Service is always unfriendly. The employees seem to enjoy talking to one another more than the customers. I dont know if they're just new, shy, going through a crisis, lacking sleep, naturally have nonchalant attitudes to begin with or just all of the above...But showing a little warmth and appreciation for the people that help fund your paycheck wouldn't hurt. So I found this place by their address, and the popcorn chicken is SO GOOD. The next time I had a hankering for popcorn chicken i called Quickly. Visiting Alhambra, my old home. :( But stopping at my favorite boba place is always nice. ;). I love the drinks. I'm not a fan of the food, but others seems to like it. I saw the owner today who greeted me with a big smile and the girl at the counter remembered my favorite drink. I asked for milk tea w/ almond jelly, but they messed up my order and didn't even bother to make me a new one. They gave me almond milk tea instead. Yikes. The menu is generally cheaper than most and with the new remodeling and grand opening, this place looks much better than it once was. The 1 star review comes not from the quality of the food and drinks, but from the level of service that is provided at this establishment. I was offered a 50% off any large drinks by Lollicup themselves via text message. I ordered and the guy working the cashier told me the total which has not factored in the 50% off. I told him of the 50% and his response was that I have to tell him that before I order, but since he has already punched in the order I won't be able to get this discount. Personally, I don't really care for the 2 dollar discount the 50% offered. They would have done better by not offering it at all. However, because they did and this happened, it shows the level of service this establishment offers. This review is specifically for the cooked food. I've been to Lollicup at this location multiple times and always to get their boba milk tea. The last two times I went here was for their cooked food. The Taiwanese sausage rice is good and tasty, there is an adequate amount of Taiwanese sausage for the price you pay. However, the beef noodle soup needs mention: the broth is extremely salty and it almost tasted like there's plenty of MSG in it. I'm saying this as after finishing the beef noodle soup, I felt a huge and lingering thirst, which did not go away with several glasses of water. Always has been one day d my favorite tea spots and I am an expert at tea and boba taste, flavor, and market price. Prices are average. Good tea, good boba, excellent customer service, and they have a rewards program. Snacks also good. The only down side is that it is cash only. I've come here many times and had to leave because I forgot cash. If they can take credit or debit then they would get a 5 star rating from me. I love this place and I loved their chicken. Why past tense? Because they raised the price of popcorn chicken and changed the packaging from a paper bag to a cup with parchment paper in it. By doing so they now serve WAY less chicken than before and it only looks like a lot because the parchment paper fills up most of the cup. Raising your prices and serving less? My go to boba place in Alhambra. There's probably 5 closer ones to my work, but I come here for the drinks and popcorn chicken. The customer service here is fantastic. Better than any boba place in Irvine, Alhambra, Buena Park, etc. I like that there's so many outlets which is why I see so many people studying here. I don't usually work from a boba spot but it's good to know. The staff is nice, makes sure your to go won't tip over in the car, it's quick, and efficient. Alas, they didn't have it, so I ended up here and fortunately for me, they had it, because that's the only thing that the dude drinks with boba. As for me, I usually get my wintermelon tea fix and just like the Thai Tea, Tapex (short for Tapioca Express) didn't have it either... Man... I was really hoping Lollicup has this too and yay, they had it. They're both okay, not that great, but good enough for us, but what I hated was they upgraded my drink to large, when I specifically only asked the Thai Tea to be in large size. Lollicup, along with Quickly and Tapioca Express, are the fast food of boba and Taiwanese snack chains. They generally have more of a run down Burger King feel and unless you're in high school or college, the decor and quality of food generally isn't suited for the adults with more sophistication tastes. Think hole-in-the-wall bars vs swanky hollywood/vegas bars and you get the contrast. I usually call these places "down and dirty" boba shops as sometimes they may use powder flavors over actual milk or brewed tea. I know they brew tea here but I always feel like corners are cut with my drinks. But hey, it's what I expect from these chains especially with the prices. Speaking of prices, I can't say they are the bargains they used to be. I mean a meal and a drink can add up to $11 quick. I know because I visited to redeem my groupon here recently. For this price, I'd probably prefer Ten Ren's items instead. Overall more of a 2.5 for me - luckily they recently remodeled as this place felt like it was falling apart. This is an extremely overdue review but, this is based on the TERRIBLE experience I had here regarding their service. Their food & beverages are average, nothing special. Prices are also high. The workers don't speak English fluently so make sure your order is correct before placing it. I've been a longtime customer for many years until my most recent visit. They changed the whole staff & now their service is trash. The woman who manages/owns the store is EXTREMELY rude. The last time I was here, I witnessed & heard her yelling at an OLD woman in Mandarin telling her to never come back because she wanted to cancel her order since they haven't made it yet 10-15 mins after she ordered. It wasn't even busy..this old woman ordered right after me. While she was yelling, she opened the cash register, took out the money, walked over to the old woman then angrily waved it in front of her face for her to take the money back. She then pointed to the door and yelled for her to get out and never come back.... after the woman left, she continues to talk bad about this woman in mandarin to her employees & husband. I felt so bad for the old woman... This is no way to treat your customers. Especially an elderly woman who is probably in her 70's. After this incident, I never came back. I cant even imagine how angry I'd be if someone spoke to my grandma like that. You just lost a longtime customer due to this bad temper of yours. Please be mindful that you have customers that UNDERSTAND Mandarin and Cantonese. It was such a terrible & uncomfortable experience. I just wanted my food already so I could leave. read more

I came here yesterday for some cheep food and good tea. I left with food poisoning. Don't eat their curry chicken. Apparently it comes from their corporate distribution center and is not made there. The beef noodle soup had goood size portion of beef in it had this soup twice. The second time ended up a little saltier than the first time. Portion of noodles was smaller than expected. Please read this review carefully! I'm only giving this place four stars for the hours of 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Monday - Friday. This review is only for the Lollicup that is next to Tapioca Express and Tasty Garden. Why? Because it's quiet, there is free internet, and no teeny bopper or little AZNs running around. I brought my ibook here the other day to do some work and it was so nice and quiet. The only people that come in are quiet college students that need to study and lonely professionals grabbing a quick lunch. I don't know if there is free internet at the other Lollicups in the area. The drinks here are okay, nothing particularly good. I would stay away from their new hisbiscus tea. It tasted like kool-aid with an extra cup of sugar in it. I've never had the food here, but the people around me seemed to like it. Maybe I'll give it try the next time I go. It's a good place to study if you don't have class during the hours of 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. After those hours I just have a vision of this place being run down by annoying high school kids trying too hard to look cool. read more

I really like coming here and getting their Sea Salt Green Tea. Whenever my cousins come over from Michigan I'll suggest coming to this place because it's not too packed, drinks are great, and there's Wi-Fi! I really like coming here whenever I want to get away from the house and just sit with my laptop doing things. i'll order Sea Salt Green Tea or one of their $1 drinks along with a snack such as chicken or fries. My niece and nephew like to come here and get drinks too, but they'll add a lot of toppings to the point where your drink is no longer just $3.
