I've never had a bad time at Lock 34. The food - the few times I've had it - has always been excellent. But the main reason I go is for the nightlife. Granted, Lockport is short on "nightlife," but Lock 34 is a pleasant addition to the mix. The drinks are reasonably priced and the selection is great. In the warmer months, it's a great place to sit outside and have a beer (or 12). If you're visiting Lockport and planning on drinks, this should be on your list of places to stop. read more

Went here for lunch.....I ordered the chicken fingers. The fingers were on par with most in Buffalo, large and the sauce (sweet and spicy) was incredible! I'd probably order the wings next time with the any of the sauces, they're probably all good. Others in our party ordered the burgers and a large salad....It all looked really good. Wonderful friendly casual tavern and restaurant. Close to the locks on the Erie Canal. Nice selection of beers including Guiness on tap. The planko chicken was tender and good size portion. What a cute place and a nice surprise. This was our first time here and we will be back. The outdoor seating is fantastic. Reminds me a little of the courtyard pubs in Austin, Tx. The service was also great, despite that it was a busy Friday night. Seems like they had plenty of staff to accolade the crowd. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. This place is great, right on main street. We went for lunch, all of our food was good (seafood pizza, wraps and salads) and prices were fair. They have a nice outdoor area you can sit with an outdoor bar area too with big TVs. The inside is huge, I can only imagine how busy it can get in there during prime hours. read more

Friends and I come to Lock 34 often and it is always consistent. Great food great service. Andrea was excellent today. There hasn't been anything on the menu yet we have have enjoyed. Atmosphere is nice also and has a nice patio in the summer. Would definitely give it a try. read more

We drove 250 miles and found the place easy enough, the parking was great, we were seated within minutes of walking through the door. Our server was very polite and helpful. The dill pickles were batter dipped and therefor so much better than breaded ones. The salad my husband ordered was fresh and full of goodness. My sister said she would have put more sauerkraut on her Reuben but loved the corn beef that was on it. Her friend and I had burgers, both were done just right. Mine had enough bacon to make me happy, his had enough mushrooms for him to enjoy it. The dessert came home with us and after two bites of it was put back in the fridge, it was THAT rich. If it were closer it would become a regular hand out for us. read more

My restaurant of choice for my 64th birthday celebration with my 5 children and family tonight. 530 reservation left in an alcove with no service/drinks, and an empty dining area being the only table. My son went to ask if someone could come over to order drinks while waiting and the hostess says they are waiting for the rest of the party to arrive.?! What?! No service till they arrive? Finally a waitress was sent. Then after ordering our dinner one fish entree was overcooked and very dry..the waitress Leah, was wonderfully attentive and apologetic and took it back to replace it..but it took so extremely long everyone at the table already finished their meals and waited for replacement to a point it was uncomfortable for my family member to eat alone..unacceptable...this was the first gathering of family in many years and very upsetting we could not enjoy each other but have to be concerned with this service on such a special day...then charged 18.00 for it, the waitress had to seekt owner to get adjusted off the bill..was an important event for me and my children, and was so disappointing for a 170.00 bill, 40.00 tip to waitress and even the bartender coming over to our table to apologize for the service. I just went there for lunch and took a friend with me and I had raved about how good the burgers were. My lunch was TERRIBLE - I ordered a Burger Medium - It was way over done and so dry and my friend who also had a burger said it tasted like the beef was old. The service was also TERRIBLE. Once the waitress served us we didn't see her again so I asked another worker for some creamy BC because the burger was so dry - I didn't see her again for 10 minutes and she said what did you want. I went to Lock 34 with my girlfriend during lunch hour, we had such a great time. The waitress was very friendly, and very knowledgable on the specials and the soups. Me and fiancé went to lock 34 today for lunch we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the waitress was very friendly and easy going. We ordered a French onion soup to start great portion tasted delicious!!! Then as entrees we got a taco salad and lock burger!!! They both came out looked amazing!!! The taco salad was a great portion, there taco salad dressing was a great light dressing that fit perfectly with the salad. The burger was yummy, juicy and with a side of fries!!! Nice place for a sports bar! Thought it would be typical bar food had the flatbread with steak, blue cheese, caramelized onions and arugula that was really good. My sister and i come here a lot and we are never disappointed with the bartenders waiters and waitress. The food is amazing. With having some food allergies the cooks and staff were really understanding of the gluten and dairy free. lock city is good for food if you are a early eater,,after 8pm forget it,,,,been there a dozen times asked for food and told nope kitchen closed and they do not seem to like to do bar food either not overly attentive when you ask even for wings,,seems to me if they offered a reasonable full menu to 10 pm they would have full tables,we don't go there anymore as we are later eaters. read more
