After a week home, Mabel did test positive with coccidia and giardia (this one has taken awhile to clear). Our vet told us this probably came from her mom. We adopted our first Goldendoodle from Lonestar Doodles 8 years ago! Bella is and English Cream F1 Goldendoodle and the absolute love of my life. She is my shadow and has been my best friend all these years. Everyone stops to tell us that she is one of the most beautiful doodles, and she is! We loved her so much we decided to adopted another one from Lonestar Doodles, he is an F1B English Cream. He is SO smart and absolutely obsessed with me, there isn't a move I make where he isn't right by me. He adores my kids and is so patient with them. We will only have Lonestar Doodle puppies in our family and would (and do) recommend Lonestar Doodles to anyone. We know so many people with their doodles that adore them. They are easy to communicate with and love that they are a family. I think it says something that they have been doing this for so many years. Lonestar Doodles sold me a sick puppy in March 2022. She had bloody diarrhea and vomiting from the moment I took her home. She was sick with Parvovirus and they told me to give her goat dewormer. They refused to take accountability until I threatened legal action and they refunded the amount that I paid for her. They tried to get me to sign an NDA. I refused and again threatened to involve a lawyer. It's so sad and sickening to hear that even now, they're still selling sick puppies. While my dog is still alive today, she has had NO shortage of health problems as a result of her genetics and her exposure to parvo. Think twice before buying your puppy here. read more

They sent me home with a sick puppy. They treat their puppies themselves rather than paying and taking them to an actual vet. They try to save money by taking short cuts at the expensive of their puppies and their customers wallets. My puppy had had diarrhea since the day I got him and they knew he was ill telling me to give him safe guard for goats! Why give a healthy animal medine and the wrong medicine at that! They tell me 1CC for a 7 lb puppy which was double the dose to give any animal for that weight. Also, the dog needed to be treated at the vet and put on actual medicine. All their puppies are infected because this is so highly contagious. Trust all the bad reviews. They will knowingly sell you a sick puppy and leave you to deal with it and pay for all of the vet bills. read more

BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS! I found a puppy on the Lonestar Doodles site and contacted them. I was told she was spoken for and they tried to interest me in a litter mate at a lower price, sending me videos and photos of another dog. I was only interested in the one. A few days later, they contacted me stating that she was available and they were selling her at a discount. I thought nothing of it. I've noticed that some breeders lower prices for older (i.e. 3-4 months) previously reserved puppies when the original party backs out. Lonestar Doodles also commonly puts lines through their original prices and posts "discounted" prices for a vast majority of their dogs. Nevertheless, I asked if the dog was healthy. The breeder responded in writing that they "would never sell a dog with known issues". I signed the contract and paid a deposit plus half the balance that they invoiced me for in advance. This is not a stated practice on their website and probably should have been red flag #1. After I paid, I asked for the vet records and DOB in order to make a vet appointment as required by their contract. They refused, saying I could get that upon pick up. (red flag #2) I drove to Weatherford to pick up the puppy and reviewed the paperwork - which was on their letterhead and not signed by a licensed vet (red flag #3). I noted that she was actually 17 weeks old and hadn't had her rabies vaccine yet as required by Texas law. I planned on handling it at the first vet appointment, but still (red flag #4). My son picked the puppy up out of the enclosure. I scratched her head, paid the balance, and left quickly since the next pickup was arriving. When we got home, my puppy pooped before she even walked in the door. There was obvious blood in her stool. (red flag #5) I took a picture and send it to the breeder. They said it was normal and due to stress. The poop quickly advanced to diarrhea. Twelve hours later, while rubbing her belly, I felt a lump and discovered an umbilical hernia. (red flag #6). I called the breeder who claimed to know nothing, blaming her lack of knowledge on "a new employee". She said she would cover the cost of the repair. I told her that I was going to take the puppy to the vet the very next morning and have her checked out. She snickered and said, "well that's really soon" - despite their contract stating to take the dog to the vet within 72 hours of pickup (#7). I told her I also planned to get the rabies vax since it wasn't listed on the paperwork. Her response was "we never vaccinate our puppies this early". When I pointed out that it was the law in Texas to vaccinate for rabies by 16 weeks, she said "it absolutely is NOT the law". It absolutely IS the law. (RF #8). The vet confirmed the hernia and Giardia as the cause of the diarrhea. The hernia repair was quoted as a $250 add on to the spay. I let the breeder know that due to the undisclosed hernia, the cost of the repair, and her undisclosed illness, I would like a partial refund. She said she would give me $100 toward the cost of the hernia repair rather than honor her original promise to cover it (RF #9). She said that because she heavily discounted the puppy by $2400 compared to her litter mates and she wouldn't pay any more than $100. I quickly reminded her that she originally tried to sell me one of my puppy's litter mates for a lower price than I paid for my puppy. (RF #10). The takeaway lesson is that they sell sick puppies with birth defects and will not disclose it - even when you ask. While honesty is always the best policy, it isn't their policy. We had the best experience with Lonestar Doodles. They answered all our questions and were extremely responsive. They raised my sweet Maisey who is now 5 years old. We joke that she isn't a real dog, that she is so calm she could have been a cat in another life. She has been calm since she was a puppy and was so easy to train. She is our only dog and truly we don't know if we will ever be able to get another out of fear they won't measure up to her. My kids adore her and she she loves my kids. I have sent several friends and co-workers to Lonestar Doodles. A truly easy and great experience. We are so thankful to have our girl in our lives. read more

