Longbeach Hotel was a horrible experience for me and my family. The first day we arrived it was a Thursday evening. I wanted to take a nice bath but the water in the tub and shower was so dirty I mean DIRTy, then the cable was not connected. The staff was unhelpful and seemed uninterested in resolving our issues. When we reported the dirty water, they simply shrugged and said it was a temporary problem without offering any immediate solution. I complained to the receptionist that was on duty, she was like that because we are on the beach, I asked for a towel and some scrub to clean the tub this part amazed me, oh there is no one here right now they left for the night, I was like can I get extra towels she said they are gone for the night. This unfortunate start put a damper on our entire vacation, making it difficult to relax and enjoy our time away. We found ourselves constantly dealing with inconveniences rather than unwinding and making memories as a family. I was very upset and started packing my things to go back home which I did. The next day I spoke to the manager and he tried to make it better with an upgrade. I told him I was not impressed and that I would be giving them a bad review. I felt that this was an unacceptable way to treat customers and I was unwilling to accept his apology. I felt it was more important to stand up for myself and share my experience of this terrible customer service with as many people as possible. Long Beach hotel is not a clean place to be if you are on vacation. The rooms are not well kept up, holes in the floor, beds on the beds look like they were in water and the stains at the bottom, just made me so sick. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I was also disappointed with the customer service, which was unhelpful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean place to stay. read more

Sleep under the boardwalk you'll be a lot happier! 1)showed up for early check in with wife and kids, opened up room to find another person in there, thankfully he was fully clothed! Had an event we needed to be at in less then two ours, they put us in a studio to get changed while out "Junior suite" was being prepared. Stains on the carpet, was afraid to touch anything. 2) At least half if not more of this building is occupied by low income/section 8 housing. Come on LB, are you a hotel or not?! Why go half ass? The recorded message is such BS! I knew this place when it was the Jackson a hotel that only catered to Orthodox Jewish people, it was a dump then and a fresh coat of paint hasn't improved it much. 3)the garbages in lobby were overflowing, the ones in the woman's bathroom had tissues with bloodstains falling out, my wife had to explain to daughter why the tissues were a "different color". After 40 minutes I called down to ask if our room was ready, was told it would take 35 and the woman curtly told me it would be another 45 minutes, that they were busy with other rooms that take priority...well that got me heated!! There was no discounts made, no sincere apologies from someone representing managerial authority. Needless to say they put us in a tiny room far from a "Junior suite", we slept with all our clothes on hoping we wouldn't leave their with bedbugs. There were buckets in the lobby from rain leaking in, and forget about anyone adhering to the clearly posted "no smoking" sign out front, clouds of smoke wafting into our children's faces like this was 1983 and The Marlboro Man was still a cool guy! Lastly upon check out I found out that our room was never checked in it was still slated to be cleaned, so at anytime through the night the staff could have walked in on myself and family! Worst hotel experience ever. Don't stay here...unless you have no self-respect. One Pillow case had a quarter size hole, another had a dried bugger on it, and the bed sheet had a black smudge. The day manager agreed to have the sheets changed, and didn't. When I returned at 11:45 pm, they told me, there was no one available that knew how to make a bed, and that i should remake it myself. I was furious and requested my room rate be reduced to compensate me. The manager told me, "Why should I do that? You can leave." I should have left. Don't go here. It's generally filthy. Hallway was filthy never vacuumed, one room had dirty plates or in front of it for 2 days. We left. read more

I have never written a review before but felt like if I had to write one, it would be about Long Beach Hotel. This place is a complete disaster. Don't stay here save your time & money. The room we got looked nothing like in the pictures. Complete false advertisement. When we checked in the receptionist told us that this was the only room available at this time and that it didn't have certain things we requested originally which is understandable but the room we got stuck with is not okay. The door didn't even fully close and had a crack in it. We stayed there a few hours (after being told it's the only room available) which we stayed up the whole time trying to find a last minute hotel online because we couldn't fall asleep with all these roaches crawling on the walls. There were white sandpaper like crumbs all over the sheets. Then on top of this I found a dried up roach and almost stepped on it so I'm not understanding how the room was