This visit didn't start well. The hostess sat us at a table that had NO waitstaff. Luckily we had peanuts. After 10 minutes of being ignored and watching other later arrivals getting served, I went and searched out some help. Two waiters came over to get us started and finally a waitress showed up to finish us up. She was very pleasant but I don't think she was the missing link either. The peanuts were good and the onion petals were also good. The food was good but plated poorly. Way too much sodium for those that have issues. Lots of room for improvements here. read more

Do yourself a HUGE favor and find some place else to eat. Tonight we won't for my daughter's birthday, she picked the place. After we sat down, the warm rolls showed up and that was the extend of the good. Dinner for five was ordered, kids chicken tenders, two sirloin steaks, two burgers. Kids chicken tenders were over fried and tasted burnt, both steaks were thin and no juice left in them at all. Both burgers were served cold and in cold buns. Fries were cold, sides were almost completely left behind on the plates. There was less than half the food eaten and the remake of one burger took so long it was asked to be removed from the bill as everyone else was done. Wife's comment walking out, "A McDonald's McChicken would have been better than that steak I tried to eat". Last time I'll visit a Logan's. read more

Tonight was horrible. We decided to go out to dinner with our 4 year old and 1 year old. It took 10 minutes before a server even acknowledge us. Then another 15 minutes before we got anything to drink. We ordered and after AN HOUR of sitting our 1 year old was not having it anymore. We didn't get refills and seen our server once that whole time. We just left because I felt bad for the people around us having to listen to our baby fuss. It was just such a bad night and my husband tried to find a manager or anyone to explain what was going on before we left and couldn't find anyone. read more

Placed and order via DoorDash. Spent 19 dollars for a shrimp and rice entree with a mac and cheese side. What I was sent was 7 small shrimp tossed over a half a cup of rice and about two tablespoons of mac and cheese. This is no where near a regular portion size or worth the price they charged. Just spent a week in Grand Rapids on business and was duped into going here by the annoying guy I got stuck traveling with. The beer was cold and every table comes with the awesome and never over used concept of all you can eat peanuts. (Reminded me of the Ground Round back when I was a kid in NY) We were there a little late and got to watch the enormous task of sweeping all of those shells up. Not fun. Maybe that's why the staff seemed cranky. Or maybe they were bothered by the annoying guy I was stuck traveling with. Either way, you come to Logans and I guess you know what to expect. I got a steak that was supposed to come with a bunch of fried onions on it and the onions showed up 5 minutes after the steak. I guess the runner jumped the gun. Oy vey, this restaurant (a chain steakhouse) is why I don't like to go home to the wasteland of western Michigan dining. But alas, once every year I can muster the strength to humor my parents and take them here... actually, the steak isn't that bad, although I'm not sure I need as much help finding the one I like as the picture menu provides. Nor am I interested in any of the steak "topper" sauces the waitress tries to push. But judging by the girth of some of my fellow diners, more than a few other people are willing to slop on 6 oz of sugar and butter over a 12 oz steak. And of course, the big problem with chains is out in full force here -- no local control of the menu. West Michigan has a surprisingly rich selection of microbrews (Bell's, Founders, New Holland, etc), so why not offer some on tap instead of the watered down swill ordered onto the menu by corporate? read more

I do have to agree for te most part with John S. on his review. I unfortunately have to pile on a bit with Logan's. My wife and I have frequented this establishment both to eat in and through their take out. On numerous occasions they have either lost or forgotten our order when we called it in to them. They told us it would only be about 15 min and it turned into 1:15. I would have left but I made the mistake of paying before I got the order in hand. They ended up reenbursing us for the order and the inconvienience, but I still am a little gun shy about going back. This was only the last time that it happened through take out. It had also happened twice before. Why do I go back? I do think that their food is pretty good and if you sit down and eat inside then you get the service you would expect. read more

