Horrible like I have no words. Children practically working who are very anti people and social apparently. Like I get it's Easter but have to seat yourself (which I had to ask if that's what we do after pry 2 min of employees just starting at us). We sit at a booth and I am looking all over for a high chair and I loudly ask if they have them and am completely ignored. I asked for menus and was directed to a screen I could barely read (had my glasses on but the contrast etc was impossible). Was also told to order at the counter. If this is because it is Easter my suggestion next time would be to close. No manager or anyone of responsibility within sight and just horrible service all around. We have been before and had amazing service where a host greeted us and sat us, a server took our order told us specials and gave suggestions. This time we got up and left and will be heard pressed to ever go back. It was horrible and I still am like is that really the way it is now. If this is their new business model they need to reconsider or sadly a lovely staple in the community won't survive. read more

Very impressed by this old fashioned soda bar. Not quite the 50's look I expected from other previous reviews, but definitely the classic 50's soda and ice creams. My dad and I went and split both a Florida Cow and their chocolate brownie sundae. We substituted the two scoops of chocolate ice cream on the sundae with one of vanilla thinking we would get enough chocolate from the chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, and chocolate whipped topping. We were right and even would have gotten all vanilla ice cream. The Florida Cow shot me back to my childhood tasting exactly like a dreamsicle. Next time, I might ask for an extra scoop of the ice cream, I have a serious sweet tooth. Service was excellent. Not too in your face, but they made sure we knew they were there to help. When we asked for the substitute of ice cream flavors the clerk was happy to make the adjustment. The store is great too. Lots of fun games to look around at and funny toys and t-shirts. The waffles were yummy and the strawberry and blueberry compotes my mom and I tried were the perfect toppings. The biggest problem I could see was there wasn't a big enough dollop of whipped cream on the side. I got the sausage patty instead of bacon and it was wonderful. I have been a long time fan of their YouTube channel. I decided to order some candy for the first time. Even with Covid-19 it took less time to arrive than I thought it would. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful these candies tasted. We ordered blueberry, police box,babel fish,and black currant. The black currant was my favorite. The uniqueness of the flavor and quality of the candy blew my mind. My daughter (8yo) loved the babel fish to the point she wants to take a vacation to go see how they make the candy in person. The only rough part is we live in Ny. Only 17.5 hour drive. I said yes. Long story short I think I am now addicted to these candies and will definitely order again. read more

Have you ever wanted to watch a mastermind make some hard candy while learning about vintage calliope? Maybe you like Victorian era tools and candy making equipment? Greg and Jake made a Canadian maple leaf hard candy and told us the history of Florida state baseball 7th inning stretch. The process was mesmerizing, and the candy was wonderful. Before we left, Owen had to try the apple strudel ice cream. It tasted like sin, I immediately prayed to god. So come down and sit there for 3 hours watching the greatest candy making American hero make some rad hard candy, that before we left he gave us a bag of. I get it COVID, hours aren't the same. Business is slow (meaning you should REALLY want to sell me an ice cream). Regardless, if you close at 9 and it's not 9, you're not closed. Her response to me when I said I wanted an ice cream was inappropriate and totally turned me off to going back. This place is really cool! They were having a kids party when we went and they seemed to have a great time. They had so many ice cream flavors to choose from and not just your average flavors either they had unique ones like chili chocolate and butterscotch swirl they also make shakes and different ice cream creations. This place is ridiculously good. To start with the ice cream is shipped in from The Old Meeting House, Tampa, FL. Old Meeting House has a long tradition of making excellent ice cream. I had a sundae with vanilla ice cream and chocolate ganache. The ganache is more like hot fudge and you can tell it's homemade. The place makes all their own sauces and has fresh whipped cream. They have a wide variety of flavors and also offer all kids of malts, shakes, egg creams, etc. The other half of the store is filled with unique games, kites, bicycles, and toys, that I wasn't much interested in. The staff is accommodating and will let you try the flavors until you find the right one. They also have vegan options, and the times where I have asked the server for a recommendation or to just create something they like I've never been disappointed! Instead I saw employees in street clothes and a dirty apron. From across the ice cream coolers you can see a disheveled workspace that appeared to need the service of a clean rag. The "toy store", if it can be called that, is very limited, unless you need a kite, a Frisbee, some juggling balls, or a unicycle. There were some pluses. The menu is extensive with a lot of combinations and items you don't find elsewhere in Tallahassee-egg cream for example. There are options for diabetics.
