I can't figure out if they are short handed or just disorganized but the service has always been incredibly slow. I understand when it's crowded, things might get a little backed up in the kitchen but we have been there when it's basically empty and the food comes out at the same speed. If we go to eat at this Logan's, we have learned to double the normal restaurant time...if it normally takes an hour, expect to be there at least two. It seems that corporate should take a look at these reviews and send in some management and heavy duty training to observe and correct in order to help this restaurant survive. They may be busy on the weekends but I speak for many when I say most people walk away unhappy. Come on Logan's...Athens wants you here but you've got to work on it a bit (more than a bit). Cold food, horribly long wait times, staff standing around, mediocre taste when your food does finally arrive does not make people want to spend their night out at this restaurant. read more

Wife and I traveling to Florida and had been driving all day. Grabbed a room for the night and decided to try Logan's which was conviently right next door. I had the French dip and the wife had steak and baked potato. Food was okay but my wife's steak was cooked incorrectly. Real complaint was the service. Our waiter was rude and seemed to be in a rotten mood. Just dropped my wife's salad in front if her. He really needs to consider a career change. Horrible service. Have given this restaurant plenty of work lunch opportunities and it's failed each time. Yesterday, it took over an hour to get a cheeseburger and a grilled chicken breast. Inquired about our order with our waiter and he nonchalantly said he would check on it with no apologies, etc. When our food came out it clearly had been sitting waiting to go out for a while. Lunch took way over an hour (like always when eating at this location). Definitely needs training from other locations or corporate. Well, I don't know if this was just a particularly a really bad day, but it was honestly the worst lunch experience I have ever had. Typically, I don't do reviews or send comments, but you are the only steakhouse in Athens Alabama so I am hoping you find this useful. So, we just got back from lunch 7/31/21. Left the restaurant at 2:00. We went in and ordered potato skins appetizers and waited. A lot of time went by, the waitress came by and said she forgot to put the order in. Ok, things happen...no big deal.. then the people sitting next to us sent back their baked potatoes. So when the waitress came by I asked her what was going on, since I had ordered one with my steak, and she told me the potatoes were not cooked and I would need to order something else. Ok, so we were starting to get a little frustrated more because the wait time was really long. Food finally came. Both of our steaks were cold and completely flavorless. However, they were cooked perfectly at medium rare, but just tasted bad. My husband got the surf and turf trio. Again, his steak was cold, the rice was undercooked, the crab cakes were way over cooked and the broccoli was so over steamed they were a pile of mush. I am not over exaggerating at all...it was all that bad. I told the waitress who was still just focusing on the forgotten potato skins. It was nice she genuinely felt bad about it, but I was trying to stress to her that the bigger issue was how long the service took and at how badly the food was cooked. So, we waited for the bill, well, it was wrung up wrong and we had to wait on that. At that point I was standing up and telling her I just wanted to leave and that lunch had been a complete disaster. Probably the worst Logan's on the planet. I have given this place so many chances to get something right. I have only had one great service here. The food and drinks are inconsistent. Some times you might get a hot steak but a majority of the tie you get a room temperature one. They will give you the opposite of what you order, if you want a medium steak you might get a rare or well done steak, don't expect a medium. If you order a baked potato you might get one that is cooked you might not. If you want an adult beverage be prepared for a flavored water. read more

We dined on a Thursday for an evening meal. Lots of wait staff socializing instead of working. A waitress refilled our water glass by touching the pitcher to the rim of the glass, (gross). It took a long time for food that was just ok. There was a hair in the butter. The bathroom was very dirty, toilet paper strung all over, and the paper towel dispenser was broken. We should have known if the restaurant isn't busy at dinner time there must be a reason. My impression of other Logan's has been pretty good, this Logan's does not compare. read more

The only attention I got was when they told me to put a colored straw in my mixed drink after they had already brought it to the table minus a straw. I had used one of the clear straws already on the table. It was the worst food i've ever had at a Logan's. Took an hour to get the food out and it was cold. We had one other lady and the bartender help us THE BARTENDER. I've worked in a restaurant for 3 years, 2 as a waitress and have never seen such shitty team work and lack of communication. They weren't hardly busy but there front desk was too busy goofing off to keep rotating servers so some had a bunch of tables and some had none. Also waited 2 hours for appetizers just for our food to come out right after. You'd think after a 2.5 star review and all these bad comments y'all would do something. I will never visit this restaurant again. To start with it took our meals 45 minutes to get to the table, When the restaurant is half full.The steaks we ordered came out overcooked.The 1st steak was ordered medium rare and it came out medium well.. The 2nd stake that was ordered was to be rare but came out medium.Then my dates baked potato came out wrong It was supposed to be butter only.What she got was butter cheese and bacon.She does not like cheese or bacon.Then my baked potato was to be loaded It came out butter and sour cream only.Then both potatoes had a strong taste of lime.It was as if they took the lime juice and put it on our potatoes.Then the grilled shrimp skewer that came with my meal was ice cold. It was as if it never touched the grill. We talked to the manager on duty and she was like oh well stuff happened.When I come to a steakhouse and pay $25 for my plate and $20 before we add on premium sides I expect decent service.Guess I need to find new steakhouse...I rate this location a 1 out of 5. read more

