First visit to this taproom and wow, were they busy on a Saturday late afternoon! We came here because one of our favorite local BBQ guys was doing a pop-up there, and we luckily managed to snag a table. The man & woman working the bar (I believe they are the owners) were so friendly & upbeat, even with how incredibly busy they were they still took a moment to engage with each customer as the ordered. The interior is small, but they have plenty of patio seating on the side and out back. They have a good variety of local & regional beers on tap, along with some other options and N/A. They don't have a kitchen, but regularly have food pop-ups so follow them on instagram for updates. Lombard House is an actual house, with a backyard and due to Covid-19, you pretty much just have the backyard to go to. The space inside is very tiny and if you want any sort of food, the St. John's Beer Porch is right across the street. My reason for making my way up to NOPO was because there is a small group of a Philadelphia Eagles fan club (North Portland Bird Watchers Society) that watches games here. It helps that the owner is an Eagles fan as well. The bar has a small selection of beers on tap, but there were a couple of fresh hop brews when I visited. The backyard is actually larger than the inside and a few years back some folks planted different varieties of hops that have been used in ciders by Rev. Nat's. It's a nice neighborhood spot. It's a nice little tap house with some good beers on tap. I've been here a couple times before and I can tell they have a bit of trouble keeping mega cold in the summer. But the bartender is always nice and the service is always fast not much to complain about read more

I was visiting my cousin in Portland for the weekend, and as die-hard Phillies fans, we needed a place to watch games 1 & 2 of the World Series. We could not have asked for a more warm and welcome setting. The owner Brian made us feel like he was welcoming us into his own home. Excellent beer selection and clearly a neighborhood vibe. And the back yard is a glorious place to while away the hours with friends and beers. Family run with fun and funky art, skate gear, and throw backs. I want to tell you not to like this place so I can keep it to myself but from the growing number of people that have already discovered its charm the cat is out of the bag. Brian the owner is extremely personable and makes it a point to introduce himself to new customers. He has an excellent selection of handcrafted micros on tap and knows what he is serving, if you're a bit of a beer snob you will like this place. The place is small but has a warm inviting vibe, when the weather warms and the deck opens the place will no doubt be standing room only. This place is so great! You know you're in the right place when it feels like a little log cabin ready to welcome you in! And Right across the street from all the great food trucks at the St. John's beer porch which you can bring over with you! My mother lives in the neighborhood and we were just passing by- The owner, Brian, gave us a sneak peek! He was so kind to my (70yr old) mother and me. His little pub is so cute and ready for opening (9/15). The space is amazing - several outdoor patios and a darling pub inside. Just when you think it's over there's a gigantic backyard area! I'm already having visions of holding my 40th birthday party there. :-) Well done! read more

This is one of the best bars in Portland. The owner is so friendly and the selection of beers and ciders is always great. You can bring food in from the food trucks across the street. Talk about inclusive. When you walk into this place you feel like a friend. On our visit here everyone at the bar greeted us, as did the bar keep. They were all such nice people, you immediately get a good vibe here. There is zero pretentiousness here. It's clearly people who enjoy great beer and good company As it wasn't an incredibly hot day we opted to sit outside on their cool little porch area. You can people watch and chill out with your brew. This was fun. They have a great rotating tap list full of the usual IPA's you find in PDX, but they also have even more esoteric stuff for the real beer connoisseurs- bier de garde, oud bruins, sours, etc. They even have a great bottle list which is always a welcome addition at a beer bar. I can't wait to return here on my next PDX trip. We were only able to stay for one round. I'd really like to spend a whole day here, chilling out and drinking great beer. If you want a super cool space, full of nice people, and plenty of great beer, then Lombard House is not to be missed. read more