cleaned before we got there or when was it last cleaned for that matter. The bathroom had so much dust everywhere I couldn't even shower in this bathroom. It was a holiday weekend & all the hotels were booked up we finally found one and had to pay $600 for which should of been avoided had these rooms been properly advertised. When checking out a few hours after the stay, we told them due to the circumstances we are not able to stay in this room any longer the last thing we needed was to bring these bugs home. We cancelled the rest of our stay. The lady was not apologetic regarding this situation & acted as if it was a normal part of the stay in this hotel. She did nothing to help the issue and just said that the manger will be calling us to further discuss the issue. The manager never called. We called several times after and have never received a phone call and got charged for days we didn't even stay there. This place deserves to be shut down. Such a traumatizing experience. read more

I had a confirmed reservation through Booking.com for this hotel and arrived at 8 pm. The hotel ( and staff Erika ) refused to honor it as they said Booking didn't send it, although we had a confirmation email. Erika refused to help us locate another hotel for the night , wouldn't speak to Booking.com on our behalf and didn't care that we had no accommodations for the night . For the location you would this would be a four-star hotel that is the opposite for the Long beach hotel. This place has so much potential if they spend more money on the decor and hire more staff this place would be top of the line. From Thursday to Sunday, they are overwhelmed and their polices are terrible they don't have fridges in their rooms and the ice machine situation is crazy. This hotel stay was ABSOLUTELY awful I don't even know where to begin . I am reading positive reviews and I just can't believe it's the same place . The hotel which is a stretch more like a cheap motel is DIRTY . Disgustingly dirty , the rooms are small and outdated not to mention the awful smell of the carpets in the hallway which smell like they use the dirty discarded cigarettes to clean . It took a very long time to check in and the bar which we were told would be open after our event was closed the whole time before and after on New Years Eve . The staff was rude and unprofessional you actually don't even know who works there because they don't wear any type of uniform which is confusing as well as dangerous . Literally the grossest hotel I've stayed in. You don't think it would be by the lobby and outside of it... but If I could give 0 stars I would. They charged us three times when I stayed for one night. I wouldn't trust my card info there ever again. I keep calling to get the charges taken care of and refunded but they keep telling me they only see it charged once... not one to write a bad review like this but what else am I going to do when they are no help to me. My bank is handling it now but it was just so inconvenient and annoying considering it was gross and there were flies and then this on top of it.. def worth the extra money to stay at the allegria or even just get an Airbnb. *** ugh and I really wish I read the reviews before I stayed here I feel like I need to burn everything I came there with now read more

I was attending my older brother's funeral on April 30th. Due to a series of weather-related flight delays, I arrived at JFK after midnight. My younger brother met me at JFK and drove me to the Long Beach Hotel. When the desk clerk, whose name I can not recall, assured me that a room was reserved for me, my brother left me at the hotel and returned to his home. The on-duty desk clerk checked me in and handed me an electronic key to my room, I believe room 201. I rode the ancient, rickety elevator that could barely accommodate 1 adult with luggage, to the 2nd floor and proceeded to attempt to unlock the door to room 201. It would not unlock, so I rode the elevator back down to the lobby and advised the desk clerk that the electronic key would not unlock the door to room 201. He made some adjustment to the electronic key and suggested that I return to room 201, via the elevator, and that he would meet me there with the electronic key. Some 15 minutes later, he appeared with the electronic key but the key, once again, failed to unlock the door to room 201. The clerk suggested that I wait on the 2nd floor, and that he would return with a "standard" non-electronic key to room 201. Again, I waited approximately 15 minutes, and the clerk finally arrived with a standard key. As he was unsuccessfully attempting to unlock the door to room 201 with the standard key, a female voice, from within room 201, screamed "who the hell is trying to open my door?". The clerk and I were startled, and he suggested that I wait at the elevator, and he would find me a different room. For a third time, I waited for approximately 15 minutes and he, once again, came up the stairs and said we were going to the 3rd floor. He led me to room 301 which, upon the door being opened, I panicked because the room was filthy. Sections of paint had fallen off the walls and were strewn across the floor, the windowsill had dust deep enough in which to write one's name, the closet had no hangers, there was no bar of soap and no glass