The beers are great and the location is very nice. My kids enjoyed playing the arcade games. The food was pretty bad. We ordered the mushroom pizza ans none of us could eat it. The margarita pizza was decent, but nothing to write home about. None of us enjoyed the deep fried sour dough balls. They soaked up too my much grease and didnt really taste great. They added a ton of garlic on top to try and give it flavor. I would never eat here again. Loved the beer, and the brewery itself, but the food was terrible. read more

Maybe I was a little harsh with my first review. I'm still not a fan of their beer but the people inside that kitchen know what they're doing! Plus the beertenders usually provide great service. It's a chill spot. Couple TVs, board games, pinball machines and a Sake bar. Parking can usually be found within a block of the brewery but it isn't the best neighborhood to walk around in so keep an eye on your surroundings. Celebrated my birthday at Long Beach beer lab and had a great time! We went on a Saturday and they happened to have a market going on downstairs so you weren't able to get a table in that area while it was going on. Luckily, my friends had arrived around 330 and the upstairs was pretty empty so we got to hang out up there mostly by ourselves! I loved the vibe in that area with the lights, couches, big communal table, and games. There is only one bar downstairs so you have to go down when you want a drink/to order food but it wasn't really a big deal. They have great beers, was a fan of their IPAs and light & crisp options. I really wanted to like the tiki dole light, a sour dipa, but it was too sweet for me. The bartender was nice about it it though and switched it out for me - they do give samples so I did that next time I wasn't sure about a beer. Not only do they have great drinks, but delicious food, too! We ordered the sourdough loaf, margherita pizza, mushroom pizza, grandma slice, Cinnamon roll, and lemon tart. Everything was so good! My favorite was the mushroom pizza, it was pretty truffly tasting. I didn't try the cinnamon roll, but did enjoy the lemon tart. They are a bread lab too so makes sense why everything tasted so good. Been coming here regularly for years and have been a proud Lab Rat (beer club) member for several. Levi & Harmony are the wonderful owners of the brewery and bakery. Everything has improved over the years and this is one of my favorite places in LB. The pizzas are crave worthy, pastries and bread fantastic, and the beer keeps getting better and better. Go on a Monday for the onion rings - they're totally worth it! I am so proud that they acted as a bodega during 2020 and really worked their asses off to serve the community. This speaks volumes of the type of business and people they are. Now that they have been able to expand into the brewery area next door, it's more comfortable for seating areas. The pizzas were delicious. We had 3 personal sized pizzas (Mushroom, Margherita and Cheese pizzas) accompanied with a basket of fries (plenty for 2 adults and a child), and a pair of frozen lemonade drinks (tastes natural with minimal sugar). It was worth the wait for the pizzas. At first I was like what is taking so long? Then I realized once I received my pizzas that it was definitely worth the wait. If I happen to be in the area again, then I would like to try one of their desserts (cream cheese swirl brownie or their cookies n cream cheesecake). Hats off to the chef, on the great quality pizzas. I wish they served some pizzas with protein, but regardless I still really enjoyed the food. read more

We're regulars to this brewery and we've never had an issue until our last visit. The beer is good and pizza is great with a side of marinara sauce. Out visit on Thursday, August 11th: The person who took out order forgot that we ordered pizza. This after we asked them twice about our order. We had to wait about 45 minutes to receive a burnt pizza. Beyond disappointed. Not sure if they were in a rush because kitchen was about to be close but regardless, a product such as what we received should never be given to customers. Nobody took accountability. read more

I can't believe this place has one of the best margarita pizzas ever! The crust on this pizza is insanely good: perfectly crispy and chewy! I was very pleasantly surprised by this pizza. There is also great beer here as you can probably guess. They also bake some of the freshest bread in town so make sure you check out their baked offerings as well! The staff are always pleasant and patient. The brewery is set up nicely for food and drinks and can accommodate larger groups. Good beer and delicious pizza but room for improvement. Let's break it down below: Beer: Tried the Red Head Retention red ale and a triple hazy ipa (don't recall the name). Both were really good and the triple Ipa was smooth and drinkable. 5.0 Pizza: the margarita pizza was delicious and the crust was even better. A little side of sauce would have made it perfection. Next time I will pay for extra cheese, which was a little lacking. Meat pizza options would be awesome as well. Just sayin'. 4.8 Baked goods/Coffee: My chocolate chip cookie was really good. It had a crispy edge and soft in the middle. It paired perfectly with my latte (pretty good). 4.7 Service: The girl who took our order wasn't very friendly or helpful, but the guy who closed us out was awesome, engaging and thanked us for coming. 4.0 Vibe: Not my vibe at all. The "elevator" music was slow and dreary. No TVs/sports. And I'm someone who goes to bars/breweries to chill out and relax. Not a fan of kids running around breweries while their parents ignore them and drink beer. Also a group of pre-teens came in, didn't order anything and were just hanging out at a table. A lot has changed since I last stopped by here. I was already having a tough day and the staff was so rude to me :( I ordered one Margherita pizza and it took over 30 minutes to get. I inquired after I noticed another party receiving their order first--two of the same pizzas I had ordered--even though they arrived after us. The staff was so rude to me and told me I needed to wait my turn. Once I received the pizza, I asked if they had any pepper flakes. The girl there told me to check the barrel table where they keep them. I told her there was nothing there and she rolled her eyes and walked over there (clearly annoyed that I asked). There was nothing there and she bluntly told me I needed to find one at another table. Then she went back to being behind the counter (however, not at the register). To make matters worse, some of the crust was undercooked and the pizza didn't taste that great. What happened to this place? I really wanted to like this place. The building was cool. They had a decent variety of beers. It setup to be the type of spot I love... but the staff was just whack... I got there around 11:30 and was the first person inside - they opened at 11:00. They appeared confused by me being there. Then I stood while two employees ran around doing things, but never acknowledging me. I finally ordered a beer and sat down to work. The beer was decent. The second beer I had was also just decent. Nothing amazing. I will say the pizzas looked great, but I did not try one and cannot provide an opinion. I would give this place another shot when I am back in town and hopefully it was just a bad day, but if this is what the service is like all the time I cannot imagine it will survive. read more

