5/5 I love coming to this little gem on Saturday for Karaoke. The bar has a low key vibe with a dark atmosphere inside which I love. The bartenders are attentive and take care of you. The drinks are strong and they serve food if you're hungry so I would suggest stopping by for a great time ! read more

If you like very loud music, this is the place for you. Our group had to leave for we couldn't have a conversation inside. Inside they were playing top 10 outside had a country band. The two didn't mix well, especially since the servers would leave the door open. Next time our group will go somewhere else. Too bad, this used to be a great place to watch a game and to catch up with friends! They are no longer my favorite restaurant in Riverside. read more

Went there this past Sunday afternoon to watch the football game. Several games where on, so yes it was understandably busy. I did not experience anything bad. Our bartender was Brianna, and even though she was the only one making drinks, she was nice. Food was delicious, especially for bar food. Nachos and tacos were in point! I had been to Locals before, but never for breakfast. The food was delicious, I had the Country Flatbread and substituted tomatoes for the sausage since I'm not a fan. I had two Bloody Mary's and they were good as well. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Ended up having the bottomless Mimosas and she made sure to keep the bottles coming. My friend and I sat on the patio and hung out there for a while. Quality food and service for the price! I will definitely be returning. read more

Came for Brunch and it does not disappoint Heather Jenn and Amber are fantastic! I got the Biscuits and Gravy breakfast. It was so yummy! Better than the average B & G. A friend got the "Mega Mary" Ho- Lee- Crap! It was a full brunch with a large margarita. Be patient, it's worth the wait. If you are a vegetarian I apologize, this isn't for you. But, they cater to the vegetarian community as well. Just not with this. The customer service here is STELLAR! I adore them. They aren't stuffy. It really is a public place to hang out and enjoy good food and community. Adding to this- the restroom is SO thoughtfully done. Don't steal the stuff provided! Wouldn't recommend this place! We stopped in for a quick drink on our way to a movie- Happy and glad to be there! I sat at the bar, lady asks if she can help- I say 2 shots of tequila! She asks what kind, I ask what kind does she have? She glared at me rolled her eyes, then turned around and starts starts helping another customer who had just walked in. My friend comes out of the bathroom, we sit for a while and she just starts taking other customers and was obviously ignoring us so we ask her if we can order. The lady screams you're gonna have to wait cuz I'm swamped and it's only me! I turn to my friend and said let's go! The lady was rude as shit, and obviously didn't want to serve us. I was NOT gonna let her ruin my day and definitely not about to pay for service like that! read more

I've been here a few times and have generally enjoyed our experience as drinks are usually nicely poured but this last time was a nightmare. Bartender (Blonde) was very nasty and rude for no real reason. Yelling and seemed mad that she was working. Other times she has been cool, getting her drink on while tending to customers. This night was not one of those nights.... The kitchen was aggressive, slammed the plates and dishes on the table. I said 'Thank you' many times with no response. She came out the same way when returning to clear the table - taking drinks and food that we weren't done with. By the time we noticed she already had stacked the dishes. Felt really hostile and I don't know about anyone else, but that is definitely not what I expect when I go out and patronize local establishments. Seems the workers act as if they own the placed and are selective who they are kind to...they also are partial depending on who you support politically, this I based on blonde's interaction with other customer that shared her political views. The food was pretty tasty, the bathrooms could use more tending to. I generally don't bother rating 2 star experiences, I simply don't return but I feel it's necessary for management/owner to be aware of the employees they entrusts to manage their establishment. I will no longer return to this establishment, I rather spend my money where I feel welcomed. read more

I was looking for a place for a group of us (7) to go filling a funeral at RNC. This small Welcoming establishment ended up being PERFECT! The menu has great choices and we ended up ordering pretty much some of everything on the appetizer menu - and it was ALL Good! My big recommendations would include the steamed clams( although we were given mussels that day) In an incredible tomato-based garlic and herb sauce: very fresh; it comes with bread but order extra as you'll want to keep dipping into this stuff! Also: we ordered all the different tacos ; Now you can't leave here with trying the Ricardo tacos that have cream cheese stuffed jalapeños along w your choice of meat. And the chix bacon chipotle quesadilla.... They have a good selection of beers/IPAs and a full bar. Brianna was our bartender and server and she is the Bomb! Talk about efficient and nice. We all wished we lived closer to this jewel. And drum roll.... Great Prices for what you get!! read more

Wow! What a difference from 2 years ago. Glad we've been back. It does seem like there is a more chaotic vibe at night, and I believe some of the stories, but for a weekend day or weekday afternoon, they have it together. On summer break, so we've been there a handful of times during the day. Service from Heather, Shyla, and Jen has been friendly and on point. Food has been phenomenal. Beers cold, drinks mixed right. I'm loving their flatbreads. Brunch is great too. Going to try Spaghetti night on Wednesdays. Hardworking group of people here, can't blame them for some of the behaviors of their patrons. Came on a karaoke night at the invitation of my brother and sister in law who are regulars. Met owner Kim, bartenders Heather and Shenandoah, and cook Jordan. All of them are very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the carnitas nachos and Jordan quickly whipped them up. Best nachos ever! If The rest of the food is as good as the nachos, this is a great place to eat. The regulars All know each other and seem to show a great deal of affection towards each other. Seriously, I thought I was at church. If you're looking for a fellowship and new friends this would be a good place to start. It's rumored a famous Hollywood actress shows up on karaoke nights but she didn't show up last night. My loss. The only drawback to the place is the noise level. Sometimes you have to shout to be heard by the person right next to you. If you want to have a conversation with somebody you pretty much have to go outside. I highly recommend this place though for just good fun and good people. I've never seen the like. read more

