I signed up to do a tub to shower conversion, which was supposed to get completely done at the beginning of June 2024. However, once they said it was done I noticed that there was leak on one side, between the shower door frame and the shower base. Additionally, they never called the town to do final inspection like they said they would do! I called them repeatedly and they said that they would fix it, but they NEVER came back to finish the job! I am so upset and I went with them because it was supposed to be easy, and it has been anything but that. I will never use this company, nor refer this company to anyone. Made the mistake of responding to an internet add to get quote on a new walk in shower. After answering the phone the woman was forward, vulgar and immediately wanted to send out someone to give estimates on my roof as well as the shower. When I tried to explain my roof is 10 years old and I just want an estimate / ballpark of replacement of my existing tub she HUNG UP ON ME. You see a lot of these adds for companies that are known for roofing (chick with the creepy long fingers on TV) trying to make it in windows and batch or vise versa then they try to up sell you on services you don't need. BUYER BEWARE! HIGH pressure sales tactic. Way overpriced!!! By thousands and thousands compared to local companies Another review stated they had to ask sales person to leave. And that's what happened to me. I had to ask this obnoxious, condescending man to leave my home. Wanted a sale before he left ! A month later and all materials are still not in and my tub to shower is still not finished. I went to shower today and the shower handle fell off in my hand. CAUTIONARY TALE: I encourage all to take pre-sales reviews with a grain of salt. They are likely written under duress in hopes of a more favorable quote. I contracted with Long to replace my roof in April 2023. The roofing work was completed in a satisfactory and timely manner. Our area was pummeled several times this winter with torrential rain accompanied by high winds. In January, I noted a stain in my bathroom ceiling near a partition wall. After one particularly torrential storm, I noticed that not only had the stain on my bathroom ceiling expanded but also staining and some mold growth on the ceiling of the garage stall which sits directly below the bathroom. To rule out a plumbing issue, my plumber came and removed some of the drywall from the garage ceiling. The plumbing was in good order. Putting all the pieces together, we mutually concluded that the source was likely related to my new roof. Long project manager, Jason, came to investigate. No matter what he did, he could not replicate the conditions to force the roof to leak during his visit (lots of water but no wind). He did find tubing running from a roof vent full of water. He claimed that, because the bathroom fan had not yet been installed and the tubing had not been appropriately connected and "coiled", it had allowed the water coming into the vent to flow freely toward the other end of the tube which, apparently, was lying in my attic above the bathroom. He "remedied" this by emptying the tubing and coiling the hose properly during his visit. Unconvinced as this did not explain how all that water got into the tubing in the first place, I suggested that there may have been an issue with either the actual vent or the installation. Jason indicated that Long would remove the vent but I would likely be charged for the work. WHAT?! What ensued were ongoing issues with leaking, even as my bathroom renovation progressed, and repeated visits from Jason who pointed fingers at everyone and everything other than the clearly defective vent and/or installation. When the project was nearing completion, I awoke one rainy Saturday morning to witness water leaking into the bathroom at the opening for the newly installed ceiling fan. When Jason arrived yet again, he rechecked the connections and tubing (again full of water) and taped the suspect roof vent shut. It seemed clear to me, and Jason concurred, that the only solution was to abandon the roof vent and have a soffit vent installed instead, the latter of which I did at my expense so that my bathroom renovation could be completed. Jason agreed that his company would return to remove the roof vent and repair my garage ceiling, but I wanted to wait until my bathroom was finished to reduce the amount of disruption. Just over a month ago, I decided it was time. It is clear that I have been assigned to a "handler" by the name of Vanessa who, when I do get through to her, either places my call on hold and then later assures me that she will get back to me. Invariably, the call back never happens. The last time I did speak to Vanessa, she was happy to put me on the schedule to have the roof vent removed BUT informed me that her company would not repair my garage ceiling because someone else had removed the drywall!! It is my contention that the removal of the drywall was necessitated by the leak from the faulty roof vent and/or installation of this roof vent and the steps I took were reasonable ones in order to identify the issue. My efforts to speak with someone up the chain of command have been completely unsuccessful. The first was the "Production Manager", Gerald Patriquin who, as it turns out, is Jason's father, then "Branch Manager", Evan Greene. Not surprisingly, no one has reached out to me. Based on some other reviews, those at Long assigned to respond to negative reviews apparently only pay lip service to resolving issues. We just finished with a very thorough, professional presentation by Mason on a proposed tub-to-shower swap. Because of other higher priority to-do projects, we are looking at postponing this for about a year. However...I want to point out the low-pressure approach by Mason. who covered a lot of ground in about 90 minutes, and also for being flexible with pricing and promotions. The experience was a nice change of pace from other high pressure sales tactics by other home improvement companies. When the timing is right for us to pull the trigger, this is the first place we'll be looking at. read more

