Chicken mole and tortilla
Tiffany H.

After returning from Angels island, wanted to eat at a place nearby, this place popped up and had good reviews so we decided to try it. Started with chips and salsa. I got the Lola's mole with fresh made corn tortillas. My friend got the carnitas burrito. They were both decent sized portions and had great flavor. Loved the fresh made corn tortillas and salsa as well. The only downside is that a lot of the outside tables were rocky or uneven and a lot of the chairs were dirty but the inside is clean and so were the bathrooms

The man who took our order was so incredibly and blatantly rude, I couldn't believe that right off the bat he treated me so poorly. Rolled his eyes multiple times while we decided what to order. I'm not sure if he had it out for me for some reason or if this is normal, but on top of that my cheese enchiladas were 3 uncooked tortillas with cold cheese in the middle rolled up and sauce poured over. I don't believe any of it was cooked, it was like if a 10 year old made enchiladas without being able to use the oven. Other people's food looked good, so maybe it's just the menu item or a vendetta but the service was unbelievably bad.

Tiny little place but tasty food. We had a quick stop here. Many vegetarian and vegan options are available here. Service was quick.

My new favorite burrito spot! For a very specific burrito - their veggie burrito. It's very basic and simple: it has just white rice, black beans, and cheese, but I personally find it very tasty. It comes in two sizes; I get the small for $6. It's just the right portion for someone like me who doesn't have a big appetite. I also have had their mango agua fresca - pretty good. The outdoor patio is very cute. The taqueria is the cleanest and the service the friendliest when the young man is working there. One time I had an older woman help me, who was so evidently impatient with me when I went back and forth on my order decision. It almost made me not want to come back. I decided to give it another go, and that's when I encountered the nicer worker. Looking at my food pictures from here, I'm ready to make a return visit!

Excited to eat!

Vegan enchiladas were simple but really delicious!!! My friend enjoyed his tamales very much. Just wish they gave free chips to go with it. Would return!!

The energy in the restaurant is lively and loud. There were people watching the game at the bar and many parties chatting it up around you. It's a great atmosphere and perfect for a night out. Started off with chips and salsa. The chips were on the thicker side, which I think made the chips crispier if you're into that. It came with two salsas (salsa verde and red salsa). The salsa verde had a fresh, bright flavor with a nice tang. Ironically, the red salsa was a lot milder. It had a slightly sweet, bold flavor but still tasted a bit watery. I ordered the fish tacos, but found they were a miss for me. The accompanying sauces didn't add much to the flavor profile. The toppings and sauce were watery, leaving the overall taste bland. On the other hand, the lamb birria was a hit, but I think I would have preferred a traditional beef birria instead. Had a strong gamey flavor I couldn't ignore. The food did not live up to their presentation. I did enjoy the atmosphere and service, but the food fell flat for me. If I could describe this experience, it would be disappointing.

Outside seating was relaxing and the views complimented the evening. Nice to see staff members with smiles on their faces, don't always see that at a restaurant! Fharid was the server, ever attentive, but just enough! What's important...the food! Romaine Caesar Salad - just enough of the flavorful dressing to compliment the salad. Roasted Half Chicken - tender and absolutely delicious. Portions were very filling. A wonderful homemade peach mint chutney enhanced the flavor option if you so wished. I love chutney, wished I could buy a bottle to take home! Dark Chocolate Cake - words can't describe how good it was! Dark chocolate cake, sour cherries, fresh whipped cream - a piece of chocolate art. Hated to destroy the dessert, but I did! It was decided I should meet the baker. She came out and I thanked her again for the beautiful and flavorful surprise. The Bungalow Kitchen: Great evening, wonderful food, atmosphere is superb, lucky to live nearby.

So we wait, and after about 35 min, my dad goes to ask and the hostess says it'll be another 15. We keep an eye on the line and I see a party of 4 walk up talk to the hostess and then they get seated inside. The hostess never told us that indoor seating was an option. My mom, goes over to talk to them and they get us a table inside except we wait another 5 min before a server comes to us. We also had to ask someone if they knew who our server was because no one was around. The sever came over and told us that no one had informed her that she was assigned to this table and that was why we had to wait..... If this sounds like a quality restaurant to attend you're HIGHLY mistaken. If I could give this service 0 stars it would achieve such. Absolutely pitiful. "West coast service" still has yet to touch the southern hospitality we live in.
