I discovered there is a Lola's here in Healdsburg. It's located at the south end of Healdsburg. Like all Lola's, this one has a taqueria. The menus are on television screens overhead. I ordered a super burrito carne asada to go. It was a bit difficult as the guy at the taqueria didn't speak English. Another employee came over and was bi-lingual. I told him I wanted a super burrito carne asada, no lettuce. He said they only have al pastor and pollo right now. So I said I'll take the al pastor. He translated my order to the 1st guy. It took 15 minutes for him to make the burrito. There were no other customers at the taqueria. He grilled the al pastor on the flattop and then proceeded to assemble my super burrito. The woman cashier spoke perfect English so checkout was good. I took it home to eat. It was delicious and the flavors of the al pastor stood out. I recommend this Lola's taquiera as long as you're not in a hurry. This ain't fast food. Also, maybe brush up on your Spanish as it would help in ordering food. I bought a 3-leches cake this morning in Lolas 2 in Santa Rosa, CA. It's the most nasty cake I ever taste. it's not a 3 leches at al, it's very dry and the bread is like a brick! I will never recommend thus store if you want a good cake never get it on Lola's. even FoodMax has better cakes. read more

Customer service is terrible. The lady in the kitchen that takes hit food orders is the rudest! I just spent $400 in their meat department, I asked if I could order lunch for my staff and she said NO! You need to order 2 days in advance. I said ok but if we all come in and order individually you will make our food? She said well yeah.... Doesn't make sense to me. The last time I was here I was ordering a burrito for lunch and she told me... well I have to leave now I'm supposed to be off.... Ummmm... okay go talk to your manager and get someone else to come take your place. I just wanted a burrito and it was only lunch time... like what??? Lola's is a small chain of several markets here in Sonoma county. This store is the smallest and least appealing of them. The premier location is on Petaluma hill road in Santa Rosa. When the tacos are being made in the tent at the front entrance you are going to enjoy them for just $1.50 each. Not fancy, but authentic working man grub. read more

The best most authentic Mexican food! The torta is huge! Actually, everything on menu comes portioned so big, that you can save half the meal for later ( you could share, but it's just too yummy to not eat the rest later). Every Lola's market is consistent in customer service, presentation of store, food orders, and basically everything else. You really can't go wrong in anything at this place. When my mom brought me here for the first time, i was so excited! Forgive me if i'm wrong, but I feel like this is the most authentic Mexican market we have in Healdsburg! Although at first sight, this place is a bit janky, all the food here is well presented and clean. Near the back wall you'll find plenty of fresh produce including lots of Mexican herbs and spices not usually sold at your usual supermarket. Alongside the produce is their butcher/deli, where HANDS DOWN the sell the best guacamole in the world. Guaranteed. haha Every time I come to Healdsburg, whether its with friends or just to visit my family I make sure i drop by here and buy some chips and guacamole. It is seriously heavenly! Additionally, the staff here has always been super friendly and super helpful. One time i came here to buy said guacamole and couldn't find it. Although the only lady working there didn't speak english, she was more than helpful and once she figured out what I wanted, she chuckled, disappeared into the back, and moments later came back with a bowl of the best guacamole ever! Lola's is a Mexican deli, a butcher shop, a vegetable market and a "market" - in that order I would say. Lola's has an amazing deli! On Saturdays, tacos are cooked in the front, Want a burrito? - just go inside the market. The old woman who makes the carnitas got me hooked by giving me a sample and a sly smile - now I'm addicted. She makes the burritos - and sometimes the line is very long - but she has the pace of a tractor in low gear - constant movement and you are certain to have your food eventually. It is worth the wait. The bakery is very good too... they have a lemon pound cake they make by the loaf. You can buy the whole loaf or just a thick slice. Sofie and I always get a few slices for breakfast the next day. What is good about Lola's besides the food is location. It is the first market off 101 Central Healdsburg exit. Just to the right. If you are going to have a big day in the wine country, what better foundation for all that drinking than food from the deli? The grocery store is small - but I always stock up on garlic, limes, and onions because it's cheaper than Safeway. Another hidden gem, right at the gateway to the Russian River Wine Country! They have a nice large parking lot (at least for Healdsburg) and it's location is easy on and easy off of Highway 101. Since they are not located near the square, the locals will testify that this is a welcome pleasure and an added plus! Lola's has great prices on produce, produce and more produce. Watch for the weekly circular and you'll get some great deals! My favorites our the Roma tomatoes and the limes. They are as fresh as it gets! Lola's also has a meat market, bakery and other grocery staples. In the warm months, they offer fresh BBQ Chicken from the grill. We stayed nearby, and my husband and I came here pretty much everyday for something or the other--yes, it really is an all purpose kinda place--market and restaurant and takeout all in one. Though due to COVID, of course, it's not a eat in place, but only carry-out. They have a huge assortment of stuff that you likely will not find anywhere else (unless it's another Mexican market), all sorts of imported foodstuffs, plus prepared dishes that you'd expect to get, e.g. burritos and quesadillas, etc. You order off the board and wait your turn till the food comes out. The owners are friendly and helpful--you can go in at all hours and get your fix of tamarindo, lol :-) And they're just hard working immigrants who deserve all the business they can get, which is why when we wanted our fix of Mexican coca-cola, which we splurge on while on vacation, we went here, 9instead of the conglomorate chain grocery store, which also carries it. read more
