If you are looking for a tub to shower conversion, steer clear of Long Home Products. After a very smooth 2 hour in home pitch we signed on to have them convert our tub to a walk-in shower. We need this done because my husband is a new amputee and needs this accommodation. We went through financing fine and were waiting for the project to be scheduled. A plumber came out to "check the plumbing " and we never heard a word about it. Then, this week, 7 weeks after signing on, we received our deposit check back with no explanation whatsoever. It took several phone calls to find out that there were "problems" with our plumbing that their plumber found. The issues were that some of the pipes are in an"unheated" part of the basement, which the salesmen knew because we told them and that our shower drain was 1 1/2 inches instead of 2 inches which is code. The salesmen also knew this because they looked at it and we were told that it was no problem, that they could take care of that. Now, we have wasted 7 weeks and have to find another company to take on this project. Steer clear of Long. read more

My Wife and I were interested in having our tub enclosure replaced with a walk in shower. All done in 1 day. Salesperson Max was very good, fairly easy going but after a few days I changed my mind and cancelled. Of course I got the call from his manager to see if taking 4K off the price would change my mind. We decided we need the money to fix up our vacation camp. I was told my deposit would be refunded very soon, it's been 6 days and still nothing yet. They took the 3k right away but don't seem to want to give it back. 2 days into replacing the doors to my house, seemed like a great idea at first, now not so much, only 2 out of 4 doors have been replaced and I'm only just finding out now that they sent the wrong size door for one of the new doors and they told my yesterday that an electrician would be on sight for 9a.m. today to deal with the wire that's in the way of one of the doors and they also told me this morning that they would start installing the 3rd door upstairs, nope instead at 9:15 they have the project manager come out to my house and the 3rd door upstairs never got installed. Not a good experience with this company at all. Edit, almost four months past the original start date 11/7/23, now it's 3/5/24 and long home is finally done installing all 4 doors and 3 screen doors and they want over $44k. RUN do not walk away from Long Home Products!!!! My husband and I met with Long sales reps to discuss a tub to shower conversion in our one and only bathroom. After negotiating back and forth (I felt like I was buying a car) we settled on a price of $17,000.00. A lot more than we wanted to spend but we wanted it done quickly. After hearing nothing for several months we were contacted to let us know that there was an issue with getting their building permit. The issue (a problem on our part) was taken care of the very next day. Fast forward another month and a half with no communication whatsoever and we get a call saying they would be installing in two weeks. The installer showed up around 10 saying he would get started with demolition and his partner would be along as he was picking up the stock for the job (shouldn't they have picked up stock the day before and arrived ready to start?). Obviously they were not going to be done "in as little as one day" do we were assuming they would be done the next day. WRONG!!! Fast forward to Friday!! After multiple screw up's on their part (wrong size shower pan, wall panel that didn't match, and more) they were done. A whole week without a shower!! Saturday morning looking forward to a shower in my new shower....only cold water! No communication and after offers of some compensation we were charged the full price. They are terrible, do NOT use them!! read more

I don't know if they are even a real business, but under no circumstances should anyone allow them to have their phone number. While we have had no complaints about the quality of our new roof, we have been far from satisfied with the level of customer service. Perhaps we should have known this was how the relationship would proceed, when Long Home Products made no attempt whatsoever to address our concern about the damage done to our home by the dumpster sub-contractor, instead passing us off to said contractor who simply stonewalled us until we gave up. As was said to me at the conclusion of the roofing project, we are "married" for the next 50 years. At the time, I took that to mean that Long Home Products would provide the necessary support and service to ensure the longevity of our investment. Now I have come to understand that it essentially means that Long Home Products has us over a barrel for the foreseeable future, where they have basically no obligation to do anything, and can essentially extort us for minor repairs because anything else we might do will invalidate our warranty. Maybe I have it wrong, but that is certainly what it feels like. As it stands, at the beginning of the Spring I requested service for some minor damage that appears to have occurred when we had a moving container picked up from our driveway. The initial verbal estimate was $1000-1200. In truth, it was probably more than I expected, but that is the cost of doing business. Several weeks went by with no further contact from LHP. I reached out again via a website form, and my wife received a call from LHP. My wife was given a verbal estimate of around $1500. She asked for the estimate in writing, and is still waiting for it. After several more weeks, my wife reached out again, only to be told that since she had been dealing with a specific person, she would have to wait until that individual got back in touch with her. My wife called again yesterday, and now the estimate is around $1850. My wife, again, asked for the estimate in writing and was told it will take a few days. I am starting to doubt that the 50 year warranty is worth having to continue to deal with LHP, and it occurs to me that may be precisely what LHP wants. read more

