It wasn't bad but it wasn't super amazing either. I ordered the picadillo and a breakfast taco with egg/potato/chorizo. Surprisingly, the line moved pretty fast so I enjoyed that they had fast service. The tacos were still hot when I got them, so I was pretty happy about that. Flavor wise, it was decent but I've definitely had better. The price is alright and they give you pretty big portions so if you're craving some fat tacos, this is the place. Although I usually like breakfast tacos more, the picadillo was much better than the breakfast taco. The meat and flavoring was different than what you would normally expect in tacos. Added some salsa that was given to me but it lacked some spice and salt. I would probably come back due to pricing and to give their other tacos a try but I'm not too crazy for it. read more

Well well well.... I am down in Central Texas and my coworker told me about this drive thru spot. I only ordered 2 Tacos 1 fajita and 1 chicken. These things are HUGE..... I am going to warn you, don't buy 2. You will be waaaaaaaaaaaay to full off of the first one. Now not only are the tacos big, they are greeeeeat! Everything is fresh and good. Recently changed to "Loli's Café", this drive-up spot has been a San Marcos institution for well over a decade & in this Yelp reviewers opinion, they make some of the best breakfast tacos in town! Whether is egg, bacon, sausage, chorizo, papas; it's all good here & the service is prompt & friendly. During the semester is when their business really booms, with lines of cars backed up along Aquarena Springs waiting for that breakfast taco goodness! I highly recommend their bacon, egg, cheese. It's like crack it's so good! Also, if you can park & order at the pick-up window that is highly suggested as I've waited in line in my car & would see people park, walk up to the window, order, & leave before I even got up to the window. I've been to a lot of breakfast taco places in my life, and this cafe is very impressive. They not only have a walk up window to order tacos, but also two drivethrus on opposite sides of the building, which makes the drive thru line extremely fast. Other than that, the food is very fresh, and good quality too. Only con is that if you like soft bacon don't order a taco with bacon in it, because their bacon is more on the crunchy side. read more

I am a girl who loves a good bargain. This is a good bargain. For less than $2 a taco, I fill my belly with all this yumminess! These gals don't skimp on the fillings. Every taco is loaded with fatty goodness. I went to the actual location for the first time today. The other times, I have had them at a friend's house or at Mocha's & Java's in the morning. I went there in the summer at around 7:15 AM. No line at all (although I am sure that will be different once school starts). I got the black bean and cheese, two sausage and eggs, and one bacon and egg. I haven't tried the bacon and egg, because it was for my husband. Let me just tell you. I am pretty sure I could taste the bacon grease in the black beans. It was SO GOOD. Vegetarians beware. They are probably slaughtering animals to make your "vegetarian" taco. Their sausage and egg was pretty good too, but the black bean was way super delish. I would have preferred thicker sausage chunks, but it was ground sausage. The best thing is the slight burn you get from the hot sauce they give you on the side. So awesome. I could dump two of those things in one taco, easily. So if you've never been here, you've got to try it. At least once. What have you got to lose? (besides your animal-loving integrity if you're a vegetarian) Really though, I'm almost positive they have meat fat in most everything they serve. I passed this place randomly and was GLAD I STOPPED IN!! Such a cute lil family owned business with very good prices and GREAT food. Fast service for the drive through but also has a walk up window. Their coffee with sweet cream is BETTER than DD, hella better than star****'s, or anywhere else I've been. I live places where they prep your coffee for you if you'd like! The lady at the window who took care of me made such a good impression and was very helpful with the menu. It was my first time there, and is now, already my go-to for a great meal while in San Marcos before a day of toobin' on the River or a round of disc golf at Flying Armadillo. AMAZING!!! Stopped at this little gem on our way to Schlitterbahn. It was so good we stopped again on our way out of town. It's drive thru on both sides or walk up only. Hubs had the Lolita taco, son and I had the bacon potato egg and cheese tacos. $16 for all 4. They're a pretty decent size and they keep well. We ordered some to take home. Been going here almost weekly for over a decade. The Loli's Combo is probably the best breakfast taco I've ever had. The bacon is huge chunks, not strips, and the red salsa is delicious. Flour tortilla I couldn't tell if it was store bought or homemade and the potato's in my taco had no flavor bacon so too hard to chew and cheese was not melted. I got this Favored a few days ago. My chicken fajita tacos came with guacamole and pico... they were awful. No taste on the chicken whatsoever. I thought it'd be more like chicken fajita as far as the shape, but instead it was shredded with big chunks of dry meat. I bought 2, ate half of one (about as much as I could muster) and thought I'd come back to it. I was nauseous shortly after eating it. Three them away. My boyfriend said his chorizo and egg taco was alright, liked the bacon egg taco although he didn't think the bacon was fresh, and didn't like his sausage and egg taco at all. LOVE the bacon, HATE the cheese. Went to school at Texas State back in 2007-2011 and the tacos were absolutely PERFECT back then. Went back last weekend for a float trip with some friends and the cheese tastes like American fake cheese now, very disappointing. Even with the sad cheese, the tacos were still tasty because the thick-cut bacon and eggs made up for it! The corn tortillas hold up well under all of the fillings, and they definitely don't skimp on portions here.. 2 tacos is plenty for me! Not bad either for ~$2/taco! You can tell that they work extra hard here to make sure that the line moves as quickly as possible, with two drive thru windows on EACH side of the little building, however, be prepared for a bit of a wait (for me it was 15 minutes). You can also choose to park at the car wash right behind the taco shack and walk up to the window they have in front. In fact--I recommend doing that if there are at least 3 cars on each side of the drive thru. Trust me, you'll get your food faster. Definitely worth stopping by and trying out if you are in the area, and hey, it's always nice to support local businesses!! Just wish they would change the cheese back to what they used to have!!! read more