As far as casual chains go they do a good job. For some reason my wife loves this place, it seems like most women do; which is weird based on the macho Texas flare.... but whatever I guess They have an extensive menu and pricing isn't bad at all A "steak house" it is not, but they do sell a lot of beef for sure They have the whole peanuts at the table and throw the shells on the floor thing goin on, which is fun. Wow!! I was quickly reminded why we never go here. We had a gift card and well, that was the best part about it because I would have been very upset had I paid in full for the meal we had. I understand times are hard with lack of qualified staff but man they couldn't even get a burger and fries out hot. My teenage son wouldn't even finish his burger and he eats everything. The steak was mediocre at best and that's being VERY generous. My salad definitely was left over from the previous day. The green beans must have been from a can and the corn was definitely frozen. We left hungry! The quality of food left little to be desired for. This restaurant has really gone downhill drastically over the years. Management really needs to step in a do an overhaul if they want to stay in business. Looking at other reviews just in the past weeks should say something loud and clear!! Maybe Chef Ramsey could lend y'all some tips as your in dire need of a revamp. Honestly you couldn't give me a free meal here for me to come back - I'll never go back. Geez people. The food is what really matters and the food is very good. I always get the Fillet Mignon with sweet potatoe fries which I love. It gomes with all you can eat rolls that are very good. I do agree the service needs work but overall it is worth it. Stop jumping on it because it is a chain. There are lots of choices in the area so you have choices. read more

I've been here a few times before, and usually loved it. My best friend took me for my birthday in August, and we had a great lunch. My most recent visit, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Friday night, it was totally packed. We met with my Oma, who already had a pager for a table, so we only waited 5 minutes. She said she'd been waiting 10, and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. So, that was good! Our waitress was friendly, and got our drinks out quickly. The rolls were good (as usual), though my soda tasted off (likely because of the Caledonia water). We placed our order, and didn't see our waitress again until she brought by the check. No drink refills, we had to ask twice for extra napkins and enough silverware for everyone. My sister said her asparagus was very fresh and the steak was good. Mom agreed with that, and Oma liked that they swapped out a salad to bring her a sweet potato. All steak was ordered as "medium-rare", none of them arrived that way. Most were rare on one half and nearly well done on the other side. Stepdad had lobster and ribs, though he didn't eat them all and said he'd had much better. My sister loves BBQ ribs, but barely touched the piece he gave her. I got the roadhouse burger, which comes with bacon and sauteed onions. It was... oddly sweet. The bun, shredded cheese, and onions tasted like they'd been sprinkled with sugar before being served. I pulled off the onions, added some salt and pepper, and ended up just nibbling on the bacon. The fries were crisp, at least. I'll give it another shot, but this was a disappointing night. read more

Went there with my wife last night for the first time last night. Don't get to go often due to my son's peanut allergy. I was anticipating the wonderful pork BBQ sliders (called porkies) I had there years ago, alas, they were not on the menu. I ended up with ribs while my wife opted for 6 oz sirloin. Overall, the food was slightly below average. My ribs were charred to the point of being burned and were only luke warm when served. The sirloin (ordered medium rare) was overcooked by a couple minutes.To his credit, the manager offered to make it right, but time constraints and hunger won out over getting the order right, and my wife ate it any way. Two cool things about this meal. First, the selection of sides is extensive, so if you want something other then fries, baked potato or salad, you can do pretty well. My wife got two of the grilled vegetable skewers (loved them) and I complimented my ribs with cinnamon apples and mac and cheese. Second, we discovered a drink called a Mango Citrus Sunrise. Perfect. Not too sweet but very refreshing and aptly mixed. We got the 32 oz and split it. Watch the alcohol content if you are driving. This one is loaded. Overall, I'd give this a "just OK" rating. A steakhouse? Really? A steakhouse should know how to prepare a steak. As I typically do with steak joints that aren't "high end," (think $40+ per steak), I ordered my steak rare. These run-of-the-mill chains always overcook the steaks, so it made sense to order below my typical medium-rare. But instead of rare, I got uncooked. How uncooked? Try straight from the refrigerator! The steak was literally cold to the touch! Note to chain restaurant line cooks: rare still requires you to actually put the meat on the grill. Heck, at least try and fake it with a room temperature steak. But cold? For shame! read more

I have been going to Logan's Roadhouse for over 10 years. It USED TO BE a reliable dining experience; not any more! Filet Mignon: Ordered medium-rare. Received RARE and it was barely warm!! My guest ordered grilled cheese: NOTHING about it was grilled! Just pure white warm bread...and she said the cheese tasted horrible!!ll Apparently REAL butter does NOT exist at Logan's!! I requested it for my baked potato and grilled mushroom skewer....nope! And my grilled mushroom skewer was dry and tasteless!! The servers ran around frantically, yet the place was half empty, and there were a lot of servers! I should have left when I saw the lack of customers on a weekend dinner hour (6:30pm). Solid food... Not spectacular but good... Baked potatoes were light and fluffy (but so are Wendy's... Not that big of an accomplishment).... Prime rib is good... BBQ ribs were flavorful but a little crunchy/charred... Mesquite Salmon has been good but not great on both visits... Too many of the choices are "southwest seasoning" ie spicy... A couple more options with a marinade that has flavor without heat would be nice for those who can't do spice or steak. The all you can eat peanuts and rolls ensures you can't go away hungry... The atmosphere is nice and friendly... Service has been good the two times we've been there... If you want to pay $20+ for a prime steak there are better places to do it in my opinion... But for a casual dinner that isn't super expensive this is a nice place. Agree the parking lot is too small... read more