with which to take one's medications or rinse after brushing one's teeth. The only flat surface on which I could write my brother's eulogy was the cover over the old radiator (photos attached.) I objected but was advised that, admittedly, this was one of their "smaller rooms" but there was nothing else available. I challenged the statement that this was a room at all and that it was barely larger than a closet. However, given that it was already past 1:00AM, and with no car at my disposal, I Had no choice but to spend 1 night. I requested some hangers, a bar of soap and a drinking glass. The clerk assured me he would bring those to me shortly. After several repeated calls to the desk, I was brought 2 hangers at approximately 2:00AM. I continued to call the desk several times, at approximately 10-15-minute intervals, requesting the soap and glass but, at close to 3:00 AM, was advised that none could be found, and that "housekeeping" was closed for the night and would reopen at 8:00AM. At 5:00AM, I packed my belongings, dressed, and prepared to leave once my younger brother arrived at 9:30AM. I phoned the front desk and inquired about the soap and glass and was advised that housekeeping would not open until 9:00AM. At approximately 9:30 AM. Paid 1175.00 for July 1 - July 5 Website says free parking. Not so. $25.00 a day. Only free if you can find parking on the street, being it is the boardwalk and beach, you can drive around for hour or longer to find a spot. Then worry you car will not get damaged unless in an actual parking spot. The place houses homeless, and some not the decent kind. The place itself is filthy, however the maid service tries their best. The manager is not friendly at all. However, he is knowledgeable about the hotel and area. Lets say he picks and chooses who he wants to be friendly with. Has an attitude with the customer. I was coming and going and since there were strange people living in the hotel took my bags with me. I came in Tuesday, my check out day Wednesday only to find 2 men in my room. Thank God I took my things!!! Went to desk and had an attitude with me about being upset someone in my room! WTH?! Said maid service said room was un occupied. I said sir you have seen me every day and evening. I left something in bathroom and had to clean up the dirty towels etc. Since when does maid service come in at night? How what that even be an excuse? Then he says to me, we have you in computer until the 3rd. Another lie! And he was annoyed with me?! (got another hotel room in Rockville Centre to sleep at night. Used the other room to shower and change for workout on boardwalk and use beach. Because I was afraid to sleep there. You want beach chair and umbrella, $15 bucks each for the day. No water in room. Nickel and dimed to death there. As well as the resturant/bar staff. Also not friendly, unless your a local. Which I was for 25 years! What a disgrace that the paying customer is treated worse then the mentally unstable section 8 they have living there. Hence, why I left NY. I could have stayed at the Alegria. Lobby looks pretty from a far but look close and you will not believe how dirty this place is...when was the last time they dusted. The hallways are so dirty and the carpet should have been replaced...yesterday. Room was small and the door to our bathroom wouldn't close all the way so forget privacy. Last, but most important, we walked out the door this morning to a 3 inch roach in the hallway ( my husband said he has not seen one that big since he lived in Hawaii), he killed it! Disgusting! Was going to eat breakfast there but lost out appetite and checked out right away. The fact that this establishment has more than 1 star is appalling. I had a one night stay at this "hotel" and it was entirely 1 night too many. I booked 3 rooms at the Long Beach Hotel for a family member's wedding. Originally the rooms were booked in 2019 for a 2020 wedding date, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was moved to 2021. When canceling the original reservation, no one at the front desk offered to move the reservation to the following year, which would've saved some hassle but in the long run was not a huge issue. We rebooked the rooms a few months before the new date in 2021 and everything was fine. The week of the wedding was when ALL of the issues began. I had called the front desk to ask various questions (parking, adjoining rooms, early check-in, etc.) on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of that week. Each call, whoever answered the phone at the front desk pulled up my reservations and provided me with the information I asked for. Then Thursday came. At 6:30 PM, I received a call informing me that one of the rooms I reserved (King Suite with 2 Twin Beds) had been renovated during the pandemic "due to not being able to have so many people in the same space" so the area with the 2 twin beds had been renovated to a closet. First problem with this is that the reason for renovation is a total LIE. If individuals are part of the same group or reservation, they are able to be in the same space - the number of people is irrelevant at that point. Second problem was that I was told this information 2 days before my arrival. If this renovation happened during the 2020 pandemic, why was I not informed when I