Nicely located one block from breach with bar/restaurant attached. 15 minute walk from train' or 5 minute taxi ride when it's 90+. Small but adequate rooms, except no mini fridge. Continental breakfast bar. Vending for drinks and snacks when they work.

They were packed so they seated us at the last 2 seats left at the bar near the host stand. There was an acoustic singer and guitar player adding to the energetic ambience. We were handed the place mats and menus upon seating. Then it took about 15 min to order a drink. Then another 25 min before we could place our food order. The female bartender was attentive to all the parties around us, and people who came in after us seemed to be a priority. The barback finally noticed us and helped us while he was also busting out drinks. He noticed we were trying to get her attention so he stepped in kindly and took our order. We ordered the Grilled Artichokes, the Burger, and Chicken Carbonara. (Wanted the Bolognese but someone had just ordered the last one by 8pm?!) She never checked in for a second round, so we didn't bother after about 20 min we gave up. The Artichokes came out about 20 min after ordering. They plopped them in front of us, no utensils or napkins. I had to ask the barback for some. The busser seemed disgruntled a said they only had forks. Had to flag someone else for napkins, and they brought us a pile of c-fold paper towels, when they usually have cloth napkins as we noticed with patrons who came in after us. My sis-in-law and I wolf down the 4 pieces of artichokes, using our fork and hands to cut into pieces (no knife). Then another 30 min before our mains come out. Couldn't even ask anyone for a food status update, so just tried to enjoy the live music and each other's company to distract from hunger pangs. The burger and carbonara finally show and looks great. The portions were generous. Fries were a little blonde and just underdone but seasoned enough. The carbonara was delicious as well, nice and al dente. We enjoyed our food and chatted. Music was on the louder side but for a Friday night at 8ish pm, that is not uncalled for. The restaurant started to end their rush and the bar emptied out a tad, but the service did not improve. Asked for the bill and to-go containers as soon as I could flag someone bc I knew it would take awhile to get them. Of course when getting the bill things progressed speedily, so we paid and tried to get out as soon as we were done. The staff there was hot and cold. Barback was helpful and everyone else seemed "annoyed" to have to help us with simple requests that shouldn't have to be requested to begin with. Again I understand rushes happen and staff can become overwhelmed. The bar team had to service the bar and some high tops nearby plus make drinks for the rest of the restaurant, so I understand the volume was high, but again the management team should plan accordingly to make sure the diners do not have to feel the lag in the service. Food was good but left a little disappointed from the service.

But out short rib ravioli came out all cold inside and out. We cut into Half of one and had to tell the server that it's cold . Then it was brought out steaming hot all great everything tasted good as well. When we got to the end of our ravioli the last piece was the one we cut into and still there . So I asked my server what do you think they did with our order. He said ofcourse they Cooked up a fresh batch!! I told him well they didn't . He looked shocked and said he told them To make a new order . He was nice enough to take them off the bill as well. But still make you wonder what they do in the back if they don't listen to their wait staff and didn't do something as simple as this or even trash the one ravioli and make one new one. The burgers were great, the Philly egg rolls were mushed up meat in an egg roll wrap . But definitely won't come back here after having this place bookmarked for like 4-5 years and finally made it but won't come back here again. Way too many good ones to try .

Bonus points for the live band that night, which gave the place a cool vibe. Service was quick and friendly, no complaints there. I went for the fish and chips... eh, definitely the frozen kind. Not terrible, just kind of "meh." My galpal ordered the stuffed crab meat shrimp and that one actually delivered--savory, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the table. Would I go out of my way to come back? Probably not. But if I'm in the area, I'd happily stop in again. Heads-up: they shut down at 9 PM, and they tack on a little upcharge if you pay with a credit card--so maybe bring some cash.

However, I need to point out that the service could be improved. It appears that waitstaff might benefit from extra training. They have great potential, but it's disappointing when the service isn't up to par. The food was adequate. Some of us received our orders quite late. They offered us desserts as compensation, which was a kind gesture. The waitress brought the dessert menu while we were still finishing our main courses, and it was pretty clear that the waitstaff seemed somewhat lazy. Maybe they're used to the busy summer months, but since it's winter and slower, I hope they focus more on improving the service in the future.

My family was the first table to be sat when they opened at 12, with a party of ten of us It took over 40 minutes to receive just our drinks alone, and appetizers didn't come out for almost an hour and a half. We were beyond confused what could be taking THAT long considering there wasn't really anyone there at that point. By the time the entrees came out, half of the orders were just straight up wrong, half the food being ice cold, and then forgetting my meal all together and i was the bride. Our waitress seemed all over the place, rarely coming to ever check on us. Took almost an hour to get the bill and the manager is trying to charge us for literally everything, knowing we sent back half the food ( which I've never in my 35 years of life EVER had to do ever ) and how upset we were. I'm not sure what's happening here because it's the only restaurant on the boardwalk, it's stunning inside, and when the food actually came out it wasn't half bad. If they really got their act together this place would be so great. But really would a horrible damper on me, my husband and our entire families day for such a special occasion :/

I had my son because he was on February break. Getting family babysitting which is free and the only way I can manage babysitting has been scarce lately with my sister having her third baby, my dad and my other sister having been putting all hands on deck to help her and I understand but it means I have to bring my 7 year old to stuff like this if I can. Another one of my girlfriends and the guy I'm hanging out with also came along to see the show. My son was happy, he had a huge pretzel, soda and mostly played on his phone at the end he laughed along with everyone else when the last comic came on to perform. He seemed to be a fan of the soda, and the pretzel and playing on his phone. I got the charcuterie board. It was half and half. The crackers they served the cheese with was okay, I liked the nuts, I liked one of the cheese selections, the dried fruit was good. I ended up sharing it. I've heard there is karaoke here, I like the atmosphere and maybe one day I'll get here for the karaoke.

The one star is for cider on tap and fast hot curry fries after a long day on the beach. Today, however, there were a bunch of unattended kids running around and playing with a ball to the extent where it became very annoying and stressful. They also kept knocking on the occupied bathroom doors (their play area). When I finally said something about it, I was angrily confronted by a man at the bar who informed me that they were "actually the bartenders kids". Great. One of the kids proceeded to go behind the bar (?!) and give me dirty looks. It was bizarre. The mom also tried to give me a stare down when she finally decided to take her 7 kids and go home at 8pm. Don't let your kids raise helll in a bar and use the excuse that the bartender is their Dad. I didn't pay 40$ for 2 ciders and some fries to hang out in a playground then get abused by someone else's husband. Go literally anywhere else.
