I am submitting this review after choosing to not use Long Home due to their sales process. I reached out through a form expressing that I was interested in a bathroom remodel primarily to address outdated plumbing. Throughout the entire process I was clear that was my first priority, and would be happy to just replace the floor and plumbing without touching the bath/shower if possible. Long Home was quick to get someone out for a quote, and very communicative. However, our sales person was disingenuous and dismissive of our interests. I reiterated my goals for the project through the entire 90+ minute estimate, as well as sharing that I had another quote and was looking at different options so cost and flexibility were the main decision factors. In response to this, he promised to give us the best price up front, instead of the "rigmarole" of calling his manager to negotiate. Despite this, after giving us a quote and payment plan written on notebook paper, and us reiterating again that this was out of our price range and were looking for more flexibility on the project, he called his project manager in front of us for what seemed like a staged call. Unless his manager was sharing his screen and had all of the specs in front of him, I'm not quite sure how he would be able to give a detailed quote based on the Sales Rep's description of my "beautiful row home, beautiful wife" and other general descriptions of the situation. After we declined to commit on the spot again, he seemed to get upset and told us we just needed to go with a contractor, because no company would give us a better deal. He also explained all about how he couldn't take the risk of letting us think about it, because nobody ever calls back. I understand all that from a business perspective, but what consumer wants to commit on the spot based on a scribbled out quote with an unreal on-the-spot discount without understanding anything about the breakdown of materials or labor?!? We did not receive a quote for our higher locked-in-for-one-year price in writing afterwards. After this, I received a call and new quote from a Quality Assurance manager, which turned out to be JUST a shower reno, which I had repeatedly stated was my lowest priority. I figured a QA person would want to hear feedback, so I called to let them know we would not be moving forward, and shared generally that I felt the process could be more transparent and that I was disappointed. In return, I got "Thanks for your feedback, goodbye." With the exception of the end of our sales pitch, nobody was outright rude. But throughout the entire process, we could tell we were just a sale, not a partner in the renovation. read more

Some years ago we replaced all our windows through Long Home at great expense, counting on their lifetime guarantee and assurances of high quality. It is nearly impossible to get a call back when we reach out for window repair or replacement due to defects. It took years to get them out at one point after multiple arrangements. Then last year they replaced a few, came back to replace more after multiple calls, then they broke a repaired window and scheduled to replace that one, replaced it and the new one broke (even worse the second time) and we've called but again no call back. Every time I have to call and call and wait. We're all busy, right? So if they could just do their job and call me back to arrange replacement, it wouldn't be so embarrassing to have their windows. And, while the panes are likely better than the originals, they are drafty, cold air coming through where the top meets the bottom. I expect when we pay tens of thousands of dollars to a company, they should do better. read more

Long Home Products installed a shingled roof on my home that is still under warranty. For over 15 months, I have reported multiple active leaks over my Bay Window and repeatedly requested warranty repairs. Despite several inspections by Long representatives, repairs were never scheduled, inspection reports were not provided, and the leaks remained unresolved, allowing water to continue entering my home. Long eventually agreed to perform a repair only if I signed an addendum stating the work would be "not warrantable" and shifting liability away from the company. Requiring a homeowner to sign an addendum in order to receive warranty repairs is not consistent with normal roofing industry practices. Long has also attempted to blame an intersecting flat roof for the leaks, despite failing to disclose any alleged negative slope at the time of installation and despite earlier inspections identifying cracked and wet shingles installed by Long. Independent roofing contractors have confirmed the leaks originate in areas covered by Long-installed shingles. Rather than addressing these defects under the warranty, Long delayed repairs and attempted to limit responsibility through paperwork. This has been a frustrating and stressful experience with ongoing water intrusion and concerns about further damage. I would caution homeowners to carefully review warranty terms and document everything. read more

