We got our unit serviced and were told we needed a new one, but decided to get a repair. They put a $750 part that was not compatible on, and we had issues. After that they put in a new furnace in February 2026 at 10K, and we are having an issue with the chimney seal where the flue pipe meets the chimney. Disgusting oil and soot drips are leaking, and they came back to pretend to fix the problem and blame it on the chimney. The chimney was fine until they came to install the new unit. They will not fix the problem they made. Our new unit is being damaged and this is a safety issue. Would not recommend. Crooks. Liars. read more

Installed gas system a decade ago, yearly maintenance, no issues. Mid summer we detected a gas leak and national grid Shut service down to the boiler. this service was scheduled with explicit instructions to check the gas line where it went into the unit And fix. Not only did they ignore the instructions (the shut off notice was left right by the leak) but they turned it on again, failed to fix the leak AND a failed valve was left dripping. the tech was the same one who installed this a decade ago. He noted ON HIS NOTES that the unit vent wasn't pitched correctly when installed, and that to fix it we needed a new fatboy unit installed and new vent at legal pitch . He didn't state ANY of this to my wife, or me when he called me in a panic after I called the office to query what was going on. Instead he "found" a CO leak at 12ppm goi g up to 25ppm at the tank. He the claimed tank was broken .. "well, it's 11 years old and out of warant as well" and he wanted $4600 to fix it because it was clearly leaking. Then $4000. Then "best we can do is $3550". CO reading made by me with a new testing device? 0. at the vent near the vent up the vent. 0. Onto recap. Turned the gas back on to a leaking gas boiler. did not even see water leaking out of a valve. Found an out of code install they did and tried to charge me my wife $3550 on the spot to fix it. Lied about tank being bad to cover himself. Note - i turned OFF the gas as soon as i came home to avoid any (marginal) risk of explosion, and the more senior guys they sent round actually replaced the black pipe and checked connections/ valves. read more

Scam artists. Stay away. They lied to me in an attempt to scare me into buying equipment I do not need. I bought a new home. The previous owners had an oil burner that was installed by Burner King in 2002. Ten years ago, the previous owners installed a gas conversion burner. When we moved in, I noticed it was leaking, so I called Burner King to come service it. All that was required was to replace the expansion tank and the pressure relief valve. Instead, the technician straight up lied to me by repeatedly insisting that the gas conversion burner was "illegal", that no company would service it, that National Grid would shut off my gas if they knew I had it, and that it would leak carbon monoxide and could cause a fire. He told me that the only solution was to spend $14,500 for them to throw out all the old equipment and install all new equipment. I paid him his $200 service fee and told him I'd get back to him. After doing all my research, I quickly realized that he was lying to me and using scare tactics to upsell me on expensive equipment I do not need. Stay away from this company at all costs. Giving two stars only because install was taken care of same day as appointment to inspect water heater. Had a new water heater installed. I honestly feel buyers remorse already. Paid $3,000 cash for removal of old tank and install of new tank and shame on me for not asking this but assumed they would get from a supply house vs off the shelf at home depot and they bought an off the shelf unit at home depot and the one with the shortest warranty at that. Never got an option to get 9 year warranty vs 6 year warranty or to avoid an off the shelf model from big box store. We only used them since the previous owners had the install and service done by them but this was a mistake. Looking back I should've asked more questions and not trusted them but to pay $3,000 for a $629 off the shelf Rheem Performance lower-to-mid-tier water heater I feel taken advantage of. I called office while folks were still here and told that is normal. The last tank got 10.5 years (don't know it actually needed to be replaced but didn't feel like chasing replacement parts so figured this was easiest solution) and the new tank I am not confident will get that same lifespan. I requested Service because my 13 year old boiler started giving be a little trouble. It would occasionally turn off for unknown reasons. I checked and and the Burnham boiler had a error code of 56 (Faulty Damper). I looked for a local Heating company that services my Boiler. I found Burner King which wasn't far from my home. I like to patronize businesses in my area. The tech responded in a short amount of time. I was told I need a new Damper and Circuit Board. A review of my heating system revealed I could use a New Water Heater since mine was starting to leak. I opted to get the work done. They came the very next morning (Feb 11, 2025) to do the install. They were professional and did a great job installing the items listed. Being my Furnace room is tight they consulted with me on where the best place to reposition my Water Heater which I appreciated. They ran new pipes and made the piping look better and more appealing to the eye than what was previously done. The tech also recommended that I switch to an independant gas water heater to save on electricity. New gas lines had to be run. The reason I gave 4 stars in stead of 5 is because I thought the price was a little high. I take some of the blame because I should have negotiated (business 101). You never know unless you ask. This was honestly the worst company that I have ever had to deal with. The man who spoke to me on the phone with a misogynist, and made me feel like if I didn't understand every year that a single part of my Burner system was repaired that I had no control over my house. After him berating me on the phone I asked him if he could only deal with my husband and he told me that he would not that he would like it to be a group effort because I don't have respect over my house by not understanding the systems that are working in it. However, I work a full-time job as well and am unable to be able to deal with every time there is a small repair in my system. He told me that after having someone come over and fix my hot water, and then our heating broke that he would not send somebody back until we had such a conversation, because it was not their problem. Even though we did not have an issue with our heat up until them coming to fix our hot water. And they requested me to get a system replaced that cost over $1500. I built my house over 20 years ago, it seems everything is breaking at the same time. One of the major components to go was my central air unit. Excellent company! My oil burner was leaking water and we called them to come look at it. Tgey kept in contact with us and called when on their way. The service man explained to us that we needed a new burner. Mine was about 17 years old. We wrote up the ticket and they came the next day to install it. The installers were extremely polite, very friendly, very professional. They made sure to cover all the grass up, leading into my house, as well as inside of my house. I purchased a new furnace and hot water heater from Long Island's Burner King .The President of the company is a pleasant and knowledgeable person. He is also a man of honor. Although there were some hiccups with the install, after speaking with the president he made sure that anything I was not satisfied with was fixed. Stay Away! I Should have listened to the other Yelpers and other reviews I had read online. Reasons to stay away: 1. Did not receive proper permit to begin job. 4 hours into job, got shut down by village building inspector and had to have a stop work order sign on my front door for a week. 2. Promised one stop shopping. Said they could re-crown and point my chimney. (Attached are pictures of that joke) 3. No call backs, the office manager has stopped answering my calls and stopped returning my messages and the owner is MIA. I had a positive experience with Burner King, consistent with my neighbor who used BK for their gas conversion. Toni Ann, our project manager, took over after Brian provided the quote/proposal. The timeframes provided for permits and installation was right on target. The job was done by Team Lead Chris, all involved were professional, clean and finished right on schedule. I recommend anyone thinking to do a gas conversion to get 3 estimates, but remember that effective project Management isn't something quoted so be certain to get referrals about customer experience during and after the installation.
