Service here was friendly, accommodating, quick and the food was pretty good. On first glance the restaurant screams tattoos and graffiti but you'll be served well-cooked food on classy white plating....well at least my food was ^.^ and not to mention affordable, in the heart of beautiful downtown Mobile. The sidewalk seating allows for great views of the nearby buildings and is comfortably shaded by large umbrellas. Now to the food. I had the jagerschnitzel. It comes with, I think potato salad and red cabbage. And a bacon mushroom demi-glace. I indecisively changed my substitutions twice so I ended up with mac and cheese AND onion rings so I ended up with quite a heavy meal, my fault :) the schnitzel was soooo good and the sauce added so much depth of flavor and saltiness from the bacon (in a good way!). The schnitzel and onion rings were so perfectly fried they held up their crunchiness for hours later after driving to Louisiana. Only thing that wasn't so great was the mac and cheese, it was served completely room temperature and a little TOO cheesy. Sat down immediately and ordered waited an hour and half for a burger on a stale bun... could only eat the meat that was just ok but was starving so ate anyway. Me and my friend Never got our fries that were supposed to come with our burgers.. he said they were changing the oil but the table next to us had fries as he told us that. Manager never came to table... server gave us a discount but in my opinion this is un acceptable .... would not reccommend very disappointing especially bc it says best burger all over their building. read more

Entrees came out before apps, fried pickles were great and seemed like a full jar of pickles. Kids tenders came out to table without fries, fries came 15 min later with some of our other entrees . Took 20 min from first entree to table till last. Server didn't check for drink refills mac and cheese was terrible noodles had been cooked at lunch I suspect and there was unmelted chunks of butter. Whenever I visit Mobile, I try to stop by Loda Bier Garten. They have a HUGE selection of beers to chose from. I guarantee you will find something you like. Located downtown, it's in a great location to relax and take in the downtown action. Their food is also excellent, with some unique twists to your normal pub fare. Our waiter Cameron was amazing. He was very knowledgable of their beer menu and offered insight on his recommendations. We never had to look for him, because he consistently checked in on us. Stopped by to checkout downtown mobile after coming from Pensacola. This place immediately caught my attention because of the great blues/jazz music playing outside. There was plenty of outside seating which I love when the weather is fair. The menu options are endless but I finally decided on the sugar rush donut burger. My wait time for the meal was relatively long but that was made up after I tasted the food. The sweet/savoriness of the donut burger was perfection. It was topped with cheese,bacon and a root beer barbecue sauce. I really wanted to ask the waitress to bring more sauce since it was used sparingly. The huge side of onion rings were extremely crispy! Would love to come back for the beer selection as well!! What a great way to end my trip. read more

This place was really good! Tried 3 different appetizers and was NOT disappointed! You seat yourself. The place fills up VERY fast unexpectedly! Everything is made FRESH. I literally saw the cooks preparing orders one at a time. Never saw food sitting out waiting to be delivered to tables for a long time. 'Shrooms were great, burgers excellent, German potato salad a disappointment for us, beers cold and bread pudding a nice change from the usual chocolate desert. Managed to spend near $100 for dinner. We stopped by on the way to Destin to surprise a friend who sadly wasn't working the lunch shift. We sat outside and were greeted quickly. I ordered an IPA, the Mac Attack Burger, and my partner got the Fried Chicken Salad. The food came out fast, the burger was very good-the patty was excellent especially with Mac and cheese on it but the salad was lacking. This was my first visit ever to Loda Bier (and Mobile). I just walked around looking for a place to grab a bite in this caught my eye. Great beer selection! We stayed in only one family of beers (stouts) and were happily introduced to about 6 free samples of some excellent beers, ultimately having several glasses each of two. There were plenty of other beer options that we did not even get to. Good ambiance, good service. Only had wings for food, but they were good. I noted the more negative reviews, but definitely did not share those experiences. Vastly underrated at 3.5 stars. read more

Mobile, Alabama is one of our favorite places to visit. We first discovered white barbecue sauce there, a zillion different flavors of moonpies, and some killer bloody marys. Like this one from LoDa Bier Garten, the self proclaimed "Best bloody on Dauphin" (and who are we to argue?). Made with Grey Goose and Zing-Zang Bloody Mary mix, with hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce, and garnished with bacon, olives, okra (this is the south afterall), green beans, cherry peppers, celery and a freaking CHICKEN NUGGET! All that and they top it off with a dash of Russian Imperial Stout. We're fans Loda claims to have the best Bloody Mary on Dauphin. Although we've had some good ones up and down Dauphin street in Mobile, Alabama, we aren't going to argue with the Germans. We DID thoroughly enjoy this drink, garnishes and all (that's a CHICKEN nugget). For chasers they stock 175 awesome beers as well. Definitely worth the stop. read more

Stopped in for a few cold beers while in Mobile. I had a late lunch so I was just looking for a small bit to get me through. The pretzel bites really hit the spot. They were deep fried, not what I was expecting, but filled with sausage and cheese. Beer selection was better than most bars, not sure how many taps, but probably close to 100. You can get a flight, 4oz. of four different beers, for like $10. That is the way to go if you want to sample several different beers. All of the other food that I saw looked very good. Waiter came out to offer me a second beer brought me a different beer by mistake, and then told me the manager was going to charge me $11 even though I wasn't going to drink the new beer. I had intended to try the donut burger but my goodness with the amazing selection available I ended up not ordering it. I ended up order the Courthouse and was delighted with my decision. I also got the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese... freaking huge and super good.
