They have $3 beer and $3 pizza slice specials that are such a great deal. Their New York-style pizza is delicious, and don't skip the frozen custard! Rowan recommended the Strawberry Shortcake flavor, and it was absolutely amazing. They even let me sample it first, which was a nice touch. I also didn't realize how incredible their wine selection is. If you remember when this location was Wine Beach, you'll love that they still have an amazing collection of local and discounted wines. We got the honey pepperoni, chicken bacon, and sausage pesto. Happy hour was $3 for NY slices and select beers. We got 3 big slices of pizza and 2 beers for less than $20 with tip. Cool merch too. Outdoor seating along side street and inside is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Wine selection is good. Street parking which can get a little crazy on 2nd street but it's worth it. We loved this little joint! New York style pizza in town is what the doctor ordered. Our first time and we can see why the locals (and their teens) come here. Pizza is crispy and chewy. Glad I finally got to try Anna's! I love NY pizza and their versions are really unique. I came for HH (until 5pm)- you order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. - $3 pizza and $3 beer. For $1.25 more you can get a larger beer- and they are actually legit beers...not Budweiser or your run of the mill beers. Same goes for the pizza...not your average flavors. I don't think 2nd Street has a solid pizza pick up spot and this might be it! Still in it's freshmen stages, Anna's Pizza Joint has both a sit down and pick up area. I was able to sit down and try 2 slices and a pint. Energy inside was lively and everyone was having fun. Service was great! They were able to tell me which pies were available by slice since I sat alone and didn't want a whole pie to myself. Both slices tasted great! The pint was refreshing and cold! My friend and I waited until 3pm for the $3 slice happy hour deal. We went in, got 3 slices and after we paid we realized that we were charged full price. The girl who took our order was nice but did not say anything about the deal and did not specify anything about for here or to-go. There is not a single sign, promoting the happy hour that says it is for dine-in only. Another woman walked up and I asked if it is currently happy hour. She said yes and I said, oh I think we were charged full price. She snarkily said, "oh did you get it to-go? When has there ever been a happy hour to-go?" Why so rude? We were being polite. I have seen many discounted food specials to-go and it literally makes no sense that it is $3 for a slice on a cardboard plate but full price in a cardboard box. It would be different if they alerted you that this was the case, considering it is 50% off and there is no logic behind it when you are only getting a couple slices. There is much better pizza on second st. Like colossus, domenicos, etc. Next time, if you need to go here, say to-go and take the paper plate out the door with you. read more

Any Anna's joint is a winner in my book. On aesthetics alone it makes you want to come back. It feels inviting and homey as hell. Big windows, decor giving, and shows so much effort. Service is fast and very attentive to your needs. Hella family friendly really feels like a community pizza parlor. They have good deals like their March Madness deal and lunch specials. Menu has ice cream, plenty of wine/beer, pizza by the slice, & more than just pizza. Water and all that you'd need for your table easy to access. Pepperoni Pizza -- missing something. The hot honey flavor wasn't present at all. I liked the crisp on the pepperoni. Sauce flavor was yummy. It was really greasy tho. The crust was amazing just would be nice to have a little more char. With a bit more cheese and flavor on top it'd be a winner. I'd still order this again! Gochujang Honey-Butter -- they need to bottle this sauce asap! Y'all the flavor was phenomenal. One of the best flavors on a wing I've had!! The wing itself was so so small but the chicken was moist, great texture. Not enough to fill you on its own. Garlic Knots -- dough texture & softness is there! Flavor lacking. No garlic flavor at all mostly butter. I could see the cheese but didn't taste it. Loved the marinara sauce! I've tried quite a bit of their menu and highly recommend the sticky garlic knots, meatballs, ripping rapini pizza, meatball sub, ranch, and the crispy chicken cutlet (extra sauce). Great lunch special and pizza by the slice. $10 lunch special includes two cheese slices and a drink or a cheese slice, salad, and a drink. Upgrade to a fancier slice for an additional $1. The cheese was a good NY style slice with just the right amount of chew to the crust. The rapini slice was a bit dry, it needed a little more than the dollops of ricotta to make it perfection. I came here for a father and son outing. We ordered a pepperoni slice and a cheese slice. I asked for it well done but it didnt come out well done lol. But it was still delicious. Nice to see a new option for pizza opening here. Pizza by the slice is nice option. We ordered garlic knots, caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. We wanted to try the Detroit style crust but unfortunately it wasn't available when we were there. The sodas are cans/bottles. The Sanzo Mango Sparkling water was kinda hefty at $4.50 for the can. When placing my order I asked if the garlic knots could come out early and was told yes they would. After finding a table and sitting I asked a server the same thing and was told she would check and make sure. Guess what happened? Yeah, the pizza came out and still no garlic knots. I told the server I was supposed to get the garlic knots first. I said now I don't need them with the pizza here. Caesar was good and small was good portion. Pizza was okay, too salty though, don't know if pepperoni or sauce contributed to that. After eating I spoke to the manager and asked for refund and was told I would. i really wanted to love anna's pizza joint since it's close to my house. i want to preface by saying the pizza was decent, we ordered 3 pizzas for a beach picnic, and they were all pretty good. that being said i am disappointed because for one of the pizzas (ricky roni- pepperoni and hot honey) we added burrata for $6, and they did not put it on. also, the pizza tasted like a plain pepperoni, if there was hot honey we did not taste it AT ALL, and for $30 for a pizza it was disappointing to not get what we ordered. it seems like the lunch special (2 slices and a drink for $10) and happy hour might be the move here and i will for sure try it again. i just had high hopes because i wanted to love it and it didn't meet those hopes. ;( for a premium whole pizza price (24-30$ per pizza) i would go somewhere else (like riip) read more

