This place is amazing! Unless you have grown up or live in the area you'd never know about. It is the underground slam dunk of ridiculously authentic pizza specials (Mexitelli/Texitelli) & superb Italian pastas. They have a bar area; always showing some kind of sport. Ughhhh.. this is hard. I once loved locatelli's on the little corner across from my cute little neighborhood. Oh why oh why would they stop making their dough fresh, in house everyday?! Why go to the frozen stuff made in bulk without the love? The pizza is fine... just not spectacular anymore. When asking about this, the answer I get is they cant make it fresh, in house every day... what?! You cant put the same quality and love in your pizza that you once did? What a shame :/ I sure wish you would! I will still go there as it is still a nice place with decent a decent beer selection and the service is too notch, but when I'm in the mood for a really fresh tasting pizza, I may have to drive a little farther :,( so sad. read more

Fantastic, thin crust, New York style pizza with an excellent selection of wines and craft beers. Casual environment with plenty of TVs to watch"the game." So glad they opened another location up in Tomball (as well as Cypress & Magnolia). This alleviates a little of the congestion waiting for a table. Walked in today, and we were told they couldn't seat us because they didn't have enough waiters, and basically asked us to leave the restaurant. There were two of us. Was also there a well ago, and the wait staff was so overwhelmed, that they couldn't keep up with the customers, and dishes were piled up in the back of the restaurant, along with the employees complaining about it. read more

This is a solid choice for anyone wanting to try pizza in the area. A lot of people will definitely like it and give it a higher rating. Based on other pizzas Ive tried, and trust me I have tried a lot, has skewed my method of rating. I think I would have rated this a 4 if I hadnt tried such a variety. Everything abut this place is welcoming, employees go above and beyond so I will say they have excellent customer service. The salads are large and fresh, especially the Greek Salad! Do not overlook it and order one! The fried ravioli is a great alternate to cheese sticks! The order is small but you will enjoy every bite! Now the pizza for me was quite large and reasonably priced. There seemed to be something off about the crust and the sauce had a sweet after taste. The crust was a bit doughy and I caught myself finding patches of it not baked entirely. The crust was a bit tight and it crumbled in some areas. I know this is not authentic Italian pizza, which I measure most pizzas to, but I think other pizza joints with the same pizza rank higher on my list. Again, you will definitely enjoy this place but for me it was just average. read more

I've recently moved to the area and in an attempt to find a great pizza, I tried Locatelli's. Unfortunately after two visits, I have to say, this is the WORSE pizza in the area. The crust seemed as if we're missing ingredients. When we inquired and had not finished the pizza, the wait staff could have cared less, as they quickly cleared everything but our drinks from the table. What we did eat, felt like a big rock in my stomach. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND... i tried based on previous reviews, but maybe those folks have never experience real pizza. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. I'm not from Houston, I'm in town on business and was recommended this place by a man at the company I'm dealing with. The place was clean and the young man that was assigned to us was ok; short answers and not very engaging, but not overtly rude. My issue was not with him. I ordered the Miss Katie's Homemade Meatball meal, but the meat was not cooked through and it had a very pungent taste to it. I immediately told the server who took my plate away and returned with the general manager. She insisted the meat was cooked when clearly it was not. Even the server agreed with me. After a long embarrassing debate where I was talked down to, they replaced my meal, but the young lady was so nasty about it, I didn't trust her near my meal. Terrible experience! We have been here before but this is the last time we give this place a try. First, I overheard the wait staff talking about how people working there were "dropping like flies". Something about the owners being sued?? Also, the garlic bread is just the worst garlic bread I've ever had in my whole life. I keep thinking they will change their recipe but alas, it hasn't changed in the last year that we have tried this place a few times. Still looking for a good NY style pizza in Houston. Sorry to the Locatelli's fanatics I came with (though you guys won't be reading this anyway ;~). The non pizza items might be good, but no way for the pizza. It's the crust... literally cardboard! Very dry, bland, and kind of felt underkneaded. The slightest fold would've made it tear completely. I guess the sauce and cheese were alright but nothing special. I tried both the red sauce and alfredo sauce pizzas. I'm a huge fan of white sauce pizza but I'd definitely stick with the regular red sauce here. Maybe the pizza is good for the area? I don't know, as I thought this wasn't even as good as MOD Pizza. Prices are alright and service is good, typical. Would not come back unless to try their Rho Rho pizza rolls I've heard good things about. read more