made the new reservation in 2021 or at any reasonable point before my reservation? To accommodate all the people in my party, I had to book an additional room. The manager informed me that it wouldn't be more money over the phone, so I felt this was a simple fix. Then the day of check-in came. If you've read this far, get ready for your blood to start boiling. I went to the front desk to check-in. The teenage front desk attendant (wearing a backwards cap, just to paint a picture) pulled up my reservation and told me that I needed to pay for the additional room added to my reservation! The one that needed to be booked because they renovated a room and told no one!! For the record, their website still lists the room as having 3 beds. Not only that, their parking lot (which you have to pay additional for) was filled, and there were no more spots. How do you have a parking lot and have it filled before your hotel check-in?! The only option is street parking - in a beach town - on a Saturday afternoon. Then after arguing with the front desk, the manager and his teenage assistant manager brought us into their office and tried to explain that I was getting a deal on the additional room because we got a wedding rate and weren't paying the full weekend price. They wouldn't even acknowledge that the reason we needed the room was due to their negligence! They blamed everything else under the sun for why we had to pay and why we had no parking. They even blamed the bride and groom for the parking situation and said the bride and groom didn't put enough rooms in their block and the hotel was being gracious by offering the rate beyond the "deadline date" in the contract. It was like arguing with a 5-year old that doesn't want to admit they did something wrong. On top of all of this, I received an email that morning stating that the parking lot rate would be $20 instead of $25. They wouldn't even honor the $20 price in THEIR email. They claim it was sent out by mistake. How does a business that fully relies on customer service let their customers pay (quite literally) for their growing list of mistakes?! There was no resolution for the room after an hour of arguing, so we were forced to stay due to the wedding (I had come from out of state otherwise, I would've checked out). Then came the rooms. Oh my god. I've seen barns better cleaned and stocked!!! Only 1 of the 4 rooms in my reservation had soap, some were missing towels, others had AC units that didn't work, and one had the biggest dust bunny I've ever seen!! One of the rooms even had holes in the ceiling!! Disgusting doesn't fully describe the state of these rooms. I was honestly nervous about sleeping because who knows what kind of bugs could have been crawling around. Long story short, this place is unprofessional, dirty, and all-around a total and a complete waste of money. My daughter was married on the beach and held a cocktail party for her at this hotel. We dealt with Aaron. Found him incompetent, unprofessional and uncaring. Couldn't get him to do a simple thing like print a detailed receipt. the bartender called my daughter trying to extort more money saying we didn't pay for soft drinks. food Wasn't ready when we arrived. Manager claimed we didn't order deserts when we did. Aaron didn't add it to the lousy receipt. after Paying for everything including their "administrative fees " they had the nerve to tell us tips weren't included. Stay away from this place. Not sure about the other bad reviews, but my stay at the Long Beach Hotel was great. Andrew was awesome. He was professional, courteous, and addressed all my concerns. Thomas and Josh were great as well. They were both professional and courteous too. Location of this hotel is perfect, near the beach and some good places to eat nearby. I stayed here for one night in the summer. I've been meaning to write this review, but life gets in the way. Although this hotel was in the beach, it was not worth the money (almost $400 for one night) that I spent to stay there. First of all, they canceled my reservation the day of the reservation because I made it in booking.con and the hotel said they didn't have enough rooms. Matt was less than helpful and borderline rude. I was offered a free stay for one of the next 3 days. But I needed it that night so that didn't help me. A friend that was having a party at the hotel called and spoke to Kelly. Kelly was sweet and very helpful and was able to get me a room which was "upgraded". The upgrade was a queen to a king which was really just 2 twin beds pushed together. You could feel the separation on the bed and also see that there were 2 separate twin headboards on the wall. Still, Kelly was very nice and helpful, much better than Matt. The room was tiny and very basic. There were a few ladybugs on the wall. The room phone was in a dresser drawer and not plugged into anything. The sink in the bathroom was coming out of the wall. The fire safety instructions were ridiculous (2 different scenarios, one saying to stay in the room and use the hotel phone to call the desk). I wouldn't stay here again or recommend this place. So I travel for work and stay in over 100 hotels yearly around the east coast. This one is one of the worst ever!!!! Definitely stay here of you like old shady hotels. Watch out for bugs and make