While in town I decided to stop at Logan's for a steak. I was greeted at the door by smiling facing and sat immediately. My server was very prompt and and knowledgeable. My food came out in under 25 minutes and my steak was very tasty and flavorful. The manager Skyler came over to check on us and he was so friendly and inviting. Two stars because when we sent our food back because the meat was cold, our server put the order back in, watched the cooking and then brought it back steaming hot. One star overall because the place was half empty, we weren't a large party, but we had to wait for our dinners for 1.15 hours and our server was playing hide and hide again (not seek) from us for 20 minutes. I thought the person had passed out somewhere. My salad was lackluster, the lettuce brown, it looked like someone dropped the bowl and haphazardly put the salad back together. I guess as a positive, it was well-tossed. The cook on my entree wasn't what I had ordered but I was afraid to send it back because I wasn't sure I would be getting an entree back! If I have to go back again, I'm getting a cup of soup because at least that takes little time to ladle into a bowl and unless it comes to me frozen, and overseasoned, I'll be fine. So the waiters are pretty nice and for a Logan's, it's very clean. The food, however, needed more flavor and was very greasy. I usually don't eat steak with any sauce at Logan's because it doesn't needs any more flavor, but this one needed sauce. We went to Logan's on Monday, 4/15/19. 1/3rd of the restaurant was empty... but we were told it would be 5 to 10 minutes to get a table. When we were seated we received some of the worst service we have ever had at any Logan's. People who arrived after us were given the usual saucers for their bread, we never received any saucers... although we were there almost 1 and 1/2 hours. We were told they were in the wash. We ordered appetizers, only to find out they were fried in old grease or double fried. Waitress was inattentive at best. When our Well Done steak arrived it was very bloody in the middle... the waitress did'nt have the courtesy to serve it... some other person served the steak and didn't wait for us to cut into it [they usually have the courtesy to allow us to cut into the steak, prior to walking away]. Instead we were told, " when you get around to cutting into the steak when you can and let the server know if it is not right". We have vowed never to go to Logan's in Athens on a Monday... ever. We are typically very good tippers... but only left $5 for the waitress due to the horrible service. read more

Excellent experience. We came in just as they were opening up in the morning. Took a second to get our drinks, but that was because the staff had to have a short meeting, so it was perfectly understandable. Service was excellent all around, waitress was very nice and on the spot with refills. We each ordered a burger and fries. No problem with substitutions in the burger and the proportion of ingredients was spot on. Ordered medium well, and arrived like that. They also made our fries crisp just like we asked. Had a mini-brownie bucket dessert. Small portion, great for the price, was able to add caramel. Brownie was warm, fudgy, and crispy. Excellent service, excellent food. read more

Love Logan's. This one is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's great; amazing service and even better food. Sometimes you get ignored for half an hour at your table with only a few customers inside, or your medium-rare steak comes back cold on the inside and outside without barely a char. Recently stopped by for late lunch(like I had been doing nearly weekly for 3 months) around 4pm, was seated and ignored for 35 minutes after placing a drink order which we never even received. Got up to leave, with not even a "Have a great day" from any of the host staff standing around the front. Called to share my experience and received no kind of apology. The first I was told 15 to 20 min. got there after 20 min. and had to wait another 25 min go home and didn't have salad, called and complained and manager gave me a 10.00 credit. I've been to this Logan's several times before and enjoyed it. The servers were prompt and friendly. The food rather good and well prepared. This time is a bit different so far. The three girls at the hostess stand were a bit unfriendly and curt. I am partially disable and walk with a cane, I realize this can be off-putting to young people in rural areas with little or no social graces. But if one is a hostess, social graces should be encouraged. I usually sit in the bar due to being alone and also to avoid waiting for a table. My waitress, named Susie with a lovely smile and intelligent eyes, appeared promptly, and asked for my drink order. She was quick and knowledgable and didn't engaged me in painful small talk. She returned to inform me they were out of the scotch I ordered and offered acceptable alternatives. She was appropriately attentive and friendly. She is obviously the "ringer" here. The manager, Shane, came to me shortly after ordering and communicated to me that he wasn't happy with the quality of the cut of meat I ordered and suggested an a different cut, bravo. The bone-in ribeye was very good, not Ruth's Chris or Morton's, but it's not advertised as such. I'm in town once a month and stay at the Fairfield Inn. This Logan's is my go-to spot due to convenience, meat, and booze. Three of the most important criteria. read more
