On a personal trip I to Georgia and visited longhorn around 2pm. I was pleasantly pleased with the lunch offerings as well as the great service from the barmaid, she was sweet and very pleasant. Came to this location for lunch today and ordered their burger. It was delicious and i paired with French fries and honey mustard. We ordered our food and it was 4 people and the meals came out quick. Great service and love that we didn't have to wait forever for our food. We met family and friends at this location. We were greeted warmly by the hostess, and our waitress, Jessi, was super friendly. I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and a house salad. My ribeye was a little fatty and a little tough, but the flavor was good. Other food ordered was steak and shrimp, french fries, and rice. Not the best. Went with a small group for a weekday lunch. Since I am not a meat eater wasn't expecting too much and that is what I got. The salad I ordered (with candied pecans) actually wasn't too bad. Had a side of fries with them and they tasted like they had been cooked the day prior and then improperly reheated. Also had plumbing issues that day so the men's room was torn apart and door propped open. This gave the restaurant a pretty bad musty water smell that didn't help. Honestly, I haven't had much luck with Longhorn over the last few years at other locations but this place has knocked it out of the park. Had a nice lunch here with a friend. Our server Leeann was super sweet and attentive. Bread, flo's filets, French onion soup, and Moscow mules were all spot on. The LongHorn in Calhoun, Georgia, had finally got its act together and was an enjoyable place to eat until tonight. Went out to eat with my wife, and everything was nice. There was no waiting or anything until they took us to a booth. There was a large party of 10 or more right there next to us, so we asked to be seated somewhere more private. "All our other tables are closed so you will have to wait," was the answer. There were plenty of open tables. I don't want to hear any defenses about opening tables and other nonsense. It was not like we asked to be seated across the restaurant, just away from the noise. I'm glad business is good that they can lose over $100 in sales from me as we just walked out. So very disappointed. We were looking forward to a nice dinner. We arrived at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon, the waiting area was full of a 14 people party. There was us (party of 3 ) and 2 sets of 2. We were told 20 minutes, that would have been very fine except the dining area was almost empty. Apparently they didn't have enough waiters.Finally seated ! We order a shrimp appetizer (which we asked to be delivered with our steaks ) . Welp out comes steak NO SHRIMP , we had to flag down the waitress and ask for the shrimp. This was probably the best experience I've had in a restaurant in over 20 years. We are traveling today and decided to stop in for dinner. I was so impressed with everyone we encountered especially our server Sarah. She is a Gem. She gave the best service. She was kind, knowledgeable, and very attentive. She even went far above expectations offering a clever solution to our left-over dilemma. We still had a 3 hour drive and worried that the food wouldn't be safe. She and the manager came up with a brilliant and simple solution. I am far beyond impressed by this location. It will now be a permanent staple when taking this drive. Best To-Go meal we've ever had! Blake took care of us at the bar while we waited for our food. He made sure I like the beer before ordering and even took the time to explain the re-opening process so we'd feel more comfortable staying at the bar while we waited. I can't say it's the worst but definitely not great. We got there and went on the waiting list. I kept checking it every few mins it bumped us down to 8 from 14 then all of a sudden back to 10, so I asked what was up with it and they explained. Our waiter was the best waiter I've ever seen and we eat out pretty much every night due to over the road driving. We got our food we all ordered the longhorn my dads was medium well and the cook burned it, he asked for a new one that was again supposed to be medium well and it came back well done. I ordered a to go longhorn for my husband so he could eat when he got to Calhoun , needless to say there were 2 blonde hairs in his food they definitely weren't mine they were short and blonde to the root. We go here a lot because its the only nice place in Calhoun, most of the time the food is good, after reopening it was not so good, the help seem confused, we had to wait for the side dishes and the salad came after we had our steak, I had to send back the broccoli it was mushy, I can not believe they would even put that on a plate. read more

Two stars - it's really amazing when I give a chain 2 stars because normally you are sure of getting exactly what you think you will get from a chain! It might not be a 5 star place - but I normally rate it based on what I believe a chain can offer. This one was a huge let down. I ordered the prime rib - I was just in the mood for it and with the sweet potato (butter, brown sugar and cinnamon) it was going to be just what I needed. The group of ten ordered some appetizers and after sampling each one - I wanted to spit them all out! The shrimp, the onion petals, the spinach dip - ALL so salty I felt my BP rising quickly. Finally my meal was delivered and it looked AMAZING. However, that was where amazing stopped! stopped dead cold on that plate. Though the steak looked like it was cooked perfectly it was - the problem - the JUICE - it was so damn salty I couldn't dunk the pieces of prime rib in it, which is my favorite thing to do and the reason I order prime rib! I simple was not impressed at all. Salt is typically added to food for two reasons - to hide how old the crap is or to bring out more flavor - someone at this place doesn't understand just how much salt to use for either reason - because there was so much salt nothing was good! Even my sweet potato was a let down as it didn't have enough butter and sugar even after asking for extra - it wasn't anything that I had come to expect at a Longhorn place. I have many friends that don't eat at chains and don't review chains for many reasons. I am glad I do so I get a chance to warn people like me - don't try this place! I would not go back inside this restaurant for all the tea in China. I've had better service from broken elevators. I ordered on line. Was ontime for my curb side pick up. And I waited and waited. Nothing! After 25 mintiest broke all conventional rules and walked inside in search of our food or at least to inquire about our order. Before I could locate anyone about our order I saw it, a salmon and a chicken plate cold as a mackerel. I had no luck getting any resolution so I took it back home. The fries we tossed, along with more than half the entree. 37.00 worth of inedible food and zero customer service. It will be a cold day in you know where before I go back inside ANY Longhorn restaurant. We weren't regular customers since they raised their prices to where the food just wasn't worth the cost, but my wife loved the salmon and we'd go once or twice a month still. This location is as poorly run as any chain restaurant I have ever visited. Usually chains have a deep layer of corporate responsibility that allows attrition to take care of problems like this before it festers to this level. But they clearly dropped the ball in the tall weeds on this occasion. We sat the bar when we got there because there was a 20-25 minute wait. We waited 30 mins and I went up to the host. He said 2 in front of us and than its our turn. Twenty mins later the bartender went to the host and than told us it was time. Now understand we did get a light up thing and it never went off. So when we were seated the server asked how we were and I told her "pissed". We waited 45 mins to be seated. So thanks to the mgr Matt, he paid for the dinner. If you are staying at the Fairfield Inn, this is on the next parking lot. Tasty meal that was better than I expected for a chain restaurant. Salad was just ok, but our chicken entrees were excellent. Great service and pleasant western decor makes this a great choice when traveling. read more