I recently had Long Roofing provide me a quote to replace my Roof. This company appeared to have a "family driven" approach, which I appreciated. BUT, when the sales person and his Manager began this quote process I felt I was buying a USED car. The sales person started at a REDICULOUS price of $68K for a hip roof colonial, with a two car garage and a Family room. This was approximately 32 square shingles. The Sales person remained in my home for 2 hours and as he was leaving reduced his cost by $25K, but shared that if he leaves that price also goes with him. What type of company uses this technique of PRESSURE selling on Capital investments in peoples HOME? I shared with both the sales person and his Manager, who called me to discuss why I didn't Pick Long, that i was INSULTED by this technique and this company should be held accountable by this process. I also shared that I intend on mentioning this to all my friends and family NEVER to use LONG. read more

Never have I seen such an obvious example of what happens when a company subjugates every aspect of quality to corporate profit. 1. Weeks of delays on a simple disability modification isn't so simple for the disabled person who needs that modification to live safely. 2. Installers (different ones each time, contra sales' promise) should be briefed on each job and generally knowledgeable about what a job entails--not ask that disabled person how to do their jobs (e.g., asking where support bars and curtain rods go, and not knowing where promised hardware is) or think they only need a few hours for a 10-plus-hour job. 3. Leaving the ceiling fully open while demanding the payment balance is shitty and unprofessional. (Do we think anyone's coming back after that final check clears?) 4. Finally, after dithering for weeks just to close the ceiling, leaving an unfinished, uneven ceiling patch and dirty grout until the client gives up and decides to hire someone else to finish the job is the work of a company that's purposely setting its reputation on fire. I'd like to emphasize that every person, every contractor and worker and so forth, was lovely--cheerful, professional; just uninformed and not necessarily competent. They had no idea what they were in for, and they didn't say a word about how the company seemed to be screwing them just as hard. Edited to add: I've been in this house and using this shower for 10 years. Within a few weeks of this installation, the new drain started unleashing hundreds of huge black flies. Long quoted $37,000 for an 1800 sf asphalt roof with two skylights, one small gable, and little to no grade throughout the rest.  The next highest bid was $18,000.When we balked at the price it was dropped by $5k and then later by another $7.5  A quote that was $37k in short order went to $24,588. Long's new "rock bottom" price is still almost $6,000 over the highest competitor.  It also clearly showed us, and all of you reading now, that Long Roofing marks up their jobs at 100% profit or better if allowed. They are quite proud of the two-week training their roofers go through however I find it hard for that to be the justification for such a large cost discrepancy. read more

Demo was done in 1.5 hours, waited until the next day when I started calling, learned about the project coordinator at that point, plumber was a no show. It turns out, and this was confirmed by someone at Long, plumber was never schedule, although he got there quickly after I started complaining. Waited 2 days for building inspector, although I was told he was coming Wednesday, then he was coming Thursday, then he was coming Friday and the installation would start Friday afternoon. Well, I finally called the building inspector myself, he never (never never) received a call from anyone at Long. He came to my house within 10 minutes to do the inspect. Then I asked the installer what time he was coming on Friday, he said he wasn't scheduled until Monday. So why was I told Friday? Because they lied again. So needless to say I lost my temper at this point. Which prompted the installer to work a Saturday to get this job done. I have to say, the installer is the only person at Long that I trust. He was straight forward all the way. Again, love my new shower. Would not recommend Long Home Products to anyone and would not hire them again. read more

