WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you haven't eaten here, you are missing out on life!! Family run business from Texas that actually cares about feeding you QUALITY food. For all the Texans out there, YES, they do have KOLACHES, and hot take, they are BETTER than what you remember from home. These donuts blow everything out of the water, including their specialty donuts (try the Tiger Twist). Whether you're in Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton, or even Port Orchard, trust me, it's worth the drive. Military Discount, Rewards Program, and the friendliest smiles anyone could ask for. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! GO BOW

ATTENTION TEXANS- Yall moved up here and now are doomed to a life of mediocre donuts. Yall are missing fluffy donuts and kolaches. This shop has them!! Yalls problems have been solved!!!! 10/10 no notes. Come support your fellow Texans so I can keep eating these donuts

There is no place to sit inside but there are sidewalk benches or you can walk as you snack. I love that you can look at all the pastries from the side walk. They not only entice you to get a pastry or three but you can plan out what you want while waiting in line. When you order, if I remember correctly, you only get your items in a box if you order more than six items. If you order less they are placed into a waxed bag. I ordered the sour cream donut, Viking cup, and a butterhorn with almonds. I loved them all! They all tasted so fresh, had a great texture, and was absolutely yummy. The Viking cup had the perfect balance of frosting to bun.

There was a line out the door even 30 minutes before closing, but it went pretty fast and the shelves were also well stocked with pastries; not bare like I expected them to be coming so soon before closing. The person behind the counter explained that the Viking cups were all 20% off as the batch that day came out with irregular shapes. Taste wise it wasn't bad, tastes like a regular cinnamon roll but with more of that homemade touch you get with good quality ingredients and handmade cream cheese frosting (the contrast from store bought to homemade is big when it comes to cream cheese). The frosting had good texture and surprisingly I liked it better than the actual roll, especially since I'm known to always remove cream cheese icing. I think the roll would have been better if it had been served warm. Overall it was not bad, a little sweeter than I would have preferred, but I'm also not a huge cinnamon roll or cream cheese fan because of how sweet they always are in general, so that could just be a personal preference. Want to try the pecan roll or any of the cookies next time I visit, those sounded promising as well. Prices here are also pretty decent considering how touristy this place is, and coming from Seattle, anything under $5 is a relief. Definitely will become a place I hit every time I'm in Poulsbo!

This location specifically is my favorite. (They have 1 downtown Poulsbo and another opening in Silverdale) It's the OG and everything about it whispers cozy coffee shop. A perfect place for a quiet date or a place to do some office work or meet with a friend. Even the outdoor seating is cozy. It's not a huge place so it's kind of forced into being cozy but they have used the space well. Even have a drive through. Though fair warning as this is the best coffee around that drive through line leaks onto the main rd and you may be better off just going inside. They also have such unique specials for espresso based drinks. I have never been led wrong by their flavor combos. The also sell single origin ethiopa coffee and canned cold brew, 2 things I am always on the hunt for.

Caffe Cocina "The Good, the bad, and the ugly"…read more Caffe Cocina is surprisingly busy, perhaps due the the Finn Hill Road drive through? I have very mixed feelings about this local Poulsbo, and soon to be Silverdale, establishment. The good: Caffe Cocina's food is arguably the best reason to visit one of their cafes. In particular, the chicken chorizo breakfast burritos are really delicious! The drink selection is extensive with some innovative twists on lattes and other coffee and tea based drinks. Unfortunately, I really judge a coffee shop on its ability to brew a really flavorful cup of black coffee - I will come back to that later in the review. The bad - The Finn Hill road location has mediocre to bad customer service depending on the day and the shift. Unless you are a charismatic individual under the age of 30, you are likely to be received with no shortage of attitude and general disdain...as if it is your pleasure to be ignored for as long as possible and then to have your order taken with the type of apathy that I would normally approach a Monday morning work conference call where you know you are going to have to listen to that one coworker that seems enamored with their ability to ask questions on points already sufficiently covered...I digress. The downtown location has much friendlier service, so head there if you do not require drive through services. The ugly - The coffee and coffee beans, probably tolerable if you are having an espresso-based drink, but I would shy away from the drip coffee and the beans for brewing coffee at home. The coffee is frankly over roasted, too oily, and decidedly one note for most of the beans that I have tried. I have sampled dark, medium, light roasts and single origins and have not tried anything worth recommending. Should this have been a 3 or a 4 star review? That depends on the location you are visiting and what you are visiting for. If you simply focus on the downtown location, I would by default increase this to a (4) star review due to the excellent customer service and the fact that they offer a pour over (unfortunately, the coffee is still mediocre). If you are visiting the Finn Hill location for anything other than the food, I stand by my (3) star review which is frankly generous given my experience most visits.

Most custom cake bakeries want much more advance notice but Nostalgia House only needed 48 hours. I will say if you are going to this bakery looking for pastries on Saturday...go early. When I got there at 10 they were cleaned out. It's a nice space clean, quiet and cozy. On the one hand there is nothing extra like onions or peppers it is loaded with eggs and tasty pork sausage. The tortilla was very good, not too thick but thin and tender. Even though I was hungry it was difficult to finish the large burrito. I would definitely come back just for the burrito. I tried a blueberry streusel muffin- didn't care for it, seemed dry and lacked blueberries. The muffin itself had a yellow cake like batter and the streusel lacked sweetness or flavor. I also chose a Carmel pecan roll. It was much more to my liking, especially after I warmed it up. It was much like my grandmother used to make. Soft, nice amount of topping. Finally I tried a mini sourdough loaf . Made toast with it and it was tasty, toasted up nice. I will come back to try some of the other treats they have- and definitely another burrito!!

First their baked goods are stodgy and not properly executed. Their shortbread tastes like cardboard and is nothing like English shortbread should be. No good butter in evidence here. Their koign amman is not even crisp on the outside. There is something off with each baked item. If you enjoy dump and go style baking that don't require any refinement but are full of American sugar, I think you will feel this is an elite bakery. Otherwise, this is a bad knock off attempt. Scones seem to be chewy and tasteless. I got a "lemon poppyseed" polenta cake where there was no lemon-y flavor at all! It was also heavy and couldn't handle more than 3 bites at a time. Stuck in the gullet. Second their service is appalling. The people behind the counter are all in on some inside ball game and customer service is not their emphasis. They are looking away while half-heartedly asking you what you would like, and more interested in serving up verbal repartees to their co-workers while distractedly trying to complete a sale. You can expect to repeat your order a few times. Then there's the off-handed use of bakery tissue which is not quite neat and hygienic. I mean it's a shambolic operation that gets away with it because there is no competition in Kingston unless you take the ferry across to Edmonds.