Went for a Christmas gathering with church group. Called ahead to do what I thought was reserve seating. Guess there's a difference between a call-ahead, and reservation, and our tables weren't ready. (lesson learned) Anyway, the problem was solved. Ben, the manager was VERY accommodating, as the restaurant was quite busy for a weeknight. They made room for us to sit together, and we received excellent service from both him, and our waitress Brittney. The wait for our food was not terribly long, and they actually kept a smile on their faces the entire time, even though there were a lot of things happening in the restaurant at the time. Kudos for good customer service while juggling multiple things! We'll be back. read more

We walked in and weren't greeted for the first 3-4 minutes, and they were standing right in front of us. We got seated, my husband and I and our 2 small children. They didn't offer us a booster seat, and our waiter took at least 5 minutes to come and get our drink order. We got stale chips when we ordered the chips and queso. Our waiter came only 2 times our entire meal, and when i didn't even touch my burger because of how burnt it was and the cheese was gritty, he comped us half price off of my order. We go to Logan's often. This time was awful, we started out with a side salad and the cucumbers were clearly frozen (they tasted awful). Our meals came out and my potatoes were cold and the Broccoli my boyfriend got was cold. He asked for a medium steak and it was rare, they put it back on and it sat for at least 10 minutes on the grill. I also asked for ranch twice and was never brought any. When speaking with the manager he made the excuse of that the cooler where the veggies are in is "too cold" and was broken.Then don't serve customers frozen veggies that have clearly gone bad. He brought us new sides however my potatoes were clearly re heated and nasty. My boyfriends steak came back and was rubbery and burnt to a crisp. The waitress was Down right rude to us after complaining and it upset us. We received our bill and nothing was taken off (you'd think something would've been since the only thing my boyfriend ate was a side salad). We've been here so many times, it's been our go to place around here. This time ruined it for us. read more

Staff is friendly and the food is quick and delicious! I haven't had anything I didn't like in the 5+ times I've been there this month (work travel means lots of take-out!). Their grilled chicken is consistently delicious, perfectly toasty on the outside and juicy on the inside. Most of the grilled chicken dishes are served with a butter sauce, which I order without because of the dairy. I didn't realize the first time I ordered a salad with grilled chicken on it, tasted yummy but not necessary. I have not had any issues being Gluten free here as they have a very robust menu, and their chicken is a great staple! read more

Usually good to great service here. Went in last night. They weren't busy, as evidenced by more that 1/2 of the tables and booths were not occupied. Hostess made it seem like she was doing us a favor to seat us in one of many empty booths. Waited 15 minutes and never had anyone come to take beverage order or anything. Tried to get a few servers attention and finally got one to bring us water and then she disappeared. The manager was busy chatting up a customer (not unexpected). Lots of servers around but no one could wait on us. Other tables were being seated and got immediate attention but we just kept getting ignored. Finally left and told the hostess about the issue and she was very flippant. Extremely disappointing and out of the ordinary for this place. Not sure what has changed. read more

Our food and service was good but it was disturbing to hear the server telling an elderly couple in their Sunday's best, seated nearby that they cannot accept their expired dinner coupon after they were done eating. He went and got the manager but the manager spoke so loudly, embarrassing the patrons that they cannot accept this expired coupon and wouldn't give them a 'Good-Faith' discount. Went for dinner with my son. Both of us ordered steak dinners. Mine medium rare and his medium. After approx 40 minutes of a slow and empty restaurant, our food arrives. Waitress asks us to cut in to check it. Mine is rare. His is almost rare. We decide to try it as we don't want to wait longer. My "Logan" signature sirloin was the toughest steak I have ever eaten. Could even stick my fork into it. Waitress stops back by and we let her know the situation. My son asks his to get cooked for a bit more while I ask to get a burger instead as I didn't want to wait for an entirely new steak. Burger was fine but then the bill comes and she has charged me for the steak anyways. Manager comes over and then takes it off the bill. Why would that have to be asked of anyway. Food was bad and resent back to kitchen. Table next to us had their steak sent back as it was way underdone. Bad kitchen staff and horrible food. Not what Logan's has provided us in past at other locations. Avoid!! read more
