Great food and great service. I especially enjoyed the prime rib on Weck. One of the best I've ever had!

We visited to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately the evening got off to a less-than-stellar start. Our server checked my ID when I ordered a drink, which was perfectly fine, but didn't even acknowledge that it was my birthday. Not a huge issue, but it would have been a nice touch. Service was also inconsistent. My mom's Diet Pepsi was forgotten when our drinks were brought out, although the server did bring water for the table, which I appreciated. The appetizer was delicious and was honestly the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, my entrée was where things went downhill. I ordered the twin filets cooked medium, but both arrived very well done. I mentioned it to our server, who took them back for a remake. When the replacement came out, it was served on a piece of lettuce for presentation, but the steaks were still not cooked correctly. One was medium rare, which I was willing to accept at that point, but the other was once again well done. I brought it to the server's attention a second time, and I was told a manager would be stopping by our table. That never happened. Instead, the entrée was simply removed from the bill. While I appreciate not being charged for a meal that wasn't prepared correctly, I was disappointed that no one came to speak with me or offered an alternative entrée so I could actually have dinner. The impression I was left with was, "We'll take it off the bill and move on," rather than making an effort to fix the situation. It's unfortunate because the two guests dining with me thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Sadly, I ended up leaving hungry on my own birthday. That's not the experience I was hoping for, and it's why I can't recommend Dockside Bar & Grill based on this visit. To make matters worse, after sharing my experience in a comment on the restaurant's Facebook page, my comment was deleted and I was blocked from their business page. Rather than addressing customer concerns or attempting to resolve issues, they chose to silence feedback. In my opinion, that's not good business practice and only added to my disappointment with the overall experience. Constructive criticism should be an opportunity to improve, not something to hide from potential customers. EDIT TO ADD AFTER MANAGEMENT RESPONSE: If you truly wanted to take full ownership of the situation, then either you or a member of your management team would have come to my table last night to speak with me, as our server advised would happen. Simply removing an item from the bill does not constitute fully taking ownership of what you referred to as a "human mistake." As for being blocked from your Facebook page, that's fine. Based on both my experience at your restaurant and your response afterward, I have no intention of returning. What is particularly disappointing is that after I posted my initial comment about my experience, no one from management attempted to contact me privately. You could have easily sent a Facebook message to discuss what happened and address my concerns. Instead, my comment was deleted and I was blocked from your business page. Your handling of customer feedback demonstrates a lack of hospitality and professionalism. Had there been better communication when the issue occurred, I likely would not have felt compelled to leave a negative review in the first place. The problem was never just the food or the mistake itself--it was how the situation was handled afterward. I can now better understand why other reviewers have commented on management's reactions to criticism. Word-of-mouth remains one of the most powerful forms of advertising. Unfortunately, negative experiences and poor customer service tend to spread much faster than positive ones. Since you chose to remove my feedback, block me from your page, fail to follow up after I had already attempted to address the issue while still in your establishment, and suggest that simply taking an item off the bill was "taking ownership," I will be sharing my experience with others and recommending that they think twice before choosing your "on the water" dining experience. You asked why I wouldn't call you to discuss making things right. The answer is simple: you had the opportunity to do that last night. I ordered multiple martinis and each of them were disgusting.. they use soda water for a lychee martini and dirty martini had no vermouth which I've never heard of. Fish fry was amazing!!! My date and I got a fish fry and broiled Cajun lime fish. We enjoyed both! It was a Friday and they don't take reservations so we had to wait for a table but we knew that before heading there. Bartender was awesome! Never a let down at dockside! You come here for an experience. Great vibe to the restaurant and the patio on the water is perfection! My service has never let me down. The bartender Tim is one of the best bartenders I've ever had! They are extremely attentive and accommodating. The food is always solid! I cannot say how weirdly uncomfortable this place made me feel. I will just say that I won't be going back but that's beside the point. As a POC, I would only recommend going here if you want to tempt fate. It was one of the strangest experiences. Parking down there is crazy. However, they have a lot next to the building and across the street. A parking attendants sitting in the parking lot across the street from the restaurant directed me to a spot right in front of the restaurant. It was perfect. I thanked him, we exchanged niceties and I parked. Right outside the door is a man staring at us as if he's pissed we parked there. Oh well. He turns and goes into the restaurant. A few moments later, we do the same. Then it occurs to me that the man staring works there. I smile and say hello. He says nothing. Just kind of looks through me doesn't acknowledge me. Rude. Whatever. We go up to the hostess and we're told there's a 15-20min wait. No problem. It was a beautiful evening so we decide to go sit by the water. Not even 5 steps away from my truck, the parking attendant says something to the effect of 'you have to go in the restaurant if you park there'. I said, "We are, but there's a 20min wait'. He says "oh, ok. I didn't know that". Do you know this man crosses the street, follows us to the waters edge and watches us??!!. He didn't go inside to confirm the wait time instead he just stared at us. (I should have known then to just leave) wtf. So after about 15min, I get a text and go in. The security guard at the front door didn't respond to my hello or a smile once again. Just stared right through me. The hostess was quite pleasant and sat us outside. Now to make a long story even longer, it was 15+ minutes from the time we were seated until our waitress even acknowledged is. In that 15 minutes THREE couples came in and were seated. They all received acknowledgement and water before we did. And spoiler all THREE had their meals and left before us as well. But seeing as how the whole vibe felt like a scene from 'Get Out' I opted to cautiously and quietly take it all in. I had the jambalaya with a side of grilled vegetables. The jambalaya was too salty for me but the flavor was delicious. My husband had broiled cajun lime haddock. It was underseasoned. He had French fries (no ketchup), coleslaw and potatoe salad. It was ok; his needed salt and mine had way too much. Overall, the food was just ok. The drinks were delicious. I would not go back as I felt like the service was lacking, the environment was weird and unfriendly. That was my very first and last time there. read more

