Meh. Donuts are like pizza, and sex: when they good, they're very good. But when they're bad, they're still pretty good. But, these were just OK...and not good. Bought an apple fritter and a maple bar for $6. You read that right. Six American dollars for two damn donuts. If they'd been really good, I would have given them a three...but they weren't. The fritter had, I think, two pieces of apple in it, and cost $3.50. A maple bar for $2.50? Really? There's nothing about this place that sets it apart from Safeway. Maybe even 7-11. Their stuff isn't bad, but definitely weren't equal in value to a gallon of gas (well, in other states). I don't think the product sucked, but it was just blah, and for the money, I'll never go back. read more

If you're a donut fan these are some of the better ones around. They have their own shop now that they moved out of the Italian restaurant in town. This is a much better environment for them preparing and serving. The variety of donuts is excellent. Many flavors that you probably know and love, as well as some unique ones. Unfortunately for me, most of the time they are out of my favorite basic glazed donut. Must be the most popular because they are always out no matter what time I arrive. If I'm lucky, they occasionally have them coming out of the donut maker fresh. I just have to wait an additional 5 minutes or so. My only complaint is that it's a bit chaotic, and not very smooth in terms of how they check people out. They have one terminal and the customers have to move back and forth between each other and the line in order to finish paying the bill. With my bad hip, I am not very happy with that system. What a fun donut shop! I'm jealous of the folks who live over here in Silverdale. Walked in and there was already a line. By the time I got to the counter the line was already to the door. They had all the classics and some unique donuts too. Staff was really friendly with everyone. They were really enthusiastic about filling donut orders and customers were really happy to be there too. They have a couple of tables. Lots of free parking since they share a lot with other businesses. Really convenient too since they're near the freeway. Not sure if the owners are from Texas or visited Texas and decided to bring whatever they learned down there back up here to WA state. Either way, it's nice to know this place exists. read more

First off they are so polite and welcoming. They made more dog donuts for me. My brother brought me some of their donuts a few months ago, and someone from church shared some a few weeks before that. I finally made it over here myself last week. I liked what I tasted. I can back to grab a cinnamon sugar and try the guava. They had 4 dog donuts out but I needed ten and that accommodated me! Now that 5 star business. Location is clean, orderly, and well maintained. Busy parking lot depending on the time of day. Major plus is they stay open until 5:00 p.m. that is great for those of us who want a treat after work. I will definitely return. read more

Honestly did not know that this place existed, but recently saw a post on FB, so decided to give it a try. The morning crowd is usually quite big so we rolled in after noon on Sunday. The racks were pretty bare, but there were still a good variety to choose from. We wanted to sample a few different ones, and came home with a maple bacon donut, a maple bar, a butterfinger glazed donut, sprinkle donut and an apple fritter. The customer service is great and they have a variety of drinks to purchase and a nice area to sit and enjoy your purchase. Tee shirts are also available for sale as well. Personally, I really liked the glazed donut and the butterfinger one, the apple fritter was probably my least favorite. I would love to come back and sample others when the racks are full and they are hours old. read more

Well, well, well, there's a new donut in town. First and foremost, donuts are one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE foods. I adore them. If donuts could be the base of my recommended daily food pyramid, I would be the happiest gal in the world. I love a good donut. I've been hearing the buzz about Lone Star Donuts and felt it was my donut connoisseur's duty to pop on over to Silverdale to check them out. Glad I did. Where Lone Star is going to stand out from other shops in the area are their glazes and fillings. These donuts are a Saturday morning cartoon in dough form. The pinks are PINK and the pineapple is PINEAPPLE. There's nothing subtle about these flavors. It's a good thing that the donut itself is so very, neutral. It is simply a vessel for the toppings and fillings. Be sure to grab a cup of coffee or something to drink along with your deep-fried deliciousness, because these babies are SWEET. I ordered a maple donut and an apple fritter (my standards by which I measure all donuts), a pineapple filled and a lemon filled (both very nice with a decent filling to dough ratio) and a strawberry raised, for big D, who loves strawberry anything. He said it was tasty. A lot like a glass of Strawberry Nesquik. The staff is super friendly with doggie donuts (dognuts?) and donut holes for the youngest devotees. A coworker of mine brought in some donuts from Lonestar and boy when I looked at the donuts I thought they were the most prettiest donuts ever lol, as a teachers the colors were just amazing! I snagged an Oreo one before they were all gone and it was super delicious. You know how some donut places are just for the aesthetics but they don't taste good? Well Lonestar isn't that, they look good and taste really good too! 2 days later I came to Lonestar on the weekend and had to get my own, I ordered half a dozen. I know most donut places sell old fashioned and they're nice but for some reason the one I got brought me back to when I lived in Japan. it's not too sweet and cakey and had the perfect crunch! So, if you go here expect to be there immediately when open or expect there to be 1/5th of the inventory that others don't want there for you. Hey folks, went to Lonestar Donuts two get two simple donuts, a sugar and a glazed twist. When the girl said $5.29 (can't remember exactly, maybe it was more, but definitely over $5.00) I said you are kidding. Over $2.50 for a simple donut, and mediocre donuts at that is a rip-off! They are ripping the public off. No wonder inflation is so high. Quit patronizing them. Told them to keep their donuts and went to Sly's in Poulsbo. The same donuts at Sly's were $3.90, tax included. Pretty much my favorite doughnuts in Kitsap. But I'm only giving 3 stars because I walked in and asked for a dozen. It was supposed to be 2 guava, 2 mango, and 2 Dulce de leche filled as part of my order. I realized once I got all the way home a couple hours later, I was given 3 Dulce de leche and 3 raspberry filled (which I just happen to not like at all). So it was a huge bummer to expect guava or mango. And ending up with neither. We went on an epic adventure trying to find donuts this morning. After visiting three places in Port Orchard, to no avail (all were closed at 6am), we headed off to Silverdale. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice lady and racks of delightful donuts! We grabbed a dozen, including some twist, cream filled maple bacon long johns, apple fritters, and iced with sprinkles. (About $25 total) when we got home we all shared pieces of our chosen treats, which were all scrumptious, but the fritter won, hands down. Finally a donut place in Silverdale. I've been saying how this needed to happen years ago! Honestly I did not even know this place existed until I was shopping at the Asian Market in the same plaza. I was squinting over there when I walked out because there were no signs up yet. But I saw so many people walk out with boxes and I had to check it out. I went in and there was a small line, but it went by quickly. The ladies helped me out and there are so many choices. I love sweets so just choosing the regular donuts won't do for me. I wanted all the flavors. Any how, the next times I have been, there was an instant where I forgot my wallet, thankfully they did take apple pay. Good donuts, as donuts go. We tried a half dozen assorted and a doggie donut last Thursday. They've got an interesting set of flavors and types to choose from. I really enjoyed the blueberry lavender. My daughter liked the vanilla with froot loops on top. And my wife liked the cream cheese filled donut. One star down was for the two underwhelming offerings out of the 6. The pineapple filled donut was not all that flavorful. Sweet, but hard to get the pineapple through all the sugar. But the chocolate filled one needs to go back to the drawing board... the consistency of the filling was Hershey syrup. It ran out on the first bite and drizzled on everything... hands, arms, clothes, shoes. Way too watery. We'll check back another day to see if things hit the mark. All together, an enjoyable treat.