Hands down my favorite pizza place in Houston. Don't be in a rush when you go, it takes time to cook real food. They have an extensive menu and everything is good. I don't say that often. I am a huge fan of NY style pizza - thin crust that you can fold over and indulge without a fork and knife. The pizza crust here is thin and crunchy without feeling like it's a cracker. They use fresh ingredients and a have variety of different toppings to choose from. It's a bargained deal for the lunch special. Their pizza slice is huge (it comes with 2 slices!), the side salad is also a decent size, always so fresh, and a drink for around $8. My favorite dressing is their Greek dressing. Sometimes, I come here for lunch just for a salad. If you do, be prepared to split it - the portions are very generous! The waitstaff is usually young college girls, and they are always so sweet & hard working. Perfect hidden gem in Cypress for pizza and family friendly. read more

This is a great locally run restaurant with fantastic pizza. My wife and I usually sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and an ice cold draft beer and negotiate what we want to get on ours every visit. Ever get in a rut where you order the same toppings every time? Well you can feel free to branch out and try different ones because all the toppings here are high quality and super tasty. First off, I LOVE pizza. I moved into the neighborhood about a month ago and one of my first priorities was to find a "go to" pizza joint. Success!!! I've eaten the pizza here 3 times and every time it was excellent. It actually seems to get better each time. Slices are huge and for the quality of the pizza the price is very reasonable. If you like Pizza Hut or Dominos you probably won't appreciate Locatelli's. Pros: great service, clean & quick. Cons: one of the worst pizza crusts I have ever eaten. Hard and crumbled in half when I pick it up. Like dry cardboard with a taste of cornmeal. I couldn't even eat it, send it back. I thought it was just mine but when I looked at others, I think that's just the way they make it. Yuk! This cannot be hand tossed. Probably prepackaged?? The staff: Cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, peppy college age, hard working girls, always with a smile on their faces. First time there tonight (Valentine's Day) and we got there just in time (5:30 PM), within 15 minutes there was a waiting line. It's a small place, BIG DEAL, that's what makes it nice. I saw another poster was upset because she had to wait outside in the cold. WAAAH. It's not a big place! When we left, every table outside was filled and the people there did not seem to mind that it was dark and 60 degrees out and they were still happily eating their meals. My husband ordered a pizza, he said he would be back for more. The crust is thinner than, say, Papa John's, so that's a plus. I ordered baked ziti and it came with a wonderful salad. I orderd the house vinaigrette which was excellent. The greens in the salad were astonishing. They were like a spring mix (it looked exactly like HEB's organic spring mix) - usually one gets that nasty iceberg lettuce but this was a most excellent salad. The baked ziti was more than I could handle. I cut it in half immediately and put it in a to go box. I'm not a huge fan of marinara so it wouldn't be fair for me to say it was delicious but it was tasty for sure. The garlic bread was outstanding. Not that loaf most places chop into little piece scantily clad (or not) in butter - this was a little half submarine looking bread that was coated with garlic and butter, and baked, then a grated fresh parmesan atop. It was wonderful and baked to perfection, not the exploding crust kind, either. Good beer, I see they sell wine too. I'm glad they don't sell mixed drinks. Changes the atmosphere of a place. All in all, I liked the place a lot. You can call in your order and pick it up if you don't want to wait for a table, and a lot of people were doing just that. My family and I are regulars at Locatelli's and we looooove the pizza! It's such a friendly little spot with the greatest service, we can't resist coming here at least a few times a month. They have outdoor seating, a few bar tables and a reasonably sized bar. The only thing that's a little bit of a downfall is the that when it's busy, it's legit BUSY. Like the wait can be up to 1-2 hours, but that's only because the overall size of the place is tiny. I usually get the Greek salad, cheese sticks and a pepperoni pizza. I do want to expand my choices and explore other menu options, especially their different types of pizza. I really love coming here for an early lunch with friends or family because the service has never disappointed us. They've got great food, great service and the best crowd of people.