I placed an order for pick up for meatballs and a chicken sandwich last night. First the meatballs were forgotten when my husband picked up out the order and he had to go back for them. When we got them, they were cold. I couldn't finish the first meatball as I bit into a piece of bone. They also had far too many onions in them. We've been to The Dockside many times and never had an issue. This is disappointing and we will rethink revisiting. read more

Friday was beautiful so we decided to try out the Dockside before we went to The Fish Place. Even though it was busy, there was only a 15 minute wait. The unenclosed patio was open for drinks only so we waited there. I ended up having two of the dockside margarita, which is a jalapeño blueberry margarita. The sweetness of the blueberry kept the drink from tasting too savory like other jalapeño margaritas I've had. Pricy at $12 but so tasty. We started with calamari, which was great. I had the fish fry and my husband had a burger. The fish was good and the tarter sauce was unique and better tasting than most. Don't know what they add to it, but it has a reddish tinge. The fries are just okay, and the dipping choices are limited. I wish they had some sort of spicy mayo. My husband said the burger itself was good, but the peppers he added were overcooked. I would have had a burger, too, but they don't offer avocado as an addition. Lots of other great options like egg and bacon, though. Service was good. We sat on the enclosed patio, which was less noisy than inside. Definitely the ideal location. Good food, better drinks. read more

The food seems to have gone down in quality. The hostess said it would be about a 30-minute wait, so I gave her my name and number, and she said we could wait at the bar. We sat at the bar, and everyone I was with got their drinks at the bar, but for some reason, the bartender forgot my drink. He looked at me and even smiled a few times but never brought my drink over. After about 15 minutes, he came back and said he got sidetracked and finally got my drink. Then, after waiting for about 45 minutes, I went to see how much longer until our table was ready. The hostess said she messaged me, and we never responded, so she gave our table away. I told her I never got a message. After some back and forth, it turned out she never even had my name in the system. She said she would seat us as soon as a table is ready. We finally sat down and ordered. I had the mushroom burger, oysters, and calamari. The calamari was shriveled and dry and seemed freezer burned before they fried it. The oysters were good, cold, and fresh. The burger was good but the bottom but was soaked with grease and soft and mushy because of all the grease. Sitting by the front reception area, I could overhear the waitresses and hostess gossip and make fun of many of the customers as they left. Overall, it was not a good experience. Lower food quality than they used to have, long wait times, short staffed, and poor systems in place. This used to be such a nice restaurant. read more

Difficult review to write b/c some aspects were great, others were not. The jambalaya and the companion's fish, which was served over potatoes and green beans, were terrific! Jambalaya came with no salad or bred, which seemed odd. Both dinners were very tasty, served hot, plenty of food. Dessert, on the other hand, should have saved our $9.00 and the calories. It was supposed to be peach crumble. In fact, it was a slice of what seemed to be cheesecake, with crumbles on top. On each side of the slice were tiny tiny hard pieces of what was, we guess, supposed to be peach, but was flavorless. When we were placing our dinner orders, the waitress told us only 2 pieces were left of the peach crumble so we ordered one then and she brought it out almost immediately! Told her it wasn't wanted until time for dessert, but there it sat, for the better part of an hour, when it should have been served cold. Nice view of the canal, too chilly to eat outside. Gorgeous spring day. Decided to find a place by some water we've never been to for lunch. This place caught our eye and we gave it a try. Food was fantastic! Great atmosphere and super relaxing along the creek. Different spin on the stuffed banana peppers but they were incredible. Service was sloooow but we weren't in a hurry and took in the views. Wife had the Turkey Bacon handheld and I went with the Rodeo Burger. Large portions and very fresh and flavorful. Definitely will be heading back again soon. read more

We have been to Dockside several times, and up until tonight, it was usually ok. Tonight it was not good. We were seated and waited to place our drink orders, which is understandable. The drinks did take some time, more than we expected. We made our food orders, but which delivery of the dishes took a long time. I understand that there was an upcharge for a small Caesar Salad. The salad was not dressed properly, so I had to order more dressing for an additional $1. I cannot believe that it is another $1.00 for mayo on an already $17.00 Hamburger! Our visit was nothing like last summer's visit to Dockside. The quality of the food was good. We will rethink revisiting again. Come on...a spatula of mayo...$1??? read more