They called us to come out for a free estimate. When they gave us their pitch we thought it sounded good so we picked out a shingle roof because that is what we have now. It seems strange when they delivered the supplies because it didn't seem like shingles. When they came to start a manager came to tell me they switched to PVC instead. No one told us in advance, but we agreed what a mistake. Besides looking like an unfinished $30k roof it leaks and snow slides off the sides going up my front stairs.. After I called they came and looked and said they would fix the snow problem put edging and cones on the roof. Then about a week later a girl called and said there was nothing they can do. Tried the BBB but they are not accredited there, it's a lie! Not Satisfied still have the problem and they won't do anything to fix it. we are stuck with this awful roof! We are repeat customers of Long Home Products, having our roof done in 2018 and we were very happy. We were contacted about having our bathroom redone and decided to go with Long because of our past experience - bad move! The samples shown to us for the subway tile wall enclosures are not the same as the ones installed; the ones installed you can't even tell they're subway tile, the etchings are so light - very disappointing especially for the price we paid (way overcharged). The window that was installed was supposed to be tempered glass; it's not. And had we not asked about it, they wouldn't have disclosed that they installed a window that didn't have tempered glass. Their come-back was that they were going to coat the window panes with a film that would temper the glass; that never happened and we keep getting the same story every time we call with no progress. The window itself was either damaged before installation or damaged at installation and the only way it came about is that WE noticed the damage. the workers didn't inform us. Again, we keep getting the same story that they will send someone out to repair it when we call, but no follow-up. Also, the frame to the shower is leaching color from the metal onto the white sealer/caulking turning it brown - this started happening one week after installation. When we complained about that we were told that it was a chemical reaction that "happens sometimes," and again were told that someone would come out to replace the sealer/caulking. It has been two weeks and nobody bothers to follow up. This job has been a complete rip-off both in price and in quality of product. read more

I called for an estimate on replacing an old bathtub and to update my walk-in shower. However, on 4/5/2024 I was given a hand written estimate of $40K to replace the small/ standard size tub and surround anbb a small standard shower pan fixtures and surround to extend to the soaking tub behind the walk-in shower. I remained both men that I was seeking only estimated at this time. I was not new to Long as they built a $60K sunroom attached to an already deck. This purchase of the sunroom was in 2007. However, was then. Today a stealth like pressure was being used in after restating I am only taking estimates not only from Long but unnamed other companies. I was also asked what are your numbers. I asked for an itemized estimate to no avail. In fact they asked what was my number like a game while he held the actual cost written out without ever saying $40K aloud. I was told that after I sign the contract and paid one-third down cash or financed I could not see an itemization. I asked for a pamphlet about the bath materials and was told again when you sign. Now, when I asked them to leave, they offered a one time in home today price of $33K. Oh! I reminded them of the 50 percent discount bring advertised. One was on installation (Internet) and on Google for 50 percent of materials. However, when I asked they said it was for Labor. Foolishly to them I asked so it is actually $80K and the $40K is the discount. Of course their reply was no. So the one time in home only for 4/5/2024 was $33K. In conclusion, I after I got them out without my signature or cash, I searched Long Home on Better Bureau and Yelp. The majority reviews are similar in tactics to what I had experienced. I even said this 2024 and I am ashamed to be in my own home at my age being put under pressure io buy now or this discount is void once we leave out but the actual cost of $40K is good for one year. read more

The salesman was very knowledgeable, I'll give him that, but would not accept leaving without a sale. Would not take no for an answer - until I got involved. He was asked to leave. Like other reviews, he was using used car sales tactics. She actually said to him " I'm not driving the car home tonight". Said NO multiple times. Anything to get the money. I had this company come to my house for a quote on bathroom renovation. They quickly ask you for choices of product, measure your bathroom and spit out a quote. Then they say I may qualify for discounts; any military in family going back to grandfather? Am I over 65? Ect. First It is obvious I am over 65 second I have 2 American flag displays for lost military. OK so they come up with a discount of about 20%, only if I sign immediately. Very Sketchy. I did not appreciate this sales approach. Funny thing is products look good and I may have signed for the discounted (which I believe is a fake amount) price if they offered that immediately and did not pressure me to sign that day read more