sure to get sick off the food. Front desk manager is a 20 year old with no social skills or customer service skills. Booked a room here at a discounted rate and they wouldn't honor and wanted to charge well over double because it's in season. Asked to speak with the manager and got .. I am the manager and we wont be doing anything. Dont reccomend this hotel unless you like rooming with all the crazies and section 8s that reside their. This hotel accommodates to free housing so the whole building smells like Marijuana. The rooms/bathrooms floors beds furniture are DISCUSTING. The soaps and shampoos are community bottled, nothing is brand new. The website is a total scam from what they advertise to what it actually is. Overall worst hotel I've ever stayed at, thank God we didn't have the kids. We where attending a wedding and every single person who used this hotel to stay at was 100% completely furious about their rooms. The Long Beach Hotel is advertised to be a nice, clean and friendly place for guests charging over $250 a night. When we get there, the place is very dirty and uninviting. Our room had a dirty towel on the floor, with a sticky puddle of who-knows-what on the bedside table with a mound of hair in it. Normally, I wouldn't make a big deal about this but considering that it's a pandemic, this hotel is liable for being extra clean & cautious to help not spread the virus. In addition to the uncleanliness, there was a man in the room next door (the walls were paper thin) passed out drunk blaring Jeopardy at a very obnoxious volume. We knocked on his door several times to turn the tv down, but he would not answer. My partner and I finally went downstairs to complain. The man at the front desk apologized about the dirty room and said that he had no authority to change rooms for us and that we would have to wait until the following morning to change rooms or get a refund from the manager. He did make several phone calls to the room next door trying to wake up the man blaring his tv, but did not get through. He had to pound on the door several times just to wake the guy up. He did get the guy to turn his tv down, but once he was up he was coughing & using the toilet every 10 minutes. We could hear EVERYTHING. The man continued to make strange phone calls which seemed to be with "clients". It felt like we were in a halfway house with a pimp next door. No joke. We got absolutely no sleep. The next morning, we wait in line with other dissatisfied guests, also hoping to get their money back from similar experiences. The manager was not there. It was a young 18 year old kid working the front desk (poor guy) dealing with everyone's complaints.  The best he could do was switch our rooms as he also didn't have the authority to give us a refund. This new room also seemed that it didn't get properly cleaned- there was a dead cockroach on our floor and another wet/used towel in the bathroom. Also, there was a barking dog next store (but nobody with the dog in the room) for hours. There was also a wedding party that night raging and breaking things. No one at the front desk could help us, still. We were told once again to come back the following morning to speak with the manager. We left that second night to go stay with my cousin on their couch a few miles away just to get some sleep. The next morning we went back to the hotel to speak with the manager. AGAIN, no manager on site. The poor kid at the front desk couldn't help us and there was another line with guests complaining about their experiences. This hotel should not be legal. read more

The room was clean and it was 1 block from the beach so that's the 2 stars. The Windows did not open the a.c. was a little weak. The bathroom was a mess, knees hit the pipe chase when using the toilet, the shower head was so high I could barely reach it,no place to put shampoo in shower,stall was small when you bend over to pick up soap shampoo ect. off floor head hits one side butt hits other. The bed was hard did not sleep well. TV channels sucked. Possibky the most overpriced, run-down establishment that exists. Room is so tiny, with single overhead light (no lamp?!?) and a single bedside table. Initial room- no outlets worked. moved rooms- second room was functional but so loud due to adjoining door that did not seal (you could see light all around it) and we could hear everything in the bedroom and bathroom next to us. Upon entering the hotel there was a distinct aroma reminiscent of bathroom freshener. This was to cover up the musty smell. The hotel was old and issues related to the age of the hotel were tolerable , but the horrible service, lack of service was not tolerable . Anything asked for generated a "no". We had equipment that needed to be stored and they would not offer any place to store the equipment. I needed help taking the equipment from the curb to the hotel- again they would not help. Using the antiquated 2 person elevator was a challenge and again they provided no help as I struggled to move all equipment to my room. The feeling I received was that I was there for them ( hotel ). If you want a room only it is a marginal hotel . If you expect to have any level of service go somewhere else. read more