Salesman came out and told me it would be almost $100K to put a raised seam metal roof on my house, ~1800ft² roof, basic new england style cape, also tried to offer asphalt shingles for almost $30k. I'm going to start by stating that they did not do my roof. They did my neighbor's roof. That being said, I was very unhappy with their cleanup. They had a trailer in my neighbor's driveway, which is next to my driveway. I feel like there's a standard where roofers secure a slide to ensure that that debris completely goes into a dumpster/trailer. They threw shingles and debris off the roof and things went everywhere. They either didn't sweep up or did a very poor job at doing so. We found multiple nails in our driveway and my fiance stepped on one. Thankfully, we was wearing a sandal with a deep sole. A level of carelessness that Long Roofing showed with almost guarantee that someone will be injured in the future. If that nail had been a little longer, I would be filing a law suit rather than posting a negative review. Proceed with caution. read more

My experience with Long Roofing started out well but did not end up well. I had the salesperson come to my house. He was very nice and quoted me a price of $40,000. People had been telling me that the cost of a new roof was anywhere between $30,000 and $40,000 so I gave him a deposit. I told him that I could not do the roof immediately, he said it was fine. A couple of weeks go by, and I am beginning to wonder $40,000 seemed to be a bit much. I call the sales guy and he start peddling backwards. At the beginning of the conversations to follow the first price was $40,000 and then it was $30,000 and then $20,000. How in the world can a company go from $40,0000 to. $20,000. I feel that this is unethical and taking advantage of the consumer. I am a single woman who just purchased a house. I don't have a lot of cash. I never thought I would be taken for a ride, but I was. I could not have the roof done immediately. The sales guy said it was not a problem. A salesperson called me twice a week asking for a date to do the roof, then once a week. I told her I would call her. Well, LONG ROOF certainly did leave a sour taste in my mouth, dealing with this company was very upsetting. I no longer wanted to do business with them and wanted my deposit returned. I was bullied and lied to. LONG told me that I couldn't have my deposit back because they already pull permits (I later found out, they did NOT pull permits). They also told me that they order products to do my roof. My roof did not call for any outrageous product. They were using what they sell and had in stock, and they could put the asphalts shingles back into their inventory. I feel that NOT returning my deposit is unfair. My deposit means more to me than a big business-like LONG Roofing. I am learning quite quickly NOT to do business with LONG Roofing. This company is after the almighty dollar. LONG is not respectful of the consumer, especially women. They are so concerned with keeping my deposit that they lied to me, bullied me, and were extremely rude to me. If LONG ROOFING wanted to salvage any integrity, they should return my deposit. Just saw a Long commercial which reminded me to write this review. My husband and I had the same experience as 99 S's review. Although the salesmen were polite, I would rather have a root canal than sit through their sales pitch again! Run the other way if it is required that both homeowners be present for the pitch (think timeshare sales). My father was a contractor so we have some experience in the field, and immediately knew that the first quote was waaaaaaay overpriced. They did come back with 2 more quotes (seriously?), but both were still overpriced. Honestly, I cannot believe that this is the way Long does business. All I can think of is that some poor elderly couple will fall for their high-pressured sales tactics. Try a local roofer like we did -- we saved over $10,000. read more

