8:38 AM on Tuesday It was my first visit today. The staff were friendly and explained the various flavors. The place is really clean and cute. The huge windows brighten up the store. I purchased half a dozen regular plus 3 premium. The gigantic one is Dulce De Leche with cinnamon. There were so many colorful ones that it was difficult to choose. I took home all 9 and enjoyed some with coffee. Next time I'll take my sister and dog to enjoy it right there. Everything was delicious and super fresh. read more

Came here for donuts and this place did not disappoint! HUGE SELECTION. My husband loves a Boston cream, and the filing to donut ratio was perfect. The fritters are GIANT and equally delicious. My personal favorite are donut holes. These were fresh, soft, and sweet. The staff was beyond helpful and patient with us as we felt somewhat stumped on what would be a good choice. Cleanliness, great customer service and the donuts that I did purchase were very fresh. Lone Star donuts dough is a little heavy. I was a first time customer and they gave me one donut at no cost. I can say I'm a donut snob, because every where I travel, I try the donut shops. I compare them to the one in my neighborhood one and only VG's donuts in Cardiff California. I've been going there for 55 years. The recipe hasn't changed and their dough is extremely light. Thank you Lone Star for the nice customer service. read more

I'm so glad I saw the sign for this place! The person working there was super sweet. Definitely telling our family that lives over here to try it, and we will be back whenever we're in the area. I got the guava filled and the chocolate coconut. Both were great! I think the guava stood out to me more as my fave. My bf got a raspberry frosted with sprinkles and a chocolate filled. They were good but they're just not what I would've picked, preference-wise. As we left we were given a little freebie (some mini donut holes) which is always so exciting! My only thing is it was awkwardly quiet in there for a bit while we were looking and deciding, I think some low-volume music would help. I know a good donut when I see one. These are high-quality donuts, and they have kolaches, too. I tried the plain cake, as this can be a good test of quality, before icing or toppings are added. The plain cake was a little crispy outside, fluffy inside, and not greasy. I also am a Tucker for filled donuts and the Raspberry filled did not disappoint anf the yeast/raised donuts are very well done. I'll be going back for kolaches (czech/Texas pastry, usually filled with fruit, but in Texas sometimes filled with savory meat or eggs). Well done! Better than average donuts. read more

I was lucky enough to come across this wonderful bakery (Gomez Donuts / Lonestarpoulsbo.com) in Poulsbo and found all of my favorites there. First, the people there are so happy to serve anyone walking through the door and even toss in a couple of extras with my order for me to try. Second, these donuts were mind and taste bud blowing incredible!! They are bigger than the usual also so plan on being full with just one! My favorite is the apple fritter and kept coming back every day during my visit there. I wish they could ship them to me! I'm drooling just thinking about them! Thirdly, the store is very open concept, neat, and you can see all of the staff working on orders and making the donuts- I was thoroughly excited to see everything in action. Great prices too. I've been thinking about trying this donut place for a few months now and finally decided to go in today. BEST. DECISION. EVER. I went in to just grab a donut for me and my boyfriend to try and ended up getting 5 because the options were all too tempting. First of all, the customer service is amazing. The worker was very patient with me as I couldn't make up my mind on what to get. As for the donuts themselves, they are super fluffy but still feel very filling and dense. The lavender blueberry was unlike anything I've ever had, 10 minutes into the car ride the box of 5 was almost completely gone. The pricing is also very reasonable, I believe it was around $10 for 5 donuts, which for how amazing they are is honestly quite cheap. I will most definitely be returning to try as many flavors as possible! read more

Doughnuts are good. Their kolaches are definitely not Louisiana style. They are more like a pigs in the blanket. I go to Louisiana every year and enjoy the ones down there. I hope lone star can change their recipe. read more

Great donuts. They have a pretty big variety of both traditional and specialty flavors. Heck, they even have kolaches! The staff is friendly without being pushy or fake, and they are pretty good about providing updates via social media when their hours change for any reason. The store is well lit, with room for folks to look over the menu and the display case without crowding each other- and it is easy to find parking in front of the store and just across the street in a pinch. (No circling for 20 minutes or fighting to exit on to a busy street like you sometimes have to do at other bakeries in Poulsbo.) Bottom line: I'm really enjoying Lone Star and it's definitely becoming my go-to option. read more