A representative from Long Homes was supposed to be at our house at 6pm. He had not shown up, so at 6:10pm, my husband called the company. a few minutes later, the representative showed up. While discussing the job, he received a text from the company, reprimanding him for his tardiness. Needless to say, he was not happy about the fact that my husband had called the company to ask if the representative was going to show up or not. The price quoted for a tub-to-shower conversion was way higher than the advertised price. Consequently, my husband declined the opportunity to have Long Homes do this job. The representative kept pushing the issue, trying to get my husband to change his mind. My husband asked the representative to leave. The guy called my husband a "DICKHEAD" and stormed out! He inadvertently left his tape measure on our couch and continuously rang the bell and rapped on our front door until my husband (who is handicapped) retrieved the tape measure and, threw it out the door! The representative was irresponsible by showing up late to begin with. He was immature and rude and showed a lack of respect towards customers! I would never recommend this company!!! read more

Got a new roof and everything is fine. My concern is over the deceptive practices of the installation crew. The issue is with the gutter guards. We were told they should be removed prior to there doing the installation, but not to worry they could remove them for us. That's what happened. The roofing was completed while I was out of town, and I returned to a new roof and the gutter guards back in place along the front of the house/porch roof (where I could see them from 2nd story windows). I assumed they had been replaced along the back of the house as well. I was wrong. When I finally went up a ladder I found that only 4 of the gutter guards had been replaced along the back of the house. When I complained, I was told that contractually they were not obligated to put back the gutter guards. I have questions. If there was no obligation to put back the gutter guards, why did you put any of them back? In particular, why did you put them back where I could see them? Wouldn't a reasonable person conclude that they had been replaced all around? So, you didn't put them back on the back of the house. Where are they? Worst experience ever. I'm instantly depressed EVERY time I walk into the bathroom. The SALESPEOPLE promise work that their INSTALLATION WORKERS are not qualified to do. Additionally, the workers are not provided with the adequate materials to even attempt to complete the job correctly. Let's talk Warranty! If a situation arises like a crack, you can contact this company several times spanning several months (5+ so far for me) to speak to a very "nice and concerned" CUSTOMER SERVICE REP that promises they well personally see to it that you receive a call and that your concerns will be addressed... Crickets! Nobody will ever call you back. All this equates to horrible "MANAGEMENT and OWNERS" only concerned with getting your money $$$$. Worst mistake ever. They should stick to building fences. We contacted Long Bath for a quote and a possible project to install a small corner shower with 1 glass wall in a very small bathroom , by the way the bathroom was older but completely functionable. We chose the items that would replace everything. They quickly took our $1300 deposit and told us they would let us know when they would be coming for installation. We did state to them We wanted it done as soon as possible. However, 6 weeks, almost to the day of the deposit being taken. We did not hear back from them until we called Then we heard they couldn't get the product.Sorry about that and we'll refund your money Very unprofessional they didn't even try to make a sale from us not to mention the original price of a shower stall with one piece of glass a new basin bottom and a unit that would fit in one place instead of tile , $19,000.00 dollars Which we definitely thought was very high.Seeing as we just redid our medium-sized kitchen with everything. New tile, new appliances , new lighting fixtures and that was only $38,500.00 The sales person did a few maneuvers on her tablet, got it down to $14,000.00 We agreed to the installation and waited for 6 weeks . we did not heard from them until we contacted them .We could have had it done by now from another company.I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone and I will spread the word.We're honest hard-working people and we don't like it when someone takes our money and then does exactly what this company did poor business ethics.I would not recommend them to anyone! this was truly a nightmare scenario. I needed a new roof. Long basically pressured me by saying I could've agreed to a low price today would be twice other that at any other time I was told by another company that I could've got the same roof with the same shingles and the same guarantee for about 6000 less than the great price that Long gave me. About three years later, a tree landed on my roof. It was an insurance issue. I call Long to get a written estimate because I figured that was the best place to use. They told me it was their policy not to give me an estimate in writing that I needed for theinsurance company. I tried to appeal all the way up to a company exec who said he was always available to take my input I sent an email he never responded. I have a leak issue and was told that my roof which was put up in 2017 was missing a cricket which has been code since 2012. I called Long to come out to do an evaluation, they gave me a date, changed the date, confirmed the first date, then said that they would call me back to make sure that they could come on that day. Long has yet to call me since , but they tell me how good the warranty is that they stand behind. Then they've called me to ask if I'm interested in any other Long products after they've been screwing me for about eight years. I need a lot better than this. I moved in to my new condo and the previous owner informed me that my screen door had a warranty and needed to be replaced since they were holes in the screen door. I have called this company almost 10 times in regards to getting my screen door replaced. I gave them the project number. I had the service cell phone number and the direct supervisor phone number and I would call those numbers would always be sent to voicemail or if I did reach the front desk they would tell me that the one and only scheduler was away from their desk and then that they would give me a call back at the end of the day and they repeated that to me multiple times and that never happened and I never got a call back. And I am just beyond irritated and annoyed with their lack of service and communication skills and lack of any interest in helping out a customer. I would never recommend this company, and I really think they need to improve all aspects of their business. read more

