Made a reservation a month in advance and they were trying to stick my party outdoors. I was embarrassed in front of my mother in law because I had to cancel everyone's reservation and take them to another restaurant on her birthday. I told them to change the Yelp to outdoor selection not to be misleading and the answer they gave me was that they can't seat everyone indoors. I told them they were mis-leading but didn't get much of a response. I don't know what they will decide but I'm not coming back. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant. We are always looking for something different from Piattis in Danville. We have tried their sister restaurant in Danville and were not "wowed". It was just OK for the money. Today we stopped into their Lafayette location for brunch/lunch. I started with a mimosa which came out completely different than what I expected. It was made with Limoncello, which I didn't expect or like. We ordered their special appetizer of zucchini flowers stuffed with two cheeses and fried. It was actually quite good. We also both ordered Pollo Marsala, which was very bland. No garlic, barely any taste of Marsala wine. Service was good; but since the food was so unmemorable, we probably won't come back. read more

Very busy Saturday evening with crowds waiting. Great with parking in the rear. Some dining tables had tablecloth and others did not. Depends on the dining area. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Menu items were limited. Entrees were good but not great. The halibut special was overcooked. My watermelon salad was nothing special. I am so annoyed. I love this restaurant and their sister restaurant in Danville and we order from them for work but today they really got me mad. Its Friday and I call them at 6:36pm to order takeout. They answer with Hello so I'm not even sure I called the right number until I asked and then they said "we have no more food for the night we're done". What's up with that? Came here during a relatively busy week night. Parking was a bit challenging but finally found street parking. We made reservations and were promptly seated. The outdoor seating is super cute and cozy. We ordered a charcuterie plate and a salad for appetizers. I also ordered the carbonara and my husband ordered one of the pasta specials. I really wanted to like this place as I work nearby. The food was not bad but quite unimpressionable.I enjoyed their Panna Cota though! I do feel the need to comment about customer service. Our server that night was nice and attentive but one of the other servers made me feel very unwelcome. I won't go into details but I'm sure I would not have been treated the way I did if I blended in with the rest of the older, more upscale Lafayette crowd that night. These people were the best to work with. My brother passed, we looked for an Italian place close by to hold the celebration of life. We held it in the outdoor sun room during heavy rain. Authentic Italian restaurant with large outdoor tent and heat lamps. This is a nice restaurant for groups, or even just a date night out. Don't go looking for health food though. Pizzas are large and the Diavola was a bit chewier than I'd hoped, not crispy. The lobster ravioli was yummy and heavy. Calamari was well cooked, and the brussel sprouts were good. I'll definitely go back but will go on the earlier side, bc the daily special and the branzino (my first choice) were both sold out. Great wine selection. read more

LP was awesome! I had my doubts as we had a bad experience at the old, sub-par Artisan Bistro. Went on a Saturday night and I believe half of Lafayette was in attendance. No parking out front so I found an alleyway on the side of the restaurant and parked in the back, adjacent to the entry. We noticed they had added substantial seating capacity with a large heated tent like area on the back of the restaurant. We asked for seats inside and sat at a small table in mid restaurant. I enjoyed a plate of fresh lasagna with the sweetest tomato sauce this side of Sicily! My wife enjoyed the Penne w/ Pancetta. Cost of the meal was very reasonable for La Morinda dining. We dined with friends and were duly impressed with the prompt service, the menu explanations, the freshness of the vegetables, and the flavors of the sauces. There were a couple of small hiccups: the wrong soup was brought to the table, and the beet salad needed more beets, however both were delicious so no complaints. Indoors is noisy but cozy and warm. Our waitress was Marina who was very hospitable and attentive. Then there was David. This guy was full of such energy, and can sing his lungs out! There must have been 7-10 birthdays in the house tonight and he treated them all the same. With his operatic voice and awesome attitude towards the patrons as a whole really gave this place that extra homey feel. Wow. Pasta was homemade as was the sauce. We sat outside in the covered patio with a heat lamp to keep us warm. Excellent wine recommendations and delicious pesto gnocchi. Our server, Marina, was incredibly attentive, kind and a pleasure. We are so impressed that this place exists in Lafayette and hope it continues to thrive. It reminds us of our travels to Italy. Enzo and his team of professionals, once again, make your dining experience at Locanda Positano far more than you would have ever anticipated. He has brought his flare from his successful San Carlos restaurant, moving it to Lafayette. Just like his Danville restaurant (Locanda Ravello) and San Carlos, the food is amazing, Mama Carmella's recipes are an added plus to the menu and special events and the attention to detail making you feel well cared for is an added plus to the experience. Everything about this restaurant is authentic. It's quality Italian food that is priced well. I'm so happy they came out with another restaurant as locanda Rovello is a favorite of mine. Their portions are large and have all the best Italian flavors. I appreciate that they have light and heavy dishes so if you're in the mood for a big plate of pasta or lasagna (which I highly recommend) or fresh fish or salad, they have it and it's delicious. The lunch menu is less expensive and you still get great quality! I tried the sea bass which was made in a white wine sauce with vegetables. Fresh, savory, and filling. My husband and I always start with their charcuterie plate. It's big enough to share with more than two people. Barata, meats, mozzarella...they have it all and it's incredible. My husband got the lasagna which he deemed his new favorite dish. We ended the meal with lemoncello. Man, the best balance of lemon, Liqueur, and a hint of sweetness. If you're going to get an after dinner spirit, give the lemoncello a try for the full Italian experience. We're adding this to our new list of regulars! read more

My wife and I joined another couple for dinner at Locando Positano on a Friday evening. Table reservation was for 6:00. We had a delicious meal. Shared the watermelon arugula salad followed by the linguini seafood special, chicken piccata, sea bass special and gnocchi pesto. We brought our own wine and had a wonderful evening. That is until the end. We paid our bill and shortly after we're asked to leave because people were waiting to get in. We paid over $300 for our meal and didn't have the benefit of enjoying one another's company after our meal. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant in this way before.
