Awesome salads and sandwiches. They make it right! Ordered some chips and manager asked was everything okay? Told him the chips were a bit stale, he said that's what he thought too after having tried one in the kitchen. Gave us two new sides and refunded our money for chips. Ok so great sandwiches however, when I called and was told there's no bacon as in they're out. And then was asked what I'd like to substitute and I said how about avocado or prosciutto and I'm told ok. But then my sandwich doesn't have either substitute but I'm still paying full price I'm kind of disappointed. Like when you are a little kid and your parents say ok we are going to the beach tomorrow. But then it rains and you are upset, even though you sort of understand it's not as much fun in the rain. Being my first experience with Lola's I was disappointed. I didn't ask for anything unreasonable. If they'd subbed my request I'd have given 4 stars. So I tried them again today I ordered a Rueben and tried again for success with the TABC. Honestly, I tried my husbands Rueben and the meat was too salty for my taste as his. The sandwich was mostly sauerkraut, not too much corned beef. So if I'd have known that I'd have ordered extra meat and paid a bit more. But he joked that it'd probably end up being more sauerkraut. My sandwich ended up being a swipe of avocado spread not actual avocado that I could tell by any measure, and they had bacon which added a touch to the sandwich but I had so much turkey it detracted from the overall sandwich. A tiny swipe of chipotle mayo, yet my bread was dry, yes it comes toasted, but I'd appreciate more mayo so I can actually taste the chipotle next time. Idk that I'd give them another shot. Maybe they do salads well, but given the sandwiches we've ordered so far I'm not sure I'd spend another dime there. read more

Stay away from the Chicago Beef. Inedible. Instead of putting the au jus in cup, they pour it over the sandwich, which sits in the gravy. The bread completely falls apart into a doughy mess. I had to throw the sandwich away and get a taco from next door. Silly. read more

Yeah, this place is doing it right. It's a bit of a haul from 'midtown,' but totally worth the trip. In fact, I should probably thank them for being so far away. Great bread...had the Reuben, and it was one of the best I've ever had. I really wanted to try the Cuban or the Chicago Beef, but there's no way I can pass up home made corn beef. And it's great. Well worth the wait, long wait, but to be fair we were hungry, we both had the TABC, sliced turkey with a great tasty mix of flavors and the sub bread was the bomb, soft, with a tasty outside texture, and the lemon dill potato salad had lots of dill with a hint of lemon, the potatoes were cooked just right. Hubby was happy they had good root beer. Nice outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. On the way home stopping here again, we don't usually hit the same place twice. read more

I recently moved to Tyler and wanted to find local restaurants to visit. My husband and I found Lola's on yelp and thought we would try it. We went on a Saturday afternoon and their little shop was very busy. They had a great couple playing live music. Their sandwiches are large and delicious. And don't forget to order the homemade chips! We got the balsamic version and they were great, I may have licked the plate. Love this place! Every time my parents come into town they ask that we at least go here and eat! This is a small sandwich shop. They are always busy, which is awesome! I love seeing local businesses stay busy! The food is ALWAYS consistent. The food is ALWAYS fresh! The soup is great. The salads are great! Everything here is just great!! The Rueben and Cuban are my favorite. I moved here from Atlanta and there was a Cuban sandwich place that I love and miss. Lola's lived up to all the hype. I went yesterday with my husband- we had the TABC and homemade potato chips. It's precisely the kind of restaurant that Tyler needs- unpretentious, local ingredients and the food is more than good enough to speak for itself. The new location of Lola's seems to be under new ownership with some things the same or similar. The quality of the bread and meat and cheese was a little better at the old location in Gresham. However the new location has a much larger menu probably about double in size. If you are looking for unique flavorful sandwiches this is a good spot. I have been twice to the new location now and went probably 5x to the Gresham location before it closed. The biggest difference is the quality of meat. All the sandwiches I had or tried; the meat was just too salty. Not a lot but enough that it detracted from the overall sandwich. The Cuban was very good and probably my favorite; I love a pressed sandwich with mustard and pickles. However the meat was just a little too salty. The blue bird was also a very good flavor combination but the chicken breast was a little too salty once again. But I liked them both. My husband had the Italian beef and it was too spicy and way too salty and I didn't like it all. He also got a turkey and avocado and it was ok. I didn't eat enough of it to be able to tell if it was too salty. The potato salad was simple fresh and good. The chicken chili was very good. The kicked up chips with ranch dressing was great! This could easily move up to a four or maybe even a five star rating with some tweaking here and there because it is such a unique sandwich place. It is in a much better location with a lot bigger space and I hope they find much success there! read more

I love their sandwiches, honestly probably some of the best sandwiches. I was not impressed by the service though. It was about 1 hour before close, I called ahead to place my order so they knew I was coming. Their doorbell seemed to be out of order and they have no way of knowing if someone is waiting to be served unless they have staff at the register. I didn't want to be that person who yells to the back to get service because they couldn't see me. So it was about 20 min until someone came back to the front to serve me. It's honestly probably just a simple fix of a doorbell that works so they know when someone comes in or a bell at the register to ring if they aren't going to have someone constantly present in the front. My absolute favorite place. Good sandwiches, good people, always crowded always good. Sometimes the wait is longer than others but it's well worth it. It's a small place and sometimes they run out of things. Oh well, everything on the menu is good so it's never an issue. Hands down, Lola's is one of my favorite sandwich spots in Tyler! Small, friendly, and fun atmosphere with a few patio tables in front to sit outside on nice days. My favorite sandwich at Lola's is the Cuban Sandwich, so delicious! The only comment that I would suggest for improvement is to make the sandwiches a little less heavy in the richness, it can be a little much on the stomach, especially for a quick, easy lunch.