Puppy came home with hookworms, UTI and also has an umbilical hernia. I was not informed of the umbilical hernia (or worms/UTI), this can be hereditary and the parents shouldn't be bred anymore. I saw another reviewer say their pup had one too. They use goat dewormer, puppy was 11 weeks old and had recieved one parvo vaccine. Not DHPP, only parvo. There are no parents on their website just puppies and they show up randomly. You can look every Tuesday and there's new puppies, some young, some slightly older. While we love our pup and he is a good boy, I would not recommend anyone get a dog from this place. Its practices are very in line with a puppy mill. read more

To the breeder directly: It's absolutely crucial that you ensure the puppies are healthy before rehoming them. I've met several LoneStar Doodles in the DFW area that unfortunately also came home with giardia and coccidia, which is completely unacceptable. Which now makes sense why this is in your contract as something you will not cover. It is not "stress," it is the lack of responsibility from the breeder making these puppies healthy. It would be greatly appreciated if you were 100% transparent about WHERE and HOW the puppies are raised, rather than just showcasing the lifestyle they're portrayed to have. Not to mention please stop "discounting" the puppies? Meeting puppies in person is so important to customers, I now understand the real reason why that's not allowed: they're raised in different areas of Texas, with pickup in Weatherford at "grandmas house." Transparency should be a top priority, both for the well-being of the puppies and for the trust of your customers. read more

I got a goldendoodle from them but I wish I got it from a reputable breeder instead of them. I have not had a good experience from them and I truly think there are better breeders than they are. My reasons for not ever recommending them is 1. if you do not have an Apple phone you are out of luck seeing the puppies on video so if you cant go in person you have to choose a puppy off of pictures they do and things can be hidden in a picture. 2. They do not do any genetic or disease testing for their dogs or show the results so for anyone knows these can be like backyard dogs. 3. Number 2 leads to this reason, they sold me a hernia dog and not ONCE did they tell me or inform me. Please note if researching umbilical hernias they do mention on the internet that it is CONGENITAL so they should not be breeding their dogs. 4. This puppy I have received, I have had nothing but problems so I do think it is a sick puppy they gave me since all this puppy has had is constant diarrhea along with the hernia no one told me about. This should have been a happy time but lesson learned, please choose another reputable breeder that actually posts genetic testing on their websites I certainly will when I get another goldendoodle otherwise if you get from this breeder you risk getting a hernia dog. read more

12/27/2019 We have gotten a goldendoodle from them in the past but if we were to do it again, we would prob. try a different breeder and here is why... - we were not allowed to see mom and dad (not even in pictures) or visit the puppies environment where they were raised. - no where on the website says that the parents are genetically health tested for inherited diseases. After doing intense research we now know what a reputable breeder entails. Unfortunately, we put down a deposit for our second doodle before doing our research and have been unable to get it back. They told us to find someone else to take our deposit, but they won't even try us to post on their site to see if anyone would take our deposit. After months of trying to find someone and being unsuccessful we have finally decided to dispute the charge. We thought that after gotten out baby from them once they wouldn't be so rigid about our deposit. We have found other breeders that allow people to visit the home where puppies are raised, thus also show mom/dad, offer refundable deposits and health test their parents which make the whole experience of getting a puppy much more enjoyable! read more