Definitely a confusing spot, it seems like it's a brewery but it has very few beer options for being a brewery, and the prices for the beers are def not as cheap as a brewery, they also offer house made bread and a pretty large variety of them? Not sure if they're a bread or beer specialist, maybe they just specialize in things made with grains Either way, went in on a Saturday night, place was decently full but still places to sit down, plenty of board games and light music. Ordered a few drinks, some of which were great like the dark side of the pith, a triple stout with some citrus elements? And the blueberry wine. However the triple berry seltzer tasted very much like cough medicine and we didn't even take two sips of that. They also didn't offer flights because they didn't have enough glasses?(which sounds ridiculous for a BREWERY) The mushroom pizza was good, all the pizzas here are fresh baked I believe and you could definitely taste it. Super crisp and the flavor of the cheese and the squash was very pleasant although the pizza on the whole was a little on the drier side. However it did take like 30 minutes for us to get our pizza which we wish we were told about before we ordered, so that we can grab other food that'd be more quickly prepared in the meantime.. The soup of the day had some heat to it and the bread provided with it was toasted to a crisp and we also had some more butter we could spread on it along with an olive oil dip. I'd say it was decent. Overall I'd say it was an ok experience, the food we did get were great, but docked points for some disappointing beers, limited options, and how long it took for us to get our pizza and the lack of warning about the wait time. It seems like a good place if you wanna bring a couple friends, relax and chat with a few drinks and some appetizers, but if you really want to try a bunch of different beers or have a lot of food options, this is not the place. read more

If you're looking for a solid brewery with ample room, a great selection, and stellar customer service, Long Beach Beer Lab is a solid option. If you're a beer lover, they've got plenty of choices to select from. With a number of rotating taps, there's always something new to taste whether your a fan of IPA's or Blonde Ales. Their food menu isn't robust but it's definitely what you expect from a brewery. I will say, their Pizza is one of the better pies I've had from a brewery. Can't go wrong with a cool beer and pizza on a warm day. Also, they're dog friendly so feel free to bring the pups. They have some arcade games and even board games too and even host a trivia night from time to time. Overall it's a great experience and the customer service was excellent on a Saturday. read more

