Cool place! Came here for lunch and was greeted fast by the front worker (I think owner). He was very helpful. Lots of specials going on but I opted for a mushrooom sausage calzone with a glass of wine. Interior is very nice and old school pizza vibey. The calzone came out quick and hot. The crust had a nice chew to it, not too thick or too thin, and the marinara sauce was great. I would love to come back to try more of the menu. read more

Great local Walnut Creek pizzeria with a small but cute interior if you want to eat in and easy takeout. Service has been excellent every time we've ordered in person or by phone. We like their pizza crust which has a good chew and the right thickness for our palate. They are pretty generous with their cheese blend and red sauce. The toppings have been good quality and while I would always like more volume of toppings, the amounts were reasonable. Their green salad was excellent, with a generous portion of fresh, crisp greens and veggies, and both their balsamic vinegar and ranch dressings were tasty. We each got a medium size cuz we were feeling very hungry. I chose the BbQ chicken, friend chose the Pesto Paradise (sans tomatoes). We also went ahead and ordered wings (8 to an order) in their Garlic Parmesan sauce. Limited inside seating, but most ppl seemed to be doing takeout/ delivery. They have a decent CocaCola soda assortment, one of their A Signs says they'll be serving Beer and wine in the near future!!!! We ordered an extra-large thin crust pizza, half Hawaiian and half all meat, and it was absolutely delicious & perfectly baked with fresh, flavorful toppings. For dessert, I had the Moose Tracks ice cream, which was super rich and creamy. The menu has something for everyone. You can create your own pizza with fresh, homemade dough and delicious toppings, or choose one of their specials. They also offer sandwiches, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, garlic breadsticks, salads, and desserts like mini pastry bites and cheesecake bites. Every bite tastes homemade and full of love. I love their story too, they've carried on a family recipe for over 20 years while adding their own personal touch. Every pizza is made with care and passion, and you can truly taste it. I also think it's so sweet that they named the restaurant after their beautiful dog, Ellie & it makes the whole experience even more memorable. Great place and great people! We were looking for pizza and happen to drive by on our way to downtown WC. Once we got to downtown, we decided to head back to Ellie's and man, what a great decision! Absolutely loved coming here last night! My husband and I like trying new pizza spots and after seeing wonderful reviews we decided to try. The staff were so welcoming and getting to meet the owners and hearing their story of creating a family run pizza shop was so heartwarming. We made our own veggie pizza and it was delicious - the ratio of sauce, crust and cheese was great. Prefer a little less cheese but I'm sure that's doable. Otherwise they are not playing around when it comes to a a delicious crust!! Loved the bite and crispiness it had (ask for it well done!). Also we're delighted to see an ice cream shop inside as well - we tried a few flavors and can't wait to try more. This is definitely going to be our new neighborhood pizza stop! The first time I tried Ellie's Pizzeria, it was fantastic. My second order, however, didn't live up to that same experience. It seemed frozen and lacked flavor. The pizza tasted different and wasn't as flaky as before, and the wings weren't crispy (though that may come down to personal preference). Before Ellie's was Ellie's, it was Pizza Oliva, one of the best pizza parlors in the county, maybe THE best. So when they changed hands, my wife and I had some concerns. Would they really keep it the same? Well, if anything, they've made it better. The pizzas I've had from them over the past few weeks have been the best pizzas I've ever tasted. I order the thick crust with salami, mushrooms, green onions, and fresh tomatoes. Delicious. Moist, flavorful, absolutely perfect. With service and friendliness to match! First and foremost this is some of the best pizza I have had in the area, easily top 5. The pizza margarita was great, I am going to try the chicken paradise next time. Discount anyone who tells you this is a 5* pizza. They don't know good pizza and it's certainly not even notable or return worthy imo. Don't let the beautiful photos of Italy in the store throw you off because it's not Roman style pizza, nor Neapolitan style, not east coast style, so what is it? Sort of bland Californian style I guess. To me just a step above frozen (and maybe just, as there are some pretty decent frozen imports out there.) I think if I did a side by side with Dominoes, Dom would come out ahead ( I had Dominoes a couple of yrs ago and thought it was not bad and it was super affordable) - whereas this is pretty expensive for what you get. However if you like pizza with no personality maybe this is for you. Pizza was a 1or 2* as I said- it was edible and not greasy so there's that. Service was fine and relatively quick.
