Don't be discouraged by the average reviews. Lodge Wood Fired Grill took previous complaints seriously and revamped their menu, and my family has been really impressed with their efforts! You will notice the ratings will improve soon! While some of our favorites have disappeared (The BBQ platter with assorted meats and corn! Bring it baaaaack!), they've added others that are equally great. The kids menu has multiple options at $8.99 and include milk or juice. The chicken fingers (2) came with apple slices, and a choice of veggies or fries. The kids cheeseburger was adequate for a kid, and came with the same options. The artichoke dip was the ultimate comfort food. Lots of spinach and chunks of artichoke, served with tortilla chips piping hot. Big portions, too! I had the spicy shrimp pasta and it was indeed spicy! Flavor was on point, although I do wish the shrimp were cooked just a little bit longer. They tasted great, but the texture was lacking a bit. My husband had a rack of ribs and they were messy but they were really good! Lodge has the best French fries too! The slaw was dry and lacked flavor and dressing. It was served in a tiny metal cup that you usually see ketchup served in. On another visit, we had the new and improved adult menu burger. The patty is made in house and is excellent. You will not be disappointed if you order this. You can build it however you like. Our server was great - very attentive without hovering. I don't remember her name but we really enjoy her service. The restaurant was clean, and we saw employees immediately cleaning tables after parties left. Adequate spacing, employees masked appropriately, disposable menus, and hand sanitizer available. My kiddo and I ate here during our stay at Great Wolf Lodge over the July 4 holiday. Considering there's nearly nothing to eat within a 10-mile radius of the Lodge, the restaurant was decent and got the hunger job done. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived for dinner, although we did wait a bit to order and receive our food, because it seemed like there was only 1 waitress working that evening. Kiddo got a butter pasta kids meal - the pasta looked a little dicey (the not-so-melted butter looked a little off), but he seemed okay with it. The "fresh fruit" they advertise is NOT fresh; it's literally a sealed bag of sliced apples. I got the ribs entree; the ribs weren't the greatest but weren't bad, and the baked potato came with several little dishes of condiments on the side (cheese, onions, bacon, sour cream). The drinks came with paper straws (which I know the restaurant cannot help), but ugghhhhh...I hate those...they dissolve in your drinks. I like that you can just tack the charge onto your room bill. But as I mentioned before, had there been any other "restaurant" dining options within a short drive, I would have opted for that instead of this place, because it's not cheap! read more

That part was disappointing because we were counting on having a quality dinner that is better than a chain restaurant like Applebees. The wait time on food after ordering was 40 min!! This place is alright and it's nice if your staying at GWL because you don't have to leave. We ate here a few months ago and the menu was the exact same for dinner. They don't seem to rotate any of the main entrees out. The food takes a while to come out of the kitchen which can be hard if you have over tired kiddos. This was our very first time eating at the restaurant inside of the great wolf lodge. Usually we dine at the local businesses outside of the hotel but this time we want it to give it a go and see if the food is as good as people say. We ordered a Caesar salad to steak dinners and a pasta entrée. The Caesar salad was nice and fresh I didn't find a bunch of dead lettuce like I have an other places, our steaks were cooked perfect to order, and the pasta entrée was cooked perfectly as well. The shrimp in the pasta entrée were super yummy and tender it was an over seasoned and not too spicy. Our server she was fantastic. She made sure to keep up with her drinks she asked if there was anything else that we needed and she was very friendly to speak with in the chat to you about different things. We certainly did not have room for dessert but you never know maybe next time! Our experience at this restaurant was excellent. It was definitely a good choice on our part to give it a try and the next time we stay at the hotel this will be one of our top favorite places to have dinner with our family. The first night we ate there we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated and then once seated it was over an hour before our food actually arrived.there's also no restrooms in or near the restaurant so you have to use the restroom near the gift shop. read more