The beer flavors were enticing, but they were just not all that pleasant. The wine-inspired beers were quite tart, and the dark and roasty's were very dark! The Stout Ninja had all of the flavors present, was verry thick, and was just overall a little confusing to drink. Definitely tastes like an experiment of some sort! The Gracias was sour and left an odd aftertaste that I've never had before. My partner was already thinking of the next drink to get it over with. The Strawberry Dreamsicle was very sweet, but not overly sweet. Almost tasted like a seltzer! Overall, the pizza was my favorite part. The parking around the place was quite easy on a Sunday afternoon. The seating arrangement is quite open, but the tables next to the window are kind of close--we can hear others and they can hear us at normal volume. Would I come back? My parents live within walking distance of this place and when I saw them getting this place ready, I knew I'd put it on my list. Fast forward 2-ish years and I finally made it down to this place on foot. Beer: ordered two hazy IPA and liked them both. I'd definitely order again. 8/10 Pizza (ordered the veggie one): Amazing. We subbed red sauce bc bechemal isn't our thing, and it was legit 10/10 pizza oven pizza. Nothing was left when we were done with it. Perfect for two adults. I'd have liked more olives, but I always want more olives. #olivelover Outdoor seating was spaced and single file so you never interacted with anyone else. My kinda place. Bus your own table into the trash and bin, but they give mostly compostable plates, so it works out. They sell pastries and bread loaves and various nuts/croutons so you can buy some stuff to go and some beers from their case. They sell multiple types of fermented hot sauce that intrigued me. I dunno--might go back before we head back home to AZ. Definitely didn't expect such goodness for this part of Long Beach, but genuinely THRILLED to have eaten and had a beer there. So good. Highly recommend, sincerely two Hazy IPA lovers who literally seek out great beer joints all over the country. Stopped by on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. Parking along the street was easy to find as well. Plenty of seating, dog friendly, some arcade machines, and tons of fun board/card games to play with your group. Very chill place to catch up with friends or go on a date! Large beer menu, but unfortunately not a lot of non-beer options (which is understandable). I believe the only non-beer options were a seltzer and margs/frozen margs. Staff were helpful and patient with our many questions about menu, and let us sample some beers that we were interested in. Drinks were pretty good - we ordered two LB Blondes, a frozen marg, and a Winter Water seltzer. For food, our group of four ordered a Margherita pizza and a spicy mushrooms wild pizza to share. Heads up - your food will probably take a long time to come out, but we didn't really notice since we were playing card games. The Margherita was delicious, and was definitely the group favorite. The spicy mushrooms wild, on the other hand, wasn't very good. We ordered it because it looked unique, but the combination of flavors was just confusing. We had leftovers that we unfortunately tossed. They also host a lot of fun community events like trivia nights and yoga + beer! I'm torn on this review, because I think Long Beach Beer Lab is a solid 3.5 stars based on my visit, but I can't quite get to to giving them four stars although I plan to go back for takeout. Food: I had their Summer Margherita pizza. As a cheese pizza with basil pesto it was pretty good. It was not a true margherita pizza. Unlike the photo on their website menu, this pizza was not covered in slices of fresh mozzarella, but rather regular old shredded mozzarella. The tomatoes were good but unevenly distributed (three slices had none at all). If there was salt it was soaked into the grease of the cheese and certainly not noticeable. I wasn't sure if I would like the fancy crust but it won me over: it was light and pillowy on the inside with a good crunch on the outside. The crust had great flavor, but didn't hold up under the cheese. This was a tasty pie and I look forward to trying their others, as a margherita it just didn't wow with the fresh tomato and cheese I expect from that type of pie. The Cinnamon Brioche "Roll" was really nice. It's not the overwhelming sticky sweet concoction you're probably used to. In this version the sweetness of the cinnamon and icing are balanced by the brioche. The bread is light and fluffy and really the star of this show. It's also pretty easy to slice & share. Drinks: I went for lunch on a workday so alcohol was out (also I just don't like beer). Unfortunately they were having some trouble with their machinery so the only non-alcoholic drink options were cold brew coffee and water. They have Italian sodas on the menu but apparently there's only one employee who knows how to make them and she was off that day (I'm really confused about why only one person could mix sparkling water with syrup?) Please add some additional (pre-made) non-alcoholic beverages to the lineup! Ambiance: Eh. The inside had a vibe going and it worked. I appreciated the arrows on the floor for traffic control. This is an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place. There was plenty of outdoor seating (for small to large group sizes) when I visited at 3, about half of it full. There's not much that's nice to look at outside. They pump music outside and the seating very much has the feel of a raucous get together over drinks than a more intimate dining experience. If that's what you're looking for, you'll find it here. Overall: I'm more likely to swing by and grab some food to go rather than dine there again. Pizza is worth a visit and I'd like to get there earlier and see more of their pastries next time. read more

I find it a bit challenging to post a review as I think I need to go back again and give them a second chance to be fair. We tried couple of different beers and they were fantastic! saw many people with great looking pizza's in hand. However we went there thinking we are going to a brewery/bar, but it was more like a kindergarten. so many little kids running around occupying the pinball machines even when they were not playing them. Quite a few of them intrupted us while we were playing making us loose our concentration. just a huge mess of loud little kids running everywhere. Came home with a headache, but I should not hold the staff responsible for ignorant parents. I just wished there were more staff around to keep things organized and let the other patrons enjoy the place. Good news is for parents with little kids, you can enjoy amazing beer while your children are running around disturbing others. I had two little kids reaching out to the change machine and took some of my quarters. Another one hanging on my foot while I was playing, asking me if he cut in and play. Second time here. First time I only had beer and dessert. This time I tried their pizza and it was amazing. The crust was amazing. They have no meat toppings but it's ok. I live not too far from here so always wanted to check it out; finally came for Sen. Gonzalez luncheon. I arrived on my bike and was pleased to find there was bicycle parking in the front:) They have done an amazing job with the space in order to make breweries feel cool, homey, and welcoming to non-beer drinkers. There are two main sections, one for ordering food/drinks, and the other for seating. The entrance is on the main street of Willow, but steer away from parking on the street because it's sparse, rather park in the back where there are ample spots. I had a doughnut, Marg pizza, and a salad that surpassed my expectations for a brewery (I was expecting more bar food) and I'm grateful for it! However my food did take over 20 minutes to be made; I'm not sure if that's the norm or I was just an outlier. This space is easily transformable for any event you can imagine. Great place to hangout with friends, they have a ton of tables and provide board games. But the food and drinks were not the best. Got a pizza and house made root beer float. Their root beer was bad, they had no ice (which would have been great if they'd mentioned that to me that their ice machine was broken), which led to them giving me a very flavorless root beer - apparently this threw off their ratio? But they did fix it a little when I mentioned it to them, added a bit more of their root beer syrup, which made it taste better, but very lukewarm. The Wrigs lager is top tier and I find myself craving it a lot. I've had a few of the desserts they have and those have always been good quality snacks.