Long roof did a complete roof replacement for me in 2021 and gave a 15 year guarantee. I started having problems with the roof in 2025, just 4 years after installation and requested repairs. It took about 3 weeks to get someone out; a guy who spoke little English came, went up & down on his ladder, couldn't explain what he was doing, had his Service Manager on the phone briefly, took some pics and left saying I would get a report. It's been a month. I've called multiple times and the Service Supervisor has not called, emailed nor mailed me anything. I paid a lot of money for evidently not such great work. read more

We hired them to replace a small shower in our master bathroom for $9200. The crew showed up 1 1/2 hours late, there were 3 workers. They worked hard until around 4pm, then rushed to finish up by 5pm. When finished, we notice a gap in the glass door at the bottom. The shower floor was not installed level, so things were not even and water could easily splash out. They said we would need a custom door made now, and took the one they brought with them and left. Upon closer inspection, we found 13 issues. These included missing caulk under the 2 shelves, the shelves were not installed level, the ceiling with the light fixture was not even end to end, the walls where they met the floor had large gaps (not even across), the water on/off fixtures were shaky and not supported behind the wall, and on and on. We called but did not get through to the manager and I sent an email to the president of the company. The work looks like it was completed by a 10 year old, and I could have done a better job than they did. For $9200, this was a bad joke. Needless to say, they wanted to send someone out to inspect which I allowed but told them I lost complete faith in the company's ability to do the work. I hired an attorney who wrote a letter and demanded to be let out of the contract, which they agreed to. I was told they fired the crew that did the work and still wanted to come back for a new complete installation, which I refused. Run away as fast as you can from this company, they are terrible in every way. For them, it's volume, not quality. I was told by a worker about 30% or more of the jobs require someone to come back out for repair, redo or inspection of poor quality work. Need I say more. read more

They installed a roof on my house several years ago but will not honor the warranty by replacing the small areas where shingles have fallen off. They've actually fallen off several times. I have to keep calling them repeatedly to get a response, and that response doesn't include doing the repair, just saying they'll schedule it. Most recently, after more than a month of inaction, they said they would have to determine whether the damage was covered by the warranty, because it might have been due to higher winds than their product withstands. I researched it, and the winds during thay time period got no higher than 12 mph. So don't buy a roof from these people. read more

