When she arrived, my baby had a rush of energy and wanted to play outside in the grass. She assured me that it was okay to take our time and let her enjoy outside one last time. We sat and she listened to my stories about her life, and when she wanted to go inside, we went in and she was given the sedative. She was so peaceful and laid in her bed. Then, she passed while the doctor and I talked about her life and how wonderful she was. It was the hardest day of my life, but the easiest day of my sweet baby Gracie's. It was worth every penny. I have never seen such a peaceful ending. There are not words big enough to communicate my gratitude. The end of her life was so sacred, which is more than most of us people get. But, I do tell people not to come to this office, and it's only fair I note why. I brought my dog in for chronic diarrhea. They gave me medication for him and did not test him further, even though he was an older dog. In the few months following, he was still getting bouts of diarrhea. I brought him in on a Friday afternoon. They took SIX x-rays of my dog. They told me that they could see some mild swelling, but weren't sure what it was. They told me I would need to book with their specialist on Monday. That evening, they called me and let me know that they were PRETTY sure my dog did not have cancer and that he would be okay to wait out Monday's appointment. The next day, my dog is acting strange but with reassurance from the vet-- I didn't trust my gut. That night, be projectile diarrheas blood all over the balcony. I rush him to an emergency vet. I get told my dog is riddled with cancer and that they're doing everything they can to keep him comfortable. They tell me I will have to learn how to IV him for his comfort. But, they soon realize that the masses on his kidneys had ruptured and the fluid had reached his lungs. $7k later, I lost my soul dog. I can't help but think that if Republic was more urgent or recommended me to go to an emergency vet Friday afternoon, I would've been able to have at least a few more months with him. For this, I can never forgive this practice or recommend them to anyone.

I did a bunch of research on different breeds and…read moredetermined that I was very interested in the Affenpinscher breed - a small black wirey haired dog with a lot of personality and a lot of spunk. I was casually browsing through Craiglist when I stumbled on an Ad for Affenpinscher's and Affenpinscher/Chihuahua mixes. I decided to take the drive down to Lockhart to check the place out. I figured if I didn't like the dogs I could just bounce. I drove past Dream Haven Ranch a good 2 or 3 times. There was no sign that marked it other then an address number which was hard to see. You couldn't see the "ranch" from the road. I parked at the side of the road and called the owner, CJ. Minutes later, he drove down in his late 90's Mercedes Benz S-Class ($70k+ when new). Apparently his father was a high powered attorney. He alluded to the fact that his father may have given him the car or something along those lines before he moved down to Lockhart to live like a hermit with his animals. I didn't want to drive up his driveway because there were a ton of bushes that would have scraped up the side of my car. CJ didn't mind because he uses his Mercedes to transport PIGS. Also, when he had Bison, one day they thought that the car's life had to end and they took it out on the front of the car (WTF!). We drove what seemed to be 200 miles up his driveway and then parked in front of his house. Or should I say houses? One was a mobile home that he lived in with some of the indoor birds that he raises. The other was a house that apparently only the dogs lived in - um, what? I got out of the car and was greeted to the sweet smell of feces. There was a fence around the dog's home that he hopped over to let the dogs out. He wouldn't let me go into the house to look at the dogs - my only assumption was because the house was in deplorable conditions from having the large number of dogs loving in it. While he was opening up the house I was greeted by a bunch of animals. He had tons of pigs, donkeys, peafowl, chickens, even a friggen monkey who lived in a box no bigger then 5'x5'. Most of the animals were not clean or fed very well. The dogs came swarming out of the house. He had a good 3 or 4 breeds. Chihuahuas, Affenpinschers, King Charles Spaniels, etc. He started running after the Affenpinscher puppies and scooping them up one by one. It was very evident that most of these dogs were not healthy in the least. Some were covered in their own shit. He finally grabbed a small little guy who seemed fairly healthy but underfed and completely terrified. In retrospect, I probably should not have purchased the dog and supported animal abuse. But the little guy was so cute, so terrified, and for some reason I justified it in my mind as "saving him". I can't imagine how many of the dogs either die of sickness, the elements, or abuse. I am highly doubtful that he sells all of the animals at his "Ranch" (animal / puppy mill is a better description). I brought him home that day. Over the next few days it became apparent to me that the dog (Mowgli), who was over SIX MONTHS OLD, had never had any human contact. He was afraid of me, leashes, cars, etc. It took months of attention before he finally came around. I was so upset about the whole situation I tried to contact the local animal protection agency, but never got a response. I just saw some ads on Craigslist from the guy and some people saying that the ads should all be flagged and I thought I should at least write a Yelp post about my surreal experience and warn people about doing business with Dream Haven Ranch. DON'T BUY FROM THIS SCUMBAG!

Puppy mill, piggy mill these words come to mind. I look watch scrutinize. All pens were clean, water dishes & food clean. All animals looked healthy & seemed to know CJ. We met the "parents" of the little guy I had in mind. They were clean, healthy & friendly. Ok, CJ went i nto an older modular home converted to a "nursery" came out with this tiny red pig with black spots. I instantly bought Rocky ! 12/28/2010. There's obviously more to it than just grunting so make you're appointment with this company!!! My dogs are happier dogs! My dogs don't have anxiety and IIIIIIIIII don't have anxiety. I can enjoy my dogs now! It's crazy. It's totally working! No treat or punish training. My Cooper is not fear barking and lunging at people and my other dog Hunny isn't separation anxiety barking outside when she can't see me. It took one water spray and a grunt before she came inside; I closed the door again and she quietly, patiently waited to come in until I let her.
