Had an interview this afternoon I had to get ready for. I was looking all kinds of scraggly (not gonna share the before pic). Walked in last minute and Santino took me on right away and got me looking right. And I saw many of his fellow colleagues giving out some great cuts too. Happened to be in the area with my son one day and stumbled across this barber shop I asked if they take walk ins and cut children's hair a barber that goes by smooveblendz offers his chair right away and assures that "he's got my lil manz" normally I would take him to the local sports cutz but decided to take a chance on this young barber after a little less than 45 minutes my son walked out with the most dapper haircut I've seen on him since birth. I've been hesitating to write this review but it needs to be done to warn future potential clients of this establishment. I came to the shop last week as a walk in. It was my first time and I was amazed on how nice the shop is. Bright white walls, the hexagon lighting, and just overall esthetic was up to par! I was truly excited because the usual shop I go to is just your ordinary Asian owned salon and they can never get my hair quite right. I was instantly greeted by one of the barbers asking if I had an appointment or just walking in. I mentioned that I was walking in and they said no worries that they'd find someone to take care of me. I was shocked because I've heard that barbershop wait times can be crazy, but I was happy that I was going to be taken care of. I was introduced to the barber, his name was Toro. Extremely friendly guy, asked what I wanted, explained to him my haircut, and proceeded to start the haircut. As I'm in the chair, I'm seeing other clients walk out the door freshly cut. So I'm thinking without a doubt, my hair is going to be nice like theirs. That's where everything took a turn for the worst. My overall experience in the chair was quite uncomfortable. I felt like my barber wasn't paying as much attention to my haircut as he should've. He was constantly engaging in other barbers conversations and even at one point talking to another barber who was located on the opposite side of the shop. l just felt like he was constantly distracted and was more interested in talking to other barbers and their clients rather than focusing on my haircut. Not to mention, he was being obnoxiously loud while talking and laughing. Once I was given the mirror, my jaw dropped to the ground and not in a good way. Keep in mind, my haircut is quite simple- mid bald fade, slight trim on top to slick back, and a lineup. I know barbers have some off days but this was tarnished. I'm seeing multiple lines throughout the fade, cuts from razor on my hairline, and the top was super uneven. He charged me $40, I ended up tipping him $10, so $50 all together. I'm never the one to complain about pricing, as long as I'm getting quality back in return. All in all, I can say my first experience at Lochs wasn't the best. I loved everything about the shop except the barber that I was given and my experience in the chair. I'm going to give Lochs another chance considering I saw good quality work being produced by the other barbers. Although Toro was a nice guy, he's not the best barber and wouldn't recommend him. read more