The lady who scheduled the estimate said it would be less than an hour. The gentleman came in and measured my shower and bathtub. Then, he made a comment that he has to talk to his manager or someone about the measurements so he goes to his car and sits there for 15 minutes probably discussing ways to rip us off due to our ZIP Code. When he came back to the house, I thought he was going to go over the cost. Nope! He made me sit through a slide presentation about how great the company is and how much business they get. After working all day, I do not want to sit through a slide presentation. After talking to him, I learned they only do showers/ tubs, but they won't do anything else in the bathroom. People who want a full remodel why would they hire you? Then, I thought he said he replaces the plumbing whether it needs it or not due to the warranty. He was here for over an hour and 20 minutes. What a big waste of time. They quoted me 44,000 for a new shower and tub They don't even use tile or high end products that remodel companies use. This is more for commercial or apartment buildings not for an individual home. They use some other material that looks cheap. What a joke! please review the Yelp comments. The yelp reviews are all true. They use the 1980s business model. You have to have both owners present along a slide presentation that we had eventually ask him to leave because he was almost there for two hours. I was mad that he wasted my night after a long day at work when this estimate could've taken a half an hour. He didn't even give us any brochures to look at. The quote was for 44,000 which is the inflation number and after I laughed he brought it down to 42,000. This company wants you to sign that day and this guy knew we weren't playing his game as we have not had a follow up call. What can I say about this company, NOTHING GOOD! They came out last February. They presses me out to make an appointment. The person that I spome with wasnt the nicest person, so I fi ally made thr appointment in February of this year. They came out and redid our bathroom. From first glance the bathroom looked rwally nice, which it was, but the blinds that I had purchased doe the job, the installers broke them, secondly within a month of the install, all the caulking around the tub had turned yellow. The caulking was supposed to be white and not yellow. It looks like they were using white amd then they must have ran out amd juat uaes whatever color they had with them in order to finish the job. Our shower walls are a black, white, and gray colored marble, and the tub ia white. The YELLOW caulking looks horrible. It doesnt go with anything in the bathroom at all. It clashes with everything and makes the bathroom look old and dated. FYI, id they tell you this isba lifstime warranty, dont believe it. They sent a project manager named Heather out to make aure I was happy with everything and she said if there was anything that I needed to please give her a call and she would take care of it. After thr projexr was over I reached out tobher several times and she never answered the phone. I called, texted, left messages several timea regarding a few issues I had with the work amd she never contacted me back regarding my concerns. I called the company and spoke to several people who promised to get back with me and they never did. They were very unresponsive. After SIX MONTHS of calling and them taking me out of my character I finnaly got some help. A manager named Alex is the only one that partially helped me. He finally got someone to come out and re-caulk the area,. Also I told him about the broken blinds. I was supposed to get a refund, but as of yet I have mever received a refund. Earlier I was told to send photos of the broken blinds and caulking. I sent the pictures to Heather, the company amd some of the other mamager thar I jad spoken to along the way, and srill nothing was done until this time. He sent someone out to do the caulking and I never receivee a redund dor my blinds. Within in a few months ofnthem recaulking the tub, the caulking has turned yellow again. So I guess at this point I have to live with this. I am currently paying iver $11,000.00 for something I am not completely satisfied with. I have sent my review several times and it doesn't get posted. In a nutshell the customer service is a joke..THERE IS NONE! My sales person was Eric. I called him several times to tell him that no one has called me to schedule this. Each time he told me he would have someone call me back in the morning and I never happened several times. I tried sending an email and to my email. I called the main number and spoke to someone and told her this was the worst service I've ever had and if I could, I wanted to get out of the contract.. She said she would have Frank call me. No call from Frank. I called Eric and told him what happened and he offered to do something for me and asked me what I wanted and I said well I would love for the one panel to be in the scalloped pattern. He said he would see if it was in stock and would call me back . He didn't call me back. I finally called him and he said the scalloped pattern was not in stock. He sent me two pictures of other panels by text and asked me if I liked either one. I said the marbleized one would be OK, but was not my favorite. He said he would see if it was in stock. I got no callback . I finally got a call from a lady who wanted to schedule the day of installation And scheduled it for about four days later. About four days later and installer came out went into the bathroom said that I had a cast-iron tub and he wasn't gonna do anything. He left my house. At this point, I don't remember if I called somebody or somebody called me, but they did say a new crew would come out the next day. The crew did come and on the second day of installation I saw that they had installed a plain panel on one of the three sides. I told them that Eric had said he would get me a patterned panel there. I asked them to stop until I of Eric. I called Eric and told him what happened and he said there was not a none of the panels were in stock and he proceeded to tell me he never promised me anything, I reminded him because he couldn't get the scalloped pattern that he sent me two other pictures and I told him I liked the marbleized one. He said none of those were in stock and he wouldn't have promised that to me anyway. I knew this was a so I hung up with him and asked the installer to go home so I could get hold of somebody to see what to do. At that point I couldn't get anybody to answer the phone so I just told the installer, Mark to come back whenever he could and he said he could come back on Sunday so we scheduled that. Then Frank called me and I returned his call that evening, and we had a wonderful yelling match back-and-forth at the top of our lungs. I told him he wasn't listening to me and all he was doing was thinking of what he could do to say text to get out of this. I finally asked him if he do anything for me at all and he said no so I told him Mark said he would come back on Sunday to finish the job and Mark did come back on Sunday and finished the job. Of course, as soon as the job was done, the company got the money from where I got the loan and they got paid immediately. The only good part of this whole thing was that Mark and his son who did the installation were just as nice as could be. I assume they were third-party vendors and did not actually work for long homes.. the one star I gave them should've been a zero stars, but that wasn't an option. read more