I had a 10:00 AM appointment to get an estimate for a new roof. Three (yes, three) people called me to confirm the appointment. By 11:00 AM no one had shown up. I called the office and the person on the phone said, "It says here that your appointment was never confirmed." Are you kidding me? I read all the bad reviews and wanted to give them a chance, but no dice. These people are bloated with office personnel who make call after call to schedule and appointment and then they no call, no show. They're such a terrible company. I had to use the same forcefulness i used getting out of a timeshare presentation. And one of them became angry and immature that I would not sign up right away. Boy oh boy I WISH I had read these reviews first. RUN not walk away from this company. I hired them to install a new tub. They have the audacity to say Customer Service is our number one priority! This was a nightmare from beginning to end...in between they cut an electrical cord which needed an electrician. While they were working there was a leak in my ceiling (bathroom's on second floor...ONLY bathroom) they supposedly fixed it. THREEE weeks later it was dripping enough so that three hand towels were soaked. Of course this happened on a Saturday. NO one answered the phones and there was no voice mail. We did receive a call, oddly enough, the next morning. The young girl was very apologetic and said that she'd put in a work order. I told her I wanted someone there the next morning because as I mentioned we have one bathroom. Now wouldn't you think someone, anyone, would have called FIRST thing Monday morning seeing how they value their customers so much? I had to call them and then got the run around. I did not get my leak fixed until Tuesday afternoon. Which only happened because I kept calling. I ended up writing a letter to John Foley, District Manager who called me. According to his records my case was closed because they fixed the leak. Ummmm my ceiling needs repair. Oh, well let me re-open it. Again, if I didn't pursue as far as they were concerned they got my money, quite a bit of it, and that's all they care about. They are coming out next week to repair the ceiling that was just re-done two years ago. HORRIBLE company. Run...far away. read more

The Long Roofing supervisor did not even stay with the crew, which was NOT a Long Roofing crew. They did a poor job and I was still picking up nails and debris 3 months after the job was done. There is a broken shingle that was never addressed and was broken when they put the roof on. They damaged boards - one board was cracked in half and is sticking out now if you look from inside the attic. I texted them photos of this ...no response. BEWARE of their sales team and financing!!!! 2 man flim-flam. One person does the sales presentation while the other one "works on financing" and "comes up with a loan and a payment you can afford." The "loan" is a company credit line (credit card) and the minimum payment they describe as your payment amount would have you paying more than twice the price you were quoted. BEWARE. This is a credit card with huge interest. HUGE INTEREST RATE. NO PAPERWORK HANDED TO YOU TO REVIEW. Everything done on a table and at light speed. Not what reputable people would do. It's hilarious to read Customer Service Representative Brianna giving the same response over and over again to the same complaints about Long Home Products. Poor woman, terrible and thankless job! And it is hilarious to read about the repeated sales tactics. I contacted a local roofing company online, but somehow got routed to Long Home Products, and someone called me within 30 seconds to set up an appointment. (After that I did get multiple calls from Long, but they went straight to the spam folder. Smart phone--smarter than me.) The salesman came, spent almost three hours reviewing the roofing materials and warranties, and gave us a quote for $30,000. We balked. He then gave us a "Preferred Client Program" deal for $26K. We wanted to think about it. He then called his manager (apparently!!!), who said we could have the new roof for $20K if we signed a contract that day--and if they could put a sign on the lawn, and use our testimonial for marketing. Our salesman said 92% of their customers sign a contract the day of the presentation. We said we still wanted to shop around. He would not take that as an answer!! He would not leave!! A seemingly nice young man who turned into a well-trained and relentless high-pressure salesman--following exactly the bad-faith sales routine described in other complaints. He asked, didn't we trust him? Why, he repeatedly asked, wouldn't we sign the contract immediately if the company's promises met all our concerns about materials, workmanship, and warranties? I rolled my eyes, weary, feeling violated. My wife more forcefully told him to leave, and he finally did go. I just read the dozens of complaints about Long on the Better Business Bureau site. I asked Long Home Products to give me a price to replace my roof. I explained to the two salesmen that did arrive on time and were very friendly that I would be getting three quotes to help me decide my budget and which company I would select. After three and a half hours of them telling me how great Long Home Products is and how bad every other company is they shocked me with a price of almost 40K to replace my roof. When I expressed my concerns about the very high price, they found some discounts that they could apply which still kept the price very high. That's when they called a manager who approved a 22K price but only if I signed a contract right then and there. I reminded them that I wouldn't be making a decision until all three quotes were in hand. The friendly demeanor they came in with quickly disappeared, they got upset and couldn't believe that I felt I was being pressured into signing a contract without being given anytime to think or get another quote. Which is exactly what they were doing. They grabbed their belongings and slammed the front door as they left my house. In this era of internet reviews and consumers being able to warn each other online, why would Long Home Products use high-pressure sales tactics? read more

