What a warm and welcoming place! Excellent service and great ambiance and food. We really enjoyed our micheladas.

The staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating. Foods are so good. The best salsa verde ive ever had. The place is so beachyyy. Only thing is tables are too close to each other, just hard to move around but we still had a great time.

With patio and outdoor seating, this taqueria is a short bike ride or walk from the ferry. The service was excellent, friendly waitstaff bilingual in Spanish and English. We got the three taco special and the shrimp quesadilla. Both of us loved the quesadilla and my friend preferred the carne asada tacos whereas I like the Baja tacos best. They bring out a little sauce platter with crema too which is nice. Without the salsa the tacos were not heavily seasoned but the salsa was good and spicy. Between the two of us it was about $25/person plus tip, so this is definitely more of a sit down and have a pleasant meal kind of taco shop with a Sausalito vibe. They had a chile relleno special with crab meat but it was $38 so I held back. I would come back and try more seafood items.

A solid 3 star spot based on the food alone. We ordered 4 tacos, one was great, one was good, and two were pretty meh. I liked that they had the option to order tacos as a duo, trio, or as a plate, though the pricing didn't change as you got more or ordered a combo. There also weren't free chips, which is always a bummer, because what is dining at a Mexican restaurant without the chips? We ordered a taco duo and the perfect plate with the intention of having two tacos each and sharing the rice and beans. When the food came they also dropped off two salsas and some crema - unsure if this comes with all taco orders or just the plate. Great taco was the Taco De Pescado, this one was full of flavor and had plenty of crispy fish. Good taco was the Taco De Carne Asada, this one was loaded with beef and had a touch of spice, on its own it needed a little something more, but a spoonful of salsa and crema did just the touch to elevate this one. Meh tacos were both of the shrimp tacos, neither was really showing much flavor. The grilled shrimp taco got most of its flavor from the grill marks on the onion, but as soon as the flavor of the grill evaporated, which was very quick, the flavor was gone. Veggies for sure could've used some salt. The salsa and crema helped this one out a little bit, but it wasn't a $7 taco. Service was good and food came out quick. There was limited outdoor seating as well as "indoor seating" that still felt outside due to the wide open windows. We opted for the inside as it still felt outdoors, but gave you shade and more space. The vibe here was colorful and vibrant, with liveliness from the street and music. Wouldn't come out of my way to come back here, but if I did come back I'd order the Taco De Pescado and then try something non-taco related.

Decided to visit beautiful Sausalito after our hike and stumbled upon this popping gem. Not too sure why the ratings on Yelp aren't as high, so I'm glad I found this spot the old fashioned way because this was a great experience! The staff and vibes were just fun and vibrant. And as for the food, the snapper fajitas and skinny shrimp tacos was tasty! I wouldn't say it's the best Mexican food or authentic but it's still good. The drinks along with chips and salsa/ guac were so good on a warm day (the red salsa was bomb!) Also they're dog friendly!

    Check bill

Fish taco was ok, Shrimp taco unflavored and steak taco super greasy , totally no recommend. Habanero salsa ok but $3 per very tiny portion. It place charge every separate and charge a non cash adjustment fee on top. Plus tips I didn't like it. The service wasn't good. The outside view was nice.

Meh .... average and waaaay overpriced. Total super overpriced tourist trap. The location of the restaurant and the service was good. I swear the black beans were straight from can to plate.

Our of all the food in the area I think this was by far the best stop!!! I chose their special of the day which was (chile relleno with crab and shrimp) annnnnnd although in my pic it looks messy, this plate was soooo delicious! Service was great. All the employees were very attentive to us. The seating was fast when we arrived and right away were given a glass of water, a menu and brought chips and salsa. I loved this place. Will definitely be back when visiting Sausalito again!

We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

When we asked about outdoor seating, the host/manager was extremely rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, we were told that our reserved table had already been given away to another family because they arrived on time. If that was the policy, it should have been communicated clearly when the reservation was made. The manager then went on to tell us that they normally don't even accept reservations for groups this large and that we were an exception, which only made the interaction feel more unprofessional. I've been a loyal customer of this Bay Area establishment for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. The lack of courtesy, communication, and customer service was unacceptable. As a Black family, the way we were treated left us questioning whether we were being treated fairly. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'll be reconsidering whether I return.

That said, the building still has so much potential and I'm excited to see who eventually brings new life to the space. In the meantime, something really special is happening upstairs. I've attended a few of their ticketed events and they were amazing, and I've also been lucky enough to attend some private parties there as well. The last time I was there, the owner was doing an interview series and shared parts of her story. Got there around 3pm and was told that a table for two would be about a 30 minute wait, so it was not as bad as we thought it would be, considering that the whole parking lot (which was probably the only downside; it being made of gravel and without distinct parking designations making finding a spot incredible difficult and annoying) was full. The inside vibe was great, with tons of people drinking/eating and having a good time. When we got seated, we ended up ordering just a few oysters and a 3pc fish and chips. The oysters were pretty good and fresh, with a great vinaigrette on the side to pair with them. The fish and chips, however, were the obvious stars of the show. The fish were nice and golden, with a very crisp texture, and more importantly large and generous. The fries were nicely seasoned and plentiful. The fish was really tasty (you can choose the type of fish depending on what they have on hand, and some cost extra between $2-$10. We chose the standard option for the day: Rockfish), easily one of the better fish and chips I have had - just an incredibly simple, but well executed dish. While the tartar sauce was a good pairing, the real standout pairing was Hook Fish's own carrot habanero hot sauce with the tartar sauce and the oyster vinaigrette. I have never had something like a carrot based hot sauce, but it really works by contrasting the spiciness of the habanero with a slightly sweet carrot undertone. Strange, but it gave the classic fish and chips a unique twist that sets it apart from the competition. While eating we saw tons of different dishes fly out the kitchen as well, such as poke burritos, large portions of chips and salsa/guacamole, and fish tacos. After the experience we had that day, we will be forsure making another round back to Hook Fish to try some of their other options. Their fish and chips are a must.

After reading some reviews here I knew it was a small place, so I was pleasantly surprised I could get a reservation during our trip to Sausalito. My husband and I had recently enjoyed some caviar for the first time but we are no experts, and I was a little worried that he might not get enough to eat. Turns out we both left perfectly satisfied. The place is tiny but so elegant. The bar is right in front of the kitchen that is sparkling clean and the chef prepares everything right there. There is a little high top table too and there was a couple there when we arrived, but afterward it was just us and we felt like royalty treated to our private dinner. We aren't caviar experts by any means but Yo did a great job explaining the different caviar flights including where it comes from - turns out the white sturgeon is farmed in the Sacramento Delta. We chose the Menage a Trois white sturgeon flight and it was so elegant. Three kinds of caviar plus all these homemade breads and crackers to enjoy it with. Every bite was amazing and I think we only left a couple of chives. Afterward we picked a couple of other dishes - the Chawanamushi and the Dungeness crab ravioli. Both were exquisite- in flavor and presentation. For dessert we had the sweet potato - Yo described it as a ganache - which I couldn't really picture but it was a very accurate description. It came with asian pear and was just the perfect finish to our meal. I had a couple glasses of French bubbly with my meal - normally I can't do more than one glass of champagne but it was crisp and yummy and paired well with everything we ate. When we were finished we got our check in a cute sturgeon pulp science fiction book. It was the final thoughtful detail to a wonderful evening. Chef Lance is a real artist and he really thinks through the ingredients and the flavors. Everything was so delicious and creative. I hope we get to come back again someday.