Long homes negotiating team of Rob and someone else was very disturbing. I was completely bait and switched. I negotiated one thing and got another. Which is weird because I negotiate at my job for over a decade. I never felt so lost and deceived during a negotiation. I didn't realize that I was only scheduled to get a shower and not a full bathroom remodel with my pricing. I called back to question some things. I was told someone would give me a call back. well with having so many different numbers that they can call you from, I missed the one call. I thought it was a spam number. I didn't recognize it from the numbers I already had from Long. I just don't appreciate their tactics. This was definitely not a clear negotiation whatsoever. I felT like I was taken advantage of. And they showed me a bunch of reviews from some other website. Never bothered to bring up the yelp reviews that are just absolutely terrible. I highly recommend going with another company that doesn't pull off such slimy tactics. And I have left two reviews in my life. One to tell how great this one experience I had was. These telemarketing calls have done one thing insured that this company will never get a penny of my money because they clearly harass people. For years we have enjoyed our Long Home products. One of the products is the gutter cover system. They work ok, but they still get debris. The sales pitch included lifetime cleaning. We have had them cleaned a couple of times over the past many years. Now, for the last two years, we can't get Long Fence to send a technician out to clean and inspect the system. We have talked to several people at the company and we are consistently told that we will get a call back. Then crickets. This has been going on for about 4 months now. The gutter system should be serviced by someone who knows the system. So, if you are thinking of buying Long Home products - make sure you have exhausted all other options. Log Home does not seem to stand behind their products like they used to. I am really disappointed. We are older now and can't clean the gutters ourselves. We would pay someone to service the system, but Long Fence does not offer that service either. I guess we will have to find another resource and/or replace the system. Leaving this to warn others. Either the salesperson needs training or is a total predator. He said he'd recently been promoted from Sales to something else. Regardless, this could have been a very costly and (potentially) dangerous situation for my parents so we cancelled. My elderly parents requested a quote to renovate their tub/shower to an ADA walk-in shower. The salesperson asked how old they were (without tying it to any business purpose) and quoted them $19K for an over glorified bath fitter. Comparable scopes are $9K. My parents said they wanted to talk to their kids before proceeding, and he started pressuring them to sign, offering a $4K reduction if they signed right then. He scratched out the corporate phone numbers on his business card and told them to only call his cell phone. I sent an email asking for clarification on where the scope of work was located in the contract. He said the contract doesn't outline services because they're insinuated, but he'd throw in an addendum to make us feel comfortable. I pointed out that intentionally omitting materials or services in a service contract violates the 2014 Maryland Consumer Protection Act. He said LH is certified by EPA to remediate mold and lead, and is included in the quoted price. I pointed out EPA's website says they do not have a mold remediation certification program and that such licenses are through the State of Maryland. Mold remediation is an entire industry for those who aren't familiar. Yikes. read more