We were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. There were limited food options in the Lodge and we did not want to leave the site after spending the evening in the pool. We were seated after a short wait. Menus and water were dropped off. The menu is small, but there was a bit of everything. I ordered soup and salad for dinner. Food arrived fairly quickly as the restaurant was not busy. My tomato bisque was tasty. It could have had a better breadstick. I found the breadstick to be stiff and needed better cheese. I could not tell that it was supposed to be Parmesan. The salad was fresh and had a good variety of greens and toppings. I found the shrimp to be barely cooked and could have been on the frying pan a bit longer. Our server checked in on us regularly. When staying at Great Wolf Lodge, there aren't many off-site dining options close by (that aren't fast food--i.e., McDonald's; Dairy Queen), so the on-site options of Lodge Wood Fired Grill and Hungry as a Wolf happen to be the only "fine dining" choices around. Hungry as a Wolf specializes in Italian American Cuisine like pizzas and pastas whereas the Lodge Wood Fired Grill offers an assortment of American Cuisine (I.e, hamburgers; ribs). During our stay, we got food at the Lodge Wood Fried Grill on two occasions: On one late afternoon (4-6 pm), we were seated and served inside the Lodge Wood Fired Grill, and the other time (6:30 pm), we ordered takeout. During our dine-in experience, our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but obviously very busy. So, maybe don't expect to be checked up on for drink refills once the food arrives, and then prepare to wait longer than desired to pay the bill. When we ordered takeout, the wait was calculated to be 17-40 min on the automated text message received, but it ended up being a little over 40 min when the food was finally ready for pick-up. In terms of the food, the main entrees we tried were the Roasted "Free-Range" Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo and NY Steak Strip and Fries. The chicken and steak tasted better than we expected, but they also carried a "resort-level" price for what you get. The Kids Spaghetti and Meatballs weren't a hit, but the Kids Mac & Cheese was consumed without complaint. Some of the food, like the gravy and mashed potatoes, tasted like they were made from a powder mix (gravy) and flakes (mashed potatoes). In fact, most of the kids/non main dish food had that "microwaveable"/"pre-prepared and store-bought" dinner taste to it. Only the steak and chicken were the true stand-outs. On the desert and drink side, we were pleasantly surprised by the presentation/taste of the Campfire Cobbler and that of a cocktail made with peach bourbon. So, it's one of the only dining options for those staying at Great Wolf Lodge, and due to this, you're going to be paying more than the average to below-average food (+ dining experience) is worth. read more

Our group was delayed for check in to our suite for over an hour and a half. For the inconvenience we were granted a certificate to use on food or souvenirs on the house. We headed to the grill and got several appetizers, entrees, and desserts for two pairs of families. Surprisingly everything was fresh, tasty, and piping hot. The prime rib in particular was so well seasoned and succulent with the perfect ratio of meat and fat. The mushrooms, as a recommended add on, were well cooked in garlic butter. And the chimichurri sauce that it came with was had the perfect amount of brightness to offset the rest of the dish. Lastly, when we ordered dessert with what credits we had left, the wrong item arrived. It was replaced correctly without hesitation. Special shout out to our server Daisy Kahnau. Absolute gem of a hire. She was attentive, especially to our children, she was patient with all our questions, she was charming and charismatic, and she offered to clean up the glass cup one of our kids broke. Bonus points for being open until 10pm as the other dining options in the Lodge closed at 9pm and we were hungry. Lost points for running out of short ribs which were part of at least two menu items. Overall it was a good enough meal and ok overall experience. It is a nice restaurant, appears clean but the floor was sticky and there was so much soda spilled under our table that my feet were slipping around. This is a place that caters to kids so I'm sure they contributed to the sticky but I think some extra cleanup was needed. I ordered the short rib dip, my sis also ordered something short rib. We were both bummed when our waiter came back to let us know they were out. He'd already let us know it was his first day but he should have thought to bring us a menu when he came to tell us we needed to change our orders. I switched to the mushroom risotto and it was pretty good. Sis got a wrap, it was eh. Hubby got wings, he liked them but I didn't think they had any flavor. Niece got a kids burger and fries. There was a small handful of fries on the plate and it didn't look all that appealing. They should have plated the fries in a basket or something to make it look nicer. Nephew got spaghetti and veggie slices and he enjoyed his meal. Oh and hubby and I both got the bacon and blue salad and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. Like I said our waiter told us it was his first day. He was friendly but I'm guessing he doesn't have a lot of experience as a server. Hopefully, he gets better with practice. They have a fairly loud playlist going and I'm pretty sure there are no more than 10 songs in the rotation! Heard the same songs when we came through the next day. Chicken wings were good, but my husband i and both ordered the NY strip medium rare and they came out medium well. It wouldn't be so disappointing but at $37 a piece for a steak and fries it was disappointing. Also we were on the wait list for 45-60 min and when we hadn't heard anything after 60 min my husband had to check. Restaurant was almost empty and they seemed like they forgot about us! My 9yo daughter and I opted to eat at the sit down restaurant during a recent visit to GWL. We were seated in a dark conference room (most of the lights in the room weren't even turned on) with several babies and toddlers as opposed to the actual restaurant which was more than half empty. I asked the reason for it and was told the lodge was at full capacity and they were expecting a busy dinner rush but we were there before 5pm. When we walked back by the restaurant upon leaving, I noticed there were no children inside so I can only assume that's why we were seated where we were. However it should be noted that my daughter is 9, she is not a baby or toddler, and she knows how to act in a restaurant. Despite the lack of a restaurant atmosphere, we were still charged restaurant prices for sub par food. ($19 for small, basic bacon cheese burger and $9 for kids cheeseburger meal which actually had more fries plus fruits and veggies and a drink). For a restaurant located within a family resort I found this practice incredibly out of place. I will not be going back. read more