Come by once in a blue moon, and there must have been a blue moon out!! Always great service. Wanted to have the swordfish as I first had swordfish in Portugal and España, but they unfortunately don't have it available always. I was disappointed but ate something else instead. Always a good place to go for eats and more. If you get seated - if lucky - you'll have a view of the old train bridge and the canal. Just getting to my review updates. We went a week ago. Our meals were perfect. My husband had the Fish Fry, which was outstanding. I had the Turkey sandwich. A huge amount of meat on it. I was hesitant to order my favorite, which is the vegetables with chicken. The last time I ordered it, it must have been made by a new cook who put very little vegetables on the plate when normally the whole plate is covered with them. It was so disappointing that I've not ordered since. We love the restaurant on the water and sitting outside watching the boating and water play. The servers are always great. I walked into this place like a kid on Christmas morning, all because of one thing: LG Korean BBQ Wings. For those that don't know, LG stands for Lennox Grill,where I used to love their wings prior to them closing down. So when I heard Dockside had the same wings, I practically sprinted there, visions of saucy perfection dancing in my head. But then... reality hit me. When they brought them to the table, I could tell right away these were not the wings I'd been fantasizing about. Instead of the glorious, saucy legends from Lennox, I got wings that were small, dry, and as disappointing as finding out Santa isn't real. Sure, Dockside is a great place to soak up some sun, but if you're coming for the wings, do yourself a favor and take a detour. Ok so I'm finally back and everything is in full swing with a full menu unlike last times visit during the COVID times. I came with my friend around 6pm and the place was packed but after waiting a few minutes we got a seat out in the waterfront. The weather was great and we enjoyed the view of everyone enjoying their water toys (boats, kayaks, etc). Service was very friendly and I have no complaints on that or the food. We both enjoyed some frozen alcoholic beverages, but I would say if you're looking to get buzzed to bypass these because you can't tell there is any alcohol, but I had the spiked frozen lemonade with strawberry purée and it was delicious and refreshing. For my meal, I had the grilled vegetables with goat cheese and chicken. It was divine! I ate every bite on my plate and could eat this meal everyday! You can get it without meat. Or up-charged for either: chicken, salmon, shrimp, or 2 4oz filet medallions. My friend enjoyed her meal as well. I look forward to coming back and ordering the same exact thing! read more

My sister said this was a good place to eat, and she's right! We went on a perfect weather day and sat on the balcony overlooking the dock. Our service was excellent. Had a very enjoyable dinner here last night. From the moment we made a reservation over the phone, to being seated, served, and checked out - we were treated so nicely throughout! My husband and I decided to visit the Dockside on a Thursday night to check out the wing and prime rib sandwich special. We were very happy that we did! The restaurant and bar were festively decorated for Christmas, and the new fireplace added warmth and coziness. Everyone we met while here was very friendly and accommodating. We were impressed by the eclectic draft beer offerings, but wished our locally brewed favorites from Flying Bison had been available. Maybe next time. The signature cocktails looked interesting and festive. Our server, Natalie, brought us menus and took out drink order. We decided to order the smoked prime rib sandwich with a side of 5 wings, as well as an order of 10 wings. With the price of wings going off the rails, we were excited to have some that were reasonably priced at 75 cents per wing. The food was delicious. The prime rib was tender, piled high, and served with a side of au jus for dipping. It was perfection. The fresh cut fries were tasty and plentiful. The wings were well prepared, crispy, but still moist. I loved that they were served with both celery and carrots, and bleu cheese dressing for dipping. My only recommendation would be to lower the music because it was difficult to hear our server through her mask with the music so loud. read more

The salad was very good, I wish they would have asked how I wanted the steak cooked. It was very well done. My husband had a beer and the pulled pork. I like to hit Dockside at least once per summer. I met a former work colleague and friend for lunch. We had a very attentive server, Elliott, who deserves 4 stars. The food was another matter. We both ordered the NEW summer salad...Romain, peaches, blue berries, crumbled bacon and feta cheese. There was a load of romaine, two very small pieces of peach, a few blueberries and a bit of cheese with a vinaigrette dressing. So overpriced and tasteless. We asked for more dressing and they charged $2!! We let the server know the salad was "underwhelming" and he apologized and said he'd let the kitchen know. I'm reading a lot of reviews on the food here and I'm not surprised at the low ratings at all. So disappointed! read more

A nice, fun riverside bar that you can enjoy the nice weather at because they have an outside patio. We had clams casino , the fish fry and a beef on weck. I've eaten at Dockside a few times over the years. And every time I go I leave disappointed. But every couple of years I give it another try and sadly my most recent experience was a let down. I went with a friend for lunch. She had never been and wanted to go there so we could enjoy being by the water. I ordered the summer salad and an add on of a piece of grilled chicken breast. The salad was a nice size and the blueberries were tasty. And that's all I have to offer. The chicken was very thin and very dry. The "citrus vinaigrette" looked and tasted like oil. There was no citrus flavor or vinegar tang. It was supposed to have peaches in it but there were only a few small pieces. The salad was $14 and the chicken was an extra $8. It was so not worth it. Quality, value and taste were all poor. All I can say is I gave it another try. I won't be tempted to try it again on a nice summer day next year. There are so many better choices in NT now, water or no water side view. read more
