from Shoresy and my mom thought he was hot) they obliged which was truly going above and beyond (even if it made me and my sister a little awkward). The boudin balls were great! Very similar to New Orlean's verisons so that was great! We also tried the hot rocks which were also great! Our table tried both gumbos, the jambalaya and the crab cakes. All of which were delicious and the closest you'll find to NOLA style around here! For dessert my mom scored the last creme brulee which made her day and the rest of us had beignets. Their beignets are definitely not Cafe Beignet or Loretta's level, but they are still absolutely delicious as their own dessert, like a mix between a funnel cake and a beignet! Drinks were also amazing! It's one of like 3 places you can get a Pimms cup in Cleveland! They had a lot of other cool options and Sunday looks like it's usually an all day happy hour so we have to go back! And finally, I just have to note how beautiful the place is. I hope a new LGBT+ space will be created in Cleveland, but will be managed better financially than Studio West was! I have been twice to Muze for their drag brunches in the past 3 years and am sad to hear that it is closing. I love drag shows and enjoyed Muze's food for the most part. Their service wasn't always the greatest. Here are some notes I have taken (but never got around to publishing on Yelp until now) on my experiences there and the food I ordered: Recent visit in August 2025: The Sunday drag brunch was a $5 cover charge that was added to our bill at the end. They were out of burgers and chorizo that day so I got a diner dish with a chocolate chip pancake and smoked sausage and scrambled eggs. I had a diet coke to sip on but it was flat. My bf had a hash scramble and a mimosa. My friend got us pub fries to share. They were smothered in gravy. I ate way too many of these and probably grew a pants size or two! Monica Lexin was the host/emcee and our drag performers were: Monica Lexin, Kellan, Bran Stroker, and Golden Jack. The crowd was too quiet and too cheap, sadly, but in comparison to my last time I visited 3 years ago, the staff is much better and less apathetic. I found my old, unpublished notes from my visit 3 years ago and here's some highlights. I know the place was busy for the show but it took forever for us to get waited on. Waters were hardly ever refilled and we had to wait 45 minutes for water. Overheard there is only one bartender and one chef, odd for a big drag show money maker! Once the show got going, service got way better. As for food, the fries were not as crunchy as they should be, tasted fine. The garlic aoili was stellar as a dipping sauce. I ordered and received a very yummy Cubano with fatty and salty pork belly. My brother got a breakfast pizza with a swirl of hollandaise and an above average cheese pull. The dough was deceptively hard to chew. I brought home my brother's leftover pizza and my Cubano which were tasty as leftovers and I was very full. Overall, this was a great vibe. Glad we have it in Cleveland. Not amazing service but good food and great vibes OVERALL; Sounds like I would have given it 3 to 3.5 stars three years ago. I'll go ahead and bump my total review to a 4 since there's obviously been some improvement.