Definitely a "Cheers" type atmosphere. In the 1982 season some 37 actors were hired for free-lance parts in "Cheers." Only one was black, and he was seen in one episode. All the other episodes were free of blacks. All the regulars in "Cheers" are white. During the 1983 season, in the 18 shows produced, three performers were black of 58 free-lance actors hired. I wondered if they counted one black in a show I'd seen who was moving through the bar with the speed of a perpetrator. I didn't even get to see his face in the four seconds he was on. Well, maybe the producers have sound artistic reasons for not serving drinks to blacks. The bar in "Cheers" is based on a real bar in Boston. Considering the ferocious pluralism of that city, the producers could be trying to provide a delicately chilled intimation of the apartheid in working-class parts of that town. One corn dogs and half the burger made me really full. Their cold water is so good, I think I drank like 6-7 cups total before and after eating. There is also a live entertainment while we dine. The restroom is well stocked and clean. There is also a lounge area where anyone can sit, relax, drink and watch some sport games. I will appreciate it more if pets and their owner dine in outside the main area. They may not notice it but the dogs have certain smell that some people don't like to smell while eating ( like me ). All in all it is good. The servers are fast. They check on you and ask if there is anything that they can do for you. Napkins, utensils and to go boxes are available on the counter. Then another employee got on the phone and incorrectly stated that I had only ordered a cheese pizza. That was not the order I placed. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What is disappointing is the way the situation was handled. A loyal customer should not be met with denial and accusations when bringing a legitimate concern to your attention. Sadly, because of the poor customer service we received tonight, our family will no longer be supporting this business. We will also be sharing our experience with others so they can make informed decisions about where they choose to spend their time and money.

I recently visited Locals Public House with a group of friends, and our experience was extremely disappointing. The bar seemed somewhat inviting from the outside. However, once we walked in, we noticed that we were the only people of color in the establishment, and it felt like all eyes were on us. The bartender serving us was professional, but our experience took a turn when a server named Shannon approached us. She was completely and utterly rude, making us feel unwelcome from the start. Her behavior made it clear that this place caters to a "white only" or "white passing" crowd. Upon checking other reviews, it's no surprise to see several other 1-star reviews mentioning the same issues regarding the unwelcoming atmosphere for people of color. If you are a person of color, I would advise avoiding this bar. The atmosphere and treatment we received were unwelcoming and uncomfortable. We won't be coming back. read more

And that isnt even it. She decided to yell in my friends face because he told her that we were spending money and that there was no need for her to yell at us. She continued to scream in his face saying you dont have balls and put her hands on his neck. My friend pushed her off and a guy intervened and the guy tried to punch my friend so he pushed them both down it was messy and pointless! She was so drunk and loud and started a fight for what? Decided to come here for brunch since it looks like they are open for dine in according to people's posts on social media. I called to confirm if they were open and lady was rude, answered with "hello" and not the name of the restaurant. I asked what times the hours are, and she said curb side only then hung up very rudely. I went on Facebook where I always see that they are open for dine in, and sure enough it was open with people inside eating today! I actually wanted to support them since it's a local business. People shouldn't be posting on social media if they don't want others to know they are open for dine in. Bartenders don't smile; not very friendly; one or two of them is extremely rude. Owner "Kim S." does not seem to care; cares more about her rude employees than her customers. One particular bartender "Travis" is allowed to swear at customers, call them the Mother F(er) word and insult customers. I've never seen anything like this. I have never encountered a business owner who could careless a out her inappropriate bartender is is one day going to get her sued! Why is he still working there. When the food arrived, it was actually very good--the salad was tasty and they were plenty generous with the chicken. However, the issue came when we got the bill. I noticed a $2.25 charge just for the extra side of dressing. My complaint isn't necessarily that there *is* a charge, but rather that it wasn't stated beforehand. There was no mention of it when ordering, and in my opinion, $2.25 for a simple side of Caesar dressing is excessive. We finished our meal and left, but between the heavy substitution fees and the surprise dressing charge, the customer service policy here feels a bit nickle-and-dime. Good food, but transparency on their pricing could definitely be improved.

The Stable is a sit down restaurant with waiter. The ambiance is pretty nice. The building is only a few years old and it represents a great upgrade from the old Barn. Most universities don't have this option of a kinda upscale dining on campus so it's a bonus. The food is quite solid. They just updated their menu so I haven't tried everything yet but everything I've had is solid. My favorite is the chicken Mediterranean salad and I get it almost every time but the brisket is good too and the waffle fries and pizza at happy hour are great. Even though it's nice, I guess it's almost all UCR folks and their guess. I'm not sure people off campus would come since the only public parking is paid.

The space is used for many different types of events and is a very large venue. There is ample outdoor space and ample indoor space. I would estimate that the place as a whole could hold about 500 people, if not more. I was very impressed with the catering. It is very well prepared, visually appealing, and tasted wonderfully. The serving staff is very kind, attentive, and customer service oriented. I appreciated that they were on hand for any questions, concerns, and overall smiles for the event. There is a stage for performances, 2 bar areas (inside and outside) and also enough space to have corn hole and other outdoor games setup. I could see a wedding (ceremony and reception) in this great space. Great work UCR at preserving and providing The Barn, an iconic venue in Riverside.