Very disappointed as Delta cancelled our flight due to crew availability. We would not be arriving in New York on the day I had reserved. I immediately called The Long Beach Hotel and was told they would not refund our hotel stay. I was charged $296 and have never stepped foot in the place. Beware, very unaccommodating. read more

This is right by the water, and I was planning on spending out of my time out doors, so it is well suited for that. If you're looking for even the basic amenities (TV, WiFi) then you will be disappointed. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful in my interactions, and my room was clean and comfortable. It's ok, but they really should get their TV and WiFi sorted out. read more

The hotel itself is a nice getaway from the city noise. A walk up if the elevator is down and they are still working out a few kinks but the staff was incredible, polite and helpful. The room itself was just fine. Not too big but perfect for a couple visiting for the weekend or longer. One thing I would have loved is a mirror. There wasn't one in the room or bathroom. Luckily, there is a bathroom is the lobby with large mirrors. The restaurant is a bit of a ghost town but the food is absolutely delicious! The pulled short rib pasta is jaw-dropping good. The mahi mahi is stellar. I really hope they attract more guests to boost the sweetness of this place. The location is killer, too! A 2-minute walk from the beach and they rent out chairs and umbrellas for cheap. Also good to note, this hotel is infinitely less expensive than the neighboring hotel down the way and I was able to book the same week of my trip. Check it out - its worth it. Okay....let's start with the positives. We actually had a good experience with the front desk and bar staff. They were courteous and friendly and that's a plus. Also, the bed itself wasn't uncomfortable. That's it. Be advised that this "hotel" has zero amenities. No ice bucket, no cups, no mini fridge, no central AC, not even a Tylenol behind the desk, nothing extra. To say the hotel is dated (with cracked tiles, shabby rooms, peeling paint in the common areas) is an understatement at best. And NOISY. Apparently, only one employee knows how to make a cup of coffee in the morning and he wasn't in....unacceptable. Finally, we were erroneously charged an extra $50 upon check out and now we are being told it will take 8-12 days for the mistake to be corrected. Listen, if you're looking for a place to crash in Long Beach because you don't want to drive after a night of drinking (still cheaper than a DWI at $300 a night), then this is the spot for you. Otherwise, SKIP SKIP SKIP. Update...they just charged my card another $273. Stay away from this place. read more

We had our wedding in October at the Loft and were looking for accommodations that were close to both the venue and beach. Originally we looked at the Allegria... prices are ridiculous for the rooms offered and time of year so we switched gears and found the Long Beach Hotel. The front desk was so helpful with our room blocks and all the guest said how nice the staff was when they checked in. My highlight was paying a small fee ( $250) to have the bar stay open after our wedding for an after party. Erica not only got this done for us last minute- literally the day of- but she also stopped by that night and even the next morning brunch to check on us. Erica, you are awesome! Brunch is also cool. We purchased vouchers for $15 each for our welcome bags and our guests loved the food! Why only 4 stars? The rooms need a bit more cleaning.. not the worst I've seen but it could be better. That being said, I would pick the LBH any day over the Allegria. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. The worst customer service experience I've ever had. I wish I had read the yelp reviews before booking this trip. Dark, wet, cold room with paper thin walls (yes, you hear everything), cable connection so crappy it deteriorates if you try to switch from Food Network, scratchy sheets, and not even a full set of pillows for 2 adults (after requesting a pillow, was told housekeeping was closed and I could wait till tomorrow - spoiler, housekeeping never came). If it was a hostel charging $90 a night, I'd maybe understand. But the quality was well, well below the mark for $200 a night. I spent 12 hours trying to get some sort of refund when canceling the last night of my stay (this included several phone calls that didn't get picked up or sent to voice message machine; multiple emails; countless trips downstairs to the front desk). I was told that they couldn't get hold of the manager but they would have an answer for me by 10 pm. At 10 pm, I was told "I can cancel the last night of your stay no problem but it is RARE that you would get a refund so I wouldn't count on it." Of course I can check out early (I can just give you the keys) - you're not helping me there, I needed information about the cancellation policy which they don't have online anywhere. I booked my stay with hotels.com and a rep from hotels.com called the hotel staff on my behalf asking for some sort of refund - and Long Beach refused to do anything. We decided to eat the $200 and hand in our keys a day early because it was not worth it trying to get any info or communication from these scammy people. My stay was abysmal and I regret spending any time or money at Long Beach Hotel. read more