I had been to this pizza spot once before and really enjoyed it. The pizza was great, and I thought the restaurant had a cute atmosphere and a good vibe, so I was looking forward to coming back to dine in. On the Fourth of July, a couple of my girlfriends and I were walking around trying to escape the large crowds outside. I suggested we stop at Anna's to grab a beer, maybe order a pizza, and use the restroom while we figured out our next stop. When I walked in to ask for a table and see if there was a restroom available, I was immediately stopped by who I assume was the owner. He grabbed my arm and told me the dining room was closed, even though there were people inside seated and eating. I then asked if we could at least use the restroom, and he laughed, scoffed, and said, "That's exactly why the dining room is closed." I understand that it was a busy holiday and that businesses were likely dealing with large, rowdy crowds. I can appreciate that they may have been overwhelmed. However, the way I was treated was unnecessarily dismissive and unprofessional. Being laughed at while asking a simple question left a really bad impression, and having someone grab my arm made the interaction even more uncomfortable. Mind you, we were completely sober so we were very respectful of the business and trying to be mindful of the rowdyness outside so we just walked away and went to the next establishment however I do wish I would've said something in that moment. We ended up going to the business next door, where we were welcomed in, had a beer, and enjoyed the rest of our afternoon without any issues. It's disappointing because I genuinely wanted to support this restaurant after my first positive experience. Unfortunately, this interaction completely changed my perception. I understand not allowing public restroom access during a busy event, but treating potential customers with courtesy and respect should never be optional. read more

happy hours 3-5pm everyday. detroit style pizza only sold tues-thurs at 3pm. first off, standing ovation for the insane happy hour price (4 slices and 2 drinks came out to around $22!!!). the first thing that took me by surprise before looking at the menu was the space itself. with vibrant decor, mixed open spaces that blended indoor and outdoor seating, and a parrot mascot, everything felt so inviting and lively. the employees were super chill and friendly, even letting us get the happy hour because we unknowingly came a minute before happy hour ended. as for the pizzas, i ordered da' green bird and the ripping rapini. my favorite had to be da' green bird, especially because of the hint of tomato and creaminess from the vodka sauce. the ripping rapini was still a good contender but if you're not a huge fan of veggies, i wouldn't recommend this due to the rapini being the main focus of the pizza. the pizza dough was chewy but with a more glutinous texture and held its form throughout the entire meal (no sad pizza droop). they also have ice cream as well with unique flavors (there was vietnamese coffee one). overall, very good addition to long beach's food scene and i'm sure this place will continue to gain traction. read more

I had one slice of the Truffle Shuffle ($6 plus tax)...and PS, that's already the name of a pizza at Speak Cheezy, so you might want to switch it up. Tasted OLD! Sparse sauce, sparse cheese, and just a few mushroom slices as toppings. The only decent element was the crust! This is sadly one of those situations where you would be better off just heating up a quality frozen pizza. If the food would align with the vibe, I'd be happy to give it another try. Unfortunately, the only one that is a what I consider a normal pizza flavor was the plain cheese. Even the pepperoni was only available with hot honey.
