Two of us ate here. My friend ordered a fish dish, which he really liked. I ordered sopes, two al pastor and one chicken. I was served two chicken and one al pastor, which turned out to be a good thing, as I would rate the al pastor a zero. It was GROUND pork. I could not detect any spices, onion or pineapple. It was flavorless. The chicken was plain shredded, which was ok. The only good thing was the corn 'cup' which was very good, done just right. After a hike, this was a great place to stop for food while waiting for traffic to die down. My friends and I came on a saturday afternoon a few weeks ago and there were two tables open. It's a cozy spot tucked behind the main shopping area in Tiburon. We ordered tacos, tamales and enchiladas. it is vegetarian friendly! Stopped in for a quick lunch on a Sunday. The service was quick and friendly. I got the rolled chicken tacos while my friend got a carne asada burrito. The tacos were delicious and paired so well with the salsa on the tables. The rice and beans on the side were really good too. My friend also really liked her burrito. Our new favorite after trying many taqueria's throughout the Bay Area. Perplexed at the harsh reviews. It is a small footprint so perhaps if visiting on busy weekends the service is strained. We often go for late lunch during the week and many times are the only ones sitting outside the restaurant on a pleasant, quiet, tree-lined street. I find the food incredibly authentic, fresh and tasteful with appropriate balance ... similar to traditional home cooked meal at Grandma's. Mole some of the best I have tried anywhere. I am not visiting the establishment to converse with busy employees or make new friends so not too concerned if the owner or staff is not engaging or pumping my ego. If you are looking for an Americanized version with mounds of sour cream, guacamole, free/unlimited chips and generally poor quality ingredients...you should skip this place! read more

My new favorite burrito spot! For a very specific burrito - their veggie burrito. It's very basic and simple: it has just white rice, black beans, and cheese, but I personally find it very tasty. It comes in two sizes; I get the small for $6. It's just the right portion for someone like me who doesn't have a big appetite. I also have had their mango agua fresca - pretty good. The outdoor patio is very cute. The taqueria is the cleanest and the service the friendliest when the young man is working there. One time I had an older woman help me, who was so evidently impatient with me when I went back and forth on my order decision. It almost made me not want to come back. Lola's Taqueria gets one star because while the food can be good, that only happens if your order is perfect the first time--and good luck with that. The menu is confusing, missing prices, and sets you up to fail (their "special quesadilla" is literally just tortilla and cheese). If anything comes out wrong, don't expect help; the staff will blame you for not ordering what you "meant," rather than making it right. Many of the other specials are bland, forgettable, and completely devoid of character, and the food overall feels slapped together with no passion or care. This place is SO GOOD. Great quality food and affordable. Stopped by here 4th of July morning to try their pupusas and breakfast burrito. They really knocked it outta the park with both dishes. The salsa they provide is also soooo damn good - I ended up buying two bottle to take home with me lol. Food selection in this area, particularly for something on the more affordable end, is limited. Found a little gem in Tiburon! Lola's has the best breakfast burritos! I got 7 of them to feed my workers on a Saturday- EVERYONE was telling me it's the best burrito they ever had!!! So I then had to get one for myself to see what the buzz was about- and yes I can confirm- best one I've had to date as well! Nothing special for the cost. -vegetarian burrito- beans and rice only for $10. Very expensive. -vegetarian/vegan dishes- if you are okay with a plain entree where they slap on shredded lettuce, beans, and white rice on the side for +$17 plate, this place is for you. -salsa and chips- $2 for two of their house salsas and a basket of chips. I didn't know what to expect being it's location in Tiburon Belvidere, but I have to tell you it was really good especially their homemade salsas. Love Lola's!! Great food & service. Owner is there and welcomes you into her restaurant. Love the outside tables under the umbrellas. The cheerful music and family working in the kitchen make for a personalized experience. You are welcomed into a small home kitchen as if we were in Mexico. Came for dinner and had Chicken Mole and also the Fish with Vegetables. Breakfast was chilequiles and also eggs. Tortillas are hand made. Parking is better during the week than the weekend. There is a parking lot nearby but I believe you pay to park. read more

Loloa's is a gem in Tiburon! First of all, the restaurant servers, owner and cooks are super friendly and very accommodating! It's casual, friendly, and delicious! You order at the counter, and it does take a little while to get your food, but it's because it is always cooked to order and fresh! It's a tiny restaurant with a tiny kitchen, but the flavor and quality is LARGE! The best Fish Gudalaraja, wonderful Shrimp Bowls, the burritos and albondigas soup are also a must try! No greeting, no smile--just a cold stare and attitude that screamed, "Why are you here?" The energy was so off-putting that we didn't even stay. We left and found another spot where the staff was kind, helpful, and happy to have us. I got the chicken burrito bowl which had ultra shredded chicken lettuce rice and some other stuff that was minimal and tasteless. I also got the guacamole dip and chips. The guacamole had probably sour cream mixed in which took away from the avocado taste and maybe chopped raw onion which really ruined the flavor. read more

The meat was very bland, un-spicy, very flavorless just like your mom's roast beef. The cheese sauce obviously came out of a can. The chips were not high-quality. Outdoor patio available too if you're lucky enough to snag a table. Started with the chips and salsa. Chips were thick and a tad over cooked but the salsa made up for it. The green salsa is unlike anything I've had (creamy?? tangy? little zing?) and was my favorite part of the meal - debating buying a bottle of it. Carnitas Burrito for me. I'd worked up a big appetite and still couldn't finish the burrito - solid size for the prize. Surprised me, was one of the better burritos I've had recently, also smothered mine in the green salsa. Girlfriend got the Pupusas and the few bites I had were delicious - not something I've ever had before but would definitely eat again. Cute little taqueria at the end of Main St, away from the touristy area with friendly staff. The food was pretty good, more like home cooking, and the owners very nice. My sopa was on par with what I've had at friend's house with parents who I consider good cooks. Our son loved his mole, but hubby felt his meal was just okay. I'd give this place an overall 3.5 stars for the atmosphere, service and food. I'd say more of a down to earth comfort food type place like walking into grandma's kitchen. read more
