We were a party of three who went here on a Tuesday afternoon. Our server, a young man with dark hair was professional and engaging. We liked him a lot. He gets five stars. The restaurant seems to pride itself on being dog friendly, yet my friend's dog was never offered water or the treat they say they offer. The food is a two star at best. The fries were not crispy, and they were lukewarm as were the onion rings. I did eat them only because I was very hungry and the cheese burger was not good. It was unseasoned, overcooked, bun was stale, and the grilled onions included the outer tough onion layer. Normally I would say something, but if they couldn't even serve a burger on a fresh bun, what would have been the point? My husband who isn't picky and will eat most anything wouldn't eat it. As I don't like to waste food, I took it home and fed it to the chickens. Also, make sure there is toilet paper before using the ladies room. I had to use a paper towel. When I let a worker know, she barely acknowledged me and never said a word, much less an apology. As a visitor to Chester with family there, I will not be agreeable to frequenting this restaurant in the future. Response to owner comments: Your postings next to the outside tables state that water and treats are available for patron's dogs. You should train your servers to offer those when they see a guest has a dog. How was your non English speaking employee able to understand and relay my concern about the toilet paper if she doesn't speak English? Why would I reorder a burger that I know is unseasoned, on a stale bun, etc. knowing I would receive another that is just the same? A line cook can't be retrained in a few minutes. I got what you gave me, it wasn't good. Now is your chance to improve your food for future guests. Quit making excuses, (nothing irritates me more), and make improvements. read more

Arrived on a Sunday morning and the service was pretty slow. Waited a bit before the hostess could greet us, took awhile to order, receive food and get the check. Didn't stop by once to refill water. It was also summer/busy season. Food was delicious and huge portions though so made up for it and we weren't in a huge rush: - Sunrisle Skillet - so delicious and huge portions. My brother told me about this place for breakfast, so my Mom and I had to try it out. My mother ordered breakfast (eggs, hash browns, ham, english muffin). The slice of ham was so huge she couldn't finish it and took it home in a napkin. Unfortunately, she forgot all about it and found it in her purse days later!! She enjoyed the breakfast. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a soda. I was happy we could order lunch at breakfast time. The helpings were large and I was more than full. The refills of the soda were quick, which is always appreaciated. We will definitely be back to this place the next time we are up in that neck of the woods. read more

We had an opportunity to enjoy another great meal at this restaurant called Lola's. Service was excellent. Food has proven to be consistently superior in quality and quantity from one visit to another. It was a beautiful day to sit outside while enjoying our meal. The meat goes to edges of the rye bread. Chicken fried steak hands down WORST I've ever had. Just a pre frozen flavorless Costco patty thrown into the deep fryer. The bacon was terrible (hoe do you ruin bacon?) it wasn't soft, it wasn't crisp, it was hard like jerky. We just ate there today (8/31/25) it wasn't very busy, test service and coffee refills were slow. We should have gone back to Carols. Will not return. read more

I rarely review restaurants because I'm ex-service industry and truly hate to complain. But, my eggs benedict was swimming in about 2 cups of broken hollandaise sauce. Have you ever seen broken hollandaise sauce? It looks like curdled milk, or vomit. I scraped most of it off, and was disappointed to discover that my poached eggs were closer to hardboiled. The kitchen should have taken one look at the dish and realized they shouldn't serve it. It takes 2 minutes to make a new batch of hollandaise. Adding to my dismay was the fact that they have Wi-Fi but refuse to share the password with patrons. In a town like Chester, where literally everyone is looking for Wi-Fi while they dine somewhere, this seems mean-spirited. My server told me it was because the people who owned it "didn't want to" share it with us. At least come up with a better story. read more

The traditional American breakfast is one of the simplest meals to prepare. So as long as good ingredients are utilized and the line cook knows which end of the spatula to grab, it is pretty hard to screw up breakfast food. If the ingredients are substandard, even the best line cook cannot make it better. The cook(s) seem to be pretty good. The ingredients, not so much. Especially using "Fake" hash browns. Think dehydrated shredded potatoes, badly rehydrated, that do not, and cannot, taste real. The ham and bacon may have been freshly cooked, but it was hard to tell, pretty much dry and chewy. Then leave the finished plates under the warming lights for over 5 minutes, because wait staff is MIA. So, finally, when you get your lukewarm breakfast served, the deficiencies are the highlights. The waitstaff was pretty much "on break" for our entire visit. There were a couple of other tables with customers, so not at all busy. We finally had to go to the counter to get our check and pay. The poor line cook had to track down someone to take the payment. Hopefully the owner/management will realize quickly that there is more to running a coffee shop then buying low cost supplies, hiring staff and putting out the "Open" sign. read more