Still too high and I'm in disbelief as they try the old "let me call my manager" trick! Really? Then they continue with the old sense of urgency tactic. Just pointing out to the Long's person who will respond with "I'll be sure to communicate your feedback to management" that these reviews have been reflecting the same issues for over a year. If I could, I will give 0 stars. What a terrible company. Do NOT work with them. I called and set an appointment for a new roof estimate. They requested that all owners to be present - this is at least inconvenient and probably unreasonable. However, we need the roof to be done, so we agreed. They emailed us the confirmation of the appointment. On the appointment day, all the owners changed their plans and gathered at the property to wait for the estimate person. He never showed up. We called the company, waited long, and got different explanations (excuses) - "A manager determined that we couldn't do the work, so we called you". Well, you never did. And, wouldn't you know you couldn't do the work when I made the appointment? "The person answered phone was new. " No, she was not.... I wish I had read the reviews before I contacted them. Yikes. This review is for sales approach, we did not select Long Home Products. Simplified series of events below: 1. Three different operators called to schedule the estimate even after an appointment was already on the calendar 2. Scheduler made a huge deal about how my husband must be present at the appointment to answer any questions 3. I gave the sales rep who arrived to do the estimate our total budget for three projects in the first two minutes of the appointment 4. Estimate took two hours start to finish (our dinner was delivered and I said "I don't mean to rush you but we need to wrap this up" to which I got "I am GETTING to the pricing" which took another 20 minutes) 5. The pricing. $36,000 for a 1,500 square foot ranch for the roof and half of one of the other projects, and did not take into account the other 1.5 projects (keep in mind our 5 other quotes were $9K - $12K range for roof-only, $15K - $18K for all three) 6. But wait! If you sign up for our preferred customer program you can have the roof for $26,000 7. BUT WAIT! If you sign up for the preferred customer program, agree to marketing efforts, photos, and a google review I will call the office to see what we can do 8. Made a big show of calling the office and throwing numbers around 9. Good news! The office said we can give you the roof for $18,000 10. Me: "I'm not shaking on that" 11. Sales rep: "Woah, I'm hella confused I thought we had a deal" 12. When my husband asked if they could give us 24 hours to think on it, we were told 'when I drive away the deal goes away.' 13. They drove away. End scene. The most frustrating part was being presented with an obscene price after I was explicitly clear that our budget was "X" and that we did not want to finance any percentage of the project. What a colossal waste of time and energy for all parties. I'd be wary of their google reviews if they're using them as a bargaining chip to lower their price. read more

One of the reasons I chose this company was because of the reviews. I now know that the reason there are so many 5-star reviews is because Long Home Baths vigorously tries to remedy any issues you had to improve the reviews. This is not a bad thing it is a good thing, except it is a disservice to those reading the reviews, to take the review down after experiencing so many issues. I believe my shower looks great, but we paid a lot of money and did not receive exactly what we ordered. Long Home Baths did compensate us. Please do not make the same mistake I did. If the crew for a 1 day shower replacement is 1 person RESCHEDULE! Do not allow them to assure you it can be done in a timely manner! Before they begin have them show you the components. I did not learn the wrong base was on site until my only shower was destroyed. There were some very bad communication issues within the company between the receptionist and the project manager and his manager. Poor response time. It took a month to be satisfied but I am now a happy customer. It was not without difficulty. read more

Called customer support asking for service people to come back and finish the install of downspouts and to fix a leaking gutter (3 months old). My contractor told them exactly what was needed to finish the job. The two service techs show up, with ZERO product to finish the job. Over all great experience and happy with the quality of work and service. I am glad I looked at the Better Business bureau as well as Google I feel they are much more accurate. I work for a retail chain on cape cod selling furniture & mattresses. We have an A+ rating with the BBB and a 5 star rating on Google with over 100 5 star reviews but according to Yelp we are 1 star and it's impossible to respond and verify our reviews on Yelp. For this reason I don't consider Yelp reviews to be that beneficial or accurate however this is my experience. read more

We hired Long to convert my elderly mother's shower into a walk in that was more accessible. We signed the contract in March, told it would be done in a month or two...it was finally completed in September. 6 months for the tiniest, tiniest, bathroom. Should have taken a month, tops. Things were mis measured, supplies not received and the shower was then closed prior to the inspections so it had to be all torn down, inspected and then put back up. it was a terrible experience and very stressful for my mother. I don't envy your job and the unpleasantness you must feel having to respond to people like me who Long has allowed to fall through the cracks, or worse, to be treated badly during the actual work process. But as I highlighted previously, my wife and I already had taken half-days, twice, which equates to two full days off for the both of us. That occurred even after, during the scheduling for what was ultimately the second no-show, I explained so clearly and so abundantly my fear of being stood up again, as well as the weakness to the Long appointment confirmation process and was repeatedly assured it would not happen again. So, while I appreciate your responsibilities as a Long Customer Service representative and your offer, I do not want to place either of us in the "three-strikes" position, so we will part ways 0 for 2 and hope Long can improve it scheduling process for potential future customers. read more
