For $1.25 more you can get a larger beer- and they are actually legit beers...not Budweiser or your run of the mill beers. Same goes for the pizza...not your average flavors. Make a it hard to choose. I went with Da green bird..it had vodka sauce..pesto and spicy sausage. Everyone working here are sooo nice and patient with all the questions we were asking. I had one slice of the Truffle Shuffle ($6 plus tax)...and PS, that's already the name of a pizza at Speak Cheezy, so you might want to switch it up. Tasted OLD! Sparse sauce, sparse cheese, and just a few mushroom slices as toppings. The only decent element was the crust! This is sadly one of those situations where you would be better off just heating up a quality frozen pizza. If the food would align with the vibe, I'd be happy to give it another try. Any Anna's joint is a winner in my book. On aesthetics alone it makes you want to come back. It feels inviting and homey as hell. Big windows, decor giving, and shows so much effort. Service is fast and very attentive to your needs. Hella family friendly really feels like a community pizza parlor. They have good deals like their March Madness deal and lunch specials. Menu has ice cream, plenty of wine/beer, pizza by the slice, & more than just pizza. Water and all that you'd need for your table easy to access. Pepperoni Pizza -- missing something. The hot honey flavor wasn't present at all. I liked the crisp on the pepperoni. Sauce flavor was yummy. It was really greasy tho. The crust was amazing just would be nice to have a little more char. With a bit more cheese and flavor on top it'd be a winner. I'd still order this again! Gochujang Honey-Butter -- they need to bottle this sauce asap! Y'all the flavor was phenomenal. One of the best flavors on a wing I've had!! The wing itself was so so small but the chicken was moist, great texture. Not enough to fill you on its own. Garlic Knots -- dough texture & softness is there! Flavor lacking. No garlic flavor at all mostly butter. I could see the cheese but didn't taste it. Loved the marinara sauce! Paid parking lots in the streets across from it. Parking can be tricky but that's just a Long Beach thing. Will be back to try all their slices, other wing flavors, and sandwiches (plus ice cream). Great lunch special and pizza by the slice. $10 lunch special includes two cheese slices and a drink or a cheese slice, salad, and a drink. Upgrade to a fancier slice for an additional $1. The cheese was a good NY style slice with just the right amount of chew to the crust. The rapini slice was a bit dry, it needed a little more than the dollops of ricotta to make it perfection. I'm looking forward to trying the other slices in the future, they're off to a great start and it's only their second day. Honestly, it wasn't bad. It's always interesting when pizzerias don't have garlic powder, salt, pepper, or oregano on the table, but that's something that California pizzerias all have in common - including Anna's. Out of all of the Long Beach shops, I'd say this is in the top five. Slices are small, and it is $4.50 for a plain cheese slice, which is genuinely insane but that's seemingly also commonplace in California. Would we stop by again? Yea I think so. read more

Had their two slice and a drink lunch special. They have perhaps 9 different pizzas available by the slice. Unfortunately, the only one that is a what I consider a normal pizza flavor was the plain cheese. Even the pepperoni was only available with hot honey. Nothing like plain old pepperoni or sausage and mushroom. I'm just not a fan of weird pizza. So I got two cheese slices. I was ok with that for a first visit as it is a good test for a new pizza joint, right? If they can't do the basics well, adding pineapple or truffles won't fix it. The lunch deal came with a drink. Available choices are from a particular row of cans in their drink refrigerator. I got a Dr. Brown's Diet Black Cherry. I would have preferred a proper soda fountain where I could mix lemonade and Diet Coke, my go-to concoction but no such luck. The pizza came quickly. But all I can say is that it reminded me of supermarket deli counter pizza. It was very salty, the cheese had very little taste, the sauce was nondescript, and the edge crust was floppy and soft. The service from the person who took our order was nice. But it went downhill...everyone who ordered after us got their order first. When we asked after noticing they didn't hurry up at all to fulfill our order. We were frustrated at this point because they checked on a table right next to us that came in after us asking them if they got their pizza yet after they had waited maybe 7 minutes. No one ever came to us, we had to flag someone down or go up to the front. When we asked for a second time they said it was because one of the two slices we had ordered wasn't available but that was clearly a lie because the table next to us (who ordered after us) had ordered the same pizza got it nearly 10 minutes before we initially asked them where our food was. Then they lost our order and couldn't figure out what the second slice was and questioned me if I really ordered two slices. There was no urgency to fix the problem when we brought it up when im just trying to eat lunch and get back to work. Once we got our food (just two slices of pizza that were on display in the front) after nearly 25 mins it was fine, but not amazing. I would try again but maybe after they work out some logistical/service training kinks. read more

2nd review: Had the St. Patrick's Day Special that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Pastrami, battered fried pickles, mustard and micro basil. This was legit the best pizza slice. All the flavors paired so well in just the right amount. Every bite was a delight of flavor explosion. Service is always great! Stopped in for opening day and everything was great. I got 2 slices and both were excellent. The vibes of the place were really cool. I love the branding and aesthetic. The employees were all very nice, especially Madison who came and checked on me and answered all my questions. The wings- the smallest I've ever had in my life. They were more like pigeon wings than chicken wings. For $14 you get 6 very tiny pieces of chicken and a they are definitely not shareable. We also ordered a small salad which was very tasty. I would come back but skip the wings for sure. It was also a a tad disappointing that they didn't have fountain drinks but not a deal breaker. Went to Anna's Pizza Joint in Belmont Shore for their grand opening. They advertised 50% off food and draft beer from 12-3 PM, which is part of the reason we came in for lunch. When we ordered our food and drinks and paid at the cashier, the discount was not applied. We didn't notice until after we left, which made it even more frustrating. It's really disappointing to support a new local business and have a clearly advertised promotion not honored... especially on opening day. read more
