Five star business. I was referred to Lodi Smog and Service Center by a nearby business that no longer does smog. I needed an oxygen sensor replaced. Lodi Smog was quite busy so they keep the car overnight and finished it the next day. To my surprise, the actual bill was quite a bit less than they quoted me. Now who wouldn't be happy with that! I was elated. They just might be my go-to shop for repairs in the future. Honesty in a repair shop is one of the major things I look for. Got to say these folks are straight up. My car didn't pass for smog at a check only station. I took it to a mechanic I know but he couldn't work on it as he wasn't certified to do smog repairs and it could run a few hundred up to $1200. Ouch!! I was worried when I brought it to them and they said the same thing. at least a few hours to diagnose as no codes were being displayed. So I was prepared for a large bill. I was very happy when they found it was just a dirty sensor that was easily cleaned. They even matched the retest price I had at the 1st shop and finished the smog check right there. I recently got a quote from Les Shwab up the street but after I priced the parts at O'Reillys I was shocked at the cost markup on the parts. Everything was at least 2X the cost. Anyway, I was referred here and so far so good. I like that fact that their a family run business and the chemistry be ween the staff there is smooth and friendly. I have had the worst luck trying to get my truck smogged over the last six months. I went back and forth between smog shop and repair place and each person said its the other shops fault. All my free time was consumed doing this simple task. I finally decided to call the money spent at these places a loss and take it to Lodi. To my surprise (sarcasm) I got a call an hour later that the truck had passed and pick it up. At that point I figured maybe I could bring in another problem truck. I've had several mechanics look at a electronic problem I've had where were the motor shuts off if I turn the head lights on. All the mechanics I've had look at it couldn't find the problem and that was more wasted money. I took it here and in two hours I got a call to pick it up because it was fixed. From now on I'll bring my vehicles here where it's a one stop smog and repair shop. No need to go to multiple places anymore now that I've found this gym close to home in Lodi. read more

This place is..Is THE PLACE. one stop shop. And I mean one stop that's it. Took my car in for smog. Which it passed that's awesone. And needed oil change and brakes come to find out they do that here. Also they checked my spark plugs and found that they were the original on the vehicle probably since new. And with 145000 miles. They didn't look that great. So they did it all while I went to downtown and watched a movie and had lunch. Thanks lodi smog. You guys are the best. And you earned a customer for life. Went to this place on my brother's recommendation, so glad I did. Junior greeted me, listened to my tale of woe regarding having gone to "A Better Smog" (on Pine St) a year earlier with my 2010 Corvette for it's 1st smog check. It had "failed" because (not being my daily driver) the battery had been allowed to go dead and all the monitors dumped their info. This was something I had no experience with. "A Better Smog" charges you full price for the smog test and offers to charge you "only" half next time if you come back within 2 weeks for a re-test (which you may or may not have done enough of the right kind of driving in that time for your vehicle to pass). I told Junior that i just wanted to know where he was, his hours and price for a smog check... and that I'd be back after I ran my Vette on the freeway for another 30 or so miles. He suggested he could connect his device to my Vette's port and determine whether there was adequate data available to run the test... and save me the extra driving if there was. Sure enough there was and he took my Vette right in and ran the test... it passed and the total cost including e-filing of the smog certificate was a flat $50. Was so happy with the service Junior provided me. I will NEVER go to "A Better Smog" again... if Junior could do a quick pre-test check to confirm the monitors had sufficient data to proceed with the test, so could have "A Better Smog" While there, I talked to Junior about changing out brake pads on my Vette. It was clear he was knowledgeable on the subject, and I felt confident he would treat my Vette with the care required when the time came for the brake job. He checked the remaining life of my brake pads just to give me an idea of where I was at with those (saying I had ~50% life remaining)... a straight shooter with fair pricing. read more

Had my car smogged here and it failed. I did the necessary fixes and took my car back for a re-smog and was told they are refusing to re-smog because i talked to them poorly the first time. I never spoke to anyone poorly the only conversation was them explaining the issue and me asking a few questions but never was anything in a poor or negative tone and so obviously they don't want to honor the discounted or free re-smog if car fails. Im the most shy person I know. I wish I had it in me to be assertive or speak up but I don't. I'm dumbfounded. My dad usually takes all our cars in for smog at bobs precision and he said they are always nice and courteous and would never pull this type of stunt so taking it to bobs from this point forward. read more