I was referred to this company through Home Advisors. Apparently, Home Advisors does not screen the companies they refer well. Two salesmen arrived for our appointment right on time. They were courteous and had a well-developed sales pitch. I realized I was being worked for a sale rather than they're just giving me a work estimate. At the end they offered a price for the work with a paper contract to sign that did not specify the materials, the exact work and so forth. Just a price for a generally described job. When I said I needed to think about this, they said they could offer a lower price if I decided right then and there. I then realized I was being subjected to a high-pressure disreputable sales tactic. When I objected to this tactic, they said everyone does it. (That turned out to not be so. The next two companies gave me a written and detailed estimate and left it with me to think over and get back to them. And the estimates were much lower than Long Home Products' supposed rock bottom offer.) Customers should remind themselves to stay away from any company that uses this high-pressure sales tactic. A good company does not need to use it to get business. It was such an unpleasant experience to encounter it with Long Home Products. read more

What a scam! Was looking to get a bathroom remodeled and called Long Home. Huge mistake! I placed a deposit for $8206.00 to get some work done. I knew it was expensive but I have two young kids and needed the work done asap. I spoke with a plumber right after the Long Home salesmen left. Plumber advised me I needed a total bathroom renovation, which Long Homes does not do. Within 3 hours of meeting with the Long Home reps I called them to cancel the order. Long Homes guarantees a full refund if the job is canceled within 72 hours but Long Homes tells you they will issue within 14 days. I canceled the job through certified mail. I waited 2 weeks, no word from Long Homes, no refund. I called to complain and I was told there's a 14 day waiting period to receive a refund which I reminded them it was already past the 14 days. They had no response. I left a bad Google review and about an hour later got a call from long homes asking me if I would take the bad Google review down. I said where is my money and when am I getting it? No response it has now been over a month and I still have no refund. This company is a fraud. Go on the Better Business Bureau's website and search Long Homes. The amount of one star reviews and people getting screwed out of their money is outrageous. I am now going to reach out to the attorney general, the Better Business Bureau, and will be hiring an attorney. This company will literally steal your money without a second thought. Pathetic. I can assure you practically all their 5 stars are bogus. Clicking on their URL on their website to contest anything about this fraudulent company does not lead anywhere, even the phone number associated with Long Homes is disconnected. We hired them to install our upstairs windows. Terrible Communication. We can never get in touch with anyone or get a callback. The install, shoddy at best. It took a month for someone to measure the windows because according to the company, the 2 guys who do the measuring didn't live near us and didn't want to come out. All of our window frames have damage to them, one is beyond a simple sand/paint job. The windows are custom measured, but they measured a window wrong, about 1" too small on all sides, they had to add extra molding to hold it in. One of our windows was crooked and instead of putting shims in the window frame they opted to hang the window crooked and talked in circles of why he had to hang it that way. One window has a chip in the middle layers of the glass and a few windows have scratches in the glass. they did a pretty poor job cleaning up, we were cleaning glue from areas that shouldn't even have glue on it. And of course can't get a callback from the company to fix the mistakes. read more