Contacted Long Bath for shower remodel estimate. Salesman arrived on time and was knowledgeable about the upgrade and process. Everything went well until the price was presented, and the pressure to buy started. We clearly told the salesman that we would need 2-3 days to review before purchasing, but the salesman continued to push for a sale right then. We ended up asking the salesman to leave. He promised to send the estimate to us but never did. So glad we did not purchase, their price even with the "discounts" was much higher than other installers. Our home had long windows still under Warrenty when we purchased it. One window burst from cold and when we called for replacement they told us it was covered. It has now been 20 months, at least 20 calls to them, 3 of their people have come to our home and even that one window is not fixed correctly!! Now, they just stopped answering and returning calls all together the last 2 months. 1st person that came made of list of about 20 things on our windows that were covered and needed repair. For nearly a year they claimed window shortages were the reason they couldn't repair anything. Finally they said they had the replacement for the shattered window in our child's room which had been covered with plastic the entire year! The 2nd person that came said most of the issues the first person said were covered were not and the window we waited a year for was the wrong size but "he could make it work for now." He claimed the first guy had not only listed items not covered but measured the ones that were covered wrong. He claimed he was ordering replacements for 5 windows and should be a month to get them. When he finally returned, after many calls, 6 months later he only had two windows one of which he replaced the wrong one with which I didn't notice until that afternoon. I have not received a call back since. They may be great for install but once they have your money they obviously do not care about customer service or accuracy at all. The service is so bad I was making an estimate, I said I would contact him after discussing it with my wife, then the estimator was loud and insistent the we make a decision today. He said that the estimates for today and tomorrow would be different and he left without leaving a price quote. read more

Don't go anywhere near Long Bath. We arranged a home visit to get a "free estimate" on a shower renovation. (An ad for Long Bath magically appeared on my Facebook feed within seconds of my visiting the website of another company.) The visit was scheduled for 9:30 am; Richard Criste showed up at 10:00, which rather sucked because we had other obligations at 11:00. Mr. Criste spent almost an hour with us, surveying the situation, doing his prescribed song and dance, showing us some options, then taking five minutes to do a price calculation and finally writing down a price that he showed us. We had said from minute 1 that Long was the first company we were dealing with, so there was no way we could agree to anything immediately because we wanted multiple quotes. As he left, we told him we looked forward to receiving a written proposal from him, at which point he said we should contact him after we had gotten other quotes. We were in a rush to end things, but later I was not clear about whether he was going to send us a written quote, so I e-mailed him. And in response to the e-mail, he just repeated what he had said, which made it clear that he would NOT send us a written estimate until we got other estimates. I was just shocked. What kind of business refuses to put in writing a quote that its employee had given us orally, together with the facts upon which the quote was based? I responded that either he emailed us a written estimate in 24 hours or I would take consumer-related action. And this review, friends, is the first step I am taking to address this incredibly unprofessional business behavior. read more

The company has made good on the damages and agreed to not force us to deal with more damage on our bay window roofs. They finished the metal roofing, and we will have a major rain storm this week, so hopefully all will be well after. We are happy with the outcome, we wish it hadn't taken so much effort to get through. Also their project manager Tim, has been a class act, easy to deal with, a very stand up guy, the company should appreciate him. Also their delivery guy Frank is a great asset to the company as well. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! This Company cancelled the initial estimate on me 3 times making me drive 90 minutes to the property each time. They finally showed and gave me the typical hard sell "if you sign the contract today..." They gave us a quote so far over market value we should have walked away. But we agreed because of the "70 year history in the industry" We thought we were buying a service from a company with integrity. They took an immediate $18K deposit on a $55K project. I know, shame on me for agreeing to such an amount. We knew we were over spending, but... One month later, they simply cancelled the contract without explanation and without any work on the project. This contract was binding on us but, in their words, was not binding on them because "there's a clause in the fine print that allows them to cancel" THEY STILL HAVE OUR MONEY and I STILL NEED A ROOF Stay away from this company. Please save yourself a lot of time and heartache and go with a different company. I'll spare you the details about the installation a few years ago. It escalated to the regional manager, the crew that did the install got fired, it was a whole saga. Fast forward a few years and a tree branch went through our roof. Not their fault, but we needed it fixed. The insurance company needs an itemized estimate/invoice to pay out but LONG WON'T PROVIDE THAT. But, of course, if we go with another company, that voids the warranty on the roof. Nice expensive catch-22. The people who are at the top are grifters, and the people they hire are under-trained. The only people who seem to be good at their jobs are the salespeople. Honestly, take your business elsewhere. read more