My half chicken was dry as all hell and it was the tiniest chicken I've ever seen, barely bigger than a Cornish hen. Mashed potatoes were gummy and had a film over them like they'd been sitting for some time. The mac and cheese was bland. The green beans were surprisingly well seasoned and perfectly cooked, but I didn't pay almost $20 for a meal of green beans. None of the food was hot. Don't waste your money. We decided to get the kids burgers from buckets and let them eat in the room while the girlfriend and I went here. Wasn't disappointed at all. I Got the bone in ribeye, Oscar style with mashed potatoes, she got the bbq platter with baked potato. The ribeye was pretty expensive at $48 but it was one of the best I've had anywhere. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, seasoned wonderfully, and had a good amount of crab and asparagus on top. The mashed potatoes came loaded, to my surprise, which was awesome. They could have used some garlic and salt but were still decent. My gf's bbq platter was great as well, though I think she thought it was just ok and seemed more interested in my food. Chicken was juicy and the ribs were tender. Sausage was great as well. I think our main disappointment was that the meals only come with one side (technically mine had 2 because I paid $6 extra to get my steak Oscar style which added asparagus). We felt there should be one starch and one veggie but I digress. Overall this was better than I thought it would be considering it's in a theme park hotel. After we were done eating we realized we still had the coupon for a free appetizer or desert that we received from the front counter when we checked in. They honored it even though we had already paid. Got some chicken wings to take back to the room, so that was a bonus. Definitely worth checking out if you are staying at great wolf. read more

Came here with the family during our stay at GWL. I got the wilderness bowl with grilled chicken, kids all got the kids burger that came with ranch, fruit, carrots and celery. For a family lodge, it's pretty good. Waiter didn't come by until 10 minutes but that's okay since we had time to look at the menu. I got the strawberry freeze drink and it was really good because it was hot outside and we just finished playing at the water park. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was okay, only a few chunks of lobster and the soup needed more spice to it but overall it was fine. The BBQ ribs were nicely done, had that "American" taste to it, but the ribs were over sauced and since the BBQ sauce was pretty spicy, it was a little overwhelming. Calamari wasn't that good, it was salty and not calamari tasting, and the squid was unusually soft. Also, usually calamari is in rings but these were in strips. It was also pretty battered so it tasted a bit too floury for me. We also ordered the pan fried oysters and the fish special which I didn't try because I was full. My parents said they didn't mind the oysters, fish (salmon) was okay. A little too expensive for what we got, but it wasn't too bad. atmosphere is nice and dim, but it doesn't look as kid friendly as it is. This place serves very family style American food. I haven't been to the USA in a little over 2 years and although Canada is right next to USA, food style is very different. solid 3 stars for being the standard I expect at a restaurant. read more

This place exceeded my expectations! I was thinking it would be way overpriced and the food would be average at best but it surprised me. The food was actually pretty good! I had the beef brisket sandwich, a tad dry but it was tender. I chose their mason jar salad with vinaigrette because I can only eat so many fries, amiright? The salad was fresh and vinaigrette was light and tangy, perfect! My husband chose the burger with bacon and cheese. It was good and not over cooked. I enjoyed their selection of cocktails and beers, They had a good selection of craft beers. Thank you for telling me about your wine and beer options to go. I don't think the prices were higher than a brew pub and that says a lot at Great Wolf Lodge where a lot of things are priced about 20% more than they should be (I'm looking at you Starbucks). The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nice decorated in theme of clamping tents. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I do recommend making a reservation if you've got a large party or want to go at a popular time. The restaurant was clean. I noticed a lot of families with older kids whereas the Loose Moose had a lot of younger kids. I think it's kid friendly and definitely I'll be coming back if we're staying at the Great Wolf. read more

I would never recommend this place. We ordered two meals on a Thursday evening (restaurant was not even halfway full) and my to go order took about 1.5hour long! On top of waiting about 20 minutes to place the order! It was Mac and cheese and steak! Thank goodness we were spending the night at the lodge but I can't believe how long it took for the food to be ready. Not even worth the wait! I strongly recommend to avoid this high priced restaurant and go somewhere else! I don't even know where to start. We only tried this place because my son really wanted too. Based on everything else at great wolf lodge, we were expecting Olive garden food at canlis prices. Boy were we wrong. The food is excellent. Scratch made. Kids meals are great, burgers cooked perfectly, great quesadilla, the chicken wings are top notch! We were there three times in a row! I stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and this restaurant was on site. Since I went on a weekday for an early dinner, it was not as busy. Service was good. Their food was delicious and they gave good portion sizes. It was nice they could directly charge our room number. I would recommend this place if staying at Great Wolf Lodge.
