There were a lot of people, but I was pleasantly surprised by how short the line was to get inside. Parking was plentiful and easy to find. Dollar Day was a great way to experience the park without spending a lot. They offered $1 hot dogs, beer, and sodas, making it easy to grab something while enjoying the races. I purchased a general admission ticket. With the large crowd, finding a place to sit was probably the biggest challenge. There was plenty of activity throughout the park but seating filled up quickly. I would recommend arriving early if having a good seat is important to you. The races themselves were well organized and exciting to watch. The horses appeared healthy and well cared for, and it was fun getting to see the races up close and experience the excitement of the track. The cashiers were incredibly welcoming and patient and actually took the time to explain how to place a bet.

That being said, my expectations were a bit hit and miss here. But mostly a fantastic experience. I love that it's exquisitely beautiful and very clean. I love that staff is formally dressed to impress! Collared shirts and all, it allows the guest experience to feel better. The cream of the crop though is the trumpet guy. He was everywhere and making people feel really special, by playing and getting the crowd to sing, he's really magnificent. A stand out to all other tracks, as nobody has what he does! The aircon is fabulous, so you can feel comfortable the entire day! The food service stations were helpful and nice all great! Each employee has a specific job , so nobody will help you if it's outside their job we discovered, as in helping find seats, getting programs, where's the ice cream, where do we enter for premium parking? All questions we had a tough go of. I wish there were umbrellas out front for shade, I wish more tables and chairs ground level inside, I wish there was a pony station to pet the ponies? But no. Another surprising thing I saw was a pony rider, while waiting on the track, smoking a cigarette! One cinder flick in the air onto a horse or person is not safe at all. Am really shocked this is allowed. Totally loved the "car wash" to the side for the horses who just finished, what a treat to see and treat for the horses, people say they love it. Could be good for marketing! Speaking of which, in my week there, most locals where I went, grocery restaurants gas stations didn't know that track existed! It's a marketing thing but maybe big Texas track doesn't need the money, not sure. Houston has the very best marketing team. Perhaps get some pointers! Now, this is by far another best, the track announcer! He's really the best, he talks loud enough and slow and has the most kind and caring voice of all. Most track announcers act like they've had ten gallons of coffee, not this guy, he's like everyone's loving grandpa! He keeps everyone up to the minute, and we just happed to be there with the inclement weather closure and the race collision and he was cool as a cucumber! Another one of a kind. And then lastly, security. Top notch, they make sure you are accounted for with proper ID and all, it likely any horses here will be tampered with or stolen, fat chance! And the outriders, again top notch safety, they secured the loose horses that fell super quick, they are constantly on the lookout for safety, getting ponies in line organized for each race, for a guest it looks so well organized! Sorry such a long read, but loved it here and wanted to share and hope this helps others who wish to spend the day or more here, it's so so fun! A MUST DO WHILE IN DALLAS!

I met with David in July 2024, and even though my wedding wasn't until April 2026, he made himself incredibly available throughout that entire time. Whether it was meeting in person, texting, or chatting over the phone, David was always there to answer the many questions that arose during our extensive wedding planning. He was so easy to work with, exceptionally thorough with information, and even provided great suggestions along the way. Additionally, Irene's Bakery--the bakery the venue partners with--was fantastic! The cake was delicious and delivered right on time. We also worked with DJ Ivan, who did an amazing job! He executed our timeline perfectly and played exactly the songs I had requested. On the day of the wedding, our reception went incredibly smoothly. The room was set up exactly according to the floor plan we had discussed. There was plenty of staff on hand, ensuring that both the head table and every guest table were well taken care of. Everyone was attentive and brought a wonderful, positive energy to the evening. As both the bride and the planner of my own wedding, I intentionally tried to keep things relatively simple--and even so, everything turned out absolutely beautifully. I didn't have to stress or worry about a single thing on our big day. I highly recommend Royal Affairs Ballroom for a wedding or any other milestone event. We've had 2 weddings at this location and David and his staff were beyond stellar. From our first meetings, until the night of the event, David and the staff stayed in contact with us. We really never had to worry about anything. If we asked David for something special - example, daughter loves Dr. Pepper - it was there. I wish I had taken a picture of the Dr. Pepper bottles on the bar. Still makes me smile when I think about it. Our last wedding was on December 14, 2024. I was nervous about this time frame due to private parties and other weddings. With this date, and other special events happening at Royal Affairs, I was concerned with setup time as I, mother of the bride, was the setup team. David worked with the schedule of other parties, as well as our availability, and made it possible for us to setup before the wedding rehearsal. We got the much-needed rehearsal, and my daughter got a first look at the decorated venue. She was very VERY happy. The day of the event, everything was perfect when we walked in. We were able to get into the Ballroom early for dressing, pictures, etc. Timing was never an issue as, we spoke with David beforehand and he made everything come together for us. Both of our weddings were beyond special and we have David and the Royal Affairs Ballroom to thank. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thank you, David and Royal Affairs. Both of my kids had beautiful wedding and we can honestly say, you had a hand in this

The staff is friendly and helpful. My room, a single king, was great. It had plenty of room, a couch, a 55" TV, desk, roomy closet, nice bathroom. It has a fridge but no in-room microwave. There is one down by the front desk available 24/7. There is a hair dryer and hair shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in the shower. it has nice cubby spaces in the lobby to gather as friends. Very nice. I would stay here again. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The facility accommodates a variety of meetings, get togethers, and workspace needs. There was a separate kitchen area where people could get coffee or water. Someone brought bagels, but it looked like you could do more in the kitchen space should you want to. There were a variety of tables and chairs grouped together throughout the facility creating unique rooms such as a cafe, bar, lounge, and general workspace. If you needed an office or conference room, you could certainly hold it here. I have no idea what the price is for the space. It seems they are missing out on an opportunity to get this information to people visiting. It seems like they should have a large price board advertising this or at the very least require groups meeting here to mention this. In all fairness, they did have a reception area at the front that ai breezed past because it was so early. No one was staffing the area at 7am. This place had a very casual, playful, and informal feel to it. I could imagine renting it out for other group meetings and events. They seem to have all of the basics covered.
